1) Foderingham
2) Paterson
3) Alves
4) Bates
5) Wallace
6) Jack
7) Rossiter
8) Weiss
9) Garner
10) Moult
11) Walker

Passing time on nightshift and trying to think of a realistic starting squad to compete against THEM next year. If we focus on beating every other team home and away the games against Celtic can decide the title. None of this settling for second pish we need players that are ambitious with a bit of fight which is exactly what the likes of Jack, Walker, Weiss and Patterson could provide. Maybe just being nostalgic from the 90's but a good Scottish/ British core to the team that understands what it means with a bit of European flare. Moult and Garner upfront would provide a good physical challenge to any defence and an aerial threat.

Look forward to seeing some opinions and the obvious backlash of negativity lol.

Dont want too many spl players 90% are not good enough. We have youth better using our own than buy others. Would be happy with just jack and patterson. That is enough. If we are to atleast try and have a resonable run in europe like to group stages (probably unlikely) and to close the gap majorly on them then players from sscotland won't cut it.

22 May 2017 01:24:53
How many dembele dollars would it cost to get tierney? :)

22 May 2017 02:51:24
Tiereny will not go for less than 15 million, future scotland captain, cn play either wing, cross a ball the list goes on.

dont know why your making jokes, if we had anyone half as good we would be happy and looking for 8 million.

mckay has the potential to be a rangers and scotland great if only he was a bit braver like tierney.

next season anything less than second is a major fail

22 May 2017 09:52:09
Agree most of the spfl players are not good enough so jack maybe Paterson will be enough as we still got Wallace miller possibly Naismith dorrens that's 5 Scottish players who are all rangers plus other British players and wiess has played hear before so that's enough for me if we want to compete in Europe we need to add good foreign players to it.

22 May 2017 10:19:49
Jamie 5100

so we will make 8 signings, and get rid of holt, halliday, forry. mckay, keirnan etc?

hope it was a good weekend as I've no idea how you can consider this a potential first 11?

22 May 2017 10:32:48
Apparently Tierney equates to Dembeles 3rd leg in Dembele 'dong'ers.

@CR BEAR the only guy with a sense of humour in this thread.

22 May 2017 10:49:31
Well i'm living in hope with that team there. But in all honesty that team there would not cost mega money to get. I do think mckay will leave for 2 to 3 million. Tav will leave maybe 1 to 2 million. Kiernan and hodson posdibly around 500k each. Waghorn i would keep as squad player. Garner i really can't make up my mind. Halliday and holt i can't see leaving. Forrester god only knows who would want him ohalloran maybe a loan somewhere. Windass and crooks is same as garner can't decide, dodoo needs game time possible loan down south to

22 May 2017 11:01:17
What i would say about south american players and mexican is that the football there is very aggresive and fast. However players there who haven't played outside of this part of the world would find it difficult to adapt to scotland or uk for that matter. The culture in general is very different. Their english will be limited. Much of the football is played late at night over there. I do think it would be a huge gamble in taking 3 of them. Ofcourse there is the few who are brilliant but they are nurtured and already spotted at young age. I have watched a lot of foorball there after working in argentina and mexico for 6 years.

22 May 2017 13:45:56
Justtosee

Don’t fancy Ronaldo and Messi together unless you are the lone striker and they are playing off you

22 May 2017 14:52:23
No deeb, I would only be there as the bouncer to keep Messi and Ronaldo from kicking each other rather than the ball, and also as the statkeeper to keep tally of how many times they nutmeg the opposition for bragging rites.

23 May 2017 13:39:40
what i would say to that jamie is that anyone rangers sign will be a risk even alves the no.1 target for rangers fans isn't guarenteed to be good over here although i think he would be a great captain your assesment of forrester is harsh the boy has hardly had a chance in our team and i think he looks a really good player like mckay in a better team they would flourish but that's just my opinion

21 May 2017 18:29:26
Going by rumours our possible team line up next season. Would you be happy with this? Fotheringham, Patterson, sumilia, Alves, Wallace, Dorrans, Veloso, Kranjker, Weiss, Naismith, Miller.

