Has anybody tried to get there money back from word pay concerning not getting the game last night?

23 Aug 2019 20:42:22
So, we say we are the best, our fans are amazing and the rest are below us.

Unfortunately days like today point to the fact the our modern day fans are not living up to the traditions of the club - upstanding, respectful and supportive.

Times have changed and whether we thing these songs were once acceptable and relevant or not, they are not now and have not been relevant for many years.

Similarly, we have too many boo boys and naysayers pretending to be supporters but when we hit a bump in the road they are falling over each other to criticise a player, the manager or the board.

Let today be a watershed, we don't want you if you cannot get behind the club, players and managers and show support in good and bad times.

Too many people are sweating hard to put the club back to where it belongs and sniping from the sidelines does not help.

I don't care if you are experts on FIFA financial wizards who know better than our current board.

Keep you negativity to yourselves and help the club back to where it belongs

End of rant!

23 Aug 2019 20:59:36
Well said Sir.

23 Aug 2019 21:11:14
I used to sing these songs, as a kid, on the supporters bus with my dad. Have no idea when I stopped, I think in my teens when I started going by car. Skip forward to the Hibs game trying to explain to my son about the only time 2 kings of Scotland, ireland and England faced each other in battle 17th. century. Findlay (my youngest) "long way to go for a fight dad" after I'd stopped crying laughing I just agreed with him. So my cure for sectarian songs, try explaining them to a 7 year old simples.

23 Aug 2019 21:18:30
Very well put DK19.I have came through all the good times and the bad times and have always given my club, the famous glasgow rangers, my undying love and support, through thick and thin for 40 odd years now. I absolutely adore our football club. Again mate a cracking post and very well put!

23 Aug 2019 21:24:27
Dk if we didn't have the "boo boys" or the "naysayer" as you put it, I prefer to use the term realist. These people that you slate are the very ones who demand the high standards and traditions that you speak off and they let it be known when players fall below those standards. Surely you see the irony in your ill thought out rant👍

I fully agree with your thoughts on the songs. 👍.

23 Aug 2019 21:25:02
Well said DK.

23 Aug 2019 21:41:47
Not condoning the songs nor condemning them because if we are all going to be honest I’d put my mortgage that most of not everyone on here slating the singers has at some point been to a game most likely an euro tie or old firm and got caught up in the moment and sang the songs. Go behind or rough tackle whole stadium goes into a chorus of no surrender. Not saying it’s right and probably should stop but maybe don’t jump on the do good band wagon when chances are you’ve been guilty at some point yourself. Out of curiosity Iv not read as of yet. Does anyone know what songs they are giving the ban for.

23 Aug 2019 21:56:50
Great rant DK, well said sir.

23 Aug 2019 22:50:16
Chrisgf4 - spot on mate we all get caught up in the moment some of us have even married someone who would be appalled at the songs being sung.
However can we not even tweak the words to various songs
The Billy Boys which is great to get the whole stadium jumping is sung in various guises all over Scotland and no one questions it because 3 or 4 words are different WAKEN UP ITS 2019.

23 Aug 2019 23:13:24
I've followed Rangers for nearly 60 years, and I fully endorse what DK has said, we must come into the 21st Century and stop this, why any so called fan would want to hurt our Club I don't know. but it has to stop.

23 Aug 2019 23:16:52
👍yes DK19.

24 Aug 2019 09:03:26
Some very good posts in this lot. This reflects very badly on our club but how do we change it for the better
All it takes is some nutter with not a whole lot of brains to shout Hello Hello at the old firm game and off you go
I was at ibrox at new year game and it was a fantastic day but there was plenty of singing that was offensive
Why can’t we sing Penny arcade and other fantastic songs
Forgot the songs that mentions anything to do with paramilitary or religious wars
FFS let’s move on
If these songs start we should boo them down
I am happy for you to have your thoughts and beliefs
But ibrox is not the place.
My mate has his kid at Celtic park on Thursday for the European game would I go to his house this weekend and call him a FB no would I shout at him No I would not so don’t bring it to ibrox
If you feel the need to shout this P15H
Get the train out to the middle of nowhere and find a field and shout your head off but not at Ibrox as it’s offensive to all of us.

24 Aug 2019 20:26:58
The club and its history and traditions sets the standards. The reason we have such a huge support is because of those standards and traditions.

You do not make people or players better by slagging them off (read any coaching or management book you can find), you do it by training, encouraging and supporting them.

We are where we are, there is no Laudrup, Gazza, Butcher or even a Ronaldo in the list of possible signings so we must make do with who we play at any given time. Booing a player from the sidelines will not make them better but encouraging and supporting him just might.

Of course we will always have players who just ain’t good enough but I guarantee that the manager and coaching staff will support them until the time comes for them to move on.

Now I’ve asked you before, your opinions and thought differ from our managers, explain why you know better.

24 Aug 2019 20:33:40
Would be dead easy to change words btw. Maybe the club should hire a songwriter to tweak some of the more famous ones. Like how hard would it be to change "fenian blood” to "Celtic’s tears” or something like that?

