Top 10 Managers

23 Jul 2019 22:45:31
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Top 10 Managers

23 Jul 2019 21:16:54
Joelinton maybe a prospect only a year younger than fredo! but hasn't scored more than 8 in one season including 2 years in Austria just sold for 40m! And some of you want to sell fredo for 10-12? I'll be expecting the usual sh&@e about disapline being the reason! No comparison in ability but Suarez and Diego Costa were also hot heads but that's what gave them the edge!

23 Jul 2019 22:03:56
Agreed!

25m.

24 Jul 2019 08:21:09
Aye, £25m for a guy who can’t get in our best starting 11 and has been benched for a 36 year old. That sounds about right, why not put a 90% sell on and an additional £1m per goal?

It’s unlikely we’ll sell him in this window, I think he’ll do well and then be sold at Christmas for a large fee (£12m / £15m)

24 Jul 2019 08:57:39
Fredo will 100% be our main ST this season if he stays no doubt about it! Your mocking 25m but celtic have just been offered that for KT an injury prone fullback (he is good when fit) and as I mentioned Joelinton what makes him worth 40!? St value goes largely in goal scoring which no1 can deny fredo does well and after that work rate and link play both of which Fredo does at a high level!

24 Jul 2019 09:22:55
it pretty straight forward

Joelinton played in Bundesliga, Alfie plays in SPL

English clubs have silly money, Hoffenheim don't need to sell for 10-20m but we do

Alfie has scored a lot of goals but never in big games, until he can prove he can score agaisnt THEM and big europen teams then will always be 10-15m mark.

24 Jul 2019 09:32:30
Fredo will be on the bench against Kilmarnock, if Defoe’s form slows down then he’ll get a chance, if not it’ll be a long season for him. As for Celtic, I couldn’t give a flying f*** what they do or say, they didn’t get £25m for Ternary and he’ll still be an injured Celtic player at the start of the season.

24 Jul 2019 11:23:13
Defoe is better than morelos, we play better with defoe, our link up play is better with defoe. Why do some people not see this? Flanagan has to play at left back aswell, barasic is 💩 and doesn't have half the fight flanagan has. 👍.

24 Jul 2019 12:54:36
I'd go for ability before 'fight' coldo. Morelos will/ would score more goals than defoe. That's what I look for in a striker. Remember its just opinions on this page.

24 Jul 2019 13:22:27
Joelintion was contracted to a bundesliga team he was on loan in Austria for 2 years 😂 where he scored no more than 8 in a season! Defoe was better than Morelos not now his work rate off the ball won’t cut it against the better teams when we need to dig in! as a pure finisher he was and still is awesome! Are the European fixtures not big games? Once he’s gone you’ll regret wanting him gone for a paulty 10-12m I know as a club we need the cash but let’s try n get 55 and stop the filth greeting 10 our best chance of that is with the SPLs top scorer you can’t argue with that! Flan maybe has more fightt but barasic starts for Croatia Flans a RB that gets caught wrong side every game he plays against someone half decent! remember barasic had injury issues last season there’s a player there! Anyway looking forward to the new season if Defoe or Flan are on better form I want to see them in there winning! my point is just because we play in Scotland it shouldn’t half our players value EPL and German teams will pay the right money if they want a player! Let’s Go.

24 Jul 2019 14:38:41
Well written R1.

24 Jul 2019 16:43:32
Barasic starts for croatia? And what? Have you seen him play for us? He's howling. Are you questioning defoe's work rate against bigger teams? Did you see him against celtic? Or any of the games after the split when morelos was out? That run we went on without morelos was the best run since 2011 where we dominated games. Defoe was an integral part of that. 👍.

24 Jul 2019 23:51:38
And what? Croatia are ranked one of the best countries in the world and he’s there LB he’ll get assists and he has real quality in his left foot he couldn’t stay fit last year and still started when he was. He’s far better than Flanagan at LB he Flan offers 0 going forward and to break teams down in Scotland you need good deliveries which if you watch Barasic he definitely has. Flanno at LB gets caught wrong side constantly aswell so for me he’s neither better defending or attacking. higher work rate yes but that’s not enough at Rangers! I Might be proved wrong but think barasic can be a quality player for us this year but we’ll see.

