Could Tom Hately becoming to Rangers.

23 Aug 2016 02:32:56
alby1212 He's supposed to be signing for celtic reserves (Hibs) anyway CB's are what we need and quickly.

23 Aug 2016 02:35:36
No chance. Midfielder who is being linked with hibs. We've got more than enough midfielders after the summer signings.

23 Aug 2016 09:55:43
we should've signed him when we went down.

23 Aug 2016 10:29:36
Id rather his da.

22 Aug 2016 21:45:19
Β£25 million for thon Johnny Evans. That EPL has just lost all sense of normality. 3 or 4 in his heyday, tops.

23 Aug 2016 08:07:32
Well John stones isn't better and he went for 50million.

23 Aug 2016 09:56:28
John stones 50 million pounds nearly as bad as David Luiz.

23 Aug 2016 10:43:43
I bet Guardiola turns Stones into one of the best defenders in Europe.

23 Aug 2016 13:18:17
He is really good with ball (perfect for pep) but makes a lot of mistakes. Don't really rate him, but I don't like man city.

22 Aug 2016 20:41:33
Development league game tomorrow against St Mirren, are Crooks and Garner available and eligible to play?

23 Aug 2016 12:00:11
I think garner will be playing against killie this week as he is match fit or so I've heard from my source! lol (ma mates cousins pals uncle that works in the chippy next to pittodrie) . lmao.

22 Aug 2016 19:00:38
Said on here numerous times we badly miss the wee man who links everything from middle to front for us, wee jason holt (the linkman), this wee guy is like a wasp, he's everywhere and just never stops working when fit he'd NEVER be out our starting 11,as far as I'm concerned, the best 65k we've ever spent, hurry back from injury wee man!

22 Aug 2016 19:34:53
W15 I think it will be difficult for holt to get into starting 11. I think the midfield 3 will be rossiter barton kranjcar not saying I agree with the 3 but I really can't see kranjcar and barton not starting when fit. Rossiter is a certain starter and rightly so.

22 Aug 2016 20:07:06
Agree with Hooly I can't see where he gets a start and when Crooks and Windass are fit he could be even further down the pecking order.

22 Aug 2016 20:49:41
I'm with Warburton the fifteenth on this one. I think though Barton, Kranjcar and Rossitor are all class none of them offers what wee Holty offers which is the ability to run in behind and arrive case the ball arrives and invariably scores. I think Holty with Kranjcar and either Barton or Rossitor will speed up the passing and movement and have a better balance. Sometimes putting all your best players in doesn't necessarily make the best team! and that's what we are searching for. But the gaffer will know his best team.

22 Aug 2016 22:14:31
Nah Holt over Kranjcar any day of the week. Double the work rate and all over the park. Kranjcar is a luxury player but would definitely bring him on to make an impact just like he did on Saturday against Motherwell.

22 Aug 2016 22:21:07
Agree w15, I posted a couple of weeks back when nobody was mentioning Wee holty for their best eleven, I couldn't believe it after how brilliant he was last year, like you say our missing link, been plainly obvious how much we miss him in my eyes! Hopefully he is still in first team plans when fit or I'll be scratching my head.

23 Aug 2016 12:05:14
ive always said i'd have him in my starting 11 when fit.

windass I think is similar but we can't just say barton and niko are starters just because their namesake.

holt is a workhorse and aswell as creating a lot he closes down high up the pitch and works hard to get the ball back the boy never stops running.

like I've said a million times barton and niko should be played as teams tire as for me they don't have the pace hunger or energy that the likes of holt and forrester have.

23 Aug 2016 13:19:57
Holt faces same situation as he did a year ago- after promotion his club have signed players for his position and he's going to struggle for game time.

23 Aug 2016 17:46:00
We won't see the same players in the team week in week out and until he is fully match fit I doubt that Krancjar will start games. Certainly, for me, Holt should play well ahead of Halliday. Holt gets through a lot of work and like Alex MacDonald and others he doesn't get the level of respect that he warrants. There are games where we might need to play with an extra midfield player and Holt would be a logical inclusion in these games.

