Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

23 Apr 2017 22:53:53
Look I dare say most realistic fans expected us to lose but hopefully maybe nick the win! We all wanted us to win obviously but they are the better team regardless of how much you are a rangers fan. That being said I would like to know why the team didn't even show up until the 46th minute the first half was a riot.

Celtic play possession based football and are actually half decent at it so why the hell did we not at any point until the second half press them, we went to hampden and played their game.

Hallidays tackle was a riot lucky not to be off, Roberts had Beerman most of the game but the lad wasn't the worst.

I dunno who will agree but I think the keeper should have saved the penalty given the hand he got to it at least knocked it wide.

Oh and joe garner is a bloody riot total utter liability and selfish too.

24 Apr 2017 00:10:13
We might actually have performed better in the first half if Halliday had been sent off! At least it would have galvanised the team and with him and Garner on the park it was like playing with ten men! Why on earth did Pedro change a winning team to accommodate this pair of clowns.

Halliday can't even foul someone effectively!

The substation of this pair answers the question why we only started performing in the second half.

24 Apr 2017 06:19:34
His tactics didn't work . was obvious he was hoping to play a containing first half and hopefully go in level at HT. Second half bring on some pace and make them defend deeper. Unfortunately we just don't have the players to do what he hoped. Need to ship out the dead wood and bring in players who can compete. going to take a few quid tho

24 Apr 2017 09:56:41
Yeah that's something I can't really understand, WHY did Caixinha play Halliday? I know Pedro is putting his own mark on things but I thought he would have stuck with basically the same team/ system as the way Murty had gone with, maybe a change up front.

I would love to see us play a certain way in regards to how we set the players out. The players and formation used at Mordor does have the ability to win against that mob, the lads just need to be nailing the system and I hope Caixinha realizes this.
What was Pedro's system? I was working and missed start of match on radio! Please Bears let me know its doing my nut in!

24 Apr 2017 09:58:12
Hallidays tackle was a foul nothing more. Wasn't off the ground, foot wasn't high, studs weren't showing.

Simunovics tackles on wag and McKay were both straight reds. Referee was terrible, two player hand balled it at the same time in the box fs.

Wonder if people will still turn their nose up at guys like naismith Lol!

24 Apr 2017 10:02:04
And that's the problem Kendi I don't mind at all about getting beat off the better team but what I do hate is the manner in which we lose which yesterday for me was an absolute disgrace of a performance from a Rangers team we made them look like Barcelona especially the lego muncher because all we done was sit off them for most of the game especially the 1st half

24 Apr 2017 12:43:05
Halliday (tackle ) if you can call it that? Was worse than browns last week and that was without what happened In the build up last week!
Take your biased specs off cee!
If brown did that to 1 of your players you would want him hung, drawn and quartered! It was a straight red all day long mate your own fans have lambasted the challenge

24 Apr 2017 14:28:53
"Wasn't off the ground, foot wasn't high, studs weren't showing". funny Cee how a tackle that meets all 3 of your requirements just last week had a very much different reaction.

25 Apr 2017 00:54:30
Cee your credibility goes out the window when its not the tackle that's important but the colour of the jersey they wear.

Nobody is talking about Jozos tackle but you, its merely a booking.
By FAR the worst tackle yesterday was Hallidays (your own fans admit that too), and I still think that was a booking.

The ball hit Jozos hand as he was on the ground from behind he didn't even see it coming, so get real on that not even close to a penalty.

Beerman did well for an 18 year old but he knows he was lucky to stay on the park.
For the record the ref actually had a decent game, you can tell nobody was talking about him yesterday.

23 Apr 2017 21:53:06
I'd say today really showed how far behind Celtic we are and how many players need shown the door in the summer. I'd say 2 new centre halfs who can form a strong partnership then Wilson and bates back up so that's kiernen senderos and hill out the door then I'd say a strang holding midfielder and two more midfielders to come alongside rossiter kranjcar and holt then Hyndmen and toral will go back and get rid of Halliday. Then two new quality wingers with mackay and dodo back ups get rid of forrister and ohalleren then I'd say two new centre forwards and get rid of waghorn and garner and give miller 1 year deal who can be used up top or out wide but he will take a step back. So for me that's 9players in 8 plus the two loan players out.

23 Apr 2017 22:34:58
I thought team looked scared. We only had a go in last 20 mins it was as if keep score down. didn't like look of team when I heard it too many fward players and midfield too lightweight. Just have to hope Pedro learns lesson from this.

23 Apr 2017 23:53:10
Spot on Jaws, I'm sure he will be assessing who he needs and where, we were
far too negative first half, gave them far too much respect.

24 Apr 2017 00:13:41
Deanobear, I can't really disagree but we won't get a lot of cash for those you want out the door and if I could get decent money for him then McKay would be for the off as well.

Problem is that I just don't see anyone wanting Halliday unless Warburton comes calling for his favourite!

