23 Jan 2020 21:01:49
So SFA having a go 'cos we're all giving the 'Compliance officer" a hard time ahhhh if she was competent and fit for purpose then maybe the criticism wouldn't be so direct.

24 Jan 2020 12:06:33
Understand she worked for the mankies so must still be biased and only makes decisions against them to pacify us.

24 Jan 2020 12:37:02
Poor woman probably terrified by all our "death threats" goal celebrations. We are such animals.

24 Jan 2020 13:56:15
Op ime sure I've read a few times that clair white is a. Celtic fan and a season ticket holder at parkhead.

24 Jan 2020 15:08:11
Celtic fans have raised a petition to get Boyd sacked for comments about poor wee Griffiths. what next. someone laughs when he misses and is arrested?

whats the world coming to.

24 Jan 2020 15:40:39
Well we should raise petition against Sutton and Hartson their comments and total bias is a joke it works both ways.

24 Jan 2020 17:11:54
somebody has.

23 Jan 2020 20:15:21
I just heard that 4 people in scotland are being tested for the coronavirus i'm so glad i don't drink that.

23 Jan 2020 20:53:34
Gonaenodaeypthat, that sounds like a statement we would hear a ticbfan. lol.

23 Jan 2020 18:27:41
Some posters complaining about the lack of goals and breaking teams down when Morelos isn’t in the team and start comparing us to Celtic.
We’ve scored 54 goals to Celtics 58 and have played a game less.
Morelos, our main striker has scored 12.
Defoe, our back up striker has also scored 12.
Things aren’t as grim as people make out.
And I’d take 1 - 0’s from now till May to secure the title.

23 Jan 2020 19:09:41
Mr Pacman u r correct.

23 Jan 2020 19:31:36
Once get we momentum going again we will be fine, a proper RF would help🤷‍♂️👍.

23 Jan 2020 20:13:01
I'd always like us to improve but we've not done to bad with the players we have so far this season and think we're good enough to win the league with the players we have.

23 Jan 2020 22:02:48
And our £7 million superstar LW turning it on against the wee teams would also help Coco👍.

23 Jan 2020 22:18:49
Our stand in striker has scored in both games and we have kept clean sheets, what's not to like?

23 Jan 2020 23:18:26
Best 7mil we will ever spend pacman👍.

24 Jan 2020 01:44:33
Sound the RF/ Kent fanboy alarm!

24 Jan 2020 13:24:28
Actually think that St Mirren will be toughest team we play in next few weeks. 541 whole game. 11 played in their own third for large periods.

A nil nil would've been a massive result for them.

24 Jan 2020 13:48:25
I’ll reserve judgement on that Coldo until he’s more consistent and he’s more influential on games 👍.

23 Jan 2020 18:27:00
Great to see the lad mccrorie make a good start for livi last night.
Does anyone know if it's true both hibs and hearts tried to buy him at start of week.

23 Jan 2020 20:56:59
John25. I don't know if there was any truth inthe edinburgh clubs trying to buy him, but i have seen it mentioned anfew times, on sites related to our club.

23 Jan 2020 21:23:53
Cool Paul. Boys a good yin, I remember when spurs tried to sign him when he turned 16.

24 Jan 2020 00:23:01
Heard about hibs mate.

23 Jan 2020 18:16:49
Going by certain reports, the young stoke city striker tyrese campbell, has stated that if he's to continue his football career in scotland, then its only rangers he's interested in signing for and has turned down celtic. Rangers regarded as favourites to capture the signature of young campbell.
Its a straight 3 way fight now, for this young man's signature, rangers, stoke city and sheff utd. Its a no brainer for campbell in choosing to prefer to play for a world class, iconic star like steven gerrard, or an absolute ned like neil lennon! 😂. that's why certain reports are stating that celtic have withdrew their interest, my backside! The truth of the matter is, tyrese campbell has turned them down! 😂😂.

23 Jan 2020 19:32:45
Its a no brainer coop, class will always attract👍.

23 Jan 2020 20:59:12
S. g. l. Mits at times like this ime truely greatful for the steven gerrard signing for us mate, none of us seen this happening 2 years ago,

23 Jan 2020 21:42:52
Sgl. Stoke city now saying Campbell has told them he is signing for Rangers.
Great business if true 400 k.

