22 Dec 2017 23:25:49
Well a decision has been made! I'd have preferred a top notch proven manager (who would have likely cost us a lot ) Murty has shown nothing but sense though, guy can pick a formation, knows how to speak to the media, has genuine faith and genuinely comes across good, so grumble away fellow bears he has 6 months approx to make a mark . I wish him the best of luck.

22 Dec 2017 21:41:23
Ive been described as negative by my closest friends I see myself as a realist .

Murty done well however cheap option. Serious lack of ambition from that board

King been told to fork out 11 million very worrying for me I fear the worst may still be coming.

Only positive I can take from today is we have given Declan John a three and a half year deal and that's only a positive becuase we are signing a player.

I think we are in trouble yet again.

22 Dec 2017 22:02:00
Whether regarded cheap option or not another bear, this could end up a masterstroke, we just don't know! Graeme murty is a good coach who is suited to working with a DOF! We've all seen youth coach to actual first team manager, working out superbly well before! let's all get right behind murts and the team and see where it takes us!

22 Dec 2017 22:10:28
King has to offer to buy shares at 20p per share they are trading at 27p per share he hasn't to shell out £11mill he will have to prove he has that but who will accept that very few I certainly won't so it's a stupid legal ruling which has to be sorted out within 30 days as for Murty it's a cheap option for me what has he done in hi s two spells as manager we have had some horrendous results over two months to get a manager in and it's the guy who was there from day one it's a circus

22 Dec 2017 22:18:16
Super I hope to Christ I'm wrong.

The fact is there is no money that is why I think Mcinnes who also reeked of mediocrity for me turned down the job my biggest concern is not Murty getting the job is King being taken to the cleaners

I said Declan John signing was a positive purely for the fact that we are bring a player in which hopefully tells me there is a bit of future stability hope .

22 Dec 2017 22:11:15
Right let's get the share thing out the way . King has to offer to buy the shares for 20p, the shares at the moment are sitting at 27p so who in the right mind would sell their shares? He doesn't have to fork out £11mill for anything he only has to fork out the money for the shares that people want to sell!

22 Dec 2017 23:33:18
Blackwoodbear he has to prove he has 11 million

22 Dec 2017 23:39:37
People keep saying no one will accept 20p for there shares but rite now the shares are not trading on the stock exchange so some people mite want cash in espically the ones that got them for 1p

23 Dec 2017 08:35:30
Guys read the judges ruling, Mr. King has control of 2 trusts, already associated with Rangers, both have more than £11 mil. So he does not have to prove anything just make the offer.

23 Dec 2017 10:51:02
So the maximum King has to spend on this share thing is 11 million, the minimum is zero. The actual figure will lie somewhere in between. Yawn. Hopefully Murty does well. Wish him all the best. Mon the gers

22 Dec 2017 21:28:02
I'd like to wish all my fellow rangers supporters a very merry Christmas and a very happy new year. I'd also like to send my best to GM and the team for a better festive period and following into the new year. I do apologise for my lack of posts, but as mentioned before my recent health has impacted on this. Nonetheless, I always have and will continue to follow on. Merry Christmas to you all. Have a great one.

22 Dec 2017 22:05:08
The same to you and your kin, treefinger! All the very best pal! To all bears and their loved ones, hope you all and your families have a fantastic festive season!

22 Dec 2017 22:26:55
Merry Christmas lads

22 Dec 2017 22:39:15
@Supercoopeleven. Thank you sir. May you and yours have the best this year.

22 Dec 2017 20:22:48
I think Murty is a great choice and will do well. We have an average bunch of players we should be used to that by know having had squads of average players for the past 5 years. There isn't money available to compete with English clubs and clubs competing in europe. He knows the club, the players, the structure, knows the youth players, bringing them through is part of our phylosophy. He can now fully concentrate on the task at hand - maybe bring in a few coaches to help with things and a few shrewd signings in January would be great. We have been patient thus far slowly but surely we will be great again. Get right behind the team and the manager!

