Hardie scores again today against Hibs. The boy is a natural finisher.

22 Dec 2018 23:11:46
Here's one for you bears. If you could bring one ex player back to play in present team who would you pick. I would pick Alex macdonald .

23 Dec 2018 00:08:54
Wee Durrant before his cruciate ligament injury.

23 Dec 2018 01:07:08
Laudrup.

23 Dec 2018 01:09:09
Jeeze that is a question and a half! From my lifetime it would have to be Gazza, I idolised the man, however Laudrup, Albertz, Gio van Bronckhorst, Mols, Barry Ferguson all merit a mention, I’m sure I’ve forgot a load more! Would say McGregor is the only one of our current team who can be mentioned in the same breath as these legends.

23 Dec 2018 06:24:40
Albertz in this team.

23 Dec 2018 06:25:27
Davie Cooper. genius.

23 Dec 2018 07:35:34
Great poser of a question but i would have 2,as there's many great players played for us. I would choose the geordie genius paul gascoigne and the left footed absolute wizard of a winger, the late, great, davie 'super' cooper!

23 Dec 2018 08:14:31
Laudrup would absolutely have run riot among the current crop of defenders.

23 Dec 2018 08:51:49
Have a agree with coolatballet Wee Durrant was something else. If you've not seen the clips on you tube it's a must watch even the Bruce springstein music with it is awesome. Rangers meant the world to him.

23 Dec 2018 09:50:10
I would normally always say Davie Cooper as he was my hero growing up but the type of player we need in the team at the moment would be Gascoigne.

23 Dec 2018 09:52:05
Gazza or Laudrup.

23 Dec 2018 10:05:19
Scotty, don't know your age but I grew up watching Cooper. I'll get pelters for this but don't care. Davie Cooper played one good game in ten. The rest he went missing. Maybe because he played in an average side surrounded by Smith and DJ. Don't know. Once saw him destroy Killie on his own. Gers winning 8-1.This however was one of his few triumphs. I prefer to remember him as he really was and not a god. Maybe because his demise people constantly treat him like he was Rangers great.

23 Dec 2018 10:39:19
Gregor Stevens!

23 Dec 2018 10:39:42
I'd have Mark Walters in the team.

23 Dec 2018 10:44:38
Withe chances we are creating how about old golden bollox himself
Superally@.

23 Dec 2018 10:57:38
Big Mark Hateley for me.

23 Dec 2018 11:38:22
Jim Denny or Billy Urquart.

23 Dec 2018 11:44:38
John Bomber Brown and wee Stuart McCall.

23 Dec 2018 11:58:30
Trevor Stevens or ronald be boar.

23 Dec 2018 12:04:50
Difficult question as we had so many oustanding players:
Defence Butcher
Midfield: Gazza
Forward: Laudrup
Striker : Hateley

What a selection dilemma 😀😀😀😀.

23 Dec 2018 19:52:38
Davie Cooper for me👍.

23 Dec 2018 19:58:57
Well we need goals so the Moody Blue. Marco Negri.

22 Dec 2018 16:56:54
Can anyone tell me why bbc sportscene is gringeworthy and so so amateur? .
They actually believe they are the bees knees, some of my colleagues think it's a comedy show.

22 Dec 2018 19:08:23
It's presenter and it's pundits don't help.

23 Dec 2018 08:15:29
A joke show. Haven't watched it for at least a year.

22 Dec 2018 16:13:27
As much as I like Steven Davis and he may well improve our current squad if he comes it is a concern that he will be 34,i don't think he will be the player he once was and although he might enhance our team for short term fans might expect too much. I'd also point out Stuart Armstrong gets a game every week at Southampton where Davis struggles to get seat on bench! Davis surley was a better player than Armstrong but seems he's deemed not to be now. so if you gauge it on that would we want Davis back?

22 Dec 2018 17:36:55
Armstrong a terrific player so wouldn't read much into that. I'd take Davis on a loan till end of season, longer term we've got to have younger targets in mind.

22 Dec 2018 17:56:47
Of course, i'd most certainly want steven davis, back at rangers. He'd absolutely coast it up here, in the spfl premiership, even at 34 years old. He's a must signing in january for us, IMO. He's still a cracking midfielder!

22 Dec 2018 23:43:09
Supercooper,

Not so sure he would coast it and tbh you seem to think he is some sort of super player. He is a decent player but we need more than him in midfield to mount a challenge.

22 Dec 2018 23:57:11
I've been going to games (season ticket holder) since 1989, I know that's nothing compared to some of you. Davis is my favourite player we have had in that time. I'd love him back, I'd cry if he proved over the top here. OK maybe cry is a bit much but I'd love him back as he was.

23 Dec 2018 01:47:12
Disagree supercooper what I’ve seen of him last season he looked class think still got a few good seasons still got legs would help midfield and bring on some young boys.

