Think Windass could be a solution to adding more creativity and goals, playing as a no 10.

24 Apr 2016 18:27:50
Waghorn& windass up front, one more season for Kenny, shields, Clark &law mustgo.

23 Apr 2016 19:10:41
Hardie man of the match tonight. Falkirk poor and lucky to get point. Raith played well.

23 Apr 2016 19:34:28
Ryan hardie didn't even start game he came on as a sub so don't know where man of match came from probs because you seen he scored second goal and just decided he gets man of match.

23 Apr 2016 20:51:55
He played 80 mins of the match more than enough time to get a deserved man of the match pointless wideo reply.

23 Apr 2016 20:54:22
He got a big bottle of champagne for being man of the match not for just scoring a goal.

23 Apr 2016 21:19:07
He came on as a sub at 11 minutes so he could still have been motm.

23 Apr 2016 23:14:48
Hopefully he will be kept next season and can make an impact.

23 Apr 2016 18:46:12
Great to get the trophy and the journey is now visibly complete, however I can't understand the drop in effort with league games?

I know it's the end of the season and results are somewhat irrelevant; players maybe don't want to risk an injury etc. but I don't get to my last night shift and chin it off thinking I'm on stand down tomorrow anyway.

It would be a better end to the league to win the games we still have and not daydream through them.

23 Apr 2016 19:18:47
Unfortunately it happens in football all the time, hearts done the same last year, but it would have been nice to win the last few games in style but don't be to hard on the team, it's just a natural reaction.

23 Apr 2016 19:35:40
I know delboy. It would be very nice to win the last away games and to do it with more stunning goals from Mckay.

I don't mean to come across as being down on the team, I am not trying to be.

I just think it's a bit deflating to drop off the boil against teams like Hibs and Alloa.

Not worried about the final though, the team has shown what they are capable of when it really matters.

23 Apr 2016 17:01:46
just back from the game and iam glad we got to see us lift the trophy it was the only good thing about the days game. our defending was terrible for the loss of the goal another sloppy defending error and in the final 3rd was just as bad. there was times we could have had a pop but passed and the shots we did have straight at the keeper or in the stands. apart from the old firm our form and performance has been poor and will need to b stepped up for the final or we will get beat. just wish we sign 1 or 2 big strong cb and then at corners swing it in its getting really frustrating.

23 Apr 2016 18:44:55
Unfortunately we have lost our edge because we have nothing to play for in the league. Hope we can get it back for cup final. U only have to look at dunfermline since they won there league. They gave lost heavily.

23 Apr 2016 14:59:03
The gaffer is class everything he says is balanced spoken calmly and backed by such intelligence. There are people out there that could learn so much from him when asked about liewell he said never talk about the other man or teams concentrate on ourselves and that is what matters.
This is why on rangers rumours there isn't a tims posts page we are the greatest team in the world we don't need to bother all those who have had an opinion on us when things weren't going well for us look out because we are coming for you all and to the main stirrers Queen of the south, morton and the likes are coming for you.

23 Apr 2016 14:22:02
Starting to get a little concerned about our lack of cutting edge.

23 Apr 2016 14:32:38
Yes - the players have mentally switched off or trying to stay clear of injuries before cup final?

If you don't need to win - you don't win.

But disappointed by players still fighting for contracts and not disappointed not using O'Halloran to give Miller a complete break.

Hope we don't have to rely on a 36 year old great though he is!

23 Apr 2016 14:34:53
It's the end of the season when it matters we will be alright we won the league, we pumped the tims and will beat the hivs in the final nothing to worry about we will be adding in the summer. Wtp.

23 Apr 2016 14:32:44
The flat earth brigade will be furious with you lwdawson.

Been a factor throughout the season. Pretty to watch but bit lacking in cutting-edge at times. Going to come up against better defences next season so need to be able to mix it up.

End of day achieved aim of promotion. Some quality additions required in summer.

23 Apr 2016 08:50:03
well now that the end of season approaches it has been not only sucessful on the park finances must have also got a boost from the petrofac cup semi final and final at hampden the full houses in the league lately and the prize money for winning the league and hopefully next season in europe all these games are out with the budget so finances are better than hoped for and will give the the club a bit of leeway to progress things.

23 Apr 2016 12:25:53
Largebill

Think the authorities will be taking a major slice of our prize money as we lost the appeal on the £250k fine.

23 Apr 2016 12:44:42
King said that wouldn't affect it.

23 Apr 2016 13:39:05
biffo that's correct but it means the money is there to pay fine without it affecting cash flow but the finances are a whole lot better than this time last year as is everything else connected with club.

24 Apr 2016 08:03:50
Largebill

They are better as you say but what's really killing us is that ludicrous deal the previous board signed with Ashley. Just think how much money we could have made through shirt sales if the old board had acted in the interested of the club.

Our legendary goalscorer ally mccoist has seemingly accepted the rangers board of directors invitation to attend tomorrow's game against alloa for our presentation of the championship league trophy, very fitting and appropriate as super ally started the journey whether a small minority of 'gers fans care to forget this and all the good things he did for the club over the many years, the diehard bears will welcome back ally with open arms because he is 'ONE OF OUR OWN'

23 Apr 2016 08:04:30
Are you saying that your not a proper fan if you criticise Ally? Since when do you think you speak for the fans? What exactly did Ally start? You seem to have forgotten the rank rotten football played under him, the awful signings like Kyle, Black and Cribari. The lack of youth players in the team, almost ruining McKay's Rangers career, publically backing Whyte, Green and the Easdales. Refusing to do a deal to end his gardening leave until he had fixed himself up with another job. Maybe that makes him a legend in your eyes but not in mine or others.