23 Aug 2019 20:42:45
Why not just remove the entire section of UBs as part of the 3000 seat reduction, If they are to blame.
PS are we the only ones to have this sanction, does anybody know of anybody else whos had this type of punishment. What about all that stuff Raheem Sterling put up with did the clubs receive sanctions. i'm getting really fed up with this pish. Fare enough to receive punishment buts its got to be fare across the board. Maybe we should have VAR for supporters.

23 Aug 2019 20:42:03
Ryan jack has quite rightly been getting fantastic reviews on here from us supporters, regarding how well he's been playing for us, practically since steven gerrard arrived at ibrox. Does anyone else think that ryan jack will stay his full career at rangers, although i know he started off at the sheep mob? I think he just seems the type to stay with the club he clearly loves playing for and supports. Not to mention like most already agree with, that he is a future glasgow rangers captain in the making. He is playing some stuff and is an unsung hero.

23 Aug 2019 20:53:49
I think RJ will stay at Rangers for the majority of his career and probably like some go to the US for the last 1 or 2 years then back to Sco to be a manger or coach. I predict and hope that he will turn out to be a legend we all look back on. More reliable than gravity.

23 Aug 2019 20:54:21
I’ve raved about Ryan Jack every game Supercoop he’s been my MOTM every game so far apart from last nite. Steve Davis ran the show. I would love to think he would stay but you can’t blame these guys if they treble there wages.

23 Aug 2019 21:12:55
A real class act and the besr midfielder in the country.

23 Aug 2019 21:23:08
Totally agree Seeker.

23 Aug 2019 21:23:47
Ryan jack must surely be picked to play for his country this time. Stevie clarke you know it makes sense. He is currently the best scottish midfielder in scotland,
simple as that! There's no scottish midfielder playing better than ryan jack is just now, in his position.
Absolutely nobody.

23 Aug 2019 22:56:56
SGL - Ryan Jack will never be a signing for top English teams. He has a gold lined contract and will go nowhere. Unfortunately in my view he will become the Rangers Broonie, Capta8n and driving force certainly but he has found his level and will do very well for him and his family
Not a criticism but but good luck to him I wish I was young and gifted as him to be in that position.

23 Aug 2019 23:17:50
Ryan Jack is a terrific player, and definite Captain material, I hope he stays with us for many years, he reminds me of wee Doddie in some respects.

24 Aug 2019 09:20:13
A wee question for yourself, BAR72.
With all due respect pal, how do you know how far in the game ryan jack could go and the level he could play at, with a relatively decent size english club? Because scott brown chose to stay here in scotland in his comfort level, doesn't mean to say ryan jack is similar. I want ryan jack to stay here with rangers as i rate him highly, but i do think he could play in england no problem, like i stated, with a decent english club. Look what john mcginn has went down and done at aston villa. I feel ryan jack could equal that sort of impact that mcginn has made, down south.

23 Aug 2019 20:33:48
UEFA delegate Gary O'Hagan, who was previously employed by Hibs, SFA and Celtic ( surprise, surprise ) was the man responsible for reporting the fans even though he only took up his position AFTER the St Josephs game!
This is why Rangers fans need to take responsibility for our own fans indiscretions and police ourselves.
This will help to stop those with an open agenda to destroy our club by any means possible by giving them no ammunition to taint our great club. 👍.

23 Aug 2019 22:02:33
LET'S GO, as much as I agree with sentiment. Policing ourselves going to be difficult because neanderthals can't police. As basic as it sounds still think only way is true fans shouting/ booing them down.

23 Aug 2019 19:55:58
I was right with my post earlier in saying rangers could close separate parts of the ground. Bf1 closing and 2 sections in club deck.

23 Aug 2019 20:45:11
Club deck 6 is definitely closed. I have been sent a paper ticket.

23 Aug 2019 19:34:13
Rangers anounce BF1 closed, fans not to be allocated new seats
Club deck 6 and 7 closed, fans to berelacated.

23 Aug 2019 19:33:46
I HOPE THOSE DAFT TWITS OF OUR FANS READ THIS! singing recist songs and sectarian songs has now got Ibrox section closed off. 3000 supporters are now out of the game that can take this team to a new level due to there childish behaviour. I for one can't stand all this crap. It's football not a war. look at the fan standing either way of you, they could be white, black, Chinese, polish, afgan, or any other race. that effects our fans also not just the team we are playing against. youse are utterly stupid and I hope you get banned if they find the idiots!

Sorry ED for the rant. And also sorry for the Ibrox ( actual faithful ) for the rant.

Thoughts on this guy's?

And ED if you could do a poll. Kick out the people that are doing this to our beloved team.

{Ed001's Note - you need to give more than one option for a poll mate!}

23 Aug 2019 22:58:51
Was away on work!
Missed game
What did they sing?

23 Aug 2019 19:05:54
I agree with most that the stupid sectarian songs should stop, but it has to be enforced on all clubs doing it, if anyone watched the second half of the Celtic game last night, they would have clearly heard sectarian singing. Can't have one rule for one.

