I know I keep banging on about him but how good was Ryan Jack again tonight? Reminds me so much of wee Barry as he bossed the midfield. A quality footballer who just keeps getting better and better. Easily the MOTM tonight.

All three centre midfielders i felt were good against legia warsaw last night mate. I totally agree with you that ryan jack has improved so much since gerrard came in and is now one of the first names in our starting 11.He's blossomed into a cracking,
complete midfielder. But my man of the match last night was steven davis. Everything good we do comes through davo. He's our playmaker and pull the strings for us in the anchor, midfield role. He's the puppet master. You can see davo's class and the high level he's played at throughout his wonderful career! I say all the time, he's that good that you couldn't get the ball off him, in a phone box. Never panics or gets flustered when the ball arrives to him in tight areas, with opposition players all around him.

I’m eating humble pie here, especially towards you Coop because I have you (and others) a bit of a hard time regarding Steve Davis. I said he was to old, not the same player etc etc.
Well, I was wrong and if anything the older he has become the better football he has become due to using his brain more and letting the other guys (Jack, Arfield) do the running.
Last night Ryan Jack was sensational, 100% the next captain! He does all the leg work, all the donkey running and gives the ball to the better players! For me. the best sitting midfielder in Scotland! Streets ahead of Scott Brown who has been excellent for them over the years.

Think the midfield is settled now as much as i like Kamara he's not quite same level as the rest. Ver very decent sub/ back up to come on. or step in if injuries etc.

Going on 75 mins I'm shooting at the TV bring on Jones for Ojo why didn't Gerrard make changes I get it you can't change central midfielders cause the pace of the match is hard to adjust but we missed flair the last 10 mins Ojo was getting tired the last 10 mins .

I agree, I noticed ojo tiring and JJ in sooner might have helped, it’s a good result though and one I’m sure Gerrard would have took before kick off.

Snell he is right tho. ojo was struggling last quarter. This is 1 of gerrards biggest flaws not making changes earlier. Cost us dearly last season.

Apart from the rapid vienna game and the Spartak Moscow game we haven’t been beaten in Europe under stevie snell! Lots of positives to take from that game though, big week next week.

Thought it was a decent result last night. Again I agree with the above comments. Why is SG making changes so late? Come one 85 mins? The game was crying out for JJ. Ojo was done. This guy has been tremendous so far but Stevie uses him sparingly. Thought LW were a good side but we made them look better.

I wondered the same lads but Tom on RTV said that it was probably because you had to hit the ground running in this sort of game, no time to get up to speed as it were. Therefore, SG didn't make the changes because he didn't want to upset the rhythm of the match and he trusted the players on the pitch to get the job done, which to be fair to him, they did.

Ojo should have been hooked and yes we have been defeated in europe with gerrard in charge. The OP makes a perfectly valid point. I'm not sure if jones would have been better but it was glaringly obvious that ojo had to be hooked. 👍.

Can’t be too critical of Gerrard given the result but I thought fresh legs running at the full back who’d already been booked might have been a decent option for Rangers especially with Jones on the bench. 👍

That was a good performance from the team. Very hard fought game. Frustrating though, the amount of fouls throughout the game. Felt quite stop start. Ibrox will be rocking next week now and I can't wait to be part of it. A tad disappointed not to score but a good result against a very capable side. Got to be happy with the team again. Just don't want to be beaten.

All to play for at ibrox next week fellow bears. I think we'll get through by a couple of goals. I fancy rangers 2-0 next thursday,
although 0-0 isn't a bad score for legia warsaw. Practically everything good we did tonight came through steven davis, who's an absolute gem of a midfielder, even at the tender age of 34 now. He was the best midfielder out there for me tonight. I have to also mention big katic who had a really good game also. As anyone on here knows, i've said the last year and a half, that connor goldson is rangers best centre half, but katic this season so far, has been our best centre half!
Thought the big guy was terrific tonight.
We had some wobbles tonight, especially at the beginning of the second half, but i'm relatively satisfied with our performance,
especially first half and with the result, to take back to ibrox!