I don’t think Defoe will cover enough ground in the big games no if you think he does even close to the running/ defending Fredo does your mad! Defoe always has been even when he had the legs a penalty box striker and a great one at that again I’ve always liked him but Fredo IMO is better Now and he is the SPL top scorer so you can’t argue til Defoe keeps him out the team for a season which he won’t! Also did u watch Fredo against Celtic the game he stayed on the park he tortured there entire defence as he did with many other teams. Again I might be proven wrong but if fredo stays he’ll be our top scorer and talisman again and lead us to 55 come on El Buffalo 🇨🇴 💙 🙌🏻🙌🏻 And when he’s suspended Defoe will slip in 👍🏻 btw Aribo looks a Baller Davis looks sharp got a good feeling about this year 🙌🏻55.

23 Jul 2019 21:14:01
People need to calm down regarding this Sports Direct thing. We have just spent close to 4 million. No bad for a skint club facing a big bill.

23 Jul 2019 21:50:17
The clubs statement says a lot mate. The rags and the tims are all
Sayin we were still under comtract so we may need to
Go bavk to them. Not the case because that deal had entered its final year and when it ended we were open to
Offers hummell made a the offer but i believe there was something in tue termination of the sd deal thst meant they would have the chamce to better any deal
We may be offered. Well we wouldn't have had to
Tske there deal regardless so for me it makes no difference the outcome will ne thst the deal has ended as was written by both parties. But we will need to
Pay them some sort of compensation. The manky mob and all the rags up here will do
Anything to destabilise us at every turn becaise they all know its iver for them.

23 Jul 2019 21:52:18
It is concerning and the decision hasn’t gone the way the club expected, however, it won’t have any serious impact on financial ins and outs.
The press are doing the usual scare mongering and headline creating. from what I have heard the money required to cover this will be squared off by King himself. the fans will be hit by not being able to buy 2nd and 3rd kits unless all 3 parties sit down and find a solution for this season, Hummel will want this sorted asap.

23 Jul 2019 22:23:22
Scotty, I’ve heard a similar story, the sticking point being would all parties be prepared to sit down and sort the contractual details out to suit all? Ashley from what I hear wants to screw us big time but his business leads want resolution, time is it on our side.

24 Jul 2019 19:04:45
If we need to pay compo to sd and hummel if we need to end contract early then where is money going to come from. Its worrying we can't just hope dk will pay out his own pocket.

23 Jul 2019 18:51:49
To whole situation with Sports Direct now has to be explained by Dave King? I know there may be clauses concerning confidentiality but the case has been drawn out so long I am starting to get very worried!
It certainly explains why we entered into a deal with a relatively small firm in Hummel as none of the big boys wanted anything to do with a deal? This has to sorted ASAP by DK!

23 Jul 2019 20:02:36
I don't understand how they still have their claws in our merchandise.
We were supposed to have paid him off I thought.

Can we ever get rid?

23 Jul 2019 20:35:28
BBC reporting now that we could owe Ashley many million pounds? If true what are we talking 4/ 5 million 😭😡🇬🇧.

23 Jul 2019 20:37:44
I read it was only 1 million. Probably all speculation at the minute.

23 Jul 2019 20:40:32
Think you should go onto the official rangers page and have a read!

23 Jul 2019 21:36:14
Yately etc read rangers press release tonight.

23 Jul 2019 21:38:33
the official rangers page basically says they don't know how much it is going to cost the club.

23 Jul 2019 21:51:37
We will owe them some sort of compensation but a wouldn't listen to the bbc lol thsts a bitter bitter news mob roght there.

23 Jul 2019 23:14:47
Yes but panic button was pressed on here with a few. The rag an bbc heve calculated how much. God i wish i was as smart as them. NOT.

24 Jul 2019 09:05:50
Ask Jackie Mcnamara, he'll know how much we owe😂.

24 Jul 2019 12:26:27
the contract in its entirety is only worth 10 million! so it can't and won't be more than that! And after this season we still have another year to run so my reckoning the compo will be between 1 mil and 3.5 mil tops! And yately1 Hummel small company? get a grip!

24 Jul 2019 12:52:03
Barrowlad they are small in the football kit side of things compared to the other brands or nike, adidas, puma etc. I mean let's be honest, Without googling it you probably wouldn't be able to name 5 teams who they supply.

24 Jul 2019 13:25:11
orange without googling it you would be hard pushed to name what brand each team use!

23 Jul 2019 17:34:27
Steven Gerrard stated that the days of players being sold for a pittance were over! 250 k for candieas STRANGE!

23 Jul 2019 18:00:53
Jason, maybe he thinks that’s all he’s worth? ✌️.

23 Jul 2019 18:48:51
Jason, we made 250k profit. He was sold for £700k - £800.

23 Jul 2019 18:49:25
He's 31 &, i think, coming to the end of his contract. Maybe these factors influenced the price?

23 Jul 2019 18:49:39
250k I thought Rangers said the fee was undisclosed.

23 Jul 2019 19:03:01
Papers may say £250k
It was between £750-1m, this is from two friends that are connected too the club who have been better informed than the press.
I doubt we would let a strong squad player go for penny’s when we don’t need to or he is in the top five to go.