23 Aug 2019 19:30:42
Who cares what THEY do?!

23 Aug 2019 19:46:32
I wouldn’t bet on it, probably liewell who reported it.

23 Aug 2019 20:02:32
F**k celtic mate. let's bother about our own club and get our own house in order! As the great bill struth said, "let us be leaders and lead the way, we welcome the chase"!

23 Aug 2019 20:46:06
The kilmarnock CEO was the UEFA delegate. Bit of a coincidence all the bother between the clubs and its him who reports us to UEFA? Don't condone it and I'd happily ban anyone spouting the nonsense as I've said before. But surely appointing a delegate from a club were in dispute with is something which should never happen?

23 Aug 2019 21:31:11
We talk ex Celtic guy or killie ceo.
Uefa report refers to their Norwegian match delegate.
As my boy used to say as a five year old, do the crime do the time.
As dk says this is our watershed moment, let’s grasp it and deliver.

24 Aug 2019 04:23:06
What dispute are we in with Killie?

23 Aug 2019 18:59:34
Well done to the knuckle draggers for getting a section of the ground closed for the home tie with Legia 👏👏👏

If this is what it's going to take to kick the fans into the 21st century then so be it.

23 Aug 2019 18:57:52
I came home from the st joes game n posted concerning the cavemen songs as i was in bf1 am not part of ub n could not get my round the songs they were sining. Even more so to the fact uefa reps where at the game. So now we have the outcome. Well done ubs. You must be so proud of yourselfs and what you have done for this club. As i said its not time for it to stop but end it.

23 Aug 2019 18:51:46
Thought we played well in the main. Legia are no mugs and we became a bit edgy in the second half.

No doubt we have the ability to go through but will have to be at our best for what will be a nervous evening where Ibrox needs to be loud in support.

23 Aug 2019 18:25:11
Thought game last night was a good match and let's be honest could have gone either way. At corners flanagan continually couldn't cope with that tall guy. Ojo as far I could see in the second half wasn't tracking back and they got to that inside left position and got a few shots off. I hope JJ starts on Thur, just feel he's more effective. If we click we will beat them at Ibrox but if we have any slackers they will punish us. Thought Alf was unlucky on his one on one, the keeper came out very quickly and the only way to score was between the keepers legs. Ojo should have scored his header best chance of the game. Still not convinced with Ojo, needs to step up 2 or 3 levels to match his price tag. Ryan Jack is maturing into a fine player and must be in the next Scotland squad.
ATB for the weekend Bears and let's hope for a good result on Sunday.

23 Aug 2019 18:21:36
I sit in club deck 6 and just had an email saying I will be moved at the Legia game as part of section closure!

23 Aug 2019 19:03:49
I'm in club deck 5😕.

23 Aug 2019 19:35:33
6+7 getting moved.

23 Aug 2019 19:43:16
Have you been closed mate?

23 Aug 2019 20:08:53
Its not fair on you guys, the good supporters. I think the club are going to accommodate the club deck supporters who are affected by reseating somewhere else in the stadium. Because it doesn't affect me, as i sit in the copland rear,
doesn't mean i don't feel so sorry for our good, behaved supporters that this does affect. The guilt supporters have to f*****g stop this NOW! Our club and good, genuine supporters are suffering because of you idiots! Get it cut out or go and support some other club!

23 Aug 2019 20:28:36
I haven't had an email, I understand that its only CD 6&7 that's closed. 👍.

23 Aug 2019 18:00:41
Anyone Remember Jimmy Phillips playing for Rangers 25 games apparently
Just seen him on SSN and thought I remember that name.

23 Aug 2019 18:17:48
Left back, from Bolton, I seem to remember from late 80s. Played a few games, but never quite made it. Also had Bartram, who scored a beauty against them that season. Munro then took over at left back.

23 Aug 2019 18:55:32
Souness signing, good player but never quite made the breakthrough.

23 Aug 2019 17:34:45
I really do worry about the intellect of some of ours fans. I've been reading some comments on other fans forums regarding 3000 less fans for the return leg against Warsaw and some genuinely believe that Uefa are corrupt to the core and they have some god given right to sign these songs as its "the traditions of the club". Utter rubbish, these people need to realise they are damaging our club. From where we've came from to potentially qualifying for the group stages 2 seasons in a row, and some people are hell bent on dragging us down again. To those that sing these songs - go back to the 80's pls, rangers, as a club don't need you.

23 Aug 2019 18:02:56
Well said. We have to move on and if this is what it takes, so be it.

23 Aug 2019 18:22:16
Right seen the word. minority thrown about loads today. anybody who thinks this is the monority needs checked. i would say 90-95% of ibrox is signing when in full voice. Not just the union bears.

23 Aug 2019 22:38:24
Paul 86 totally agree think everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and blaming the Union Bears At any big game I would say the majority are singing those songs it's up to everyone to sing good Rangers songs and get out of the dark ages if it wasn't for the Union Bears there would be no atmosphere they just need to stop all the sectarian rubbish Wish we could get all the stands singing and supporting the Gers The Copland and the East Enclosure are too quiet for my liking ! This is the time for everyone to Unite 🇬🇧.