24 Jan 2020 00:14:59
In stevo we trust 🙏.

24 Jan 2020 04:55:22
And now he has told both old firm clubs he won't be signing for either. Nothing to do with money though.

24 Jan 2020 10:18:19
Looks like stoke city are telling porkies then JOHN 25 . Did rangers withdraw intrest too sgl? Hahaha.

24 Jan 2020 22:32:34
Celticoeb, john posted his comment yesterday, what's your excuse.

23 Jan 2020 17:28:02
I no it wasn't great last night, but I would take a 1 nil win in every one of our remaining league games, any side would miss alfredo its not just his goal scoring its the way he runs defences ragged, so its onwards and upwards to tynecasle on sunday for another big game.

23 Jan 2020 15:42:48
Interesting strategy selling youth players but including an option that allows us to buy them back.
Be interesting to see how this works In the future.

23 Jan 2020 16:34:00
Think its a no brainer john, if they come good we have first dibs👍.

23 Jan 2020 16:49:44
Most big clubs do it. Good business sense for us.

23 Jan 2020 18:25:19
Yes coldo a no brainer. Why we only stRted doing it.

23 Jan 2020 18:31:23
It's a good sign that we are being properly run with the future in mind john 👍.

23 Jan 2020 19:11:31
Yes I’m liking what this new guy is trying to do.
How could mark Allen not implement things like this.

23 Jan 2020 19:33:36
Prob part of the reason why he's not here anymore john👍.

23 Jan 2020 20:14:24
Bravo👏 coldo.

23 Jan 2020 21:02:44
John yea its angood thing, this way we can see what. The player can do, as most of them wouldn't be getting first team footie at our place, as league is too importent to chance youngsters, unless absolutly nessesery, ie patterson.

23 Jan 2020 23:20:40
Another who doesn't get sarcasm, well played mr grumpy👏👍.

24 Jan 2020 10:45:45
Sarcasm Coldo? On this site.

23 Jan 2020 14:04:46
Ok guys an gals some of us including myself are a bit concerned about our chances this season so here is something to reflect on .

RANGERS MEMORIES

I wish we had a time machine.
Our club would be the best it's been.
We wouldn't let the tax man win.
It was our Davie done the sin.
We paid the price for his demeanour.
While he drove around his brand new beamer.
Oh yes he got us to the top.
But also sent us to the drop.

I'd take us back to start again.
But legal and with decent men.
We'd pay our dues like any other.
And respect our board just like our brother.
We'd win our trophies fair and square.
And be miles in front with points to spare.

We would not need to sell to White.
Would be because we did things right.
We would not even sell to Green.
Our club would be the best we've seen.
We would not suffer all this pain.
Then all we'd do is win again.

Now we're back here in this day.
We have to fight on come what may.
Let Stevie lead us to the end.
Don't let them drive us round the bend.
We can get back up never fear.
I hope and pray it is this year.

23 Jan 2020 14:50:15
Absolutely Brilliant Bluebilly, well written Son, and certainly echo's how I also feel.

23 Jan 2020 15:20:39
even the great bard couldn't have written it any better.

23 Jan 2020 16:22:42
Excellent, sums it up!

23 Jan 2020 17:14:20
Get that framed.

23 Jan 2020 19:34:25
Is it just me that thinks its a bit cringey😂👍.

23 Jan 2020 20:44:43
Maybe it's just my old age kicking in, but I thought we won all our trophies fair and square? What do you mean "we'd win our trophies fair and square" Bluebilly? Think you should have penned that line "we won our trophies fair and square", other than that not a bad attempt.

23 Jan 2020 21:06:22
Op we would not need to sell to green, bless our club, god save the queen.

23 Jan 2020 21:25:44
Boredom leads to electronic games and other assorted bad habits, such as laboured poetry.

23 Jan 2020 13:59:03
If we get Tyrese Campbell that could improve the wing/ attacking no 10 we need going forward. next transfer window will be critical and interesting where it goes.

