Well fellow bears the betfred league cup semi final draw has thrown up rangers v celtic at hampden in a months time, let's go and give a very good account of ourselves and what will be will be, let's embrace it nothing to be afraid of, just like our semi final win in april past let's show them the real glasgow rangers by turning up and playing well as a team, really looking forward to it, bring it on!

22 Sep 2016 22:25:42
Just hope we've got a settled 11 by then and still not trying to find out by time it gets here.

22 Sep 2016 22:29:01
What's the script for tickets this time? Will they be on sale to general public etc. I'm on leave and will be back home for those dates!

22 Sep 2016 22:39:10
Tickets will not be on sale to general public. They will go to continuous credit scheme season ticket holders first then most likely do a draw for rest if season ticket holders. Supporters groups will get allocated some tickets too.

22 Sep 2016 22:46:42
Rafbob, the tickets won't get near public sale mate, its continuous credit scheme first and then a ballot amongst the rest of our season ticket holders.

23 Sep 2016 09:57:00
Thought as much guys, worth asking to be sure though. Cheers for replying.

23 Sep 2016 10:41:54
Bit more positive this time for game against them players will be back for this game that we didn't have last time like Wilson holt and waggy windass and crooks should be fitter so here goes guys.

22 Sep 2016 22:10:22
Great draw for the semi-finals. get a settled side over the next few weeks, then ram it right up their ronson.

22 Sep 2016 23:04:47
Billyb, what has happened since the 5-1 league defeat that makes you think that this is a good draw for Rangers? Please tell me because I can't see it.

23 Sep 2016 07:15:03
Barton and Niko won't start in the middle this time. Wilson is back and playing well. Septics momentum has slowed with a draw and a struggle against Alloa it appears the new manager effect has worn off. Waghorn will be fully fit touch wood and Garner should be settled. There is a LOT different.

23 Sep 2016 08:36:19
Johnnymac, I believe that we were beginning to think that we were shaping up well, then we had the piggery debacle, when MW decided on his ridiculous team selection and tactics.
This match will show just how much he has taken on board.
We, also, have a few tasty games in between, so we need to be organised and no more excuses for bedding in players.
This game will show us the potential of our team, and what a platform to show the world the 5-1 defeat was just a really bad day at the office.

23 Sep 2016 09:49:14
There are bad days at the office then there's been pumped at the office .

23 Sep 2016 14:26:52
BBG, maybe your last comment is for another page!

23 Sep 2016 17:54:33
Johnnymac. The return of Holt has already made a difference. Add a fit Windass and Crooks plus Waghorn back to full fitness and it will be a different proposition next time. Personally, I'd keep Barton out but find room for Rossiter when he's fit again.

23 Sep 2016 15:28:30
The team selection against QotS worked, (even although it was against lower league opposition) . I will be intrigued to see whether Warburton sticks with this team against Aberdeen or whether he reverts back to the previous one.

There were many pluses for me in that QotS game and it would be unfortunate if players that did well in that game are left out against Aberdeen to accommodate others than have been playing poorly.

22 Sep 2016 21:59:54
Celtic in the semi! Good! Give us the sheep in the final! Happy days!

23 Sep 2016 05:43:12
u will not get to the final but love your optimissum hh.

23 Sep 2016 06:58:46
Why do Celtic fans put heil hitler at the end of every post? Must be OCD. That would explain the obsession with Rangers too.

23 Sep 2016 07:40:06
Got to love bandyshoys attempt at spelling "optimissum" eh lads😂Must be those daft schools they went to.

23 Sep 2016 07:50:45
That spelling of optimism is ridicyoolus.

23 Sep 2016 08:45:34
just spat our my porridge Dawson lmao.

22 Sep 2016 21:53:24
we just drawn the tic in the cup.

22 Sep 2016 21:05:34
Apologies if this is common knowledge, I've been away for a few weeks, but what's happened to Jordan rossiter? I seen he wasn't in the squad on Tuesday.