23 Aug 2019 17:26:41
hi

Why not change/ replace the words that are offensive in the songs, then they should be ok to sing.

As long as we all stick to them, I am sure someone could do it, then the club could check them before handing them to the fans.

Hope this is ok to post!

23 Aug 2019 16:29:42
Can we not beat around the bush with saying things like BF getting closed. Name them, Union Bears. Ave been next to them ave heard them start the songs. I would rather a silent stadium than a sectarian one. We will be under a microscope for awhile now. Ave been there as they belted out build my gallows. A song with as much to do with Rangers FC as a Spice Girls song. nothing. Take your songs else where, they are not wanted at ibrox.

23 Aug 2019 17:03:04
Well said fintytint, these people have got to recognize they are harming the club and it's reputation' there's plenty songs to sing other than the sectarian stuff, leave all that to the other mob and let's get into the group stages.

23 Aug 2019 17:21:54
The Union Bears are totally to blame? It wasn’t that at the last old firm game where everyone in my section in the Govan front were at it including myself. I do agree it has to stop but every comment on here is from guys who weren’t singing that day! Like I say it has to stop!

23 Aug 2019 18:24:32
Yately you are an absolute clown and you are the kind of person ruining it for decent fans.

23 Aug 2019 20:41:48
Yately. Not many people can claim they haven’t sung those songs at one point. Personally I haven’t since they changed the rules on certain songs. But we have been warned before. Ave had season tickets in club deck and go an front and those songs start from the same place every time. Not say shouts or small chants don’t come from other places but the conductors of the songs at Ibrox are the union bears.

23 Aug 2019 15:59:29
Right lads, after much positivity at the start of the season let's get back to the football. Let the powers that be deal with the nonsense. Funny we are on the up there is always something trying to pull us back. Don't let it happen. It's the mob who are down and limping. Let's keep it that way. Back to the football lads. Back to being positive!

23 Aug 2019 16:42:19
Largely agree but we all have to deal with the nonsense. One, by not getting involved in it, and two, by calling it out or reporting it as you see fit. Otherwise, the club, the team, and the real fans like you and I and thousands of others suffer.

23 Aug 2019 19:17:52
Agreed Ibrox4me. If the ‘good’ fans keep burying their/ our heads in the sand then the bad ones will keep on belting out these songs unopposed and in the end the good fans suffer as clearly these morons care much more about hating Celtic / catholics than they do about loving and following Rangers.

It saddens me greatly to see how many ‘fans’ on the likes of Facebook are complaining about this and making excuses like ‘but what about them’ and ‘it’s always us! ’ Even seeing loads of comments blaming Peter Lawell for it.

I mean come on we’ve been warned time and time again, been fined by uefa repeatedly. This was only a matter of time before it happened and mark my words it’ll only be the tip of the iceberg. Next it will be a whole stand closed, then a game behind closed doors and finally even a European ban.

And it’ll have nothing to do with Celtic or Lawell or any other group being ‘out to get us’. It will be because some of our ‘fans’ are too stupid to take a telling and the rest of us are too quick to burry our heads in the sand and ignore it and hope it goes away.

23 Aug 2019 15:58:54
I'm no doom and gloom merchant, however if Stevie is happy with a no score away draw then he has to think again. We are left with all the pressure on us as well he knows if they score one we need three to win (I think) .

23 Aug 2019 16:10:14
I'll trust SG judgement ahead of yours Bluebilly. If we win, we go through. Happy thoughts Bluebilly.

23 Aug 2019 16:12:52
I think it was a good result and if anything the pressure is on them, they couldn't score against us at their home and now they come to Ibrox, it will be a good game and a challenge no doubt, Legia maybe aren't the team they once were but they are still a solid opposition. If they score one we would need to score 2 as away goals count as 2 only if its a draw.

23 Aug 2019 16:28:49
If they score one we need two billy😂😂👍.

23 Aug 2019 16:34:39
First time I've ever heard that one after a first leg nil nil 😂😂😂.

23 Aug 2019 17:00:26
For those that don't know the rules.
Away goals only count double in the event of a draw.

They also count as double in extra time if still a draw.

23 Aug 2019 17:40:10
Haha that's class Billy if we score two and they score one surely we have still won the tie😂😂😂.

23 Aug 2019 17:58:49
If we win at home we go through, simple as!

23 Aug 2019 19:14:31
so we win 2-1 on aggregate but we go out because they have an away goal 🙈.

23 Aug 2019 15:48:14
Maybe it will sink into there thick skulls that singing those songs is Not Acceptable.
Also the area to be closed Must display a UEFA banner #EqualGame so it will be a large section. innocent fans suffer.

23 Aug 2019 15:52:39
I see rangers have to select areas closed, will be interesting how they do this and deal with innocent fans.