22 Aug 2016 18:44:17
Some of you must be watching complete different games. Slating kenny Miller. Guys scored the winner the last two games. He can only do so much in that formation. Problem is the right 3 in the midfield. You can't have Barton rossiter Halliday. All to similar. And all want that deeper role. One or at a push 2 should start. Ohalloran should start gives us that pace were needing and push forrester into a more central role or start with niko then make that change when he's ran out of steam.

22 Aug 2016 19:23:11
Been a loyal servant to us for years but his 1st, 2nd and 3rd touch are a bit suspect at times. Needs 5 100% chances before he scores one. I've always seen him as a super sub and certainly not a lone striker.

22 Aug 2016 19:40:51
Agree that Halliday should not be in the starting line up but Miller should have had a hat trick against Motherwell and the younger Miller would have. He would also have scored two or three against Hamilton. Miller will always be a good guy to have around but perhaps for the last half hour.

Plenty of options now for midfield and attack so players that aren't 100% in games should be dropped, starting with Mckay and Halliday.

22 Aug 2016 20:37:05
I find myself in total agreement with liam442,although our veteran striker kenny miller is in the twilight of his career the guy STILL scores the important goals in the BIG games for us, miller is a thoroughbred and great example to all our aspiring young players at rangers, he's still as fit as a butcher's dog and has been and still is a great role model and servant to glasgow rangers, he'll also go on to be a good manager/ head coach and will imo become a future glasgow rangers manager.

23 Aug 2016 05:56:05
Hey Warb15 - I do agree, but our profligacy in front of goal is largely down to Kenny. I agree with a few comments on the above in that he should not be starting. I don't agree that Halliday should be dropped, if anyone it should be barton based on current form. Hall has been much more of a threat.

23 Aug 2016 09:01:09
Sorry. Miller has a bad first touch? O'Halloran should start? What games do you guys watch!

Miller creates space, rarely wastes a pass and more over scores important goals. He is by FAR our most intelligent player with regard to movement and link up play. He is hamstrung by a midfield that will not play a telling pass, and in fact, the only three players that seem to see his runs is Kranjcar, Wallace and Wilson. Kenny is rightly the number one CF choice, earned through his ability and his scoring. Dodoo is nowhere near ready to lead the line, Ohalloran I will get onto and Waggy needs the space that playing on the right provides.
Ohalloran puts his head down and charges forward, inevitably losing the ball in the process, then when he does get to the line, has no crossing ability, or when he gets 1-on-1 with the keeper and has an opportunity to square it to his team mate he let's the ball bobble into the keepers arms. He is indecisive and lacks the technique and intelligence to play in this formation. If we were playing against teams that have high defensive lines, he would be great (Lovenkrands) but we aren't and he isn't.

23 Aug 2016 09:59:15
Miller does not create space he drops deep to try and be a playmaker and crowds midfield and then when the ball gets up top there is no one there. he's a liability who needs to start focusing on getting in the box. 2 goals do not make up for his lack of ability and instinct to play upfront. he's a workhorse it's all he's ever been.

23 Aug 2016 12:15:15
sorry cee but do u actually watch Kenny he is always on the move trying to make himself available but the passes don't come so he drops deep to get involved in the play more the guy is a great player for us and a great role model I do agree though that he should be brought on with 20 to 30 mins to go.

unfortunitly for Kenny, garner has signed and will score a barrowload for us which will put him down the pecking order and dodo likes to play on the wing but i'd only play him in the cup games this season and if he doe well then i'd give him a shout in the league.

23 Aug 2016 13:23:21
Miller is best Scottish striker of last 15 years, great pro hence his longevity.

I think his role this season should be super sub rather than starter. Can count on him giving his all either way.

Moh on other hand was a waste of 250k- he can run (so could forest Gump) but has zero end product.

23 Aug 2016 19:33:57
I must admit i'm abit of a miller fan. i agree with everybody in a way that he's been dropping to deep in the last few games but i think that's down to frustration at lack of att mid and also agree he needs a few chances but he has got the winner in the last 2 games. and who wid bet against him getting another against the mhanky mhob in a few weeks?