How shaky does goldson look on the ball gives me the fear. Katic brilliant. Draw fair result. Should have made changes about 15mins b4 he did. that's 1 of gerrards weaknesses imo. Always leaves it very late to mix it up.

A Fair result, they had a few chances and so did we. I thought Katic has improved a lot this season and is becoming very commanding. It is Goldson who is looking a bit wobbly at times not watching his man.

I'm beginning to get disillusioned with trying to follow Rangers, have SKY sports but they are never on, BT hardly show a single game, Premier Sports are a joke, and now Rangers TV is useless! Is it worth the hassle? Is seems to me that Rangers are not considering their supporters enough.

I’m going to get slaughtered for this I wouldn’t mind missing out on Europe if they stay in. Yes they will get more money than us. But we would then be playing Saturday football and they would play on a Sunday. Every weekend they would be under pressure playing catch-up and could be pivotal in winning 55!
I still hope we progress to the next round but won’t be unhappy if we don’t.

As much as I detest them as much as any rangers fan, I don't want them having the advantage for a while of being fresh for Sat games and us having to play catch up on a Sunday after travelling back from christ knows where. Incidentally, I hear Fraser Forster is returning to them on loan from Southampton, disappointed in this tbh as I would have preferd coming up against Bain or Gordon.

The phrase cutting off your nose to spite your face has never been more relevant. Them being put out of Europe would in no way help our league campaign. It's been said above. Us playing on Thursdays then trying to catch them on a Sunday would catch up with us eventually.

We shouldn't be contemplating them staying in europe enhances our chances of winning the league. We are glasgow rangers and will deal with any eventuality, that comes our way!
So for the 2nd time, i want that mob to be papped out of every competition they're in, simple as that. We will deal with any eventuality and we should be confident under steven gerrard, that we can! No way as a rangers supporter, am i afraid of any eventuality, regarding them!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but have to say selling declan john was a mistake by us.
He was a very attacking minded left back,
who was good at going forward, just similar to the way tav likes to bomb forward, on our right side. I like probably many fellow bears
liked declan john and he was also a tenacious wee player. If we had kept hold of john, we wouldn't have this left back problem we have just now. He would have walked into our left back position, at this moment in time. I really do feel before this transfer window closes, we need to address our left back situation and of course sign a 3rd choice striker, to cover both morelos and defoe.

Don’t really think Declan John is the answer. Since leaving us he only managed 10 games all season for Swansea last year and none so far this season. Yes he was decent going forward but he was suspect defensively and his lack of height was also an issue at set pieces. If he can’t get anywhere near the Swansea first team I’m not sure we should be considering him as the answer to our problems at left back.

Coop I honestly think you are overestimating Declan John and our club has moved up a level from then. I always thought he was reasonably good at going forward with his defensive play questionable especially at the back post. It’s all about opinions I suppose but Max Lowe would be perfect and if would could move on Barisc this could be a goer?

I agree he was good going forward but his defending was woeful at best. The amount of times he got caught out of position was shocking. He also wasn’t very physical and I think that’s what Gerrard was addressing when he first came in the door.

Declan John was a tidy player but we’ve moved on from that standard and no where good enough now. I believe Barasic will settle and prove himself as our left back. See included in Croatia squad again for next month’s internationals and predict he will come good for us.

But who is or has been your favorite unsung hero as they say that has played for Rangers. For me Sergio Porrini guy done his job made it look easy at times but to me didn't get the recognition like big Amouroso or Numan to name 2

hi fellow bears saw the interview with SG pre legia he really does handle idiotic questions really well! when asked does alfredo need psychological help he answered with yes alfredo is a fantastic player!
but to be honest i can't believe that was even asked? seems to me that before most of our matches the press team managers ex celtic players etc are doing there damnedest to upset our team / i know its mind games but from what i can tell its not having an effect this year probably having the opposite? thoughts bears?

You can't believe the question was even asked? A lot of us were asking that question last season. A lot of top teams employ sports psychologists. Obviously not us. Hopefully with a big if he has learned from the errors of his way and we can look forward to finishing games with 11 players. So far so good this season.