22 Dec 2017 22:07:04
Here here RfcChris! let's support murts and the team, to the hilt!

22 Dec 2017 20:08:50
Today's been an eventful day for the gers fans firstly signing Declan John who's a good young talent and has done a good job while lee Wallace has been out injured second appointing murty now it may not be what most fans wanted but if it saves us some cash till the end of the season then why not

22 Dec 2017 19:23:29
How fickle are the fans! Three 'owners' pillaged and plundered the club, a fan ( as dodgy as he appears on the surface) brought some stability with a few Rangers men around him. Things ain't always worked out but least trying something different. Wilkins. Butcher. the game has moved on just a wee bit! The manager doesn't need to be anything resembling a Rangers man he needs to know the Scottish football environment adapt their style and get the best outta cheaper options ( look at many examples in the English Championship) .
All this reflection about the old days. gone for the moment. forward is out front. ( oh aye Cashley. being from Newcastle way the boy is poison sells cheap rubbish quick)

22 Dec 2017 18:39:05
I honestly think there is going to be new ownership in the summer

22 Dec 2017 20:56:59
Fingers crossed. I think investment is much more likely without King at the helm.

22 Dec 2017 17:34:43
Was really chuffed that Murty was appointed, watched the press conferences etc and felt really positive about our future, until that is I came on here. I can't believe some of the negativity. Most of the fans love him, the squad love him, the press love him, the board love him. What exactly is there to lose with Murty in Charge, nothing, is the answer - we can only gain from this. I've lost my £50 bet on Proud Homme but i'm gracious in defeat and want Murty to become our next legend.
Merry Christmas Bears.

22 Dec 2017 18:36:06
fans can appreciate Murty whilst having the opinion he isn't the right option longer term. i'm just being honest and up front, once we drop more points with mediocre performances wait and see how many agree then

22 Dec 2017 19:55:58
Totally agree TJBB, everyone is different but the sentiment on here today regarding Murty would be exactly how I would have felt if McInnes had been appointed. My feeling all along has been that unless there was an OUTSTANDING candidate available then Murty should stay as caretaker.

Whether we can afford this type of manager or whether we can even attract this type is not relevant now. Murty has the the job and we must unite behind him, even his biggest critic could not fault the man on his dedication.

I certainly believe that GM can lead us to a strong second and was encouraged by the stories running tonight regarding the DoF Mark Allen and possible signings that Murty had rubber stamped following scouting etc. We might be lucky and have found a real gem in Murty, he has shown enough for me to at least deserve this shot and until we are shopping for players of a higher calibre then there will be bumps in the road. GM has been playing with the cards he has been dealt with twice now (with one hand tied behind his back both times) and has never had the the luxury of a transfer window to change things or job certainly either so let’s see how he does with both!

We are 2nd, not too far off the top, we have a Manager, a united squad (I think) and a tough task, but we can do it, we are Rangers, Super Rangers!

22 Dec 2017 20:11:38
Murty definitely deserves our support, as honest as the day is long. However wee bear FYI we are third. No better off than when Pedro was here.

22 Dec 2017 23:12:43
Apologies mate, was aware we were third but we’ll be 2nd come the 30th mate!

22 Dec 2017 23:21:46
Like most people I hope GM does well. good luck to the man. but. people on here slating Derek McInnes etc and GM has lost to Hamilton Dundee and St Johnstone. And we are happy! . What happened to GVB, Frank de boer, Pulis? If we get pumped at Legoland on the 30th u will aw be on here giving him pelters. Aw this time to appoint the under 20's coach. genius

22 Dec 2017 17:22:11
Well, well not expecting Murty till the end of the season but it makes sense in some ways. Maybe the manager we want isn't available till then. Still we have the same clowns on here we have no money oops we spend 5mil on players, a year on we have no money oops we find 10 mil for players and 3 mill to get rid of Ashley. I don't see any of you apologising when you are REPEATEDLY proved wrong.

I'm not suggesting we have the Kuwait royal family or similar but they are spending and will again this year. We are so far in advance of where we were when this board took over.

Yes granted Cax was a big mistake but just look of the at the number of managers sacked by other so called top clubs. As long as we keep improving I for one am happy.