23 Jan 2020 16:06:41
CarbolicGerrard, Campbell is just a young kid who has lately begun to develop in his career, he is not going to come in and hit the ground running like some sort of saviour - even if we were to sign him, which is highly unlikely.

23 Jan 2020 16:37:30
He’s a young kid that merits a great future ahead of him and fits the business model we currently follow. any money you had the same main when Fredo and Kent joined
Since when does improve = saviour
I rest my case.

23 Jan 2020 18:57:04
You didn't say the player would improve, you said the player would improve us, a completely different proposition. You expect this kid would come straight into the team and improve us. No. He might have a bright future (but he doesn't merit it, he'd have to earn it), he does fit our business model, but he's not going to improve us right away as you suggest. The rest of your post is just stupid.

23 Jan 2020 21:08:34
Carbolicgerrard, that's a terrible handle mate, sounds insulting too our gaffer in my opinion. mate.

23 Jan 2020 13:28:57
So after or loss at home last nite where does the team go from here with out tav and morelos? All seriousness. Tav was missed going forward morelos is missed as twice the player of defoe. But we have won v 2 teams that have parked the bus with out getting caught on the break. Also people banging on about the form they want to see b4 the winter break is pretty funny. As previous to tims game we scraped by killie 1 nil at ibrox and threw away a very comfortable 2 goal lead v aberdeen. Fact of the matter is previous season we havwnt been able to break them down more often that not we used to draw them games or get hit on break and get beat. For me i would play paterson on sunday v hearts. And defoes last game starting before morelos back playing. 1 thing i do look at tho is how weak our bench is even with the size of the squad. Guys like halliday should now be nowhere near even the bench will be astonished if he's aloud to stay into next season.

23 Jan 2020 16:14:27
Why are we relying on a RB to provide attacking threat down the right? Shouldn't we be questioning why our any of our RF is not a providing the attacking threat we need. I thought flanagan did fine last night, he doesn't give us the attacking threat like tav but defensively he was sound and he has to start at hearts. Paul is right about our bench, said the same weeks ago. 👍.

23 Jan 2020 17:51:27
Paul very disrespectful to Defoe, Morelos isn’t twice the player and should maybe aspire to be the type of player Defoe is ie a model professional 37 years of age 3rd top scorer in the league majority of time as a sub agree with a lot of your posts but not that comment.

23 Jan 2020 18:33:40
Just a wer point from your first line Paul. Sfter our loss at home? I was there and I convinced myself that we won?

23 Jan 2020 19:14:16
Herewego Paul’s first sentence sarcasm, reading on here some don’t realise we took three points.

23 Jan 2020 19:36:03
Atleast somebody got it john. all the doom and gloom compared to after the celtic game even tho we won. Also he's maybe not twice the player but is definately better hence why morelos is 1st choice.

23 Jan 2020 21:14:34
Paul86., i recon our bench is poor because of the length of contracts pedro gave to half his friends, were still paying for his and warbotond lengthy contracts to guys that weren't good enough.

24 Jan 2020 01:46:58
RF KLAXON!

23 Jan 2020 13:21:28
Just for the sake of it, if SG did decide to bring in a Hatley type of target man, who would you fancy?
Would it suit us going forward, or would it upset out style too much?

23 Jan 2020 11:07:16
wasnt the best game, pretty flat, but a win is a win and this game won't be remembered.
'Parking the bus' is a tactic used by many teams, we have done it before. It can be very effective. The poorer team is always going to sit deep and break up play, turn the crowd against there own support, and hope to get that one chance they manage to put away. As many of us have said, last season and before that would have been a draw or a loss for us. We are finding a way to win ugly games and that's a very very good thing.

23 Jan 2020 12:15:54
Agreed.

23 Jan 2020 15:19:22
You are right, that sort of game was the sort that we slipped up in last season. I just wish that sometimes the midfielders could put a shot in when we are just outside the box, instead of this continual passing game, anything could happen as a result of a shot on target from that distance. Nitpicking I suppose, but it was frustrating to watch last night!