23 Aug 2019 16:39:09
John no one is innocent mate. We are all guilty of allowing these songs tobe sung and if we are honest and where at the last old firm game got involved in singing them and I include myself in that.

I will put my cards on the table. At our next home game if I hear the Billy boys getting sung or similar songs I will boo them from now on regardless of the situation. I know I won't be popular at first but maybe just maybe it will catch on.

23 Aug 2019 17:47:52
3 thousand fans are going to miss out. Idiots that keep adding that crap into songs. These idiots need to shut up and grow up.

23 Aug 2019 19:15:13
Union bears. Its them that start most of the nonsense.

23 Aug 2019 14:00:28
These so called fans need to get a grip that's not only atmosphere but cash their stupid singing has now cost us
My worry is that they will never learn the more the governing bodies say don't they seem to take that as a challenge to do more in our league I feel we're not far off not taking an away allocation to try and stop it.

23 Aug 2019 14:41:08
We all know the area these songs originate from.

23 Aug 2019 19:17:31
Surely we can create an atmosphere without singing certain songs its easy to sing along to these songs once we have had a few bevvies before the game but if it is going to hurt our club in the pocket it's time to stop let's create an atmosphere without the crap this could be our season let our fans enjoy it without negative publicity.

23 Aug 2019 19:16:31
Camera the area, get seat number and rip up their season ticket and ban them if caught.

That would be a start. We won't lose revenue as we have thousands on waiting list.

23 Aug 2019 13:42:46
UEFA order rangers to close no less than 3000 seats over the stadium. Not good at all.

23 Aug 2019 13:47:05
Will be the BF that will be closed no doubt.

23 Aug 2019 13:50:58
Think they can spread it out over the stadium so can't see them shutting one big area.

23 Aug 2019 14:00:26
And rightly so. i'm in Broomloan Front and a Catholic, its not big its not clever and if i miss a game for it to sink through the fans thick skulls good.

23 Aug 2019 14:04:49
Good I’m glad! It’s about time someone does this show the morons these songs and chants are not acceptable! It’s been coming our way for years so need to deal with it.

23 Aug 2019 14:09:09
Sparky the closure relates to a stand or sections so it will be one big area closed completely.

23 Aug 2019 14:09:26
They said they will try and limit it so that it effects mainly those who take part in the sectarian singing so It will more than likely be the BF.

23 Aug 2019 14:23:58
Think it's to be in one area, and a banner to be displayed. I'm sure we have enough great songs and chants to get Ibrox bouncing without resorting to outlawed sectarian ones. We as fans must see this as a wake up call and a warning from UEFA that they will not be tolerated and we WILL be punished. Just hope they have employees at every game, listening to the lyrics of every song!

23 Aug 2019 14:24:47
When are these absolute idiots going to learn.

23 Aug 2019 14:37:05
Kyle won’t be BF front. Warsaw have 2000 fans there.
It can be any section selected by uefa.
This is the start, club have also been reported for sectarian singing via progress and myttland

Time our club dealt with it, instead of letting it go.

23 Aug 2019 14:40:56
It’s going to be a big noticeable area and you’ve to display a banner about equal game from uefa. Uefa won’t let you disregard this they’ll be👀.

23 Aug 2019 14:44:38
Sorry I misread it then. Just read it again . Feel for any fan that'll be moved that's not involved in the singing. Fingers crossed it's a wake up call.

23 Aug 2019 15:33:05
Plenty of other songs they can sing it’s about time it was weeded out had enough warnings.

23 Aug 2019 15:57:48
It should not be required but RFC need to publish list of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable in terms of songs.
This way the people who continually drag down our club have no excuse.
Thereafter random filming of crowd and stadium bans. After all we have a waiting list of 13k.
It’s time for King and board to deliver.
And please let’s not hear about other clubs do this and that, we have a saying ITS ALL ABOUT RANGERS so let’s get our own house in order.

23 Aug 2019 16:03:29
@John25 I'm sure its the club who decide which sections will be closed? just hope fans who are able to enjoy the match without the vulgar singing aren't affected. Hope those who sing these songs take a good look at the bother they have caused fellow bears and the club. Sectarianism has no place in the modern world especially when some of our greatest and most loved players are Catholics.

23 Aug 2019 19:11:20
Surely rangers will know who they sold tickets to for the game away to st josephs? Why not ban those supporters. 👍.

23 Aug 2019 19:12:46
Not condoning our fans behaviour but it's a disgrace other teams are just as bad as us but nothing happens, missiles flung onto park monkey chants to name a few.

23 Aug 2019 13:40:30
Lets not get carried away and complacent with last nights 0-0 result in Poland, although it was a good result against Legia remember that they drew 0-0 in their last home leg qualifier before winning 2-0 in the away tie. I do think we will qualify but have fears of a wee silly goal for them causing an upset.

23 Aug 2019 13:34:12
A wake up call. Please let this be the final one. Keep the banned songs away from Ibrox. We don't need them. It costs us money and prevents real supporters seeing the game. It tarnishes our reputation. We've got to call this nonsense out. We'll always be watched and no, it's not only us, but we can only be responsible for ourselves. It's 2019 last time I checked.