22 Dec 2017 18:33:40
i love your optimism if you think this board are thinking ahead to the summer. lucky if they know what is happening next week! what happened to this 'list' we had compiled when chasing DMc? never bloody existed and they are taking the piss

22 Dec 2017 18:42:15
So you're happy it's took 2 months to appoint murty and are happy with the boards statement after the mcInnes debacle and you think we haven't appointed a manager because he's not available it's more like we are skint and are a complete shambles at boardroom level, yes we have invested money in players in the summer which again has went pear shaped because we gave it to another untried manager in Pedro, its looking like we have put all our eggs in 1 basket and it's went t*ts up again, we are a joke of a club again, you'd be struggling to find a club on the planet that's fans have been put through what we have in the past 6 years

22 Dec 2017 20:58:47
Shambles of a board, that's the bottom line. they don't know what there doing from 1 week to the next

22 Dec 2017 17:21:51
Murty really taken that board 2 months to pick someone already there cheap option small increase wage rise Dave king found guilty in court again coasting 11million quid said he's skint i right ill no be back after nearly 20 years celtic will pump us lucky to finish 4 enough is enough.

22 Dec 2017 17:33:05
it's not costing 11 million. he has to make an offer for all shares which if all offer are accepted would totally 11 million. a large. chuck of those shares ar3 already held by fans. plus the fact he's to offer 20p a share when the shares are currently at 27p. calm down calm down

22 Dec 2017 19:12:23
Big blue bear. LS is correct! I just wish people would try and understand situations and subjects before just spouting negativity! A lot of supporters sadly thrive on trying to find negativity in every subject!

22 Dec 2017 19:14:25
Agree with LS who is going to sell shares to DK for 20p when they can get 27p on the market? Poor stuff from Dave King though in not following the rules and does us no favours at all with the bad publicity around it. We need to support Murty as manager and get a hard taskmaster in as coach to help him out.

22 Dec 2017 16:53:46
Can we now all see Dave king for what he really is! I called him a charleton last week and that's doing him a favour, he's now blatantly taking us for granted, surprise surprise after the court ruling Murty is confirmed till the end of the season, king is obviously skint and has gone for the cheap option yet again, lads be aware be very aware ASHLEY hasn't gone away by a long shot!

22 Dec 2017 18:00:37
He’s done more than Ashley would ever have done Ashley is the charlatan anybody with blue blood will not except that conman it was him behind the scenes with green and co who was pulling strings really p—-d off hearing about him I bet there will be a few signings come January . so away you go with your Ashley don’t want to sell our soul to devil

22 Dec 2017 19:14:59
Stewartyg65, please believe me, ASHLEY is the only option, were skint, and you say king has done more! Really! All he has done is make mistake after mistake, remember Ashley took him for 3m just to end a deal!

22 Dec 2017 19:21:56
billy blue you have taken paranoia to a new level, you are getting as bad as the mhanky mob

22 Dec 2017 20:01:34
F. k Ashley rather carry on mate with board than have fat man anything to do with us everything comes at a price from him he’s not the only option

22 dec 2017 16:26:26
all those wanting ashley to invest, god have yous no brains. personally if ashley comes back. i will not set foot in ibrox again.

22 Dec 2017 17:17:02
You will if he invested in the team and we started to challenge the manky mob and winning things again

22 Dec 2017 18:16:44
No way will I also ever step foot back in ibrox If the fat man gains control and I probably speak for a lot of bears out there this is not a road we want to go down. time for the so called supporters groups now to buy up all the 11 millions pound worth of shares between them.

22 Dec 2017 16:11:02
Serious question for everyone complaining about the Murty appointment - what are your expectations? I really think he'll get us to second place above the sh&&p. What more can we expect?

22 Dec 2017 18:28:39
honesty and transparency from the board, not treating us like children with their comments, not taking six weeks to decide the guy that was there all along was the way forward. want me to go on?

22 Dec 2017 19:17:04
Snell the board and murty should be kept separate in our supporters opinions! The board undoubtedly don't come out of this smelling of roses but murty deserves our complete backing and a chance!

22 Dec 2017 21:05:58
im not disagreeing with you coop mate. my wrath is aimed firmly at the board. i appreciate Murty for doing the best job he can.

22 Dec 2017 15:53:31
In my opinion it’s good to see rangers have made the right LOGICAL decision because graham deserves a decent go at it and it’ll also help the players settle known what’s happening so well done the board

22 Dec 2017 15:34:20
I said a couple of weeks ago, the right man has to feel comfortable with DOF and that we should give it to Murty just now. At the moment, the system for the future is now in place. Only 8 Points behind Celtic. Now we know, let's see how the signings if any go.