We will need a significant investment, even with Pedro's contacts, to get the players we need at the quality required and I do not see that coming from King sadly!

24 Apr 2017 10:11:43
Deanobear and TOMUSA, I agreed we need to invest in new players but as Tom said finances ain't great and to answer your question about selling not just Halliday but players like Forrester O'halloran then Clubs like Bury, Oxford and maybe other SPFL teams will bid and we will possibly have to give the player a cheque for some wage compensation if a player is going from 7k to 3-4k a week. Could also see some players be used in a Fee plus Player Transfers.

I do not want to see us taking huge financial hits on some players. For instance Garner 1.8m. I could see a club offering 500k and that for us right now is far too much of a deficit, I would rather see him go on loan with a Club picking up 80-100% of wages, this type of deal would be by far the best option for us financially! Even McKay, if a Club are interested instead of selling him for something between 500k-1m we should loan with option to buy as we know he has potential and like others at Ibrox have been used abysmally lowering their value!

But in regards to players coming in, due to finances 1 commanding CH with Wilson nxt to him would suffice, having Bates as back up with possibly Hill for one more year. I would like 4 CH's battling for a start and Wilson is a 1st choice, Bates still young but should get some game time nxt season so buy 1 powerful commanding CH with Bates and possibly Hill or another from development or a loan as back up.

We do have Rossiter, Krancjar coming back and Beerman who can play LW with Atayaki RW both these lads should be given a chance yeah it'd be great to go buy a player but even tho these lads are young playing down the wing a tad different physically from a CH or a CM these guys are FAST and from what I've seen from Beerman and been keeping up to date about Atayaki BOTH have tons of ability!

Currently we could have 2 young hungry fast wingers dying ti show everyone what they can do, could be worth 100k or 10m? Roberts at the Tic valued at 12m so you never know give the lads a crack at nxt season! Obviously give Wallace the LB spot as the guy is a good player he's solid and with games and confidence will do a job and again we must buy within our means and imo I want to keep Beerman in squad but i'd take McKay out loan him to Sheffield Utd or something and move Beerman to LW keep Wallace at LB he's been a great servant and I do not want to see him go for peanuts.

All in all we have a few players who at present due to the way they have been played and Coached their value and confidence has nose dived players such as McKay O'halloran Wallace and Holt although even after a short space of time Holt is starting to look like a player again. So point is I do not ever want to see a situation Transfer wise that resembles C. Adam or R. McCormack! Where we sell for £300-£400k only for the players to be going for £6-7-8m!

One more thing Bears, how much did King and the Board tell Caixinha he would have to spend on Transfers come summer. OPINIONS!

23 Apr 2017 21:05:15
I felt tacticaly we setup to defend and then counter attack. We conceeded an early goal and the manager didn't change it until half time when he went 442 and brought on dodoo and mackay. We then seemed to play long ball football. A couple of things
1. Garner offers very little if nothing an empty jersey we need to get rid.
2. Where was jon toral i was at the partick game and he was the motm?
3. Celtic still looked comfortable with 10 men when Dembelle went off the ball didn't get kicked out of play for about 5 minutes take advantage of the extra man!
4. We had a young 18yr old left back and a young defender 21 bates they will both learn from this game and be better for it.
5. We need a midfield inforser midfield is far too lightweight out muscled and made to look like wee boys.
6. We need a goalscorer can't keep relying on a 37yr old - get rid of waghorn and garner
7. Dodoo was coming on to a game why didn't hw start? Why start halliday?
8. There is a gulf in class at the moment and I fully respect the fact that this is not Pedros team he needs time and money to get the right solution. I don't think Brenda will hang around for long after tge treble back to a premiership team in the summer.

23 Apr 2017 21:41:25
What I don't get is why change a system that was working, kept a clean
Sheet over last three weeks but Toral hyndman holt ran midfield, why in the hell did he not stick to that, where was the pressing game that was working for us, it's as if Pedro decided he did not want to win with warburton team, he did not even looomed bothered after the game laughing and joking with Rodgers, I wonder if he knows how much a defeat to hem hurts us, even if we are shocking.

23 Apr 2017 21:59:35
A bit annoyed the way he acted with Brendan a simple handshake would have been more appropriate

23 Apr 2017 22:41:21
Beebee it's a sure sign that he's doesn't get just how bad that defeat was.

For me the team that ended the game should be the team that starts on Saturday.

Saturday will show us what kind of manager he is if he starts the same way he did today then He's no any better than warbs was. if does this then murty should slap him across the head cause he showed just how too play too the strengths of your poor squad

23 Apr 2017 23:06:12
Bawbag

Yeah looked like he is still employed by them

23 Apr 2017 23:47:26
Surely Bears Caixinha would have been informed at his interview that he would have been guaranteed X amount for Transfers. WHAT! Do we think thus amount is?

