I see fraser Aird best player on the park tonight for Canada usual pish we let all these prom young player go. just one of a long list of young talent that has been let go.

23 Mar 2017 00:11:15
I really don't think it's anything to get upset about. He played well against probably the worst Scotland side in 15 years. I could of scored against Scotland tonight. I did like Aird when he was with us but we should be aiming higher than him now.

23 Mar 2017 00:34:42
Having a decent game for a third-rate country against a fourth-rate country is hardly a sign that we've let a real player go. He's not even playing in the SPL.

23 Mar 2017 09:47:01
Agree wee-ecky, i don't know why we all seem to get so nostalgic when someone leaves when they got pelters when they were here. he wasn't / isn't good enough end of!

23 Mar 2017 09:57:43
Fraser Aird was rubbish at Gers hence he left. He plats fir Falkirk which just about sums up how bad our international team is. Also total shite. The celtic minded SFA have kept Chesny in a job and basically consigned us to the bin. Good luck to Fraser he isn't the first or will be the last to leave a club and find success elsewhere. Stop whinging and support the players we have.

23 Mar 201710:15:36
How does Chesney still have a job!? He is worse than levien.

23 Mar 2017 10:34:11
He was up against Wallace mind you so was an easy night for him lol.

23 Mar 2017 10:37:51
Id just like to take a wee moment to remember Super Cooper. A true Rangers great.

23 Mar 2017 15:27:46
i can't remember aird getting pelters when he was here mind you that because i wasnt on this site back then lmao.

23 mar 2017 15:49:16
here here jls! davie cooper was one of my all time favourites! what a footballer with a world class left peg! i cried my eyes out when i heard the sad news that dc had sadly passed away at the tender age of 39,way back in 1995! gone but will never be forgotten! we will never forget this magician of a footballer that we know by the name of, "super cooper"!

23 Mar 2017 19:21:56
I was only 11 when Coop passed but can remember clear as day. i must have watched his video about 100 times. what a player.

23 Mar 2017 19:57:30
It happens with a lot of players James, ie, Adam being the obvious 1.

23 Mar 2017 18:31:06
Well said sc11
In my eyes the greatest ever and not recognised by the club he loved

23 Mar 2017 20:37:34
Loved Coop but King Brian for me has to be the greatest.

23 Mar 2017 20:31:04
Rather than being Critical of Aird and players like young Murdoch, maybe we should save our criticism for Warburton for not giving them an opportunity to prove themselves yet bringing in other players that haven't exactly been brilliant!

22 Mar 2017 14:10:43
Reading again about ex players coming back so Bears if you could bring back 1 player still playing and i'm not really for bringing anybody back but just to get some feelers out who would it be 1 player only?

Steven Davis : Southampton.

22 Mar 2017 14:19:06
What about young jamie ness

22 Mar 2017 14:28:18
Jamie Ness? is that the boy who plays at Scunthorpe? injury prone too? Think i'll pass on that one.

Steven Davis - YES!

22 Mar 2017 14:46:32
Not a huge fan of players returning but I would love to see Nikica Jelavic return. He was outstanding and I can't remember him having a poor game for us.

πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΅

22 Mar 2017 14:49:16
Would love Steven Davis back. What a footballer and gentlemen.

22 Mar 2017 15:27:20
Would take any of Davis, Adam, Jelavic, Weiss back in a heartbeat. Would also consider Boughy or Bartley purely because we're desperate for a CB, but hope PC has a better shortlist!

22 Mar 2017 15:494:19
Davis all day long for me too. Very underrated player in the EPL. A class act.

22 Mar 2017 15:58:30
I agree with your choice totally bongo! Stevie davis for me (if only)! We can but dream mate! He's a smashing midfielder!