23 Dec 2018 10:01:49
davis is a better midfielder than any we have at the minute simple as that arguement over.

23 Dec 2018 10:47:43
He is only 6 months older than Broon.

22 Dec 2018 14:25:35
Afternoon bears, on the topic of the players we need or missing piece of the jigsaw for our 1st 11. An attacking midfielders/ deep playing front man that can ghost into positions, play between the lines, pick a lock and pick up at least 10 to 15 goals a season.

I would say Ovie was supposed to be that man however for whatever reason it didn't work out. These types of players are obviously very expensive. Hazard one of the best at the mo. Nobody in Scotland fits that bill to do it at a high level, game in game out. Arfield is 60% at a push of what we need. he's got the brain / legs for it but not the technical ability to do it consistently. (last min chance v Villarreal springs to mind) Niko was that player but we got him 10 years to late.

We ain't going to get somebody in their prime so a youngster or somebody with 2 years left in the legs is our shop window. Davis, will he get the goals? I just wonder if we are looking at any of the players we've faced in Europe, we couldn't get the ball off Marcos Tavares from Maribor he's 34, his legs look gone but wouldn't be surprised if we went for somebody from such a team.

I would send my team to the Baltics and scour the place for the next Modrich. Come on Hearts and Dundee, no wait come on Aberdeen just to see Avril Levien greeting and moaning, LOL seriously though come on Hearts.

22 Dec 2018 16:06:27
Shouldnt we scour Croatia for the next Modric? 🤔.

22 Dec 2018 18:02:59
There is more people in London that Crotia and Scotland. Why don’t we have a youth team in London?

22 Dec 2018 23:13:23
Intelligent post, and food for thought, and indeed a conundrum, let's hope we find the answer, c'mon the Gers.

22 Dec 2018 23:51:33
Parky, I stand corrected, thought Croatia was in the Baltic region. Croatia is actually in the Balkans, hopefully you get the jist. These countries are a bit like Scotland 50 years ago, with poverty and low pay the youngsters are out and about kicking whatever kudger or floater football they can get. Till mum or dad shouts them in at 10. Wonder if they have the van over there and 10 cent mixtures. I remember the time my dad throwing a 10p out the 3rd floor window at half 9. The days, anyone for a game of Kirby or shall we just make a massive crossbow out of the washing line and pegs.

22 Dec 2018 23:53:24
LDM, its the playing population that matters. To get a real gem ie 1 in 5 million palyer you need a massive playing population so you have a real chance of getting a gem. Even if one is out there they have to be picked up at each level to make it to senior level. that's why Scotland had an abundance back in the day and why the likes of Brazil can choose 5 first teams. Going back to London with 10 million population sad to say but your more likely to get a world champion knife thrower than the next Messi.

PS when I talk about a gem I mean a real gem eg. Messi, the real Ronaldo, Dalgliesh, Cooper, Shearer, Toti, Rudd, Baxter, Zidane, the Laudrup brothers etc etc not the mediocre were are led to believe are fantastic ie most of the English Premiership. We are losing sight of what a world class player is IMO.

Question, when was the last time Scotland produced a world class player. Alan Macgregor.

23 Dec 2018 00:20:06
Tjbb i think andy robertson is or will be the next world class player to come of scotland.

23 Dec 2018 19:51:40
Sangil, very good player but he has to sustain this level of performance over a number of season at the top of a league or winning trophies to be called world class. Right now he's won nothing and never been to a final euro/ world competition with his country. At the mo, just very very good. imo.

22 Dec 2018 10:28:28
Hi guys! i'm currently on my holibags but was just thinking. those refs give the gers heehaw! The hibs game that we chav should have saw red and it was a stonewall pen!

22 Dec 2018 09:10:54
Fellow bears is there anyone we should target in the transfer window who is currently playing in Scotland? I'm struggling to think of one who would be better than what we have that we could sign?

22 Dec 2018 10:46:01
Shankland.

22 Dec 2018 11:05:23
Harry Cochrane = Rangers supports start buying the best Scottish weans.
+ fergie from Aberdeen.

22 Dec 2018 11:13:16
Kenny Miller.

22 Dec 2018 11:32:07
For me, we have to sign players who improve the starting 11 now on, 2 players of that nature every window and we will continue to improve. None of the above do that however Shankland on a pre contract would be fine.

22 Dec 2018 11:57:48
Shankland must be high on the list - young talented scottish forward -.

22 Dec 2018 14:09:16
Shankland is a 23 year old Aberdeen reject who is doing quite well at his level. There's nothing else there. wee_bear is right - we need to now be signing players who will improve the first team and Shankland is nowhere near that. Neither is Ferguson or Cochrane.

22 Dec 2018 15:37:37
A problem we had a while ago was not buying the top scottish players when they were kids and ending up paying over the top prices for them when they had grown up. A q or 2 young scottish players per window i think would be a good idea.