He would not have accepted the job unless he had been told the amount was guaranteed and also may have been told that any money raised by Transfers out would be re-invested! Caixinha or any other Manager would not have taken a job they see as a platform to the EPL unless he had the means to do and show what he can do in this capacity.

So long story short how much do we think Caixinha will have to spend?
Also imo I think that including our loans a total of 10 players minimum will leave Ibrox.

23 Apr 2017 23:51:53
think he wil be back in england with winning the treble up here, no way, probably stay to see how he does in the champions league then put out feelers none of the big guns will take him on the back of results up here, might be mid table team

24 Apr 2017 00:16:33
Halliday looked like he was employed by them as well. For a supposed Rangers man he is a total disgrace. No fight whatsoever and very little ability.

24 Apr 2017 09:59:03
hyndman was the worst player on the park and has been for the last 5 games.

23 Apr 2017 20:56:02
wrong team selection today, wrong tactics, (if there was any)
The buck Stops with the Manager, he watched the last Celtic game from the stand, did he not see how effective Murty's tactics were.
I know he's just in the door, but when he said it's just another game, that worried me, that tells me, he does not understand what it means to the fans, let's hope he sorts it out for next week, but I doubt it.

23 Apr 2017 23:44:41
he knows who to drop next week if he don't he should be shown the door with the other wasters he has had his baptism let's see if he employs any new tactics next week

23 Apr 2017 19:51:26
I have never felt so embarrassed by a Rangers performance against Celtic in over 40 years of watching them. The set up was all wrong and so Pedro has to take a lot of the blame, the players did not seem to know the who to pick up and Kenny spent most of the first half telling players where they should be and who to pick up, a shambles, there are a lot of bears posting on various social media about how poor Beerman was, the kid was left so exposed it was tragic to watch.

We need a strong commanding midfield player in fact 2 please, Dorrans yes he would at least not let that wee ned Brown run the show which was hellish to watch today, midfield needs totally overhauled, Pedro has one hell of a job on his hands and if he didn't know it he does now.

23 Apr 2017 20:46:38
Pedro will be gone by xmas

23 Apr 2017 20:59:31
Not sure it will be as soon as that but he will need to wise up soon. Made some real howlers today with team selection

23 Apr 2017 21:24:33
Always thought it was a strange appointment of him in the first place but time to judge him will be next season

23 Apr 2017 23:46:25
I don't think anybody 'lets' Brown run the show. its just he is miles better than anything Rangers have or could afford to sign.

23 Apr 2017 20:45:35
I must say that Pedro is a breath of fresh air in terms of manners and conducting himself unlike previous managers when the result didn't go there way like Warburton, O'neil, Lennon etc. just grits his teeth and admit we wernt good enuf and the best team won instead of blaming everyone else but yourselves. I look forward to Pedro getting a few transfer windows and getting his own team together

23 Apr 2017 23:59:56
Boaz, the guy was undefeated in 5 of the last 6 games! we lost against "them" (The best team in Scotland at the moment)! People saying we where going to beat Celtic need a reality check! the load of poor players that Warbs brought in are still poor no matter the manager in charge!

24 Apr 2017 00:22:51
I don't agree Wyllie67, trust me, in my youth he would have been out the game in the first five minutes! The problem is that Warburton brought in a bunch of softies and Halliday in particular, so called Rangers man from Govan, is the biggest coward of the lot. Brown is made to look good in these games because, like the one eyed man in the land of the blind, the plastic hard man comes out on top when he is up against wimps. He wouldn't last two minutes against men like Souness, Roberts, or Hurlock or even Celtic old Boy Brogan!

24 Apr 2017 06:46:28
TOM it doesn't matter what Hurlock, Souness etc would have did to Brown because that's not who he's up against, its Holt, Halliday n Hyndman with a combined weight of abt 300lbs. at the end of the day Brown can only play against whos in front of him and as much as it pains me to say i actually think he's a better footballer than he gets credit for. for months all supporters having bn waxing lyrical abt Hyndman, well Brown showed him yesterday how to control a midfield sadly

24 Apr 2017 09:57:37
We cannot turn into a Club merry go round with Managers! Caixinha MUST be not only given a FULL season but supported instead of us thinking that £5m can top £20m in terms of ability to bring in players PLUS the difference in what both Clubs already have in their squads!

I agree that the Tic DO have players that are hugely overrated and a Manager with a good eye COULD bring in a few low fee players that could smash the SPFL! But unless our Manager is God awful then again we must support him and what he is trying to BUILD.

One hugely important thing is that I hope Caixinha understands excactly what our Club IS! What it means as Warbs didn't and with someone like Weir beside I thought this would have helped but it didn't! This is why my choice for 3rd Coach was Rae but I am well happy JJ got the job as he offers loads to the position and knows the Club I just worry slightly about that side of it and people talk to Caixinha about small things like the way he is after a defeat especially Against Celtic! That's just the way it is and you know Brenda will know not to have a smiley chat with Pedro after a 2-0 defeat.