23 Aug 2019 14:14:45
Surely the penny will drop now with the neds that are singing those songs.

23 Aug 2019 15:24:02
these folk won't stop. alas its their culture. banning them is only way. it may cost us short term but well worth it. they are a total embarrassment to the club and country.

23 Aug 2019 18:53:44
I sit in BF5 although i'm in BF3 for the Legia game.
Any word on how rangers will select what area will be closed and how this will be communicated with the fans who might be affected.
Maybe we could shut the away section. They were throwing flares at our players. Do if for safety reasons lol.

23 Aug 2019 13:09:53
See we are potentially going to get hammered by uefa for sectarian singing against St Joseph’s. why are we still singing these songs especially against them. When are these fans gunna learn.

23 Aug 2019 13:17:37
Can someone tell me what sectarian songs we are singing?

23 Aug 2019 13:21:50
Not potentially, we have been told to close a section consisting of at least 3000 seats 🙈 all we need going into a massive game.

23 Aug 2019 13:22:40
Agree B'nose however it appears the offensive word is F*n**n
This word appeared in a flag at Celtics first home game this season where they described themselves as F*****s.
This was not reported as far as I saw and I do not understand why it is sectarian in one place and not in another.

{Ed001's Note - would you use the 'N' word to describe a black man? Because plenty of black men use it to talk to each other but would still be offended if a white guy used it. It is all about the usage. If a Jewish man calls himself a Yid then that is fine, but if you or I do it then it is offensive. You surely must understand that? Even if it would make more sense if people stopped using the words altogether in any sense.}

23 Aug 2019 13:29:29
Yately! You know fine we’ll what we are and aren’t allowed to sing. Whether you ‘think it’s sectarian’ or not does not matter one little bit. Our fans have been told repeatedly by our club, by the sfa and by uefa to stop it and yet it continues. It’s attitudes exactly like that that will see us continue to be hit with punishments. Some people just won’t learn. We could end up getting s van from Europe altogether and still some folk wouldn’t take a telling!

23 Aug 2019 13:30:27
Absolute morons. Anyone who comes on here and tried to play dumb or defend it is not a football fan or a Rangers fan, they are a fan of hatred and bigotry and that tribal mentality is more important to them than supporting the team. Ed, I have asked previously that anyone who mentions anything on here not related to football eg the orange walk, King Billy etc and anyone who has user names referring to these things is banned, as they are the knuckle draggers we need rid of.

{Ed001's Note - we do tend to delete those kind of things out of hand. If it is an editor that knows what those kind of things refer to.}

23 Aug 2019 13:31:10
The brain dead section of our fans shame the club again. No amount of whataboutery excuses this behaviour.

23 Aug 2019 13:33:38
It’s time for these idiots to stop! the club are trying their best to stop it but these idiots that still sing about the last century should join us in this century.
Do they really love our club or do they just use it to as a vehicle to spout their bigoted rhetoric well now they have dragged the club into the mire we now have to close a section of Ibrox for next Thursday just when the team needed our support I hope you lot are happy with your result you shower of idiots grow up and support the team.

23 Aug 2019 13:35:09
Ed gets it.

23 Aug 2019 13:40:21
it shouldn't matter who else uses it, we should only be looking out for ourselves, two wrongs don't make a right. let's lead by example, we claim to be better than the rest, now its time to put words into action.

23 Aug 2019 13:42:14
I, like many others, used to sing all these songs when I was younger and starting out in my Rangers following years on the early 80’s. Now I choose not to participate in this type of behaviour. It was only a matter of time before the Club was punished by UEFA for this, we have had many warning, not least from the Club itself! We named to cut it out or we could face even stiffer penalties!

23 Aug 2019 13:46:19
Spot on ED on everything you said there mate. For anyone who can't understand and see that, then you seriously need to go and see about getting educated!

23 Aug 2019 14:30:06
Surely with a waiting list of around 14,000, we should be looking to root out these people and get real fans in?

23 Aug 2019 14:41:52
Surely the offencive word is person, if someone is to call me say a Scot then fair enough but if he's to call me a Scottish person then that's offencive is it not?

23 Aug 2019 14:42:22
Correct JPC. You get one chance, if you’re caught singing any of these songs, or displaying banners or even scarves with any political or religious non-football related nonsense, barred for life and a real fan can come an d take your place.

23 Aug 2019 15:25:50
What worries me is we play them a week on Sunday. Can anybody say with any confidence the Billy Boys will not be getting belted out that day. Weve got to take this warning cause the SFA are next to hammer us.