22 Sep 2016 22:51:29
Think he's been injured for a couple weeks.

22 Sep 2016 20:10:27
Hayes looks likely to be out of the game on sunday, another massive boost for us!

23 Sep 2016 14:22:18
The bad news he'll still be in attendance so that horrendous mug will be on show regardless!

22 Sep 2016 19:05:04
Bears, we ARE going through a difficult time no doubt! But Warbs must be given time. Personally unless we are sitting 6th or lower come the split then we stick by him, I agree that he should adapt formation for certain games. When Warbs arrived and built a team from scratch for pennys and proceeded to get us believing that we had landed ourselves a diamond of a Manager 6 months later we wanted him signed up on a longer contract we worried that he may be lured down South! That was not that long ago, Warbs has a hell of a job and he WILL make mistakes but he WILL prevail. That mob should be decades ahead of us but they are not, winning the league sounded possible but prob not AND a 2nd or 3rd will suffice and realistically it would still be a positive regarding we ARE still rebuilding. Regarding Barton I hope it can be sorted out and he runs out at Ibrox in the nxt 4-5 wks, that said IF say Burnley or Leeds come in for him in Jan then so be it we cannot afford a 15k a week player to be sitting on his ass. I had high hopes for Joey but don't think we can terminate his contract without paying out in Full. Anyways just my opinion Bears but regarding Warbs we have to support the man, he WILL take us forward.

22 Sep 2016 21:22:52
Great post. Got to agree. Its been a rough start to the season but i can only see us improving. This WILL be the most difficult season of my lifetime at least. The fans need to realise this and accept it will be a struggle and we will drop points. Everyone was really impressed with Aberdeen challenging in 2nd last year and they only won 2/ 3 of games.

22 Sep 2016 21:51:50
In agreement too! All I can say is our management team are absolute gentlemen of the highest order I just hope we can hang onto them and the crap that goes on day in day out in the press and so forth doesn't have any effect on them I have never heard a bad or controversial word since they took over but have heard plenty about them from everywhere including our own I suppose though they are paid to put up with somethings but a bit of respect wouldn't go amiss! Warp always.

23 Sep 2016 07:57:43
Bears d'ya think Mcparland may get involved with the Barton saga, by all accounts he has a good relationship with him and if I remember rightly was a big Influence in his decision to come here so maybe Frank could have a word wi him and hopefully after/ during these 3 weeks things will have settled? I'm sure tho the ball is in Bartons court on terms of just how he goes about proving to Warbs that he not only wants back but he will seriously get his head down and graft! Show everyone what he can bring to the table, we know the guy has talent he's just failed to turn up he's going to have to button his lip and try and earn a place in the squad. This too will test his resolve as he will need to bide
his time and prove himself and I dunno if he will able to work himself up from bottom of list as I think. k that's where he will be in Warbs eyes, really hope he does get down to work and turns this around but it will take a couple of months poss before he's where he THINKS he should be BUT if he does show it in training surely Warbs won't hang him out to dry for too long? A place on the bench would be a massive step and goal. Also I'm sure him and Halliday can sort it out, its the relationship wi the Manager that's the hurdle, Warbs knows the maniac is a good player! We have options but wouldn't hurt to have him about and ready to play yeah.

23 Sep 2016 09:49:03
I don't understand the big fuss abt barton coming back into the team. if everyones fit he wouldn't be in my team anyway. I don't get this myth that he's got "undoubted ability"either, i must be one of only a few people that thinks he's massively overrated.

22 Sep 2016 18:26:58
Iamnoboyscout have you been stealing material off o Lenny Henry. c'mon up your game, the stinking bishop of banter. truly awful.

22 Sep 2016 12:33:20
Apparently the sheep are planning a minutes applause to mark the "first visit of Rangers". Nothing I'd love more than to put a few past them and shut them up. !

22 Sep 2016 14:11:02
I would love it, if we scored 11mins 55secs, would they still applaud on the 12th minute lol.

22 Sep 2016 13:07:19
Yeah they're handing out posters asking all fans to stand and applause in the 12th minute in memory of Rangers. Which I honestly reckon is hilarious. If we aren't the same club as they claim to believe. Why applause the life of a club they claim has nothing to do with us when we play them? All this attention on us from other clubs, especially septic, only reinforces the truth that we ARE the same club.

22 Sep 2016 13:40:53
can't you bears take a bit of baaaas nter.

22 Sep 2016 14:43:16
Won't make a difference.

We'll be 2-0 up come the 12th minute.

Doesn't send out a strong message when your crowd are applauding whilst the team is getting completely outplayed on the park.

22 Sep 2016 15:12:10
When did we ever take the sheep seriously? 3 or 4 decent seasons in the early 80s is their claim to fame. In 113 years they have won a massive 4 league titles. New club or not, I'll take a bet we get to 5 before they do. Let them have a wee laugh, can't be much fun in Aberdoom.

