Lafferty's introduction had a big impact today. I have never been his biggest fan but credit where credit due, we know where his heart lies, and he had big positive impact in difficult circumstances today.

i’m not his biggest fan either but the lad gives everything for the jersey and most import he gives us the option to go more direct
he had 2 cleared of the line (shd prob have scored) but won flick on for tav to cross for the winner also put himself about won some tackles and headers, came short to let fredo run in behind for winner and changed tempo of the game
up till he came on st. john bullied us and bossed it
id start laff and fredo up top next 2 games we need to pose teams more of threat earlier in games.

Id love to see us simply go for it against septic. i'm not saying we would hump them because truth be told they have a better squad and bonded team. But on our day we are capable as proven in Europe against far better teams than septic. We are 3 or 4 players short of the Rangers standard. I've watched celtic ruin opportunity on many occasions when their on top through a lack of squad investment. Some would say shrewd business sense, some would say penny pinching.
I've watched us implode with the 10 in a row obsession. that's where it started. I read their "ignore" the 90s and 00s glory posts and smile because I see what's coming. Anyway fellow bears have a great xmas and follow we will. Fingers crossed that we show them what were made of and they leave with something to think about. No laps of cringey honour, no spitting, no scarf tying nonsense. Applaud the fans. Walk off with real dignity. Simply smile.

If by 'Rangers standard' you mean all those teams in the past who have battled and shone to deliver us entertaiment, joy and trophies in abundance - we are eight or nine players short. We're progressing well, the past 6 months have been a revolution and a revelation, and Stevie G will eventually deliver, but there's a long way to go before we can start saying this team is 'Rangers standard'.

Agree on McGregor and possibly Alfredo Rangers class. The rest need to take a long hard look st themselves. It's not always skill you need but a big heart to play for Rangers.

Scotty 123. Rossiter. mcrorie Flanagan. Jack. Grezda. No where near good enough to play for us. SG. Is sick of Rossiter and barisic constantly injured. When I say a big heart I mean constantly make yourself available. John Brown style. I agree the 80s team weren't perfect. jordan Jones. Davies and a goalscoring midfielder we have a chance. We miss Murphy.

I think the fans who say they don’t rate him are just too stubborn to change their first opinion of him. He gets refereed to a different standard bc refs have the stereotype of him being a hothead when he arrived.

Arthur d, There was plenty of said morelos haters, calling for his head because he got himself sent off afew times this season, I'm pretty sure he has made up for that, when was the last time we had a striker who has nearly 20 goals before Xmas? Maybe a few people on here criticized him but not sure anyone actually hated him. Think some people still need to be convinced about him and he really needs to start scoring against Celtic to be considered a great Rangers striker. Let’s hope he breaks his duck on Saturday.

Posted missing for the goal and clearly not match fit, coupled with the fact he has hardly kicked a ball for best part of 2 years and the fact he was very average at best in our first season back means no he really should be nowhere near the team for the next 2 games. If he starts next weekend forrest will rip him a new one all game long. unFortunately i think he will start both games in another puzzling team selection from gerrard.
P. s. My opinion based on his ability as a player and not the off field stuff. Firmly believe the min any player shows a rangers manager dissent or disrespect regardless of how bad the manager is they should never play for the club again. I also hate murty with a passion and agree with what was said. Wonder if the knock on effect is being felt by gerrard now and his constant complaints about players not listening to him.

Why is he getting the blame for their goal? Watch the goal again he went with one of their players who ran into the middle. If that guy had scored he would have been blamed.

Halliday is a far superior LB so it's unlikely we need to worry about putting Wallace in. More worrying is that Coulibaly plays. I love SG and have full faith in him but my word, what on earth does he see in Coulibaly? The guy is mince, and tatties for that matter.

The guy is brutal. Just because he's a rangers man doesn't make him a good player. People say Wallace was missing for their goal. halliday sold himself and ended up sliding off the park for some reason. Wallace is a club legend for what he has done over the years. He obviously lacks match sharpness, but halliday is a terrible, terrible football player.

So after a substitute appearance we are slating Wallace and blaming him for the poor performance of a whole team. Nobody knows exactly what was said and done with that whole debacle but I doubt Miller or Wallace said anything that any one of us wouldn't have said to that team after that result. Give the guy a break, he could easily have left and went and made a serious amount of cash elsewhere but instead he chose to stay and help us fight back to the top. People again are just looking for 1 person to blame when in reality it was a poor performance from a team that got the most important thing . . . 3 points.