22 Aug 2016 21:17:10
Millers drive last season was one of the reasons we got over the line. His running pulls defenders out of position and creates space for others.

22 Aug 2016 18:38:04
Fans already giving big niko it. Yeah he's laid back. Entitled to your opinions. We all know he lacks pace but that touch of quality is unquestionable. At the game on Saturday. And he made the difference when he came on without a doubt. Rangers fans are the most unpatient on the planet. Question the guys fight and fire? If you've seen that photo of him at the end when we scored you wouldn't be asking that question. Boy wanted to stay at the end as well to get autographs photos etc with the players. Not many interested to be honest. Halliday. Waghorn. Gilks. Hill McKay. Dodoo. Hodson all had the time for the kids and especially big niko. Signed everything and took every photo with a smile on his face. Barton crawling out the back. Forester tavernier kiernan and foderingham all driving off not interested.

22 Aug 2016 23:00:36
I see Senderos was training today again but I do think Warburton is looking to bring someone else in or we would have him signed up already. I would like warburton to buy a defender as well as take senderos but he said only 4 CB and also on a budget.

23 Aug 2016 12:18:31
for sure the guy has quality and I think u prove my point when I say he should be brought on when teams are getting tired as his quality has more time on the ball which is what he needs and won't get if he starts .
at least do this until he is 100 percent up to speed with the Scottish game.

22 Aug 2016 19:53:39
Did Krancjar ever run about?
I don't recall him doing it but maybe when younger.

22 Aug 2016 17:06:40
Anyone else think Rangers should go into the loan market as they don't have a leader at the back the defence is weak and I don't see Dave splashing the cash.

22 Aug 2016 18:01:48
Who would you like to see on loan?

22 Aug 2016 19:37:16
Roman shishkin age 29 or Tomas sivok age 32 both have international experience as well and are on 15.000 a week wages that isn't massive I found them two players in 10 minutes it makes you wonder what warburton is doing in finding a decent defender . Them two have played in Europe to and there free agents . And yes I'm questioning franks ability to find someone the kranjcar Barton names are decent but the mariappa saga is a joke I doubt Rangers will find a good defender and that could be the difference between a title and finishing 2 nd or 3rd at worst.

22 Aug 2016 19:41:44
We should try and get Jones from Man U on loan for the eason. Would be perfect at centre back.

22 Aug 2016 20:42:37
Cracking shout tom42,phil jones IF we could get him would be an excellent season long loan signing.

22 Aug 2016 22:31:08
matt miazga.

23 Aug 2016 13:24:44
Phil Jones πŸ˜†πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

Never going to happen.

22 Aug 2016 17:05:02
Niko kranjcar training this morning with a coat on the rest of the team in t shirts no wonder he's injury prone doesn't seem to work hard enough.

22 Aug 2016 18:03:29
Or he's trying to shed weight in an attempt to get fit?

22 Aug 2016 18:08:34
He will be sweating to get fitter as every athlete does take it you didn't play football.

22 Aug 2016 19:21:03
Take it the bin bag doesn't get used for training anymore.

23 Aug 2016 12:37:25
lmao the old bin bag trick.
well I don't think its because its cold I think it will be to lose some weight.

23 Aug 2016 19:35:59
U do no a bin bag doesn't make u lose weoght right?

22 Aug 2016 14:38:27
No Wallace in Scotland squad! What a joke.

22 Aug 2016 15:39:09
Why is it a joke?

Strachan has picked Robertson and Tierney both of whom are better than Wallace.

22 Aug 2016 16:00:42
You can say maybe defencely but not in att. We should be playing to attack the game!

22 Aug 2016 16:44:34
Robertson is streets ahead of Tierney and Wallace. No offence fellow bears but if we are to build for the future then Wallace has little place, although Strachan has picked Greer which is a joke and totally contradicts this.

22 Aug 2016 16:59:51
Don't know about Tierney but Robertson is certainly better I'd say Wallace is better than Tierney. Even though I don't support scotland I can't see how ross mccormack doesn't get picked.