Same papers say Aribo cost was £2m fake news!

23 Jul 2019 19:34:06
What’s strange Jason? Feels right for the third choice right mid at 31 with 1 year left on his contract? Don’t tell me your one of these 20m / 30m idiots?

24 Jul 2019 01:22:43
Unbelievable selling for that price, questions need to be answered regarding the monies we get for selling players.

24 Jul 2019 13:04:10
robbie62 what part of the fee undisclosed don't you get?

23 Jul 2019 16:13:17
Very worried about losing Tav and morelos also this Mike A thing hope it does not put us back down that road again.

23 Jul 2019 16:48:20
If we lose tav and morelos then I would imagine we would get in the region of 25mil, therefore let's say we pay the fat rat 5-7mil, that would leave us 18-20mil to get a rb and a st. What's to worry about? 🤔👍.

23 Jul 2019 18:45:25
The thing to worry about is we know what we get with Tav. He will provide goals and assists, his defending is improving each season, and the big one is that he doesn’t get injured. He’s played almost 200 games for us in 4 years. If we sell him and Alfie it’s all well saying we’ll buy someone better but realistically how do you know they won’t be a dud or injury prone. Everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side and says we’ll get someone better but I really think if Tav goes the naysayers will finally realise what we had 👍 (a wee thumbs up for you Coldo)

23 Jul 2019 19:04:05
Think after yesterday’s outcome Newcastle will need to bid an unbelievable amount to get Tav.

23 Jul 2019 19:35:27
I think this law suit could be because he’s negotiating for Tav / Morelos? Might be wrong but with that fandan of a fat controller it wouldn’t surprise me.

23 Jul 2019 19:39:16
Coldo what you think of the whole MASH Retail? Is it ingenuous to get him off the radar completely or do you think we can be in danger of having to play millions?

Mike Ashley needs to realise that he is only tarnishing his reputation even moreso We don't not want to do Business with him He has already destroyed many company and a massive football club down south Who have been stagnant for years!

We will prosper for sure Too big not to and doesn't Mike Ashley know it!

Whatever the outcome I just hope we can move on form him totally We as fans have a big say and we want most of the money going into the ibrox coffers rather than the fat mans hands
Every £1 club was only to get 7p Eh right then Do one!

23 Jul 2019 19:56:58
Coldo pay the fat rat 5-7m? have you lost your mind the entire kit deal is worth £10m why would we even entertain paying anything like that? As I understand it Ashly would of stood to make around £2m from the merchandising deal so no court in the world would award him more than that especially the 5-7m you’re dribbling about.

23 Jul 2019 20:40:50
The fact the media are reporting it as millions of pounds and a comment from the club said being forced to pay it could have "serious impact on our ability to operate" makes me think it is a good bit over 2 mill Highland bear. Hard to know the facts of course and either of us could be right but to say coldo is slevering is a bit wide of the mark.

24 Jul 2019 00:03:02
I'm not saying it will be 5-7 mil, I'm just making a point that worst case scenario we have to pay a few mil and we lose tav and morelos then we will still be in the region of 20mil up. Blue89 have a day off! 👍.

23 Jul 2019 16:13:10
Hopefully with all this carry on with the fat man there's no way we will sell Tav to newcastle.

23 Jul 2019 16:49:19
Or we could and call it even👍.

23 Jul 2019 19:56:36
Cant call it even its a court case and football business will make no difference to this outcome!

MASH now knows that he has lost a good one by trying to gain massive advantage to a fallen club to line his own pockets! It egg on his face and he is NOT entitled to millions!

It would've been boycotted anyway but that wouldn't have don't much for the club and its fan base

He is desperate and trying to force our hand and indeed trying to cause more unrest to a club that is now on its feet and moving on.

23 Jul 2019 23:44:54
Wonder how much he has lost with the boycott. i urge all rangers fans to stay clear of shop at ibrox on match days and sports direct outlets all over.

23 Jul 2019 16:07:56
What’s going on with the whole Sports Direct/ Rangers merchandising deal? I read in the papers we might need to scrap our deal with Hummel? I’d be disappointed with this, been loving the kits last year and the new ones!