22 Mar 2017 16:25:16
Bougherra has retired, superb tho

πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΅

22 Mar 2017 16:58:56
Aluko and Steven Davis

22 Mar 2017 17:37:45
Agree bongo Steve Davis class act.

22 Mar 2017 18:18:57
Aluko and Davis

22 Mar 2017 18:27:07
Steve Davis all day long, class midfielder

22 Mar 2017 19:50:31
Weiss

22 Mar 2017 21:00:55
What about Ross McCormack?

22 Mar 2017 21:07:40
Phil Bardsley

23 Mar 2017 00:28:52
Butcher and Gough for me. even now they would probably be better than what we currently have πŸ™
They were two amazing players.

22 Mar 2017 23:25:25
At a push aluko but generally wouldn't be a fan of taking any back. Purely on basis that your talking about players from pre five years ago. Most will either be in thirties or too expensive or both. Re weiss i am undecided. His debut came on as a sub v hibs i think and looked brilliant and created two late goals.

Beyond that his only real effective contribute was quick free kick for winner v celtic in league cup final. I fear his love for rangers is what attracts fans to him. Bulk of his career since has been spent in big last pay day pre retirement leagues. Question . helliday is a fan . does that make him a player? He certainly is not. We need players that do it on the park not social media

23 Mar 2017 05:14:03
I wouldn't have jelavic his head dropped in the last few months he was with us he wasn't interested and pushed for a move away

Would take Davis back due too the fact he pushed Southampton into paying a fee for him and aluko as this guy payed his own money too come play for us

23 Mar 2017 13:33:43
Im with you on that 1 mate. i don't think weiss was half as good as a lot of fans think. i think its the way he took to the club that the fans love about him.

23 Mar 2017 15:30:22
ross mcormack, steven davis, naisy, weiss and aluko would all improve our team. none of whom we could afford

22 Mar 2017 10:51:16
What about Allan McGregor at the end of the season. He is on loan at Cardiff or Swansea from Hull. Was a very good keeper and if the knee is ok he could do us a turn.
Thoughts guys?

22 Mar 2017 11:10:17
Aye if he's willing to pay in. I wouldn't let him anywhere near ibrox.

22 Mar 2017 11:19:01
Jaws

Totally agree mate this deserter should not be allowed anywhere near Ibrox again. He showed his true colours when he jumped ship.

22 Mar 2017 15:37:21
oh please do shut up you are like petulant children honestly.

the guy is a deserter because he didn't want to play in the lower leagues?

naw mate i am rangers through and through but i would have left aswell after spending my whole life trying my hardest to play at the highest level in the game just to lose my best years toiling in the lower leagues of scottish football for a quarter of the pay i was on, no chance.
i would have liked it if we could have got money for them but the truth of the matter is we would never have seen a penny of that anyways so holds no baring.

22 Mar 2017 15:45:33
Fair play lads ill take that as a no then

22 Mar 2017 15:44:00
Allan mcgregor, kyle lafferty, stevie naismith, steven whittaker and co made their bed and sure as hell can lie in it! Don't want any of these anywhere near glasgow rangers, ever again!

22 Mar 2017 15:51:34
Behave, he shouldn't be signed because he's 35 and foderingham is a good keeper. If Mcgregor was in his prime we would be lucky to have him.

22 Mar 2017 17:17:43
I would take naismith any day. Take the club that we all love out the equation and put yourself in a normal workplace then make Charlie green, Mike Ashley, Craig white and Stockbridge your gaffer's who'd stay then, me I'd probably be doing time for them right now. At the time I was pissed off with them but their careers are short dropping down and putting up with the dodgy dealings and under handedness that went on you can't blame anyone it doesn't matter what we think they were the ones who had to work there. We can support take pride in the achievements and as much as we feel we won this and that realistically we are bystanders that cheer on and the players are the winners they give us leagues and cups which we take credit for so we should cut them sone slack when it goes Tits up due to financial irregularities and bad management and not the bad form of those players who had played their hearts out gave us league titles when we couldn't afford to buy any new players and had a first team squad of 14 they boys produced. Supercooper 11 like you I supported the last management even when it hurt me and I knew it was gone I supported because I love this club and I believe we stand by our own so those players you don't want back won in my eyes are one of our own unless you have a few league winners medals at home we don't know about it was them not the supporters that won titles and took us to cup finals, the other day you were slagging King off the guy has stabilised our club I believe in him too and not that long ago you were sticking up for him to as I used to agree with most things you said well could agree with those rumours mate as there was some severe wild arsed rubbish in there, but don't turn all negative when we turn it around we will need quality there and if that quality is someone returning embrace it if they are good enough for us.

