Would you stay at a big club in a big season knowing the consequences of not delivering, Gerrard could have given up on us when two other big clubs tried to sign him, Derby and Leeds.
Would you rather stay in Scotland and try your hardest to get us back were we belong, that's what Gerrard is in the process of doing, the guy has class.
There's no one wants this title more than him.
I trust him 100% and believe he will deliver, we are top of the league undefeated so when we are mathematically out the Race then fire away.
We still had a mathematical chance last season when Celtic were awarded the tainted title and some on here were saying they deserved it (💩) and Would have doubled the gap (💩) .
It was all about probablys, probably isn't definite. Get behind the guy and the team.

I think everyone needs to look into the bigger picture regards where we are as a club at this moment. Look at us from day one of gerrards reign, what have we improved on? let's look at 4 key areas

TRANSFERS- He has been backed significantly in the transfer market and has a terrible success ratio ( yes some blame lies with recruitment team but surely SG signs off on each transfer ) at a glance its 1 in 3 are a success 1 IN 3! that's shocking strike rate. No player that he has brought in has moved on for a profit. Transfer dealings for me are a fail

DOMESTICALLY- We have bottled it in almost every single game in his tenure ( semi finals, games to put pressure on THEM, games to open a lead, must wins games to stay in the hunt ) . Yes people will say the players haven't shown the heart but they are HIS players. Almost every member of the squad is a SG signing. We have won 0 and have ended the seasons a long way behind Celtic. Again this is a fail

EUROPE- Yes we have done fantastic in Europe and has helped financially so on this front its a success

TACTICS- Does SG have a plan B? can he shake it up? can he make subs to impact a game? Answer is more often than not, NO. When we are struggling or behind in a game he sits with hands in his pockets looking clueless. So have to say this is a failure

so on these 4 points he has failed 3 of the 4, any other manager would have been long gone

I know we will get all the usual talk of " look where we were" " would you rather have Pedro" etc etc and from that shambles we are a better side but let's be real, anyone would have been an improvement from that debacle

Will chopping and changing give us success? highly unlikely but can anyone say they are truly happy? How long do we continue to accept mediocracy, lack of heart, fight etc?

Its two years of playing catch up to that lot in east end. Instant success was never going to happen. We have improved granted we should of won a cup. The squad we have now is worth 10x what it was when Gerrard arrived. People need to try backing manager at last season we dropped points n never looked like scoring in games. that's not been the case this year we just need to be more clinical. Get behind manager I honestly think the league will be ours this year.

He's would get more of a break if he was persevering with young players instead of dropping them and forgetting about them. Or in some cases signing potential players with no intention of giving them a chance. A lot of money being wasted unfortunately, just need to hope this season works out.

Its the lack of tactical know how that I believe is the cause of our lack of consistency. We have some really good players that on their day will give a lot of teams in europe and of course celtic a good hiding. Its the managers inexperience. 👍.

I have no faith in any of Gerrard's signings now! How many millions has he spent over the last 2 years on 36 players that have won us nothing? Not good enough! Blackthornboy17 not every player we have been linked with has to inspire every supporter. All Paul86 is saying is from what he has seen, no matter where he has seen it that this player doesn't look that good in his opinion. I worry about the signing for a few reasons. I for one had never heard of him before we were linked with him and it is unusual for a player who is nearly 28 years of age and playing in the Championship to have such a low profile. Most people I have spoken to about him have never heard of him. At 28 we need to be buying someone who can come in and make a real difference, not another squad player or else the money will be wasted. Whether people like it or not we need to be shrewd with the money we spend. We play in Scotland and get next to nothing in TV revenue so we need to buy players at an age where we can improve them and sell for profit and then move onto the next player. Taking someone at his age and paying money for him we will never make profit. If he plays and is the difference maker and wins us the league then regardless of sell on value then it will have been a good signing. I can't claim to know SGs transfer needs but in my opinion we need a strong, athletic midfielder who can take the ball and drive with it. I think Daniel Johnson is more a number 10 type player and I don't think he offers anything different to what we have. His height is listed at 1.74m which is 5ft 7in. Its only my opinion but we lack physicality and I don't think he brings that.