23 Aug 2019 12:56:52
Well it looks like the morons who can’t shut there mouths and feel it’s their ‘god given right! ’ to sing and say whatever they like no matter how often they are asked by the club they claim to love not to have finally gone and done it! UEFA possibly going to shut a stand for next weeks return leg. Now I know this is just paper talk just now and might not happen but even if it doesn’t this time we must be getting seriously close to it happening. When are these thick as **** knuckle dragging Neanderthals finally going to learn? I don’t care if ‘other clubs fans do it’. Or ‘they’re as bad as or worse than us’. Can we not just accept that in today’s society it’s just not on anymore and that by continuing to act this way you are only hurting the club and decent fans!
I’m totally raging and disgusted at the way some of our ‘fans’ continue to act. Enough enough. If this does happen and I’m anyway impacts on our performance I will be even more livid!

23 Aug 2019 13:11:12
I’ve been saying it for years! The police need to stop being đŸ’© bags! Start making examples of people! ÂŁ500 on the spot fines, the club need to have red herrings in The stands, start taking note of seat numbers and send fines through the post with CCTV evidence!

We need to start pointing these folk out and making examples!

23 Aug 2019 13:33:25
The club have to do more too. On the Ranger insta yesterday was a photo of a lassie holding a scarf that said “heart and hand”. This is a reference to Derry’s Walls, which is a sectarian song.

23 Aug 2019 13:36:31
Give loudspeaker boy a song list - if he deviates from it then boot him out. Some of the stuff they sing belongs centuries ago. He needs to grow up or get to.

23 Aug 2019 13:44:14
It was only a matter of time before this sort of sanction happened to our great club because of these f*****g sawdust brained idiots, who don't care for our club. You's know who you are. You're not needed or welcome at our club! Stay to f**k away you knuckledraggers. You are only bringing major disruption/ harm to our great club! 😞😠.

23 Aug 2019 13:46:07
Totally agree Ger 78 and it's not just paper talk now-3000 less fans at Ibrox next Thursday when we need the home support the most. For those who brought this on themselves with their mindless singing it's been a long time coming but feel sorry for the decent supporters who will lose out too. Will the idiots ever learn? Doubtful as they've been singing those songs for decades but perhaps the club will do more to try and root them out given it will cost us several hundred thousand in lost revenue. By the way Ed's comments are totally valid as well. I know many Rangers fans who refer to themselves as"Huns" I have myself) but would be raging if fans of any other club refer to as such.

23 Aug 2019 14:06:01
But the sad thing is, this punishment by Uefa will still not be taken seriously but a section of our so called fans and they will continue to sing whatever they like. Uefa have shown their hand now, what's next, games behind closed doors cause morons can't behave themselves?

23 Aug 2019 18:53:08
So now we wait to hear which Section gets closed off. My three tickets were moved to BF1 for the Legia game to accommodate their fans. If the offensive singing is deemed to come from there in particular then what would be the point of shutting (say) the Club Deck! Either way innocent fans will suffer.

23 Aug 2019 12:34:33
Just seen Zak Rudden has joined Plymouth on 6 month loan. Hopefully it will have the same result as Doherty did at Shrewsbury-plenty of game time, score more goals and come back a better player (although Greg missed his chance to show it on Sunday) Anyway that leaves us even lighter up front so surely there must be another striker coming in before the window shuts?

23 Aug 2019 09:53:50
Ed was speaking to John McGinn sister Katie we got speaking about him in the summer of 2015 he wanted to come to us but on trial but we went for Jason holt instead looking back on on it how stupid are we now thanks to mark warburton now John McGinn is rated at 50 million playin for Villa in the premiership. all rangers had to do was pay st Mirren compensation fee this has to be one of the worst mistakes we made ED he’s now one off Scotland’s top midfielders really does want to make you cry like seriously.

{Ed001's Note - he does look a top class player now McGinn, but that doesn't mean he was back then. It could have been the rejection that inspired him to work harder and improve.}

23 Aug 2019 10:07:41
50million rated at villa. If he was still playing anywhere in Scotland it would be 5 million.

23 Aug 2019 10:13:15
Agree with both, back then I’d have taken a punt on him but he was nowhere near where he is now.
He is a fantastic player now but Villa only value him at 50m because they can. Personally I don’t think he’s anywhere near 50m.

23 Aug 2019 10:55:44
I mind ages ago at Hibs I (and a few others) were saying sign Mcginn and some on here were suggesting he wasn't good enough lol.

23 Aug 2019 13:00:10
Only looks a bad mistake in hindsight, all we could do was compare the two players at the time. If the team thought Holt was a better option then then they had to go with him.

23 Aug 2019 09:41:01
Morning Bears. What another great result in Europe for SG's boys. What a start to the season. This squad is looking very good. To go to Warsaw and play Poland's top team and draw 0-0 is terrific. As someone else pointed out on here Legia are ranked 45 in Europe while AIK are ranked 245 in Europe. We can finish the job at Ibrox next week and then for the unwashed!

23 Aug 2019 10:00:23
I thought we were poor. Our best players were our defenders. even Morelos had to defend. Terrible performance from us.

23 Aug 2019 10:17:03
Really wish we would stop looking at what there doing and where there opposition is ranked. let's focus on us.