Lee wallace is the best left back we now have available, for both the hibs and celtic games! Now that barisic is out injured, i put my trust in lee wallace! Get behind the guy, for god's sake! Wallace into the bargain, will always deserve a place in the rangers fans hearts, as far as i'm concerned! He's been a terrific servant to rangers and very loyal to rangers, all along. Will always have a soft spot for waldo!

He clearly needs some match sharpness but I was happy to see him back for me barasic is the number one left back by a mile but if he is out i'd go with a fit lee Wallace over Halliday and Flanagan all day long.

Wallace was on the pitch for a few minutes before the goal. Haven't seen it back yet but regardless should be given a break if he did lose a runner as he's been out for over a year! And Wallace is better than halliday and flannigan combined at left back. If barisic is out the Wallace must play.

Sometimes you can lose a goal through a good piece of skill. The boy Kennedy suckered everybody by cutting on to his left. We had bodies throwing themselves in front of it but the finish was unsaveable. I heard Tommy Wright say that he thought both of our goals had bedn preventable. Middleton's cross is inch perfect and Morelos pops up between the defenders to head the ball down and into the net. Nobody is at blame imo. Morelos's winner was simply a sensational finish. If he had been playing against one of the world's best centre halves the outcome would have been the same imo. Sometimes you can't do anything about a goal. Sometimes it is all about pure skill and/ or being at the right place at the right time.

The way steven gerrard is talking, it will take at least £15million, for him to even consider selling our goalscoring genius, fredo morelos! He's a top class striker and will go on to become an absolute amazing striker, who will improve, year on year! Don't know where we would be without him! Its already between him and mcgregor, for the rangers player of the year. I reckon morelos will top 30 goals for us this season! He's our louis suarez, like i've said before! Similar in style, to the way both like to play! If that edouard is worth £9million, then morelos is worth easily double that! Morelos a far better striker than celtic's edouard!

The reason goldson is struggling is because week in week out he's got a different partner, how then can there be any understanding, the most important thing in a team is an understanding between the two central defenders and the goalkeeper, if that keeps changing we will struggle in defense, Ps worral is rubbish.

That might be true to an extent about goldson but he's making errors that are nothing to do with who's playing at centre back with him. From Kiernan and Wilson to Martin and Bates now to this season I've never known a team struggle so much with high bouncing balls.

We cannot keep starting games so casually and giving the opposition a goal start. Worrall and goldson going for the same balls, leaving big gaps, do they not talk to each other? we urgently need a ferguson type player for the defence to pass out to instead of those long punts into touch. first half was awful, but the more direct approach seemed to unsettle st johnstone in the second half. maybe that's the way to go? Thank god for Alfredo, he misses the easy ones and puts away the hard ones, easy to see why Gerrard rates him so highly!

To be fair, Lafferty wasn't that bad. I mentioned him because he had just missed a great chance, which is the usual for him to be fair. 2 up front caused them more problems and allowed Alfredo to come into the game more. Might be worth doing that more often against these wee diddy teams that just play a block.

Something has to be done to address the fact that it takes no pressure to score against us. We have 2 thirds of the ball and are camped inside other teams halves yet they go forward once and get a goal. Doesn't matter who plays in defence I don't feel confident when the ball goes near any of them.

Teams always get chances against us, we are poor at them back, centre backs constantly giving ball away, nothing going forward, can’t believe we paid 2 million for Grezda as he’s the worst I’ve ever seen in a blue jersey, offers nothing, looks scared! Porteous is definitely showing a lot of potential but my problem with this is I wouldn’t give Hibs the steam of my sh*te let alone money.
Hibs are a joke to deal with as are Aberdeen.
If we were taking players from either club I would just wait and sign players on pre contracts that want to come to us and give them not a single penny.

My fear is we don't sign a striker in January and an attacking goal scoring midfielder we won't stop 10 in a row as they will strengthen again now the know our threat is closer. Get Hardie back from loan in January. His goals to minutes ratio is better than the other league top scorers. Maybe Hardie and Shankland can add strength to our strike force and take the pressure of Alfredo? I know I bang on about Hardie but he is a goalscorer.