23 Jan 2020 11:05:41
Don't laugh, but Kenny Miller is moving on from the Jags. Wouldn't he be worth picking up until the end of the season as back-up to Morelos and Defoe. He's done it all before and could be a good impact sub and it wouldn't bother him sitting on the bench most games at this stage of his career. Any thoughts?

23 Jan 2020 11:45:52
We've never really heard the behind the scenes reason for Miller and Wallace getting fined by the club. Just an argument in the dressing room after the Celtic game? Doubt it. Anyway taking your employer to a court of arbitration is never a clever move. They won but best example of a pyrrhic victory. The club wouldn't take him back.

23 Jan 2020 12:07:09
DOIGER I don't think it's a bad shout. He could work with the young guys and could still do a job till the end of the season.

23 Jan 2020 12:39:50
Has April Fools Day came early? 😂😂😂.

23 Jan 2020 13:19:23
Yeah your right. I did laugh. Just a bit tho.

23 Jan 2020 15:57:33
Well I'd have Miller before Ojo any day. Shame some people on here can't offer positive comments instead of ridiculing others.

23 Jan 2020 16:08:48
OMG, we're now straying away from fantasy island into looneyland.

23 Jan 2020 09:51:36
Folks, would you have taken a scintillating performance with us playing them off the park, having hit the woodwork and getting a penalty saved, only to draw?

Three points is all that mattered last night, I'd rather be rusty just now than in a few weeks when we come up against harder opposition.

We know we can perform to a much higher standard and that WILL come.

23 Jan 2020 12:18:14
100% agreed. Also for all the Tav haters, we really missed him last night on the overlap. Flanno a better defender but going forward, missed a spark. If Stewart is injured, Mebude needs to be on the bench. And no sign of Jones last night on the bench unless I missed it.

23 Jan 2020 12:42:48
Couldn't agree more. We can't and won't win every game 4/5/6 nil at a canter.

Jones was on the bench last night.

23 Jan 2020 13:09:46
Ibrox4me Jones was an unused sub.

23 Jan 2020 13:36:10
I’m always perplexed by the criticism Tav gets on here. I’ll be even more perplexed if it continues, especially after witnessing the alternative last night. Tav is a very, very good footballer.

23 Jan 2020 14:45:52
Bruise bear u seem to miss the point re tav, yes he is playing better as a defender but is not the answer long term
I do wonder why there are not a host off bids for him.

No one says tomy reading that Flanagan, Polster or Paterson are better than tav. What I read is we need a right back who is better at defending than all off them .
Tav has many assist, but has sold more goals Flanagan does not deliver on assist, Polster not the standard and only time can tell re the young lad.

23 Jan 2020 16:20:28
Take a scruffy 1-0 win in every game from now until season ends if it meant winning the league.

23 Jan 2020 17:19:45
Ah just missed hearing Jones read out. I would have been tempted to have brought him on after an hour when the game went flat. I’m not a fan of Ojo and will not be disappointed when he goes however he looked sharper last night for his cameo. JJ is ours though and should get game time so we can see what he’s capable of.

23 Jan 2020 17:38:55
John25. Why’s he not the answer? He’s probably or best right back since Gary Stevens. He’s a modern, attacking right back playing in a team that doesn’t do or need a lot of defending.

23 Jan 2020 18:30:56
Bruisebear because in my opinion he is responsible for too many the goals we concede.
It’s all about opinions mate.

23 Jan 2020 21:22:10
John25, i agree, and it always seams in really important games tav seams to make his mistakes, or should i say at very important times, mate.

23 Jan 2020 09:41:00
"Rusty Rangers stay two points behind Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership after struggling to victory over resolute visitors St Mirren"
There's the BBC website heading this morning. Not bias, are they?

23 Jan 2020 10:53:53
I couldn’t find a fault in that headline we looked rusty it was a poor performance we struggled last night was just not good enough We need to get back to pre winter break levels of performance.

23 Jan 2020 11:04:15
Doiger, in fairness resolute was a mild description. Rough, Rank Rotten or rabid could have better described our performance. Think BBC were fair if not mild on us.