22 Dec 2017 14:34:00
I can understand people's frustration at not announcing a new manager after all this time but I honestly believe Murty could do a better job now that the doubt and uncertainty has been lifted surrounding the whole enviroment. He will have the final say on transfers and I have faith that he will do better than the two previous managers in the market (anyone would I guess) . The players wanted him in or at least most of them claimed they did. He has shown more tactical awareness than the previous managers recently. Conducts himself very well. So I'm kind of stuck here thinking, why the massive sense of disappointment for everyone? The fact that Declan John signs a contract straight away shows that he is happy to play for murty.

22 Dec 2017 13:47:01
If nothing else it stops this incessant list of names being bandied about for a few months I hope for the lad's sake he does well because if we fall off the pace badly then where do we go? Do we sack Murty or demote him back to under 20s?

The players need to stand up I'm sick of this copy and paste every week of how it's not good enough we let so and so down blah blah just go out and do your job.

As fans I think we need to give windass a break, the boys not as bad as a few on this forum suggest imagine the fuel that gives to opposition when we're booing our own.

lastly a happy Xmas to all posters on this site. May next year bring us the success we crave 👍👍.

22 Dec 2017 16:15:41
From your own club
"Dear gullible bears, just ignore that Takeover Panel thingy, look here is some GOOD NEWS, Murty is your new manager, remember do NOT read anything else" lol

22 Dec 2017 16:52:09
All the very best to Murty and I hope he can galvanise the team and secures second place. I would love it if we can finish second this season above the sheep and Hibs.

I have to say I am gutted the best we could do for our managers post was our under 20s coach. The BIG mistake made by the board was Pedro. I am left a bit confused by the whole thing. Can we not attract a good coach, do we not have the money? Are the board waiting to clear up DK shares mess? Are we waiting to see how much money a rights issue generates?

I’m not expecting much in January. It would be good to get a few players in. There seems to be a real reluctance by any Scottish club to do business with us and prices down south are ridiculous. First big test coming up for the DOF.

Oh well Bears. Onwards and upwards. 3 points tomorrow would de a great tonic. Merry Christmas everyone and all the best.

Baz

22 Dec 2017 17:08:12
No matter what your thoughts are on Murty getting job every gers fan will have to get behind the man. He comes across as a decent guy and I wish him all the best. Like to wish everybody a merry Xmas.

24 Dec 2017 14:25:32
Give murty a chance to get players and then judge.

22 Dec 2017 13:25:01
is Billy2pies going to give us a Christmas story? last ones were brilliant.

22 Dec 2017 13:26:12
GM till end of season is wiser, in my opinion, given our obvious financial plight than papping the likes of Mcliesh in the big chair. Obviously I would have loved a big hitter but we can't afford one. DJ sining is a positive move, and if the board can raise cash for next season, mibbie the "big hitter" can buy some quality players. Let's see what GM can do.

22 Dec 2017 14:29:36
Board and Cash? We are Skint Need someone big time to invest

22 Dec 2017 13:13:37
Just heard it's murty in till end of season, which is probally a good thing for the squad! However I do think this is only because they lost takeover court case and have to shell out 11 million! We probally won't be getting any new faces of note during the transfer window might have a couple of loans returning, I really hope murty is successful but the best we will probally finish is 3rd!

22 Dec 2017 23:12:10
@cdr - king only has to shell out £11 million if everyone agrees to sell which I can’t see happening at 20p a share.

24 Dec 2017 14:27:35
The 11mil won't be accepted, the shares are worth a lot more. Its just a formality.

24 Dec 2017 15:30:26
You obviously haven't a clue about the court case, nobody has to pay anything

22 Dec 2017 12:58:55
Wow, didn't expect that. Okay at least the mystery and uncertainty of who's taking over as manager is gone, kinda feel we'd all be happier if GM was given the job until the end of the season right after we pumped Aberdeen and just before McInnes Knocked us back.

Surely now the players and Murty can focus on the games, without all the drama behind the scenesm, as these next 3 upcoming games would be tough enough without all that sh*te going on, but it will be a perfect time for the players to show the fans what they are really made of because now there can be no excuses around the uncertainty of who is in charge. Who knows, we'll get an idea after the Killie game tho. I just hope as always the fans get right behind Murty.

22 Dec 2017 16:19:38
Agreed, we now know where we stand now and have better chance of recruiting players in January. The board obviously felt their was no one suitable. Time to get behind the team and get on with it, we have come a long way in the last 5 years, back in the top flight and fighting at the top end of the table. C'mon the Gers!