23 Jul 2019 16:02:46
Just a wee word for candieas. He was the hardest working player I can remember since wee nacho. He gave his all for the club, of which we could not of asked anymore. Might be a mistake to let him go, particularly for the price. But all I can say is good luck to you, and who will forget his backheel to get Alfredo in on goal against rapid vienna to get the winner? It was moments like that we all craved for years to have back at Ibrox and he was part of that. Once a ger. Always a ger 🇬🇧.

23 Jul 2019 16:43:56
Dunoon nota mistake, last twelve months high wages did not want to stay.

23 Jul 2019 19:36:20
Wish him all the best, let’s move on to better!

23 Jul 2019 15:52:12
I am seriously worried about what is going on with this parasite Mike Ashley can't bare to see the club go down that road again and those cockroaches from the east watch.

23 Jul 2019 16:05:07
As has been shown again and again in the law courts your team entered into legally binding contracts of their own volition and then proceeded to break them. Mr Ashley was merely seeking a remedy in law for financial loss. I believe the court are talking about 'many millions' of pounds. Additionally it seems that the 'Elite' agreement was also illegal and the club / company are liable there too. Mind you, when you put a convicted fraudster in de facto charge I suppose anything can be expected.

23 Jul 2019 17:53:05
TheMagyar I know this may be hard but THINK. Mike Ashley and his cronies drew up these contracts. I am not a lawyer but I work with quite a few. They don't know how these contracts have been allowed to stand, as a director of a company you are bound by law to only make deals which are advantageous to the firm/ company you represent. What our board should do is offer SDI the same profits they accrued in their last year as suppliers. With the vast majority boycotting his merchandise it can't be much. As an Hungarian I'd have thought you'd have more sense. If you are just here on the wind up well played.

23 Jul 2019 20:13:07
Blue. Dave King said at the time and the press repeated it, that the deal he signed had seen Ashley off. You were then told later by King that Ashley had been paid £3million and still had the deal. I didn't know that capitalism only allowed deals which benefitted both parties. If that's the case then the old maxim of 'Caveat Emptor'is clearly not needed.

23 Jul 2019 20:27:43
just how does buyer beware apply here? King paid ASshley off for a) to get his shares out of the club b) the return of our rights to our emblems etc. whoever advised him not to include the merchandising deal was either incompetent or a Celtic supporter.

23 Jul 2019 23:10:33
What's happening at our club regarding legal advice? . Time after time our lawyers are in conflict with Ashley's lawyers and they run rings around us. Surely they can't be that incompetent? Only reasoning I can think of is they advise King that Ashley is Likely to win but King still decided to go ahead with it- It appears that at best King is a hopeless optimist, otherwise he is a fool.

23 Jul 2019 14:41:35
What's all our opinions on the mike ashley and his company sports direct, likely to be getting millions from us? Firstly let me say that the guy within our boardroom, who allowed this to happen should be brought to task on this big time. We and i include myself here, continue saying we have to get shot of this fat ashley etc but what about the person responsible for making this massive mistake,
which allowed ashley to excercise this in the first place. It now looks helluva like we have to pay several millions, in damages to his company sports direct or there's a possibility that our elite/ hummel kit deal could be brought to an end, with sports direct back in the fray, handling our retail again, god forbid!
Whoever is in charge of our commercial side of things should, like it's said in the contract,
kept sports direct in the loop, of allowing them to match any deal. Didn't mean to say we had to go with them. Now we're in soapy bubbles because of negligence. We showed we were wrong, by trying to pay them £1million in damages because it was realised this was serious. You can't fool this f****r ashley and the lawyers that work on his behalf. I honestly don't know where we go from here with this mess of a situation regarding our retail/ kit deal.

23 Jul 2019 14:54:31
Big implacations need to pay the fat man millions it will have a knock on effect transfer budgets . on a deal put together by idiots were tied to him until 2023.

23 Jul 2019 14:56:11
SGL. I imagine the contract stated that if SD matched the best offer then they would automatically keep the contract. I don't want SD and my anywhere near Rangers but if she deal was exactly the same as we have with Hummel the surely that is better than paying millions in compo? Like you I think somebody's head should roll for this. We'll end up selling Morelos or Tav just to hand the money over to MA.

23 Jul 2019 15:23:13
You are right Parky, if indeed the Elite contract is terminated and SD come in then it’ll be on the same terms as the current deal.
From what I’ve been hearing today my might be looking for £1m damaged and the Elite deal terminated.

23 Jul 2019 15:35:51
Once again this is a total embarrassment to our Club, The halfwit who made this horrendous mistake, Should be Hung Drawn and Quartered, 😡.

