After looking at the media introduction of Rob Kiernan on the official site I'm going to say with some confidence that the lad is a beast. He is apparently quick and owns some decent tekkers too so could be the most dominant CB we've had since the glory days of "Beast Mode" Boogie!

Looks quite skinny, compared to me anyway.

There was certainly a difference in muscle definition between him and Wilson so looks like he defo does a weight training programme. That being said Wilson impressed me last season with his distribution from the back as well as just his defensive attributes.

couple of observations . firstly it just warms ma cockles to see a championship side basically having every headline on the sports pages. where are all the spl teams. quite comical as to the stature our club holds. sorry to say it but wee stuart couldn't have done that.
and abot the guy wi the "smashed knees" as one poster called it. no car crash here just football injury that will be and has been taken care of.just ask craig Gordon about todays modern medical methods .and i'm sure his contract will be worded accordingly. mon the gers. deecee

Craig Gordon is a goalkeeper son,not a central midfielder.
Big,big difference.

Gkk I think your missing the point about Eustace his "smashed knee" as you refer to was injured in early January and he in his interview revealed he is back light running and hopes to start the season fit again. We call for a youthful team but of course need a couple of experienced players to steady the ship on the pitch and after signing two 23-year-old CBs he can provide vital protection to the back four, can help to progress the development of some of our younger players the way weir did with Wilson, and an experienced holding midfielder can allow the other two CMs, in warburtons 4-2-3-1 to push forward and get on the ball to influence the game leading to a better style of play we repeatadly call for.

Normally agree with your thinking gkk, but probably the most important joints to a goalkeeper are his knees. However, a central midfielder still needs a hell of a lot of pivotal movement and a good experienced brain can only carry you so far.

gkk.first of all thanks for the "son" compliment.makes me feel so young. and yes I do agree with you on the comparisons but don't you feel 'smashed knee" was a tad over the top. would have preferred dicky knees. all the best . deecee

Allan by all means, but not a 35yo with a smashed knee.
If he knows that market for players down there as well as I think he does,I reckon we could pick up someone in the same mould minus the knee issue, and a few years.

gkk I for one hope we do get eustace and when he has a smashing season leading by example and takes us back to the top league I for one will not hold your opinions against you although surely we should give him a chance? MW has made two good signings exactly what the fans were looking for young fresh blood in a much needed position so give it a rest see what happens and then judge the man on his signings when the season is underway!!!!

Who mentioned the other two ashlee?Who are tremendous signings btw.Young fresh blood you called them, whatever, but great signings. Its just my opinion, ashlee. You're perfectly entitled to yours.

Great news after I posted David Weirs quote that some of the oldies that left may be resigned. Mark Wabiton says he closed the door on Ibrox returns for any of the players who left after their deals expired in the summer, saying: 'Those boys have gone.'
He also warned last night that he will not tolerate slackers - and told his players to prepare for triple sessions in pre-season
This is what's been needed at Ibrox for years I like hIs style of management Come on Gers!