So JJ or Miller even big Greig have a wee word with our man quietly to one side its one part of the job that's easy to do, a wee bit of advice that has a huge impact on the way we the supporters look at you this must be addressed and surely someone at Ibrox will do this and Caixinha will appreciate it hopefully instead of taking it the wrong way as I think that's the only reason someone would not mention it to him.

23 Apr 2017 19:44:42
halliday shouldn't be allowed anywhere the team he's rotten and tavs still can't defend which is shocking we were terrible in the first half esp against a Celtic team who were rotten last season under deila, three new signings and there running away with everything, there is no way Aberdeen will beat them

23 Apr 2017 21:58:00
There was no need for Tavernier to go into a tackle he couldn't possible get to. Stonewall penalty and it's a joke he said he got the ball when clearly he didn't. He seems to learn nothing and we need a right back who knows how to defend properly.

23 Apr 2017 23:26:51
Halliday is quite simply not good enough. He never has been and he never will be. He should have been nowhere near the team today. Tavernier is a very poor defender and should never be played at right back. The guy quite simply cannot defend and makes too many mistakes. I have been saying for months this is a bunch of very poor players who accept defeat and are not fit to wear the jersey. Wake up call Pedro. Massive clearout needed.

24 Apr 2017 09:58:47
Yeah Hodson should've been in there and Caixinha should have used same system as Murty a the piggery. Hindsight and all that but Fods should have came for that ball through to Giffiths!

24 Apr 2017 10:00:34
Tavernier is the best right back in the league. Even better than lustig. Back 4 isn't the problem.

23 Apr 2017 19:39:59
todays game just shows how far we are away from competing the team is full of wimps who didn't lay a glove on celtic.

major clear out needed of players to compete with celtic defence midfield and strikers not good enough a hope the board have deep pockets cause this team is in need of major investment.

Very much doubt king will fork any out as he clearly has no funds. an if rumours are true he will no longer be chairman

23 Apr 2017 19:42:52
What rumours are you referring too?

23 Apr 2017 23:51:14
Major clear outs just don't happen mate, that's not how it works unfortunetly. Senderos n Hill will be off and by abit of luck we might be able to shift 1 or 2 then hopefully bring in 4 or 5 new players but they have to be guys that are better than what we have that can go straight into the first 11

24 Apr 2017 00:29:18
I reckon that we will see a number go. Senderos and Hill will almost certainly be for the off and I believe that we will see interest from England for Kiernan, (strange though it might seem), Garner and McKay.

I reckon Forrester will stay because no one will want him and we will struggle to get rid of Halliday unless his pal Warburton comes in for him.

Still getting rid of those failures opens the door for five or six new players, problem is that they all need to be of a significant better quality than what we have and that means spending money that we don't have!

24 Apr 2017 09:59:53
Would rather see Forrester etc loaned out with Club their at picking up as much of their wage as possible instead of sitting in Stand every week TOMUSA yeah hopfully this will happen and can see these deals being used for 3-4 players as u said I can't see many clubs bidding and if they do then a drop in their wages are on the cards which again will lead to us picking up tab with a pay out so prob better going down the loan route as some of these players may actually come on ti a game and putting themselves in shop window!

23 Apr 2017 19:06:00
As one of the previous posters mentioned, I agree that Caixinha is class, particularly with his post match interview. He acknowledged Scott Brown's dominant performance today and spoke articulately. I reckon if he gets about £20m he could challenge Celtic next season and take Rangers to the next level in their resurgence!

23 Apr 2017 19:13:39
Aye if Celtic give us a tap of the 20 million

23 Apr 2017 19:42:28
Our club is unfortunately rotten from top to bottom. No money, no opportunity to seek investment while ashley remains in the background and a bunch of no hopers and never will be players wearing our famous blue jersey. Early days but not convinced about our new manager and the stories about mccoist and his contract are simply disgusting. Many more years of playing second or third fiddle i suggest. Not great fellow gers.

23 Apr 2017 19:50:18
Where are we getting that money from?

23 Apr 2017 20:59:38
We don't have any real money all soft loans relying of good will of directors. That can't go on for ever. No sign of an end to this and we will struggle to get any better unless we sort out or deal with ashley in some way. He has money to burn and will sit tight snd starve us out. Very worring time ahead.

23 Apr 2017 16:52:09
After 5 years of bad times it must be great to be able to watch a champions league team 6 times, that must be worth the season ticket money. watching big time players like brown dembele tiernay Armstrong.

23 Apr 2017 17:37:24
Think if we want to watch champions league players we will watch teams that are proper champions league teams with players like Messi, Suarez and Ronaldo. Your team didn't exactly fair very well against 2 of them. Slipping to a narrow 7-0 defeat

23 Apr 2017 18:52:19
Yes mate it was an honour to see your £100 million star striker fall on his arse and injure himself. lol

23 Apr 2017 18:54:51
Champions league team? You mean whipping boys with ideas above their station and equally deluded fans? Best team in Scotland aye but hardly anything special are they?