22 Mar 2017 17:33:43
James stirling, nobody is saying that allan mcgregor should have been wanting to play for us in the lower leagues! He could have at least stayed and got the club he professes to love (my rectum) a transfer fee, no matter how small a fee it was! They would have still been leaving if they wanted to after all! So my friend i'm also rangers through and through and i would have differed from you if i had the privilege, of playing for glasgow rangers! I would at the very least IF i were to leave at all, wanted to get the club as much of a transfer fee as they could, for me! You james stirling have got a different view on rangers through and through, to me my friend! They deserters couldn't wait to jump from a very special football club, that was very good to them! Try and understand that, will you?

22 Mar 2017 17:43:09
If the club sold them how much would have walked along with all the investment that Charlie Green drummed up and paid himself

22 Mar 2017 18:03:47
Well said supercoop.

22 Mar 2017 20:46:31
I don't hold any grudges against the lads that left. deserters? I disagree, with hindsight I'm sure they probably wish they'd hung about for nominal transfer fees but remember this, any money that came in would've gone to the crooks running our club at the time just like the 21 million we raised in shares and would've disappeared into another black hole.

They were all happy to take huge wage reductions for long enough and helped us win several trophies so I for one hold no grudges.

22 Mar 2017 19:51:10
Doesn't matter Gary, It's the principal of the thing. Do it the right way, same as guys like Bocanegra, Edu, Goiain etc. These guys behaved impeccably

22 Mar 2017 23:51:51
The players from that era are now to old for what we need. However with regards to those who say the players worked hard and couldn't be expected to play in lower divisions.

Firstly i give u juventus. Fair enough they went down one division but if a world class player like del piero can compromise there career i sure players from a third rate country can.

Secondly why not tupe over and earns fees 4 club. Obviously in hindsight money for latter would have went to green et al but that wasnt known at time. At end of the day we need to look to the future.

Find new stars rather than look to yesteryear. Take right back for example. Hutton or Whittaker what would they bring now. Up front, lafferty, wasnt great, always likely to be sent off, boyd been there 4 second spell and failed, naismith. Lpved him as a player but would not go near him. His own stupidity lead to injury that started downfall of that season.

23 Mar 2017 09:00:14
I agree that we should be looking forward to younger hungrier players than those that left us mate.

I just disagree with others that class them as "traitors".

Also with regards to your Juventus comparison, as u say they only went down 1 division and were back fighting for Scudetto's 12 months later. Del Piero, Nedved and Buffon were all in there 30's too so although it was commendable that they stayed, I don't think it is comparable with our situation. I think Parma got put down to Serie C, I'd be interested to hear how many of there assets on the pitch hung about.

23 Mar 2017 11:50:35
I have had my differences of opinion with super cooper however he is spot on with these players. They did desert the club and showed no loyalty at all. No one knew at the time what was going on at the club and these players could have easily negotiated small transfer fees for them to leave the club. They would have still got their moves and they would have left on good terms. They all chose to jump ship and didn't care if the club survived. The audacity of Naismith to hold a press conference and say the club died how can any Rangers fan forgive that?

22 Mar 2017 10:47:56
Ryan Gauld, anybody? PC must know him and the fact that he's currently playing reserve team football with seemingly little chance of a first team spot anytime soon. Wee loan deal for a season maybe?