23 Jan 2020 11:47:13
Since when were the BBC fair to us? According to them against Stranraer, they had the higher percentage of possession!

23 Jan 2020 13:45:00
Doiger, ime with you on this one mate, the beeb have tried to run our club down, more so since we had a tiff with them regarding there man getting banned from our place, never had any time for them, especially since they tried to cover up the jim will fix it chap, and many other employed people at there place, llepard never changes its spots.

23 Jan 2020 09:37:07
This place can be incredibly negative at times, reading some of the comments on here you think we'd thrown away the league last night. St Mirren came to park the bus and it can be incredibly difficult to break down (We should know as we did that all the way to Manchester) . Yes we miss Morelos and last night proved that we are a far better team with Tav than without despite the odd defensive mistake.

For all those saying just sign a top quality 3rd striker, what decent striker is going to want to come and sit on the bench/ not get in the team. I'll put the Football Manager/ Fifa aside and trust the judgement of Gerrard thanks.

23 Jan 2020 10:06:44
Top quality permanent striker won’t come in until Morelos sold in summer, but another option in on loan might be a good idea. Defoe done his job last night but offered little else apart from that finish.60 mins or so gone and it would have been nice to have another guy who could have came on and offered something different. There will be guys up for coming in who are maybe not playing at current club that could do us a turn for rest of the season.

23 Jan 2020 11:00:22
we won't buy a top end striker till morelos leaves. Its pretty simple. He goes, first place is up for grabs, we have money then to spend on a top striker.

23 Jan 2020 12:04:07
i’m not suggesting for a min we need to go out and splash cash on a top quality / start every wk / 1st choice fwd

there are plenty players who yes, wld come to ibrox for prestige money trophies career enhancement call it what you want even if just to get on bench

yes we have fredo but i’m not naive enough to think he’ll be here forever and at 36 how many yrs does JD have left

even a loan to give us that extra firepower from bench in tight games or as ins policy in case fredo JD get inj / susp

i like stewart and the lad has a knack of getting goals / assists but to me it’s clear gerrard doesn’t rate him as he hardly ever gets a sniff

i’ve been going to Ibrox 30yrs so it's just my opinion lads but another fwd for me cld just help us over line for 55.

23 Jan 2020 12:23:45
Trev agree totally with your post.

I’d like a right sided forward who can and has played through the middle.
For next season I’d love to see Campbell at rangers.

23 Jan 2020 13:52:23
Trev, although i agree with most of your post, i don't agree with the defoe part, he will still be banging goals in for another 3 or 4 years mate, his signing was a masterstroke by s. g. Imo.

23 Jan 2020 21:26:26
Bairdy90, defoe has always been just a goal scorer, but a very very good one, at that, without him last night we might have dropped pretious points, points that could have been hard to recoup mate.

23 Jan 2020 08:47:50
Wtf was that last night. that's 2 very poor teams we have failed to do some real damage to. sure we've won but before the celtic game we would've put these teams to bed before half time. I've slated tav in the past, but totally different team without him.

not bringing morelos into it because we've won convincingly without him this season before. but tav not in game. Need to get our act together as the performance won't cut it against slightly better teams, never mind celtic.

anyone really think if we played like that 3 weeks ago against them we would've won? Not a chance. c'mon rangers. just because you have had a holiday in dubai, don't mean yous have made it to the big time. win the league and i will forever hold my peace.

23 Jan 2020 09:10:33
Celtic won't sit for 90 mins with 10 mien behind the ball wanting us to break them down. So totally irrelevant. Celtic have also struggled at home to break teams like this down this season. There is a massive diff in the team without morelos tho. Defoe does not carry the same threat.

23 Jan 2020 09:14:20
Stop. We cut it against Celtic in December and Morelos didn't score and was sent off. Get a grip man!

23 Jan 2020 09:22:24
St Mirren came to park the bus manager said they would park the bus we missed tav and Morelos we got the win they had 1 shot whole game and that wasn’t on target get a grip man plus we were rusty as usual after break.