23 Apr 2017 19:27:52
Ruined it by saying brown. Celtic didn't even get out their group

23 Apr 2017 22:00:06
Lance Armstrong

Big time players? The real big time players were playing in Madrid tonight sorry but those players you mention don't even get close to these players. They might be big in Scotland but they are nowhere near the real big time players

23 Apr 2017 16:48:49
Joe garner is totally rank rank rotten.

23 Apr 2017 16:54:07
Pedro laughin n jokin with rodgers after it not impressed a don't care if your the best gaffer on the planet if u want to laugh n joke after we lose like that to that shower then learn n learn fast

23 Apr 2017 17:00:07
So is Waghorn

23 Apr 2017 17:04:04
Loved his interview, Scott this and Scott that. Was that brown he was drooling about😅😅😅

23 Apr 2017 18:54:40
We certainly made the lego muncher look like messi today

23 Apr 2017 19:42:10
Some player. Let's hope wee Gordon picks him for the England game.

23 Apr 2017 20:04:19
It's pedro we were talking about blue voice. Full of praise for the celtic leader and captain.

23 Apr 2017 23:37:57
Why are you calling a player a "lego muncher" are you serious? And the other post making snide remarks about Brendan Rodgers' appearance and his "bhoys" is just total drivel. Get a grip.

24 Apr 2017 10:01:40
But he is a Lego muncher

23 Apr 2017 16:42:27
You could be the best manager in the world and play all different types of tactics but at the end of the day the players we have just aren't good enough to compete with this celtic side, if we do get a result against them it'll come down to them not playing particularly well and some luck on our side. I'm looking forward to the summer to see if the new manager can bring a few players in with a real bit of fight and one or two who can actually beat a man.

23 Apr 2017 17:04:18
GMW

That's very true however why play certain players in front of others. Halliday has been poor all season and yet plays in front of Toral who I thought has been playing well recently. Dodoo has looked quite sharp in recent games scores against Aberdeen but can't get a game in front of the non scoring strikers Waghorn and Garner. There was no appetite today shown and that's unforgivable in an old firm semi final. I Understand they have better players and would be able to outplay us however they outfought us too and looked much hungrier to win. Our players not only lack ability but desire too

23 Apr 2017 17:17:36
You can accept players not being good enough but there is no excuse for lack of commitment and for what we saw from the Rangers players today. We need a total clear out and major investment. Today proved both of these facts.

23 Apr 2017 16:41:46
Quite simple. embarressing.10 new players needed. Fod got pass marks. get rid of the rest. proper embarressing to be a gers fan right now.

23 Apr 2017 23:59:48
Personally i disagree with your assessment of gk. Has made some gr8 saves this season but loses a lot of soft goals. As a team 1st goal was pathetic. One lump up park beats everyone but gk was static. Ally maxwell of all people would have saved that with his eyes closed. 2nd he was well capable of coming out to get ball b4 griffiths but didn't attempt too. Gk decent for a motherwell or killie but not rangers

24 Apr 2017 06:52:30
Got to disagree, i was seated right behind the goal and Mcgregor cleverly used the bodies in front of him as a shield and got good pace on the ball so no chance for fod imo

23 Apr 2017 15:18:35
This team are aweful and everyone knows wee need investment to compete but how much investment do you think we need to compete with Celtic. I honestly think wee need at least 30 million which I know will never happen sad times and unfortunately can't see much improving in near future.

23 Apr 2017 15:32:41
I have to say I'm quite impressed with caxihnha, I know uz had a bad performance today but he carries himself well speaks well and is dignified in defeat all good qualities for an old firm manager, given time next season and a wee bit of dough I could see him being a decent success✌️

23 Apr 2017 16:17:52
Have to agree with kfraser, l think the back four did pretty well taking into consideration that they were pummeled just about the whole game. The midfield were non existent and gave the back four no help or relief and Halliday was slower than a week in the jail. They were like rabbits in the headlights

23 Apr 2017 18:38:02
I still can't believe that when Dembelle went off and thumb heed was waiting to come on for about 10 minutes and they only had 10 men and all we could do was stoke the ball about in our own half with no attacking being done, that was shocking from a Rangers team!

23 Apr 2017 18:40:34
Yes mate we do need to spend to compete but a good manager with a good scouting network should be able to compete with the current Celtic side by spending far less than 30 million!

23 Apr 2017 23:53:49
Got to agree Nic861,people start getting carried away after a defeat. yes we're rotten just now but with abit of luck in the nxt window and bringing in 4 or 5 players that Pedro knows of and maybe a couple of local players like Patterson, Dorrans e. g on frees then that's a good start. and for all these people on here screaming for a total clear out, its not that easy and it just doesn't happen unless we've got 11 guys out of contract.