22 Mar 2017 11:19:52
Not a bad shout and worth the risk.

22 Mar 2017 12:46:14
Sporting seemingly don't want to sell him. They rate him highly. We'd at best be able to get him on loan, which would be unlikely as Sporting don't want him to be on loan outside of Portugal.

22 Mar 2017 15:32:54
You have basically made the case for not signing him. he is a reserve team player at an average European club. He is the same as most other wonder kids remember Danny Wilson? Jamie Ness? Etc. He will fade into obscurity.

22 Mar 2017 15:38:36
i would definitely try get him back over here as he had the most potential before he left but hasn't really lit the place alight as yet

22 Mar 2017 15:52:17
Everything I've seen about him is that sporting don't rate him and he has shown nothing since he went out their. Is he not on his 2nd loan already and barely played in either?

22 Mar 2017 15:57:39
onlyshowaroud, I take it that information is from your insider contact in Lisbon? I can't find it anywhere else and I've even looked at the Portuguese media.

22 Mar 2017 23:55:19
How do loans help us long term?

23 Mar 2017 13:25:21
Signing other teams young players for development is a slap in the face to young players at the academy, just read about 25 comments about loyalty but why don't club show some loyalty to the young lads that are already here bursting a gut to get in rather than bring in a 20 year old straight into our team, then any really good prospect in future will think "nah I'll no go to them as I'll get to u20's then they'll bring in a loan for Spain or EPL then I'll be loaned to Cowdenbeath " ( no offence to Cowdenbeath)

That's just my opinion on bringing in young loans though most people may disagreed

22 Mar 2017 10:04:30
saw it on rangers news now, that leeds want martyn waghorn? how much do u think he's worth lads?

22 Mar 2017 10:21:50
Really not sure. 1-2 million. We could get Celtic to negotiate on our behalf and get about 40-50 million plus add ons.

πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΅

22 Mar 2017 10:39:44
Championship side desperate to re establish themselves. Whether he is worth it or not i wouldn't be happy with anything less than Β£3million if Dembele is worth Β£30million

22 Mar 2017 11:21:17
The blue voice

There is no way we would get Β£3m for him. Β£1.5m tops

22 Mar 2017 11:40:51
no reason we couldn't get 3million this is the over priced English championship after all remember. It just depends on how much they want him and if we are willing to hold out for best offer. if Ross McCormack is worth 12million and jorden Rhodes is worth 9million and even mat Richie at 12million waggy would be seen as good business at 3millon to that lot down there.

22 Mar 2017 12:51:40
Deanobear

Difference is the players you mention were all playing in England before the transfers. The clubs that are supposed to be interested in Waghorn will try and get him as cheap as they can as he plays in Scotland

22 Mar 2017 15:34:36
Bengy i'm being ultra positive. They are throwing dosh around like mad men down there. Get as much as we can i say

22 Mar 2017 15:41:51
remember its not a scottish side bidding for him and two clubs are interested according to the papers.
and 3 million is literally nothing to these sides they sign youth players for more than that down there.

plus we should hold england clubs to ransome the way celtic do and get double what he is valued up here after all all the money goes into the english game.

22 Mar 2017 15:48:27
Bengy25 we bought him from an English club!

23 Mar 2017 11:57:00
GDog

Yes we did but I don't see what your point is. They rated him that highly that I think he went for around Β£135k. So why would anyone offer Β£3m for a guy who only scored goals in the 2nd tier of Scottish football and who hasn't scored that many goals in the top tier

22 Mar 2017 06:31:49
I think one lad we should definitely be looking at in the summer is Ally Crawford. We could get him more or less for nothing. Especially if hamilton go down. Also John Mcginn from Hibs. Two of the best young midfielders currently in the Scottish game although, I wouldn't be totally suprised if Mcginn is snapped up by the village people

πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΅.