21 May 2017 18:59:25
Already have Kranjcar

21 May 2017 19:06:23
Vanbasten didn't read your post right.

21 May 2017 19:22:22
Ryan Jack?

21 May 2017 19:24:15
Sound mate still think we need a top class goal scorer to that line up and I would be happyπŸ‘πŸΌ

21 May 2017 20:18:04
Told you about Patterson, will be a sensation.!
Just waiting on JT or Sumalia.! πŸ™πŸ”΄βš½οΈπŸ”΅
Defoe would be another great signing.!
C'mon the Gers. πŸŽ–πŸ…πŸ‘πŸ†

21 May 2017 21:05:15
Not Weiss. Anyone else think he is a Wee tube? "I might be coming back".

Aye like all the other times and like Pedro called him or his agent up and said "I might sign you". Jog on. No class. If we did want him he should be a bit more respectful. Just an average badge kisser

22 May 2017 00:35:24
Jordan rossiter? If fit he'll walk into our starting 11!

22 May 2017 00:40:45
How about:
Foderingham,
Patterson, Sumilia, Alves,
Tavernier, Jack Rossiter, Nico Wallace,
Lafferty, Garner.

Subs from
New Experienced Winger, New Experienced C. Mid, Beerman, Miller, Windass, A Wilson, D Wilson, Waghorn, Naismith, Barjonas, Dodoo.

22 May 2017 00:52:14
I'd get rid of Foderingham guy just isn't good enough period.

22 May 2017 01:23:20
Totally agree was average with us first time

21 May 2017 18:33:01
Not posted on here for quite a while but read all the posts daily on the train.
One thing that irks ne is " we must target second place next season". that's nonsense. our target must ALWAYS be top spot. yeah sure. we are bit behind that mob but if we start to think that 2nd is acceptable before a ball is kicked, then we have lowered our standards and ambitions. We are Glasgow Rangers and should never accept second best.
I know its going to be difficult, but we need to have that expectation installed into every player and fan alike. I for one can't wait unti that day finally happens.

21 May 2017 18:35:35
Patterson is exactly what's missing from current team. If we buy at his calibre we will vastly improve.
Walker mcginn would also be good. Need a solid core then have your quality around them like nico.
Would love 4 or 5 good Scottish players in.
Fingers crossed we can get some of these deals done.

21 May 2017 21:26:03
Why all the obsession with Scottish players? Most of them, like the SFA, hate us. Anyway, there aren't four or five who would be good enough and willing enough.

22 May 2017 09:51:24
Patterson and Ryan Jack are probably the only 2 players I'd want from the SPL.

21 May 2017 18:31:14
These are the players I hope that we bring in:

Alves
Dorrans
Weiss
Danny
Gauld
And a striker.

I'd keep Garner along with Miller Waghorn needs to go and as for Dodoo I do like him but he needs to go out on loan or transfer depending on who and how many we bring Iin and if Caixinha thinks the younger lads are ready for some first team game time.

Really hope ti see Atakayi get a run tomorrow and a real chance next season as I've a real good feeling about this lad not expecting miracles but want him to stay at Ibrox and not go out on loan this lad does have something about him same as Beerman I think these lads will be 5m plus player after 2-3 seasons. The future of our team IS looking good Bears its just a matter of time.

21 May 2017 21:04:35
That list you put is the quality of player that we need to bring in if we are to challenge for the title not all this mault henigen Lindsey walker maginn pish

23 May 2017 15:20:46
Lindsay is in the same team of the year as most Celtic's first 11. And unless you want Alves playing cb with Wilson, or Bates don't see how he wouldn't be an improvement.

21 May 2017 18:27:49
IF Barry goes then we must bring in a player like Weiss. I genuinely hope that he does come and with news of season ticket money going into squad then fingers crossed would love it if Danny from Zenit came and I would welcome Guald.