23 Apr 2017 15:13:49
This was a heartless performance that made Celtic look like world beaters must show fight next Saturday I could not believe Toral did not start we were always yards of the opposition players hope the manager has learned who he can trust and who he can't from this game.

23 Apr 2017 15:29:06
Can we trust the manager?

23 Apr 2017 15:38:09
Certainly wrong tactic's today

23 Apr 2017 15:49:40
Worrying thing is he picked Halliday, Waghorn and Garner who have been poor all season. Think most Rangers fans were worried when they saw the team sheet. I just don't know what he sees in Waghorn? He is slow, not good in air and can't finish. What was he expecting him to do today?

23 Apr 2017 15:57:59
Play like that next week and it's another embarrassment

23 Apr 2017 18:24:37
Waghorn is absolute rank rotten he has got a touch like an elephant and couldn't finish his dinner, he should get shown the door in the summer as well

23 Apr 2017 19:37:11
Jack Union

Actually that's one of the problems with Waghorn he is too fond of his dinner and other people's by the looks of him. Excuse of a player

23 Apr 2017 15:05:32
People keep talking about a clear out one thing WHO'S GOING TO TAKE THESE PLAYERS let's get real we are stuck with most off them . unless BIG investment comes in DON'T SEE IT LOL. AS AFTER TODAY NOT ONE PLAYER TURNED UP AND MANAGER GOT FIRST HALF TOTALLY wrong

23 Apr 2017 15:16:43
A bit harsh. I thought Foderingham and the back four did well. We needed to be able to compete for midfield but Pedro's bizarre starting 11 selection didn't give us a chance. He drops Toral for Halliday and plays 3 centre forwards. Not impressed with the manager today.

23 Apr 2017 15:24:26
Today's tactic's were truly baffling halliday and garner should've been left at home

23 apr 2017 15:31:46
ally72, give them free transfers to get them off wage bill! or dave king has to pay them off! they are not good enough! if dave king doesn't dig deep and sort this then he'll be a few season tickets down and he can do one too.

23 Apr 2017 18:28:51
Halliday over Toral I just don't get that at all

23 Apr 2017 19:05:29
What's worrying is king Said we've over spent. we need real money next season not players in the 250grand region but fear we'll be lucky to get 2 million to rebuild the whole team

23 Apr 2017 19:48:30
The manager got it wrong his is only human he is taking the ever day at training and if he picks a team it's up to the players to try there hardest not him.
And what is he meant to do after the game, give wee Tim a left hook and start fight?

he got beat by a better team and knows it and can't do nothing till he can build his own team it is always done to the players to play for the shirt which some did not back 4 were the best with two young players thrown in well done the rest no show for me.

23 Apr 2017 14:49:41
Heartless, gutless, totally inept, unorganised, . just some adjectives which describe one of the worst performances iv had the mispleasure of watching. we know that half of the players are not good enough to play for rangers but the responsibility of that performance sits with the manager. he was in the stand when Graeme Murty took charge at the pigery and clearly didn't heed how to set up against them. men against weans today and I don't think pedro is clever enough tactically to do much about regardless of who he may sign in the summer. bad times brothers

23 Apr 2017 15:28:58
New team urgently required.

Kiernan, senderos, halliday, holt, windass, waghorn, garner, ohal, OUT - Not good enough

Dodoo, tav, wallace, fod, hodson, wilson, bates, beerman are worth keeping. (We have to keep some players lol)

Hill and miller deserve a new contract. Will they make a difference next season, I'm not sure.

Hyndman and toral will go back to their parent clubs. Hyndman will be a huge loss.

Mckay- i'd take as much as we can get for him, we need the cash for better players. Too inconsistent.

kranjcar and rossiter have to be given chance when fit.

massive rebuilding job ped has got. Its going to take a good bit of money. Step up dave king.

23 Apr 2017 15:31:36
Think the way we set up today was a mistake, Hodson and McKay/ Dodoo should have played from start at expense of Halliday and Garner. Glad we looked much better in second half but very disappointing, the cup tie was there to be won.

23 Apr 2017 19:40:42
Fd

After last Saturdays performance I don't think McKay should have started. He didn't really do much again today and looked like a player who is just seeing out the season before moving on. Roberts gave Beerman a bit of a going over today however Roberts is a quality player and it's a learning curve for Beerman. These type of performances can make or break you let's hope it's the former

23 Apr 2017 19:58:35
Bengy25, did say Mckay or Dodoo should have started at expense of Garner. Thought your Beerman did well after a difficult start. Clearly he was identified by Brenda as a weakness and apparently Roberts had done him in u17 international fixture. After his booking thought he boy did well and agree this will have been a great experience for the boy. Likewise Bates came through the match with credit.

23 Apr 2017 14:32:30
Worst I've seen by the way. wouldn't hurt as much if there was a bit fight there but they can't even give you that embarrassing.