22 Mar 2017 09:14:44
I don't understand why Crawford has been overlooked by everyone the past few seasons. Really tidy player. Always turns up against us. Makes me think there's something more to it, doesn't train well, bad attitude or something. McGinn can chase himself m. No chance

22 Mar 2017 09:52:34
Why? Because his name is John Mcginn and a Celtic fan or plays for Hibs. He is one of the best young midfielders in our country. I call on anybody here to deny that statement. If we are to get back to the top then we need a proper balance of the best of Scottish and foreign gems. Off hand I cannot think of a better young scottish midfielder currently in our team.

πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΅

22 Mar 2017 10:16:58
Would rather have Kenny McLean than John McGinn. How McGinn gets a Scotland call up baffles me. He is mediocre.

22 Mar 2017 10:25:42
How you can say he is mediocre baffles me. He gets a call up for the reasons I stated earlier. If Mcginn played for us he would be first team regular for sure.

πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΅

22 Mar 2017 10:23:21
Nowhere good enough

22 Mar 2017 10:33:48
Neither are good enough, a lot of hibs fans don't even rate mcginn he look out his depths at that level never mind the spl. He can't pass or shoot, he runs around fouling folk and getting book for his lip. Should never ever be in the Scotland squad.

Cummings and stevie millan would be much better signings.

22 Mar 2017 10:37:43
I would like to hope we will be aiming for better players than that to be honest

22 Mar 2017 10:40:33
Ped we don't want or need anymore Celtic minded players? McGinn over rated and only has one eyebrow. No thanks

22 Mar 2017 10:41:12
Got to agree, i think mcginn is a cart horse.

22 Mar 2017 11:08:58
Well the man who picks our national team thinks different and I agree with him on that one. One eyebrow lol we don't need Celtic minded. I never said we did. I will say we need good players and he is better than anything we have. His eyebrow is inexcusable though fair enough. No to John McGinn. NEXT.

πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΅

22 Mar 2017 11:22:20
I work with John's sister and got her to ask him if he would come to Rangers. He said not a chance. I do like him as a player and think he can have a bright future in the Scotland squad but he needs to move away from Hibs imo and his attitude towards that question will hold him back in his career and shows a lack of ambition. Can't see celtic going for him so if he wanted to move up a level rangers would be his best option and yet he has no interest. Off down south to be lost in the wilderness of mediocrity of the English football it is then!

22 Mar 2017 12:33:30
Ped you're right, it's mostly because he plays for Hibs and supports Celtic. There's better out there and we don't need to stoop to that IMO. Maybe I'm being petty. I'm one of the few who still holds a grudge against KM. I know I'll prob get slated but sorry I can't help it.

Regarding Ali Crawford, he's definitely good enough. I've been watching him closely for a few years and with a higher quality player around him, he'd be class for us. Just look at Armstrong for them.

22 Mar 2017 14:12:14
McGinn would be our best midfielder but he would never play for us, and that's coming from his dad. He hates Rangers and if he is good enough for us then he is good enough to go somewhere else which he will eventually do.

Crawford is the opposite. I don't know him or anything like that, not even a bit. But I know he's a rangers man and desperate to play for us. Low price, low risk, possible high return. Good enough to be like Naisy.

22 Mar 2017 14:51:01
Spoc mcginn, ask your sonif he has any spare tickets for upcoming games please

22 Mar 2017 15:44:05
well isn't that funny people make out that we are terrible after making the step up and call our players championship quality because they played well down there and those same people are saying we should sign mcginn who isn't even lighting it up in that devision?

22 Mar 2017 15:53:43
He is no good, that's why he's still at hibs. Chesney only gives him Scotland call ups because of his grandfather. He looks poor in the championship, he's not even as good as Halliday.

22 Mar 2017 16:02:27
As I said before, Warburton's legacy seems to be that the fans will now accept mediocrity as the norm. I'm sure both of these average journeymen will be somewhere near the very bottom of PC's list of potential transfers if they make it there at all.