23 Jan 2020 09:32:36
Yea stop just be thankful we won . lemons assertion of that performance if he was in charge would be . we played magnificent. some amazing football but it would just not go in the net .

We did play well at times and the few times st Mirren attacked in the last ten min . our counter was always on . we would have drew that game in the past.

23 Jan 2020 09:39:50
There must surely be a way to brek down park the bus teams (apart from a JCB) the manks can do it most of the time so why not us? .

23 Jan 2020 09:47:57
Paul86 is bang on guys. So difficult playing against teams that park 2 buses (Goodwin's phrase, not mine) . Remember they struggled at home against Hamilton and only scraped through due to an injury time goal. The Hearts game will be different as they will be expected to try and score against us.

Games against Celtic will take care of themselves as both teams are always trying to win the match. The over reaction on here is astonishing. Mind you, I would be happier with a couple of incomings before the end of the window as if injuries and suspensions happen (which they will) we will be stretched given the trimming of the squad.

23 Jan 2020 09:55:06
Last season we would have drawn that game, or probably even lost.
It was an ugly win, but will take ugly win.

23 Jan 2020 12:42:47
We did break them down. Just the once, which was enough and stood firm at the other end to claim the 3 points.
What’s the issue?

23 Jan 2020 21:33:23
Mr pacman, yip, i agree, imagine the meltdown we would have on here if we hadnt scored.

23 Jan 2020 08:44:46
Does anyone agree with me that looking at our subs shows we have a weak squad and if we where to lose Alf n Tav we would be screwed.

23 Jan 2020 09:23:04
Tav is the biggest miss for me without him we ve no one that can cross from the right first time, Aribo won’t even control the ball with right boot never mind cross with it, good player but not for that position long term, looks better with tav in the team as it gets mixed up a bit and tav will overlap. I was nt in the “we need another striker camp” but I now feel we maybe do as if it’s not working in a game for Defoe then we need another option. I can see why we won’t add one as we will sell in summer and want to use our funds for that replacement. loan striker for me this window. Would like a RF but we re overloaded with players that can play the role to a certain extent so can’t see it.

23 Jan 2020 13:58:28
Couly, tav can't cross the ball from the right first time.

23 Jan 2020 08:43:04
Although a relatively flat performance from us against st. mirren, getting the 3 points was the most important. Thought borna barisic was easily the best player on the park and certainly my motm.

23 Jan 2020 09:24:47
I thought it was Borna for MOTM aswell, not sure how Aribo got it, thought he played ok but wants the ball on that left side to much, won’t ever cross with right foot.

23 Jan 2020 08:34:02
There's too much doom and gloom on here these days. Not along ago we were almost hysterical when we beat that lot at the Piggery. We've beaten Stranraer and St Mirren, that's what counts and have only lost one league game all season. One man, or two, doesn't make a team. Defoe did what he was in the team to do, score goals. What if Morelos had been playing last night and scored the only goal. We'd be praising him again like the Messiah, not a naughty boy (sorry, tribute to the great, late Terry Jones who has passed away) . Celtic were only 2-1 up at Rugby Park last night with 15 minutes to go so they are hardly thrashing teams either. Let's get behind the Bears. There's a tough away game to come on Sunday at Tynecastle. What changes would anyone suggest we make for Sunday's game? We are still in pole position in the league, it is ours to lose.

I agree a win is a win. I don’t think Gerrard will change much for Sunday apart from maybe rotate Arfield in to start for someone. Possibly after bugging up ojo after the game he might put him in as we have been a little short of creativity last two games. Aribo will get the nod though I reckon, ojo start v Ross county midweek more likely.

Ojo should mb get a run, he showed more in fifteen minutes than others.
I’d definitely keep Flannigan in at tynecastle.

Just checking we did win last night? 🤔
Playing poorly and winning, that's the sign of a good side.

Well said Mr Grumpy, if we win a game 7-0 people will still complain. I’ll take three points every game for now.

Gerrard delighted with the performance of his defence! Can someone remind him it was St mirren we were up against not Barcelona! And struggling to create chances against them and tiny Stranraer is not impressive and praise for Ohno who has been rubbish the majority of his time here. Really!
