There is still the C.V. issue, Man Utd have lost 23m off the back of it already, there is money being lost and will continue to be lost until it’s over, especially with no gates. I’m not saying we won’t spend more but it’s more likely we will spend what we get in from sales with what’s going on. That could end up being a lot if Alfie, Kamara etc were to be sold. We are not skint by any means but now is a time for sensible business by all of football not just rangers.

We as a Club cannot underestimate the effect that CV is, and is continuing to have on finances. We will need to cut our cloth accordingly and be sensible in any spending we make, I'm not so sure that because we have monies due in that we can or will go gung ho in spending big money on players.
I want our Club to survive this, and still be here for us to support in years to come, that's how serious I view this situation the World finds itself in, just my own opinion folks.

brings me to the point as to why there was a big push from the spfl to close the season down because it would affect clubs financially, they have all got their 30 pieces of silver plus end of season money, now we are hearing the whole championship could collapse if there's no football with fans there, they all knew this before the season was finished yet went along with it, now its hearts bleating on about they won't survive in the championship if they can't play a complete quota of games when the season eventually starts, there now begging to be allowed to stay in the premier league, you now have the daily rag saying this should not be allowed to happen to a club the size of hearts, short memories come to mind for me, as far as i am concerned they can rot in oblivion as they all hoped we would.

@Steven Gerrard loyal yes mate it is about opinions and your right Docherty hasn't had his chance to shine at rangers yet and I disagree that Ryan jack adds bite to our midfield Ferguson is much more aggressive and I feel would add to our midfield in turn allowing jack more energy further up pitch playmaking role.

SG certainly seems to have his favourites though. There was times when various players looked out of form and the energy and drive of mccrorie and docherty could have changed a game.
Not buying they're not good enough for rangers. They're easily good enough for Scottish football.

RE: Docherty, very fit young lad but doesn't have outstanding technical ability, no real pace, he's not tall, one footed, not a ball winner, doesn't read the game very well, passing is average, to hold down a midfield place at Rangers you need to be outstanding in at least one, individual high fitness is not an attribute that gets you a place. I understand peoples hunger for a Ger to make it and do well but we have no time for romance, we have one job to do and one job only - STOP Celtic and win the league. Time to get some real quality players in the team, the time has come and gone when we were a club that would take maybes and almost theres. We have pretty much got to the point we all wanted, the players that we needed along the way but not good enough are now almost all gone. We will now be able to replace the 6 outgoing not quite Rangers class players with perhaps 2 Rangers caliber players trimming the squad and improving the quality at the same time. When Arf and Davis are on the bench and Jack is fighting for his life for a place in the team the Rangers team will be back to where it should be.

Docherty always finds a teammate with his pass and always makes himself available to receive a pass. Also scores 15 goals a season from midfield. SG and GM made a major error of judgment here.

Docherty does not always find a team mate as proved during the time he played for Rangers and was heavily criticized by Murty and was a headless chicken in all games for Rangers. He scored 6 in 94 games for Hamilton, never scored for Rangers in 11 games, 7 goals for Shewsbury in 47 games and 1 in 6 for Hibs, so yes he has scored 14 goals from MF but it took him 8 years and 152 games. What exactly has Doc done to merit all this hype I can't get my head round it. Please explain if i'm missing something in his past and don't mention Shrewsbury . He has achieved nothing absolutely nothing, zero, zilch, FA. Have we all forgotten this is f*&^ (ing Rangers. Sorry don't normally get annoyed but if i'm missing something let me know. Next season is no time for taking chances. All we need is x16 robust 6 foot hard hitting technical footballers that don't do social media, get Rangers and eat pressure for breakfast = league.

Ryan jack, arguably our best midfield, career stats=265 games for the sheep and rangers and he's scored 19 goals. So Dochertys stats maybe aren't so bad? 🤔 I don't think anyone is saying he's a world beater but he hasn't really had a decent chance at rangers.
He certainly hasn't done anything to warrant a long rant about 😉.

2 subjects for the price of one firstly football is nothing without fans at the game -secondly hearts relegation was all wrong still in the hunt 4 points back and in the semi-final of the Scottish cup after knocking us out is not a team destined for relegation -and giving celtic the title with 9 games left on our card was iffy at best. if the league gets re-constructed and hearts stay up the title should be taken from timmy-my take --will it happen no.

To be fair to greg docherty Sirwalter54,he hasn't had the chance at rangers to fulfill his potential.
I'll point you to docherty's performances at both shrewsbury and hibs on his loan deals at both clubs mate. He was the shrewsbury town player of the year, scoring a good few goals into the bargain and he's also been playing well for hibs. The hibs fans want to sign docherty permanently and have raved about him since he signed for them on loan! I rate docherty better than lewis ferguson mate simple as that and its all about opinions! 👍.

This might be a bit too optimistic but i'm hoping Rangers go out and spend 20M on players for next season is there any reason why they cant? They have EL money hopefully a new investor as well use season ticket money to keep the lights on I'm not saying go crazy but spend enough to rip other spl teams apart and have a team that can go toe to toe with Celtic there's no need to go into debt I wouldn't ask that but get in maybe 4 players with values at 5-6M a pop then go after epl rejects loans ofcourse so your looking at 7 players coming in we could free up wages getting out duds there's many ways to explore.

A lot of talk about Lewis Ferguson over Greig Docherty - two very different types of midfielder. One is strong and robust and the other fast and silky.
My opinion is that I think that these two would compliment each other in a Rangers midfield.
I look forward to both joining up next season at Ibrox.

Here is another opinion that I will keep - I think that young Lewis Ferguson (21) is still developing, and is very solidly build, and as such is a very strong and can hold his own in midfield as he has proved time and time again. He has dipped now and then but think that was due to him playing in an inferior team. Not as quick as some midfielders but his strength more than makes up for it.

German league back up and games being played. Spanish football due to start on 17 or 18 June. English league to restart.17-18 June. Colombian, Mexican, Chile, leagues returning in two weeks. Belgian league leaders declared winners, but was impossible to catch them with games remaining. Holland null and void. No winners, losers. Scotland. Declare winners and relegate teams unfairly. Why could we not play 2-3 games a week to finish, the same as all these other leagues. Scottish football is once again a joke. Anyhoo, brilliant in the capture of hagi. I think we should have sold some of our players though, rather than letting them go for nothing. Maybe their contracts expired. Didn't look. Keep safe.

It's quite common for a business to operate at a loss, lots of big companies carry a manageable debt that can be offset with the security of assets.
If rangers run at a loss of 10-12m per season one large transfer fee will offset that debt.
Celtic done this with the sales of Van Dick, Dembele and most probably Edouard.
Michael Stewart also talking about wage deferrals! Mikey Look up the word deferral ya muppet! Wages are deferred and will be paid back over the course of the next season so, If rangers want to spend some money on Acquiring a potential future asset then what the Fu*K has it got to do with you ya roaster!

i would like to think that by the time next season starts we have signed three or four better players than we had last season. We will need strength in depth and every squad player needs to be capable of playing without weakening the team. We lacked leadership and a winning mentality on the pitch last season, we can't afford to have the same problems 2020 - 21.