22 May 2017 01:20:16
The season ticket money going into squad will be to pay for the current squad next season and who we bring in. it won't all be spent on new players.

23 May 2017 13:45:52
dissagree bawbag i think he was very good when we got him the last time and he is much better than what we have and he has become an even better player since he left weiss would be a cracking signing!

my team so far would be; fod
tav bartley alves waldo
rossiter jack
mckay naisy wiess

a new striker as garner waggy are not the answers neither is dodoo

21 May 2017 18:14:06
Is it just me or does anyone else think the last min sub of Mr Andrew Halliday was just a farewell jesture for Mr One of Us. I hope so!

21 May 2017 17:37:41
How did we play today?

21 May 2017 18:24:58
The youngsters look impressive

21 May 2017 18:33:30
Played quite well, young players played as well as anyone else, special note for barjonas looks composed, shouldve been 3,4-0 ends up 2-1 story of our season tbh

21 May 2017 18:31:40
Aye a thought he looked tidy when he came on against the sheep

21 May 2017 18:33:36
Barjonas

21 May 2017 16:44:21
Anyone hear the trepidation in the reporter's voice when Pedro said next season will be totally different? Code for maybe the media's beloved St Brendan ain't going to get it all his own way.

21 May 2017 18:31:03
Joscro, my god your clutching at anything are you not? . Pedro is all talk, that's all he's done since he came here. Full of quotes and soundbites to sell season tickets and buy himself more time at a job he won't have by christmas. Believe me, Celtic fear no one.

21 May 2017 18:27:21
Funny enough i never heard it either. More wishfull thinking from joscro i think. Are you sure the reporter was not trying to stop himself laughing. Pedro might be right. I mean 36 points is only 12 wins more. Shouldnt be a problem then.

21 May 2017 18:50:29
Then why are you on here Bhampot? . your teams day today and YOU are on a Rangers page? . laughable!

21 May 2017 19:01:57
This season aye, not amount to much for next season.

21 May 2017 19:05:39
I remember Celtic winning the league by a shedload in 2004 and we didn't look like we would do anything the next season and we won the league, can happen again.

21 May 2017 15:56:43
If I was aged 20-25 and was told that I had no future at Ibrox, I would be telling my Agent to earn his percentage and find me a new club> I would certainly not like to be out of football for 12 or 24 months dependant on my contract. Who would want me after that length out. It would have all the signs of ending my career as a footballer. Provide Rangers offer trainig facilities they would not be in breech of contact.

21 May 2017 16:18:21
Who are you referring too?

21 May 2017 18:36:58
Adamski73, Whoever is on the list of the "not wanted" Unlike others on this site I am not speculating on who the players concerned are.

21 May 2017 20:59:51
Makes sense now cheers for the clarity

21 May 2017 21:08:52
If you think about it the stereotypical agent is a money grabbing basta*d so any deccent agent worth his salt will be encouraging these players to move clubs for their own benefit anyway.

21 May 2017 13:12:37
I had no idea waggie had a right food. Cracking pass lad.

21 May 2017 14:31:45
he is no a bad player let it be said.

pedro will bring out the good, he's likeable and has a decent pedigree, he could very well be our next walter smith.

today shows we are not a sleeping giant, we are on our way back

21 May 2017 15:15:23
Getting ahead of yourself there pal lol baby steps remember

21 May 2017 17:04:33
Blueblood gers it was st johnson. Get a grip. Next season won't be as bad but there is no chance Rangers will win the league. Tsrget can only be second and that will only happen if 5 or 6 replacements come in who are decent.

21 May 2017 19:08:33
Think we may well get them

21 May 2017 12:05:38
Good to see more kids getting a chance today with nothing at stake. Baronjas, Aidan Wilson, Bates and Beerman all start and a couple of Academy youngsters on the bench. No great expectations today but let's see how they do.

