Ed, just read this on another site:

INS:

Cammy Bell, Steve Simonsen,

Bilel Mohsni, Ricky Foster, Steve Smith,

Arnold Peralta, Nicky Law,

Jon Daly, Nicky Clark.

TOTAL: 9

OUTS:

Neil Alexander, Blair Currie

Carlos Bocanegra, Dorin Goian, Darren Cole, Anestis Argyriou, Stuart Urquhart, Matthew Clarke, Travis Gregory, Jordan Wilson,

Francesco Stella, Kamil Wiktorski, Gregor Fotheringham,

Francisco Sandaza, Kevin Kyle, Kane Hemmings, Kal Naismith, Glody N'Tumba

LOAN: Scott Gallacher, Andrew Mitchell

TOTAL: 20 (8 youth players, 2 loan deals, 10 senior squad members)

Last season, at times we were threadbare, and this season we've lost more than we've brought in. Albeit the quality brought in improves the team handsomely and the inexperienced youngsters thrown in at the deep end last year have a season under their belts now but I still can't understand people criticizing Ally for trying to bring more in.

The amount of players Ally has brought in doesn't seem so OTT now.

I think the player costs are a complete red herring - at most they will account for a few million, even allowing for settlements for Sandaza, Bocanegra and Goian

The cash is being syphoned off at an alarming rare by the spivs
They know every trick in the book - legal, barely legal and downright shady.

The resulting cash black hole can only be filled by the sale of assets - Ibrox, MP and the car park.
In future the Gers will rent the stadium, lease the car park and for all the good that Ally gets from MP he would be as well planting spuds.

The last comment is of course due to selling Scotlands under 18 captain to Coventry for a pittance, while paying Jig a million pounds a year to plug gaps.

Does this sound like a way forward.

Will this thinking get Rangers to the group stages of the Champions League

Lee Wallace remains the only player in the squad who would be on the team sheet 2 years ago - I honestly believe the rest would struggle to make the reserves.
Murray park should be a conveyor belt of talent - even more so during these desparate times. It has never lived up to expectations.

Hard questions must be asked

Is there still time to turn it round and at last get value from this expensive white elephant?

Agree0 Disagree0

More than half of them players were on min wage, most of the players ally has signed this year are on more than people that play in the top league.

Agree0 Disagree0

The article is very mis leading at least 9 of the players mentioned never got a game for the 1st team. 2 players Goian and Bocanegra were sent out on loan, Stella, Hemmings, Naismith hardly played. While injuries kept Kyle and Sandaza out of the team for a period of time. Only Alexander was a regular in the team

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 you don't sell your 1st team regulars & keep the fringe players your post makes no sense.

Larky Beat

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 how does it make no sense? Where do I say we should sell our first team regulars? All the post says that nearly all the players that have left weren't involved much last season. So it don't think u can say its 9 in and 20 out. Thought that was obvious but obviously not to u. Hope I have now cleared it up for u without having to draw u a diagram

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 since when were Stuart Urquhart, Matthew Clark, Travis Gregory, Jordan Wilson, Blaire Currie, Kamil Witorski, Gregor Fotheringham and Glody N'Tumba first team fringe players. Your post makes no sense!

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 if the finances are as bad as being said then I'm afraid you have to try and sell some first team players and keep the fringe players

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 4 are you any relation to Larky Bear or did you just forget your name?

So Ally uses most of his press conference to tell us that we have a couple of players who may have an injury from playing on the artificial surface recently and that he doesn't let his players train on them as they may be injured and that he and the players don't like them and competitive games should only be played on grass.
He then goes on to tell us that he understands why they are being used and that they will not be used as an excuse if we are beaten and that he is NOT GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM, pure genus.
Genuinely can't wait for the game tomorrow, really hope the team can continue where they left off in league games, just wondered though if anyone had any thought's about what players may be left out and how the remaining players will approach the game and if this pitch will have an influence on the outcome?.

Can't believe the big deal McCoist makes about the Astro pitches. It's embarrassing how he goes on about them. These pitches aid good football and good players should prosper in such pitches. As for the injuries you can get the same injuries on grass and why drop certain players as any player can get injured

I remember more injuries hapening to Rangers when they only ever played on grass unreal it was at times.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why did we pay 600k for templeton if he can't play every 3rd week?

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 exactly. Kuznetzov, Rozenthal & Brian Reid were 3 players who sustained long term knee injuries on grass. So if Ally had been their manager he wouldn't have played them on grass again?

Agree0 Disagree0

Most managers hate astro pitches as they do increase injury risk to injury prones players. But please guys, don't let a bit of honesty get in the way of your mccoist bashing.

Gaz.

@5 to be fair Ally doesn't help himself when his team play so poorly and he plays players out of position