22 Sep 2016 16:45:32
once we totally embarrass them then we should applaud them for 4 mins.

22 Sep 2016 17:45:33
The oils drying up and Rangers are coming! Never a worse time to be a sheep-fancier!

22 Sep 2016 15:52:49
Imnoboyscout, how can we be bears if we are a new team? Hmmmm
And if we are a new team why are so many Celtic fans on here. and if we aren't your biggest rivals as so many of you claim, why are you spending all your time on here and not on the Aberdeen, hearts and st Johnston pages.
Oh yes, it's because you're obsessed!
"You just can't get enough" of the most successful team on the planet haha.

22 Sep 2016 16:44:57
we will get to our #55 before they come second again lol.

22 Sep 2016 16:52:42
@Cullin72

I can't believe you are even entertaining 'a new club' p! sh! We hit 5 decades ago.

If we were a new club how come everyone still hates us? A new club couldn't possible have so many enemies, considering we have only just arrived in the Premier League too.

22 Sep 2016 16:58:26
11th minute start singing your only sheep-shaggin bast*rds, sheep-shaggin bast*rds, don't think they'll clap then lol but seriously 3-0 on sunday, miller, waghorn and forrester to score.

22 Sep 2016 18:03:47
If the sheep see fit to ram you,
Will you on monday morning feel like little lambs, who are about to become kebabs, ready to be consumed by all above you in the spfl food chain.

22 Sep 2016 19:03:14
We'll win five titles before they win another one. Thought it was pretty straight forward.

22 Sep 2016 20:48:10
Devil's advocate- the argument about 'why' could simply be that whilst it's a new team, it's the same fans.

22 Sep 2016 21:31:41
In that case tpp, we have only had 2 clubs to Celtic's 3, They beat us there.

22 Sep 2016 21:45:20
You don't even believe that, that's what makes it so sad.

22 Sep 2016 13:01:22
Not sure how spl/ sfa/ police think that there won't be major trouble with pathetic proactive action like this.

This whole old club / New club debate is a debate amongst idiots.

Just makes me want to beat them even more, need to play much better than we have done so far this season. Good opportunity to make up for the non performance in old firm game.

22 Sep 2016 23:26:20
Let them do what they want. Let's do our talking on the park, another 5-0 result to us would do me the world of good but I would settle for us scoring one more than them.

23 Sep 2016 07:05:35
I would like them to start their minutes applause and for us to score seconds into it. Just like Ricksen silenced You'll Never Walk Alone haha. See if they keep applauding then.

23 Sep 2016 17:13:07
Rutherglenbear, and all other bears, we are going to have to put up with this guff for years, let's all stand as one, boycott all away games for a season or two, then see how they get on, let's make a stand against all the bias press, let them see how they get without the blue pound, back to empty stadiums, there crowds will tumble as we haveseen these last few years, we have shown that we don't need them, let's see how much they miss us.

22 Sep 2016 12:08:03
Confident of a win on Sun, they haven't been playing well and we have good options for it also they have a tough game tomorrow night and we have 2 days more rest.
Think it's a great chance for 3pts at a difficult venue.

22 Sep 2016 13:44:40
As far back as i can remember aberdeen have played poorly until Rangers roll into town then the demon head goes on them so i wouldn't read to much into there performances and the fact we've got 2 days more recovery.

22 Sep 2016 14:25:25
all theyear we have played them they have given us tough games even the years when we won every encounter they are all tough matches.

I do belive we will win on sunday but will be like 2-1 or by one goal.
but if we could win by more like say a three goal deficit then we will be hard to beat after that as it will give us the belief we can win any game.

22 Sep 2016 14:49:32
People keep saying that lot will be more up for this game than usual.

Every team makes us their cup final when we roll into town. Sunday will be no different.

But some forget the Bears have a point to prove as well. Performances in the league have been poor. Crucial players from last season's team are back and firing, Waghorn, Holt, McKay to a certain extent came on and made a difference and Tavernier who's played well every game this season.

Wilson and Hill will likely be the pairing. Wilson is our best Centre Back and he's been missed.

22 Sep 2016 16:49:28
thorn76 don't u think senderos will be there beside Wilson .
I honestly don't know who is the lesser evil between rob keirnan and senderos whoever plays there better be on their game that goes for Wilson aswell he best be at his best because they will test us and we better be ready for them.