23 Apr 2016 08:23:32
Wow Biffo, harsh words but unfortunately on the nail.

It was never going to end well; he was never a coach or a manager and for him in particular-a legend in the true sense as a player, he was only ever go down in fans estimations not up. This is why Alan Shearer for example will never manage Newcastle United.

I distinctly remember years ago (prob 90's) Super Ally as he was then saying on one of his apparently witty interviews that he would NEVER fancy going in to management when his playing days are over. Many would say that he was good to his word as he was NEVER a manager anyway but that is beside the point.

He was a disaster as a manager but as a Rangers man and far more importantly a Rangers player he was first class. I would be distraught as the thought of such a man being booed or in anyway berated by fellow Bears despite his ineptitude as a manager. Given the unique set of circumstances he found himself in I think we can cut 'Super Ally' a bit of slack despite Ally's shortcomings that Biffo quite rightly pointed out.

{Ed001's Note - Alan Shearer has managed Newcastle, with less success than Ally at Rangers, he led them to relegation. Though, to be fair to Shearer, he did step in at a late stage as the club was already in freefall with just a few games to save them. You are right, in that he would not manage them again, but only because Ashley owns them and he would not work with him again, as things stand.}

23 Apr 2016 08:26:15
Wb15 it's not a small minority. And every one is entitled to there opinion. I wonder will He give his shares over to the fans before the match he hardly needs the money.

23 Apr 2016 08:38:42
Ed, the Shearer thing was panic stations and that is like saying Durrant managed Rangers. I take your point though, the point I was making is that if he took it full time the chances are that he would lose a lot if not all of his hero status that he rightly has in the same way as McCoist has at Rangers.

{Ed001's Note - the same point has been made to him many times by his friends as well, especially prior to the time he did have in charge. Like McCoist, even though neither turned out to be the answer, he couldn't resist the chance when it came.}

23 Apr 2016 08:40:58
I sincerely hope this is true 15. The man more than deserves this. Legend.

23 Apr 2016 11:25:41
Its funny to hear people were expecting stellar passing football down in the bottom league with the players we were capable of obtaining. Ally took us through the two worst leagues. It was a bad job to have but he did it.

23 Apr 2016 11:37:47
Gram: That's the way I see it, realistically, we were at our lowest ebb in our history, just getting out of those leagues was the target.

23 Apr 2016 08:30:12
i for one would not welcome him back not on his record of a player or a manager but for the way he took greens money to sell season books then jacked knowing full well the team was not good enough to go up through play offs and pocketing the best part of a years wages at higher increment not for me.

23 Apr 2016 09:32:29
It should not be forgotten our greatest ever manager put him up to the Scotland job and RFC.
Walter must have thought he had something.

23 Apr 2016 09:40:59
I'm not saying mccoist was a good manager but the vile some rangers fans spout about him is way over the mark and that's my opinion just like the ally bashers have theirs, in my eyes coisty will always be a glasgow rangers legend for what he did at rangers as our record goalscorer and some fans do have short memories.

23 Apr 2016 11:02:33
i gather everyone is forgetting how many goals he scored for us. he got us promoted twice. stood by us when nobody else would. of course he got back whyte and green at the time. so did we until everything unfurled an we found out the truth. not the best manager granted, but still a legend. talk about holding a grudge people.

23 Apr 2016 12:31:07
Warburtonthefifteenth

What vile comments are you referring too. My post is purely based on his lack of ability and greed. Not disputing he was a great club player who scored a lot of goals in Scotland but think his managerial record was appalling and his backing of every chancer that came through the door tainted his time at the club.

23 Apr 2016 12:32:06
davie1980

What do you mean stood by us when nobody else would? Who are you actually referring too when u say that?

23 Apr 2016 13:28:55
Manager keeps wags he is entitled to shocker.

23 Apr 2016 14:14:08
McCoist would have been the worst manager in our history had McDowall not have got the job when McCoist left but I don't blame McCoist for taking the job, I blame Smith and Murray for giving him it. This for me was nothing more than Cronyism and Walter made a few errors during his time by being too loyal to people rather than concentrating on winning, (which is why we lost 10 in a Row) . What is more, McCoist was brought up in a Rangers Team that bought the best rather than concentrate on developing their own and he signed what he thought was the best available and he got a bunch of wasters. He needed a strong assistant manager but sadly he had McDowall, an appointment made by Smith that I could never understand at the time.

23 Apr 2016 16:09:56
McCoist is and always will be a legend to me. John Greig was a terrible manager, still a legend. He's also been taking a wage from Rangers for years. That's what Clubs do to legends, they give them jobs and sometimes it doesn't work out. It shouldn't tarnish what he achieved as a player and coach.

23 Apr 2016 18:03:04
For me McCoist ruined his own legacy through poor choices which ultimately look no more than selfish greed. He may have another angle but I doubt it.

23 Apr 2016 13:42:23
Strong opinions on both side's- coisty himself could and should do more.

He owes fans an explanation about the money and shares he took and why he didn't speak out- as well as being manager he acted as a public face of a board made up of some shady characters. They used him to keep fans on side, they couldn't have done it without him.

Guy was my hero growing up but his behaviour as manager leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Not having a go at anyone but those trying to defend him are using arguments based on emotions not facts.

23 Apr 2016 13:45:19
i don't spout bile about macoist only facts if u invite him u may as well invite all the players that runaway and pocketed large signing on fees instead of the club or liquidator getting some fees.

23 Apr 2016 23:45:56
Luigi good post mate i couldn't have put it better myself, though i must add the reason mccoist has said nowt is probably because he will make a fortune from us supporters when he eventually writes a book about the strange going onns at our club during his time as manager.