21 May 2017 17:07:36
The only hope Rangers have got of getting close to Celtic in next 3 years is playing youth. Celtic will lose players. Depends on who they replace them with but Rangers will never outspend them and Pedro is not as good as BR so it has to be play youth and see if the young guns can get thst spirit together to win.

21 May 2017 18:01:58
We won't get near them next season unless we start beating everyone else home and away, the matches against them will take care of themselves

21 May 2017 18:22:46
Whats the formation?
My fotmob app shows a 4-3-3! With Barjonas on the left of a front 3! Surely this is wrong and by sounds of it, its a 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-3-2?
Absolutely brilliant to see the young lads getting game time.
Hope they have a good game and they can show Caixinha that they are ones to watch.
All I want now is for Atayaki to get on. Hopefully a good 1/ 2 hr and I he will score ot definitely get an assist on top of creating

21 May 2017 11:11:52
I've been saying for ages that we should be first of all trying to secure the best homegrown players instead of wasting it in the lower leagues down south. Patterson and jack would be decent accquisitions. Patterson looked the part before getting injured.

21 May 2017
The real time live chat page is open for today's Rangers match at the below link for you to talk to each other during the match
Rangers Live Chat page

21 May 2017 10:33:07
Have to laugh at some fans. "Ryan jack will be a squad player" ehhh not being funny but he's coming in from a better team than us where he was there captain and played consistantly well for them? I think some fans are still stuck in a time when we could get the interested from BPL players but let's be honest what have we got to offer them?

21 May 2017 11:15:54
Got to laugh mate lol

21 May 2017 11:56:54
While Jack looks exactly the type of player we should want in our ranks we need to be very careful not to assume that every player that looks the part in 'smaller' teams will be able to cope with the pressures of playing for Rangers in front of 50,000 every second week.

I believe that what we need is a mixture of the best young Scottish players supported by strong professional overseas players that have the CV's and the International experience as well as the hunger for success.

Players should only come to Rangers if they want to win trophies and are willing to do what is necessary to be successful.

21 May 2017 14:57:13
Aberdeen are a English league 1 standered side so being there captain means nothing to me if we want to beat Aberdeen then great signing but if we want to catch Celtic and compete in Europe we need better.

21 May 2017 16:19:24
Who do you want us to sign Messi?, we need to sign a few players who know the spl and Ryan Jack is a top player who knows the league well as for Europe it will be a while before we get a decent run in that, first of all let's concentrate on the league which is our bread and butter

21 May 2017 18:27:09
Naismith, whittaker, novo etc were signed from scottish clubs and they could more than complete with celtic.

21 May 2017 10:20:15
I can't for the life of me work out why we haven't approached jamie walker. before anyone says he's not good enough he's only 23 and personally i think he's absolute class, one year left on his contract and unsure if he wants to stay? i'd definitely approach him. Thoughts?

21 May 2017 11:16:56
In total agreement kyle1872. We should be looking at all the best Scottish talent, and walker is definitely up there in my opinion.

21 May 2017 14:59:26
And saying jack will be a squad player is not as funny as people saying we are signing Ryan jack that's the midfield sorted pmsl

21 May 2017 15:54:54
Walker would be a sensible signing, tore us apart earlier in the season

21 May 2017 21:13:26
Thought this myself and watched him against the unwashed a few times this season. Ran his socks off and wasn't afraid to put in a firm challenge on the likes of that brown. That's the kind of fight we've been lacking for years.

21 May 2017 10:18:41
It always amazes me when a washed up ex pro, like Nicholas, Sutton, Hartson who not only have nothing to do with the game anymore but had nothing to do with the club they are talking about comment on said club and then the press ask the manager of the club what do you think of what so and so said then are surprised when the answer is that he doesn't care what anyone outside the club thinks.