23 Apr 2017 14:51:00
Disagree mate we've been a lot worse with some of Warburtons teams in the past.

23 Apr 2017 14:18:09
There debating if Halliday should have been sent off after 3 min.
I'll start another debate why was Andy Halliday on in the first place utter mince and he's not the only one, but the unwashed didn't look as amazing as the think they are!

23 Apr 2017 14:24:11
Halliday has been poor all season and shouldn't have been anywhere near the team for such a vital game. He could have been sent off for that challenge but I just don't understand why Toral was dropped for Halliday. Also don't understand why Waghorn and Garner got picked neither can score and it was obvious they were going to do nothing today

23 Apr 2017 14:27:47
Lol, never happy.

23 Apr 2017 14:28:16
They were the better team on the day but the second half I thot we had good chances and if waghorn could score we would be winning games against Celtic. I think Pedro is good for us as he changes things and we improve with it. Fingers crossed we take our chances next week and beat these persons

23 Apr 2017 14:32:22
The minute I seen Halliday I thought we were in for a bad day.

Celtic were better in every position, I hope Pedro assesses the lads he's keeping and axing based on games like this.

23 Apr 2017 14:33:20
They totally dominated us from first minute till last minute and our chances came from their complacency. They looked like a team who are going to go unbeaten and win a treble. We look like a team with no trophies, no spirit and a 3rd place finish.

23 Apr 2017 14:54:11
Rafbob
So what you saying your happy to accept thus we were poor but they Celtic weren't that great better than us yes and that's all that matter to the Manky Mob!

23 Apr 2017 15:19:54
we never played great but we made you look as good as you are

23 Apr 2017 17:24:56
Pedro lost a lot of my respect today by playing Halliday. Halliday is a joke. He is a massively limited football player, and is sadly lacking in commitment. He should be the first one out the door in the summer, quickly followed by Garner and Waghorn

23 Apr 2017 18:08:53
You mistook what I said Bongo, I mean it to say the pundits and Celtic fans are never happy.

In my second response I mean what I say. 👍

23 Apr 2017 14:09:33
Hands up today. Rangers were no where near good enough. I don't think we defended badly. Just offered nothing going forward. We were too scared to go and get the ball most of the time. Wes was unlucky with the pen. No excuses here. Shame the same can't be said for our counterparts when things don't go they're way. Heads down and we go again. Roll on next season.

23 Apr 2017 14:25:06
With players like Waghorn, Garner, Dodoo, Halliday, Holt etc we are never going to challenge Celtic. Massive clearout required but who will really want to pay any kind of decent money for any of them?

Dreadful today which is disappointing after the last Old Firm game with Murty in charge.

23 Apr 2017 14:08:21
you would have got more effort out of 11 supporters
absolutely dreadful. can anyone please tell me what our game plan was today.

23 Apr 2017 14:05:22
What a dreadful performance, again showing how far behind our rivals we are.

Totally dominate minute till the last, Fodernigham get pass marks and that's pushing it as far as positives go.

As for negatives? Well anyone of Celtic's outfield players would be an improvement on ours, that's been evident since day 1 but maybe more people will realise that now. We created nothing for most of the game and when we did carve out chances Waghorn (who is worse than Adam Rooney and Boyce never mind Griffiths and Dembele) wasted them.

Outfought, outplayed and outthought.

For the split let's give Beerman, Bates, Doodoo and any other young boy with a future a run. We may as well because other than the young boys and the goalie, who is worth keeping next season? And also, please please never play Halliday again, he an Iain Black.

23 Apr 2017 14:27:03
Decent post and it amazes me how Halliday and Waghorn get near that team. Waghorn missed 2 sitters at Celtic park and misses another 2 today. How many times is he going to blast the ball over for 6 or 7 yards? As for Halliday he has been poor all season so it's not surprising he was poor again today and got hooked at half time. Showed very little interest

23 Apr 2017 13:55:46
Hopefully the lads turn up next week when we play at Ibrox because they were a no show today.

23 Apr 2017 15:27:01
First half shocking although to be fair Celtic were good. Second half fairly even and Dodoo continues to impress and look quality and Kenny continues to defy the years and could have scored. Can't really complain with result. Good to see the young lads, Bates, Beerman and Dodoo all do well. Halliday and I'm afraid Waghorn are not good enough although Waggy does try hard. Looking forward to next week.

23 Apr 2017 15:28:30
There's no chance rangers will turn up at ibrox let's get real Celtic dominated that game today there effort to press the ball and pass it clever is outstanding the Celtic players are fired up and eager to beat teams as much as I hate to say it Celtic are miles infront of rangers I'm not going to kid myself anymore .

23 Apr 2017 15:29:28
Were the Rangers players aware this was an old firm semi final? No desire, no direction, no fight, no passion. Time for most of those players to move on because they simply are not good enough to play for Rangers. Live on tv and trying to prove your worth to the new manager should be plenty of inspiration. I'd be embarrassed!