22 Aug 2016 17:17:33
Robertson is the best attackingfull back we have and proved that he can do it in the EPL. Tierney has improved the attacking side of his game and is solid At the back. Now you may disagree but both are better than Wallace in my opinion.

22 Aug 2016 17:33:06
why do we want our players for Scotland or is that the level
of performance we can expect after all a game against malta
gees a break.

22 Aug 2016 17:40:52
To be fair i'm a fan of Waldo but based upon preseason/ the start of this season he doesn't deserved it. Performing significantly below his potential right now for me!

22 Aug 2016 15:47:07
Robertson and Tierney are better than Wallace?
u serious mate?
if so go and play your banjo mate might have more people listening to that rubbish than the rubbish u are spouting hertierney should be second choice to Wallace and rebertson should be on the waiting list. Strachan is a good manager but with Scotland for me I've not seen him pick the right team once. imo.

22 Aug 2016 18:03:55
Who cares who is picked and who isn't Scotland won't qualify and Strachan will be out. Let's see who the next manager picks at left back.

22 Aug 2016 18:06:13
I think overall we are in a team in transition at the minute and we are not playing great but I am behind warburton and trust he will address the issues. I agree Wallace has not started great but I think he should be in the Scotland squad.

22 Aug 2016 18:21:57
Both players in front of him are better than him FACT and to the person that says Wallace is better at attacking than them are blind Robertson is better attacking and defending tho there job is too defend 1st and foremost.
Wallace is the 2nd worst player at Ibrox on performances so far with McKay being the worst.

22 Aug 2016 22:32:59
Tierney isn't better although shinnie and Kingsley are our 2 best bar Robertson and can't get a call up. the biggest joke was no rhodes and no tom cairney absolutely baffling. S.

22 Aug 2016 23:03:57
No McCormack is a joke. Most expensive Scot cannot get in squad due to strachan and his wee favourites.

23 Aug 2016 06:07:58
I'd say most of the team is a joke other than calling up Oliver Burke. Really not sure why McKay is getting called up right now as he is off form. Some seriously baffling decisions. Why on earth is Greer in the team and Flether agaaaiiinNN! Strachan out!

23 Aug 2016 19:37:32
F&@k the SFA anyway i'd rather none of our players wer involved with that shower.

22 Aug 2016 15:52:44
After the way Wallace has started this season I wouldn't put him in squad over them two either.

22 Aug 2016 21:22:43
Taxi for gannet10.

22 Aug 2016 09:24:06
Firstly I will say I am a big fan of Barton, Rossiter and Halliday.
However they do not work as a mid 3 against defensive teams.
Not only does it mean we lack penetration through the middle but when we go wide (which we do mostly) there is less options in the middle and no-one in the hole to lay up.
Basically we do not link up as well and when we get up the wings and turn inside we are passing further back to thos running on as there is no-one in the hole. this gives teams a chance to get behind the ball.
We need to replace one of the 3 with a Kranjcar/ Windass/ Forrester type.

22 Aug 2016 12:56:27
Would love to see moh playing in the hole (no.10) position behind our main central striker, he has tremendous pace and can hurt teams from there, I think moh is wasted out wide right and we should utilise his pace behind our main striker, thoughts on this bears.

22 Aug 2016 13:54:10
we have a main striker?

22 Aug 2016 14:03:47
Can't say i agree Warbs15.
I don't think MOH has the close control or vision required to play in the hole.
Would never get a game there in front of Kranjcar, Windass or Forrester.
I know u are a fan of MOH but I struggle to find him a place in our team (I hope he proves me wrong) . He can only (for me) play out right or up front and will only do so successfully against teams playing higher up the pitch.
He had the ideall opportunity near end against M/ well but fluffed it disappointingly.

22 Aug 2016 14:52:31
ohalloran looks like a guy low on confidence, I never rated him before he signed but he just looks link he can hurt teams every time he touches the ball, granted he hasn't done it but he has time to improve.

