Lot's of people slating Murty at the moment, personally i would like him to be our manager as i honestly rate him. not only that, but he hasn't has the full squad to work with and i honestly believe that Jack/ Dorrans/ Wallace and McCrorie will be hugely influential to us. He needs more competition in key areas such as Wide midfielders and a creative midfielder, i think Dorrans would fit that once he is in, as Windass is just too inconsistent. We have a potentially VERY good manager on our hands who has been thrown in to the deep end of managing one of the most successful clubs in the world with extraordinary expectations. I think he deserves the time and our loyalty.

22 Mar 2018 13:45:59
Potentially a very good manager? We don’t have the time to wait and see if he is, his record isn’t good enough so for me it’s a no

22 Mar 2018 15:43:11
I Don’t think he is being slated just think more and more people don’t think he is up to the job and should go back to the u20s. He is a good guy and has done ok however if we are to challenge Celtic we need someone with more experience

22 Mar 2018 19:30:56
Teddy agree with you that Murty has done OK but we need a tried and trusted man for the position and to be honest do we really trust our board to pick that man?
After the appointment of Pedro no one was made accountable and no one from the board explained how he had any qualifications for the job? It was a disgraceful appointment and put as backwards! 🇬🇧🇬🇧

22 Mar 2018 21:57:32
I'm still waiting on a explanation from the board as to why Pedro was appointed. I trusted that there was good reason for it at the time such as foreign investment and he was their preferred man. But no we've had nothing.

22 Mar 2018 23:55:34
Mikeger, that's in the past, not long ago right enough, but we need to move on .

23 Mar 2018 07:53:38
I honestly don't have one shred of doubt that graeme murty should remain our permanent manager, at least into the start of next season,
on a 12 month rolling contract! Maybe its just me, but i honestly don't see too much of a gamble having murty remain our manager, at least for the start of next season to see how he goes! With a few more transfer windows with murty and allen, going by the january window, i can only see positive signs! Murty will gain his experience and become more tactically aware, within the rangers manager's job imo anyway! Would be a mistake in my eyes overlooking murty, for the manager's job! Our loss would undoubtedly be, some other football club's gain! Murty will go on to become a very good manager! Let him evolve with us! I honestly don't wear, ie. quotes being said like, "murty's not a big enough name", "murty's inexperienced", "murty's makes mistakes tactically", etc! Murty is perfect working under a DOF, he knows our football club and the way its set out to function, from top to bottom, he's a very good coach and has players WANTING to play for him, senior and youths! He'll only gain the experience with being in the job! Its honestly a "no brainer" for me to at the very least, give murty the start of next season, in the job! We could honestly regret it big time, if we don't! Murty will only get better and better and that's my honest assessment of the guy!

23 Mar 2018 08:57:53
Didn't see much signs the players want to play for him in the last game! We signed decent players in January but we're still losing far too many games. Think everyone knows coops views on murty but there's a good few folk on here that feel just as strongly that we need a better quality of manager

23 Mar 2018 09:50:16
Of course blueberry, everyone has their opinion and are perfectly entitled to mate! We've all got our preferences and without doubt, i'll give my total backing to anyone who gets the rangers manager's job! I've been supporting and following rangers everywhere, for over 40 years now, and always have backed my club, boy and man! The players have certainly responded to murty big time, since he got the job until the end of the season! The Kilmarnock game that blueberry correctly mentions, where our players did seem very flat and lethargic, can happen after an old firm defeat hangover! I've seen this sort of thing happen many times after us losing an old firm game, with better rangers managers than graeme murty and better rangers players than our current players!

once again, the demand is for instant success.
The opportunity was there when the club went to the bottom tier.
Play youth and build-up both playing and business to a sound footing. But no, Ally wanted (and probably under pressure by the board) right back into top league. Answer? Spend more than necessary to do this.
All through the rise up the leagues, same thing. Throw money for instant success.
No planning for future and now we come to today. Tried the money thing (limited in comparison to the CL cash Celtic have had available) and a few numpties, including the manager.
I would give Murty the nod NOW so that he can plan for next season and beyond.
It might be painful for a while but look at the number of teams who have stuck by one man and I think Murty has the potential if given the backing. Just my tuppenceworth anyway.

23 Mar 2018 14:12:00
As much as I think murty is a decent enough bloke. I've seen nothing in our performances, especially at ibrox to suggest murty has the ability or potential to be a successful manager. I HOPE we win cup and finish 2nd but I've got my doubts to be honest

Bring back Bob Malcolm 😀.

Would a big name ‘A lister’ gaffer such as Frank de Boer or GVB have any interest working alongside a director of football who effectively highlights player signings?

I think Mr. King’s idea of getting in a British manager will changed over the course of the last few months.
Realistically he wanted Mciness at the time who ticked all of those boxes.

But now he’s had a chance to explore I wouldn’t be too surprised to see someone European with the calibre of FDB.

22 Mar 2018 11:32:43
I wouldn't want F D B OR G V B TO BE HONEST better going brittish bu who is the question

22 Mar 2018 13:15:36
I've got nothing against going British regarding our manager but gio would be a great shout as manager

23 Mar 2018 01:55:41
I would like a British manager as well but let's be fair, who ticks the boxes? As an outside shout I would potentially push the boat out for Thomas Tuchel, said it before, no compensation due (wages may be a problem), managed at a very high level beating some of Europe's best, coached some of the best players in Europe, been successful, speaks English, would have time to work with the board to identify targets and a plan going forward. I know it's wishful thinking but surely we have to think like a big club and bring in someone of an equal or greater standing than Brenda?

23 Mar 2018 07:28:54
I think Tuschel will go to Arsensl if they ever sack Wenger.

23 Mar 2018 10:20:09
Tuchel or someone like him would certainly be a statement of intent. would he come? Could we afford him? Could we give him a decent transfer budget (£12m+)? Nae idea. Some signing though

Whilst out on the randan on Saturday night, a fellow hun and myself got discussing the RFC managerial question. My homeboy was all for GM to get the job on a permanent basis and I wasn't.
Before I go any further let me say GM has brought stability and has made RFC stronger with his signings (his? ) but I personally feel he isn't equipped enough tactically by way of inexperience to change a game.
Dave King has to get someone who's astute on and off the park but who?, I'l leave that to him.
GM has done a stellar job and is obviously a great person to have at RFC. I don't want to see him sacked mid next season.
He can return to his role with his head held high cause he's done well with the hand he was dealt. 🇬🇧.

22 Mar 2018 06:31:39
Fellow hun? That says it all.

22 Mar 2018 08:38:03
Hun? Please explain please

I’ve seen my posts altered for using the word ‘moron’ before, but folk can come on a Rangers forum dropping silent bombs like nobodies business.

Sound 👍🏼

23 Mar 2018 06:37:57
My post got altered to "person" just for questioning that term but the original post is fine apparently.

{Ed001's Note - usually the filter changes the word, not sure why it missed that one. Will have to get it checked.}