22 Dec 2017 12:56:53
Would like to see ray wilkins back at the club coaching

22 dec 2017 15:02:11
we would be lucky getting delbert wilkins

22 Dec 2017 12:27:41
Sack the board now good luck getting season ticket money for next season ya clowns honestly get Dave king out now and take the rest of these incompetent idiots way you now your just as bad as chic green ya clown

22 Dec 2017 13:25:57
We are skint and the Board didn't even have a plan B despite lying to us by saying they had a list of candidates. led up the garden path again

22 Dec 2017 13:44:19
Everyone stood up and walked out with you there.

22 Dec 2017 15:06:02
Can’t believe people on here have you all got the blinkers on Dave king is a con man a former player also who I met kept on saying where’s Dave kings money not got 2 bob to rub the gether and he was right today’s news also saying e is penniless is laughable

24 Dec 2017 15:31:47
Southside
How do you sack a board?
You going to buy the shares?

22 Dec 2017 12:15:20
Murty confirmed to end of season.

22 Dec 2017 12:28:01
Shocking inept board man

22 Dec 2017 12:41:58
who would you have put in charge southside? i think murty was the best choice, otherwise we would have some helmet nobody like mcleish or davies

22 Dec 2017 12:51:04
Pulis or de boer

Just goes to show they have no money to do anything another failed season finishing 3rd again this is not acceptable at a club of our stature honestly king needs to sell to someone ASAP

24 Dec 2017 14:28:47
Get real southside.

22 Dec 2017 08:44:32
According to the Scotsman today, Wigan have offered £300k to Hearts for Walker. I thought we had much more than that knocked back? Emphasises my point about other SPL clubs trying to rip us off.

22 Dec 2017 09:08:01
It’s more likely to do with the fact it’s the January transfer window and it’s Hearts last chance to get money for him. All clubs will ask for more money in the summer than in the January transfer window when the player is in the final year of his contract

22 Dec 2017 13:21:49
It could also be that because Scottish football is so crap just now, that players don’t see a future in Scottish football.

22 Dec 2017 08:41:09
As money is clearly tight, why don't we bring back O'Halloran and Forrester from loan and try and sign Hyndman. That will immediately give us cover for Dorrans (and Jack when he gets another red card lol) . I don't see the point in trying to sign players from other SPL teams as they will just try and rip us off. Also, I hope we continue to blood the kids and play McCrorie, Bates, Barjonas, Wilson and yes, that old chestnut HARDIE! Merry Christmas Bears!

22 Dec 2017 11:42:05
I agree Doiger. I'd have both MOH and Forrester (I think he could be very good under the right manager) back and if we could sign Hyndman I think that would be good business.

22 Dec 2017 13:03:32
Id have MOH and Forrester back even though I still can't forgive Forrester for not passing in the Old Firm game. lol. were paying most of their wages anyway, might as well have them in squad.

22 Dec 2017 01:09:07
Been coming on here for a while now, decided to post some of my frustrated thoughts.

I never wanted DM as i thought it would be like going with your mates X after we snubbed him for pedro. I want Alex Neil or Jack ross, trying to be realistic, GVB is never coming back.

Player wise we need to stop blowing hot air up windyass, look what happened after murty gave him some, if your winger won't take people on what's the point, he ain't a no 10. rubbish list is too long to type. I think hyndman would sort out the midfield.

The mighty killie this weekend, and bruno alves giving team talks haha

22 Dec 2017 10:36:21
Its bad. don't have confidence in the squad to get results against any team. Its a great feeling when we do win mind you. I think jack ross would be a good shout and a realistic choice. Windass is a very frustrating player all the potential but blows hot or cold. Hyndmann hasn't played all season for them so maybe a loan deal seems like a waste of a good wee player. Alves, candeas, pena are all working their ticket out of ibrox. Instead we should bring in the young boys - give hardie a chance.

22 Dec 2017 12:16:55
I see a few guys on here mentioned Ryan Hardie given, our lack of funds for new recruits I'd have thought if anyone knew this guy it would be Murty so There must be an issue whether it's attitude or ability at a higher level that is stopping him from being involved as murty has proven he's not afraid to include the youngsters in his squads and starting 11 so you have to wonder what the story is with Hardie is BTW I like what I've seen of his limited game time