23 Apr 2017 13:37:40
Can't believe what I'm seeing. This is a dire Rangers performance making Celtic look good. Only Fod and young Bates are any good. Why didn't Mackay, Dodoo and maybe Windass start the game. Garner is useless and Halliday too. Let's hope we can rally next week and win at home.

23 Apr 2017 13:42:40
Agreed absolutely shocking performance.

23 Apr 2017 13:52:32
I was really exited as I thought win or lose we would be right up for it and be real aggressive but that first half was absolutely pathetic!

23 Apr 2017 13:56:21
We have a team full of losers. Not up for the fight and too many players hiding. Utterly shocking once again meekly accepted defeat to that lot. Still some of our fans seem to be happy with our season

23 Apr 2017 14:07:50
Fod tav and bates only players I would give pass marks poss dodoo as well but surely that's it for Halliday. I know he wasn't only one to play badly but he looked like he was only getting in the road.

23 Apr 2017 14:31:19
Bates is murder pal

23 Apr 2017 15:23:56
Tav pass marks? Get a grip you wouldn't see a tackle like that in school boy football. No where near ball

23 Apr 2017 15:28:34
Tav is a good player. Push him into midfield. Nothing much wrong with our defence today. I like Bates and Beerman is a real prospect. Fod is a really good goalkeeper. Midfield and up front useless.

23 Apr 2017 13:02:27
Dorrans Championship player on Championship wages, Morrison Premier league Player on Premier League wages
ie WE CANNOT AFFORD THESE PLAYERS
Unless we get a serious amount of money into the club, we have to work to our budget

23 Apr 2017 12:51:10
Halliday and Garner hopefully getting swapped at the break!

Toral and Dodoo on. Need to stop sitting off them.

23 Apr 2017 13:00:01
Halliday' first half performance is as bad as McKay's last week. Sauntering back while McGregor scores for them. Not in the game and not showing any interest. Hiding again just like a few others

23 Apr 2017 12:59:12
Agree rafbob, holt off hodson on, push tav up the park. No one willing to carry the ball and drive at them. Zero shots. Shocking!

23 Apr 2017 13:47:58
Waghorn is an utter useless slow fat lazy can't score excuse of a player

23 Apr 2017 14:09:58
Benny totally agree waghorn is useless.

23 Apr 2017 11:41:49
Here's a poser to one and all! What do you reckon is jason holt's best midfield position, one of the 2 defensive midfielders, where pedro has him playing just now, or more of an attacking midfielder who can make those clever runs, beyond our strikers, ie. ian durrant like?

For me personally, i prefer holty in the more advanced role, as he reminds me a lot like ian durrant and doddie Mcdonald, with his ability to time his runs from midfield, beyond the strikers and into the box!

That in itself is a tremendous attribute to have! Played correctly the wee man, i firmly believe, could hit double figures in goals for us, season after season! I've always rated holty highly, since he signed for us!

Although i do have to admit, that he's playing very well, currently in his more defensive role! He'll be very important against celtic today for us, with his unlimited work rate and bounds of energy!

23 Apr 2017 13:35:32
Jason holt is awful.

23 Apr 2017 13:36:50
Ian durrant 😂😂😂 turn it up!

23 Apr 2017 14:29:46
Think Holt has done well in recent weeks but he was shown up today. As for the Durrant comparison Holt isn't in the same class as Durrant was

23 Apr 2017 15:22:26
The benchmark is celtic. If they can't match celtic then they aren't good enough. Who cares if they can turn it on against partick thistle or aberdeen, not good enough, end of

23 Apr 2017 18:45:04
Exactly mate this is the games you really need to show up for to prove you're a Rangers player not a routine 2-0 game against Partick at Ibrox

23 Apr 2017 11:26:55
I know the boy Bates has done well recently but I must be honest v worried today think Tic attack will be rubbing there hands a wee bit! Halliday starting! Garner better keep the heid, not sure about this either prove me wrong by all means. c'mon the Gers

23 Apr 2017 11:29:37
Haliday and garner oh no

23 Apr 2017 11:31:07
I'm astonished Halliday starts in front of Toral and it's a big gamble playing Garner in such a game. Fear the worst today baffling team selection.

23 Apr 2017 12:50:55
Halliday has been shocking so far stupid tackle that could have resulted in a red then slowly running back not picking up McGregor as he scores. Very poor 1st half display standing off then letting them play with no penetration up front. Need pace up front to try and unsettle them not 2 non scoring slow strikers. Shambles of a first half

Nerves and excitement kicked in big style don't know if I like watching old firm games get far too nervous. Nothing better than beating that lot but a defeat ruins your whole week.

23 Apr 2017 11:34:24
That's true mate looking forward to El classico as well as a fall back

23 Apr 2017 11:36:29
Halliday and the young boy Bates in starting line up today. No place Hodson.