23 Jul 2019 16:01:14
Dave has questions to answer.

23 Jul 2019 17:43:07
Agree with all the above, this is all very concerning. I received a message from a mate last night that we've apparently already let behind the scenes staff go, merely to make payroll for players this month and Hummell have withheld £1.4 million payment due to the Ashley fiasco. Furthermore, Douglas Park has been left almost £12.5 million out of pocket. Could all be a lot of rubbish but I think Dave King needs to come out and explain the situation. If this is Dave Kings strategy then it's been proven to be a risky and bad one. King is supposed to be a successful businessman, how did he possibly think he could walk away from the terms of a contract?

23 Jul 2019 18:26:08
I doubt there's been redundancies because of that. Pretty sure the 'soft loans' douglas park and others gave got turned into shares. Although there is plenty for Dave to explain.

23 Jul 2019 18:37:41
I was sent similar Struth, out of interest where bouts you stay mate?

23 Jul 2019 08:41:20
Half the nonsense on here is pathetic. Let the club deal in matters how they see fit.

The papers print speculation it’s not for us to rise to it and give it kudos.

DK will always be welcome back at ibrox as he gave all despite his limited ability. For a 31yr of that ilk getting his wage and bonuses free will allow us to get someone else in. It’s how it works. all the talk about him and tav is rubbish.

We have players up top to do the attacking so tav doesn’t need to now, no point in having a winger, who is better suited in covering for a defender to do the job he should be doing. Move on and get better players in.

23 Jul 2019 10:51:12
JKTF you actually think Tav will sit back? You think he's all of a sudden going to become a defensive RB?

Don't be silly mate.

23 Jul 2019 10:52:26
Whos dk mate? Daniel Kandeias? 😂😂😂.

23 Jul 2019 11:48:28
Patmo85, we will have been incorporating the need for forward players to track back in our training from day 1 when SG walked in the door. Players will always come and go, as it's a short career, and I wish DC well in his move to Turkey, a bit warmer in December and January also.

23 Jul 2019 14:41:26
Irvger, that has nowt to do with Tav becoming a defensive RB, its not going to happen.

23 Jul 2019 08:19:23
Morning Folks, I am of the opinion that no one apart from Rangers and the Turkish Club know the actual fee for DC, the press reports are guestimates. What is of a concern is the report of paying Ashley £Millions in compensation, millions, which we don't have, I agree that we have to get rid of Ashley, but, as I see it, we will just have to let the contract run down, any information or views on this fellow Bears.

{Ed001's Note - the fee is lodged with TMS (the transfer matching system), it is only the media that are guessing. Though add-ons etc are not included, so it could change later, right now £0 was paid according to TMS.}

23 Jul 2019 11:44:10
Thanks ED, as an old codger, I wasn't aware of the TMS, but, as long as we got something out of the deal.

{Ed001's Note - at the very least it will be a large wage saving plus it is always best to get rid of players who are not willing to fight for a place. They only end up sulky and affect the mood around the team adversely if kept.}

Review Of The Day 23rd July 2019

23 Jul 2019 07:39:01
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 23rd July 2019

23 Jul 2019 06:19:29
Daily record saying the deal for Aribo cost us nearly 2m?

23 Jul 2019 08:11:49
Got him for a development fee mate was a pre contract. Was roughly 300/ 400k.

23 Jul 2019 08:44:53
Cross border compo to charlton and a nice signing on fee. A steal by the looks of things👍.

23 Jul 2019 09:29:38
I'd take what the Daily Record says with a pinch of salt.

23 Jul 2019 09:32:55
The daily record are incapable of telling the truth - the truth doesn’t sell.

I suspect they don’t have a clue and are guessing.

Even if he did cost £2m I think it’s still value but I’d be surprised if it was that much.

23 Jul 2019 09:45:05
Bryan. 300k compensation to charlton. We then gave the lad a significant signing fee.
I’d say good business as he will make us a fortune in two to three years.

23 Jul 2019 10:14:38
He was a free agent. Development fee was 300k max.

23 Jul 2019 10:16:22
don't believe everything the papers say.

23 Jul 2019 12:34:51
I wouldn't believe what the papers say. I mean they're still saying Rangers aren't in liquidation.

23 Jul 2019 18:52:36
They said in total costs, not just the compensation fee. Learn to read. Agents fee and signing on fee won’t have been cheap.

24 Jul 2019 01:11:12
Agent fees.

24 Jul 2019 01:12:00
How would they know?
What makes everyone think that we are the only club in the world that allows complete strangers to sit in on transfer dealings?
From No Soap Sean Bhoy from Coatbridge, to a pi55 poor journalist from the Daily Rebel, they all seem to have an ‘expert’ opinion on Rangers transfer dealings.