22 Aug 2016 14:58:14
Said before we signed MOH that he wasn't good enough or what we need. He has pace, but runs head down, has no vision, can't finish and can't cross the ball.

Love him to prove me wrong, something he has failed to do so far.

Personally would much rather see Joe dodoo get a good run in team to see what he can do.

Or- and this is a wild idea- play McKay on the right side of pitch so he can cross without cutting back all the time.

22 Aug 2016 15:15:24
I'm also one who rates O'Halloran. It's about getting used to playing for Rangers and the pressure of it. Some adapt quickly, others need time to adjust to the mental side. Also I keep hearing Windass will be back in a couple of days every couple of days. If and when, that'll make a difference and he should start.

22 Aug 2016 15:56:08
I think moh has the potential to prove all the haters wrong but I do agree it will only be against the sides that try to play their own game and not just try and stop us playing ours!

that being said he would be in my starting 11 i'd play dodo out on the right as that is his natural position and garner is our main striker now I think waggy is good but will struggle against the better sides this year.

22 Aug 2016 16:29:03
We have the players for a 4_2_3_1

Wes

Tav senderos Wilson Wallace

Barton rossiter

Waghorn krankcar dodoo

Garner.

22 Aug 2016 18:06:19
James Stirling

The people on here questioning MOH ability aren't haters they just aren't convinced by him and don't think he is good enough. Using words like that are ridiculous.

22 Aug 2016 18:11:41
Can I just ask the guys who rate O Halloran what do they base that on?

22 Aug 2016 18:40:43
Biffo316, good question. He's got good ball control, good first touch, he's got the skill to go past players at speed. He tore our defence apart in the cup last season.

22 Aug 2016 18:54:21
Biffo316,I base it on the pace and directness of moh, if he got a decent run in the team I truly think a lot of bears who don't rate moh would change there minds, he's to stop start to prove his undoubted ability imo, for most of us who have played the game and understand the game of football pace is a big asset to have in the modern game, here's something else I think could work a treat and inject pace into our midfield, I'd give barrie mckay a free role behind our front 3 in a role similar to messi at barca, mckay cuts inside all the time anyway and imo would be superb more central with his pace and his superb ability to pass a football.

22 Aug 2016 20:13:53
Kfraser

Ok I will widen out my question and say from what you have seen from him since signing for us what do you base this on?

Warbs15

A lot of players have pace but aren't that good Francis Jeffers had plenty of pace but was a disaster for us. You talk about being direct however I haven't seen much evidence of him changing games when he has come on or creating much. I only managed to play for a junior side so I probably didn't play at as high a level as you did.

22 Aug 2016 20:48:51
Nothing at all wrong with playing for a junior team mate, I played at county level and I was well chuffed about that.

22 Aug 2016 23:11:37
MOH has pace and has the close control to beat a player. However at the minute he has very poor vision and his crossing ability is severly lacking. If he could work on both of those aspects of his game then he would be a dangerous player for us.

22 Aug 2016 19:06:40
Personally I would like to see a 5-2-3 based on our current squad

Wes

Tav
Kiernan
Hill
Wilson
Wallace

Barton/ Holt/ Halliday
Rossiter

Winger
Striker
Forester.

22 Aug 2016 19:08:01
Biffo, pace, drive and style. Watch MOH. He barely goes backwards with the ball. Very direct, which is what we need. Too many side and back passes for me.

21 Aug 2016 22:25:10
Not worried. Windass is still to come back and he is one of our more 'penetrating' players. He will make things happen. a lot of Tav's crosses yesterday would have been finished by Garner.

I can see us using Crooks in the same way as we did Dom Ball last season, and I can anticipate him bringing a bit of composure at the back.

It will all come together. Onwards and Upwards.

22 Aug 2016 15:57:55
love the positivity but rossiter is a great wee player and does really well in that cdm position. a young steve g indeed.

22 Aug 2016 08:59:45
If we had a fully fit squad I'd not be worried but the fact is there all off the pace that league cup did not help our pre season
Playing games that only allows 3 subs in pre season really hampered our preparation to get everyone game time.