All of the above are only my opinions. i'm certainly not writing the guy off and hope he is a massive success if we do sign him. But, like Paul86 I worry that this signing won't be a succesful one.

BHG when I compare recent signings from the signings we made since the liquidation I would say we waste less money now.

Are the current players good enough to win the league or for that fact is the manager I don’t know, but I think we needed someone of Gerrards reputation to attract better players.

Delman why do these players have to have cost over £1m? transfer fees are manageable it’s players steeling wages that cripple a club! So that’s anyone who signs weather for a fee or not if they are not fighting to get in the first team or nowhere near the required level it’s bad management and there’s plenty Gerrard signings that fit that description.

Sucess signings. Mclaughlin, Balogun ( if get him fit), Helander, Barisic, Davis, Kamara ( due to only costing 50k), Aribo, Kent this season starting to show his worth. Goldson is very accident prone but could say not to bad a signing. Katic very raw positioning all over the place probably our 4th best centre half. defoe (although very high wage to sit on bench most weeks. Bassey i like the look of

Duds. Flanagan, firth, Ojo, Ejaria, Worral ( horrendous), Jones, Hastie, stewart, Docherty, Big Sadiq, Grezda, that's off the top of my head.

i want him to suceed its clear everybody does but he just to stubborn to change his system, almost like warburton. except warburton done in with pennies. stevie has spent 30 million.

I like your post Paul re signings etc u list eleven successes signed, we already had Alf, Morelos tav, add Greg’s and arfield so not too bad a signing ratio.
Re duds I agree in the main only Grezda signed for significant money by Sg.
Most of rest free transfers who in my opinion were brought in as squad players as we needed numbers.
Coldo and others in relation 36 players signed for 30 million
Kent 7 million
Helander 3 million
Goldston 3 million
Barisic. 2 million
Katic 1.5 million
Hagi 3 million
Roofe 4 million
Itten 2.5 million
So ther 26 of the 30 we allegedly spent. So on other people’s reckoning we signed 28 players for less than 5 million. Not bad business although I am first to agree some were very poor signings.
Add Davis Defoe Bassey Balogun to success it’s not as bad as the picture some would have us believe.
Like many on here we want the same, win silver.
As I and others have written we need three or four better than we have to move forward.
Everyone remembers 14-2-12 we don’t want to go back to that so not all signings can be for millions.
That’s why Paterson, maxwell, memube Weston Graham Mayo king mcrorie are so important to our future if they continue to develop.

Tactics elude gerrard, he sat on the bench because he had no clue how to change it. Defoe for hagi proved that. He is still making the same tactical mistakes. Is it not the managers job to ensure that players have the right mentallity so that we don't keep making 'individual errors' when put under pressure? I have heard Jack would have made a difference, no he wouldn't because we were dominating the play and game from midfield, we didn't drop points because of the midfield. Aribo would have slowed our play up aswell. Is it not the managers job to reinforce our dominance tactically when we were dominating at 2-1? Morelos was crying out for more physical support up top. What does Gerrard do, he puts defoe on. 🤦‍♂️👍.

We didn't draw because of tactics coldo. Individual mistakes at the back and missed chances going forward. That happens.
Aribo creates and takes chances, something Davis, kamara, Jack don't do as often.
If we were dominating play, why would SG things? Chances were created and not taken.
It's why we dropped points 😉.

Because when you are in a position of strength you capitalize tactically on that grumpy. We dominated the play in midfield up to their 18 yard box. If we put big itten up top with fredo we would have kept them there. The ball kept coming back because it couldn't stick up top. Ultimately leading to their goal. 👍.