22 Sep 2016 18:36:26
Sendeross everytime before kiernan for me. he at least goes up and attacks the ball albeit sometimes with his hand✋✋.

22 Sep 2016 23:26:54
I think it might affect Aberdeen, they ain't too hot tonight either.

22 Sep 2016 10:18:42
I know this will be laughed at straight away but here it goes!

Yaya Toure - now hear me out, is time at city is up, he is 33 years of age, its unlikely that any club will pay over the odds for him at this stage of his career, i wonder if the powers that be could broker a deal with Man City to allow us to have him on loan from Jan to end of May. can't afford his wages etc i know that but if we get shot of JB which is likely to happen and we can even offer 20K a week with City covering the rest it means he will be playing first team football with more chance of a team being more willing to pay the bucks for him come next summer rather than rotten in City's second string. prospect of playing in up to 4 Old Firms depending on cup runs etc Yaya v Kolo. It would be without a doubt all eyes on Yaya up north even if it is for a matter of months.

22 Sep 2016 10:43:50
We have enough walking football players now anyway!

22 Sep 2016 10:45:34
Will we never learn?

22 Sep 2016 11:27:50
would rather have yaya banana.

22 Sep 2016 11:51:06
I honestly think we'd have a better chance of getting Kolo.

22 Sep 2016 12:02:23
Id ask for aguero whilst there mate, he seems an alright player lol i think we've got to concentrate on finding good solid players rather than punt out big names yaya was a great player but come on, ill have a pint of whatever you've been drinking.

22 Sep 2016 13:45:22
Hahahaha.

22 Sep 2016 13:57:02
Stopped reading and hit disagree as soon as a read Yaya Toure.

22 Sep 2016 13:11:12
I think the only mistake the Hat has made is to think that we needed 'experience'. Screw that! Stick to the young lads they haven't let us down yet!

22 Sep 2016 14:29:32
van persie also coming in with yaya and heard the iniesta is going to be out of favour next season we will be looking good for the future.

22 Sep 2016 15:02:28
4 old firm games depending on cup runs? Maximum of 3 as the league cup will be over before then.

22 Sep 2016 23:15:47
I could see man city going for that deal right enough we pay the 1st 20k and city cover the other 180k of his weekly wage, oh aye I could see city agreeing to that bargain offer. lol.

22 Sep 2016 08:11:23
What has surprised me about the barton saga is his wages have been suggested to be 20grand a week. Do we never learn our lesson no player should be on more than 10 grand a week. We are still in major financial trouble with no retail are European money and running at a loss. And no sign of the retail deal ever being sorted we should be living within our means.

22 Sep 2016 08:29:38
He's not on that. He's on roughly 12 grand a week, closer to 15 with bonuses probably.

Probably has a mental clause for a bonus if we win the league, not that i'm suggesting we will but i think he's in it for the "life experience" as he says. Hopefully this is a good boot up the arse for him and he's still got a future. then again he's had a few and not reacted.

22 Sep 2016 08:49:52
I doubt the players know exactly what they are on never mind pundits and fans.

22 Sep 2016 10:04:32
We have a wage cap in place, NO PLAYER at all will be near to 20k, We can't afford £1mil purely for a players wage.

22 Sep 2016 11:31:57
Hope your right onlyshow and that would be the sensible way.

22 Sep 2016 23:02:45
Cee

You have to be joking if you think the players don't know what they are on.

22 Sep 2016 23:22:09
Think it more like super Ally says there he will be on a basic between 10/ 12k then bonuses that probably take it to 15k max because we just don't have the money to pay 20k a week.

22 Sep 2016 23:48:56
It was all a con to get free advertising for barton's book!

22 Sep 2016 01:11:30
Anyone read Chris Boyd in the paper the day? 100% agree.
Joey Bawbag has made a mockery of everything Mr Warburton has achieved in the last year. I was as surprised as like most of us when he signed and genuinely wanted him to be brilliant.
Talk about a disappointment a plenty.
Personally, I think he, like many down south underestimated our game. Thought he'd be the best player cause he's played in the so called best league in the world. We might not have the quality but we have the dig and will to win passionately.
I'd much rather have half an Andy Halliday than a team of Barton's.
No one will be more cringing about this sideshow than our manager but, he has handled it swiftly and with class.

22 Sep 2016 04:48:11
Agree with a lot of what you're saying warb and from what I read *Kris Boyd got it spot on. We need to deal with this correctly had enough of our club being on the front pages and not the back for the right reasons.