23 Aug 2019 10:29:22
Mee, surely your fishing here?!

23 Aug 2019 10:32:51
Spot on Paul86. Too many people on this site are starting to obsess about celtic supporters obsessing about us. Stop this for f#ck sake. We should be better than that.

23 Aug 2019 10:35:08
Not a bad result for a team who were 'poor'. I want to look at what 'they' are doing because I want them to get gubbed every time they play!

23 Aug 2019 13:03:05
I thought we were decent without being great. Every players got pass marks for me but without anyone really shining, although I though jack was very good but his impact isn't always obvious. I do wish Gerrard had freshened things up a bit, a player doesn't have to have a bad game to be subbed off. Jones might have supplied some pace on the counter when ojo was clearly tired.

23 Aug 2019 08:22:17
Just a quick one to express sadness at the plight of Bury FC. We Rangers fans know only too well what the fans are going through. It is just horrible but hopefully their FA will do everything to try and help them through the crisis, unlike ours. We played them pre season last year and the fans were a great bunch who enjoyed their experience.

23 Aug 2019 09:47:08
Did we not play them this pre season too actually?

23 Aug 2019 09:52:55
Yea agreed mate. Looks like the FA are flinging them under the bus, similar to what the SFA done to us.

Will be interesting who else goes under down there, especially clubs who have been in the Premier League but not made it back up straight away. It happened to Leeds who just about survived but Bolton, Sunderland, Wigan, Ipswich (clubs like that) need to be very careful.

Part of me would love to see the SKY or BT deal collapse just to see how the bigger clubs would react as these mega companies have flung money at the Premier League and effective ruined football.

23 Aug 2019 10:58:08
We are behind you Bury FC đŸ€.

23 Aug 2019 11:18:07
Good point about the TV deals shenderson. I see Amazon Prime are to screen about 20 live EPL games this season and could challenge Sky and BT soon. These top clubs who pay ridiculous wages to overrated players would be in serious trouble without the Sky and BT money.

23 Aug 2019 11:32:32
Regarding the Bury situation. Imo the English FA are doing what the SFA should have done with us re whyte sale. I'm no expert but what I think is happening is Burys owner has recieved an offer/ offers for the club. The FA have said that the individual need to pass their fit a proper owner criteria b4 any deal can go through. I think the FA are concerned re the individual that wants to buy the club.
I also think their is other gen offers for less money on the table that the owner is refusing to accept, hence the unrest between the owner and the supporters.

So basically the owner is blaming the FA for holding up the deal.

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate you are miles off. The FA are not involved for one. This is between the EFL and Dale. The hold up is that he simply does not have the funds to keep the club going until the end of the season and so cannot provide the necessary guarantees that the club will be able to complete the league programme. The EFL are simply waiting for him to provide that or sell to someone else who can.}

23 Aug 2019 11:55:00
Ed I watched an interview on SS from the owner, who stated he wanted to sell and that he had recieved offers but the EFL where holding it up. They then went on to interview the lady the represents the EFL. She stated that the individual offers need to be looked at as they need to pass their fit and proper criteria. So in one hand the EFL are asking for a Guarantee of funds, which the owners isn't willing to provide as he wants to sell and on the other hand the EFL won't sanction the sale which if it went through would guarantee the funds.
Hence why they are asking for the rules to change in situations like this.

I maybe completely wrong, but that's what I took from the interviews.

{Ed001's Note - he is lying. Dale has rejected offers, despite buying the club for a pound, because they were not offering him enough money to buy the club. There were four offers on the table just yesterday which he had rejected out of hand 3 of them. The supporters club were thrown out of the club when they approached him about buying the club via a supporters trust. There is one thing stopping Bury right now and it is Dale. Just him and only him.}

23 Aug 2019 12:32:56
Yeah he prob is lying but he is using the existing rules of EFL to try and justify his lies.
Hence why they are asking for the rules to change.

In his interview dale stated that he wanted to sell but the fit and proper rule will hold up any sale.

ATM there is only one concrete offer on the table but Dale wants a million for a club he paid a pound for and the individual that has made the offer isn't willing to pay that.

Dale is in the same bracket as guys like Ashley. Ie only interested in money and it looks like they guy who has tabled the offer is the same. So I think the EFL are correct in saying that any new owner will need to pass their criteria.

Initially I was replying to 87hend post that the FA where doing what the SFA had done to us. I was trying to point out that had the SFA applied the fit a proper test the EFL have to Whyte purchase then things could have turned out different for our team.

{Ed001's Note - you are correct there, I have to agree the SFA let Rangers fans down badly.}

23 Aug 2019 13:12:23
I agree with you Stewart’s regarding fit and proper testing!

23 Aug 2019 07:34:51
Arrgh, just caught the end of the BBC Scotland breakfast news, and guess what "celtic took a huge step to the Europa league with an impressive win over AIK, whereas Rangers struggled and were held to a goalless draw in Poland". They don't even try to hide their bitterness and hatred now - pisses me right off.

23 Aug 2019 11:38:40
I just can't wait till we win the League either this year or next and the BBC will be sitting outside, looking through the window wish they had been invited to the Party.