21 May 2017 11:28:27
To be fair that happens with every ex pro working in the media.

21 May 2017 09:14:36
To all the bears this is what i think we need to be challenging that lot

Alves cb i think he will sign a other aswel hopefully of the same quality

Jack and veloso dm

Weiss and paulioho

Moult and hopefully someone we've not been liked with but a lot better than what we've had for the last five year thoughts on this bears.

21 May 2017 10:09:34
Callum patterson of hearts is on i want the most, he is top class for 22 yr old! And would give so much security to our centre backs

21 May 2017 10:21:04
Need better than moult

21 May 2017 10:41:16
Back into administration in no time with these wages

21 May 2017 11:49:30
I'd much rather have Boyce than Moult I reckon he would be a much better pairing with Garner.

21 May 2017 12:00:57
This idea, (and wish from our enemies), that we will be back in administration, is borne out of fear since they have had an easy passage for the past five years. Although they might not be the most dynamic, the current Rangers Board will not let the club go down although what happens across the City in the future, no one knows!

21 May 2017 18:24:07
Tomusa keep kidding yourself on thst anyone is afraid of what Rangers will do. Administration msy be a possability if Rangers don't start to generate some revenue. Needs the Ashley deal sorted. Wont happen. Needs European football. Wont qualify. Bring in 6 decent players on Β£10k a week and Rangers need to find another Β£3.75mill plus signing on fees agents etc. So don't dismiss admin 2

21 May 2017 06:49:07
If Lafferty, Naismith and others what back at the club they supported but ditched for money then let them back but pay them 3 grand a week. I bet they would not be keen to come back to the club the loved.

21 May 2017 09:09:01
These guys are professional footballers. The club went bust. Why should they stay and take a pay cut? Footballers are not supporters. They do what they do for a living. All that matters is what they do on the pitch. If a company you worked for were going bust you would find a new job. So what's the difference

21 May 2017 09:10:15
And that's how u get players to play for your club make them feel unwanted where do you get your brains poundland

21 May 2017 10:15:57
Difference is johnny Naismith and Whittaker had a press conference came out said club was dead and sevco rubbish . that's what a lot of rangers fans have a problem with. its up to Naismith to say something if he wants to come back

21 May 2017 10:44:42
Don't agree with this nonsense about leaving the club. These players were in main part of their careers and shouldn't have been asked to goto the 3rd division. All if them gave give service to rangers as players and shouldn't be forgotten. I'd never have asked anyone to work under Charles green.

21 May 2017 10:58:48
Johnnymac

Are you seriously trying to compare a footballers job to jobs the the vast majority of people have? That's just utterly ridiculous and extremely naive. I will try and explain this as simply as I can. The players were asked to tupe their contracts over as is normal practice when this sort of thing happens. At no point were these players expected to play for the club or take a massive pay cut. They were all to be sold so the club could get much needed income which at the time could have been the difference between the club surviving or being extinct. They could have easily negotiated modest transfer fees to re-sign. The players would still have got their moves and the club would have got much needed cash. do you honestly think that clubs like Everton wouldn't have signed Naismith if they had to pay Β£500k? Instead these players chose to turn their backs on the fans and club and left for nothing.
In Naismiths case he couldn't even depart quietly he had to hold a press conference and declare Rangers dead. That's completely unforgivable especially when you also consider that the club helped him through 2 major injuries.

21 May 2017 11:17:16
Well said Brian g people have short memory's not got a problem with them leaving but the way Naismith and Whittaker done it was terrible. saying that if any signed think they would need come out and say something apology badly advised etc and we probally could move on with most fans

21 May 2017 11:34:54
Stewartyg65

Exactly my point mate no Rangers fan would have begrudged those players moving on to further their careers as long as the club got something for them. It was bad enough when players like McGregor and Lafferty turned their back on the club and left but what Naismith did was unforgivable. The press conference was unbelievably stupid and showed a lack of respect for the club and fans. Don't even think Lennon ever came out with that line about the club being dead

21 May 2017 18:11:31
@sm8282 I would suggest the answer to your question is in his name

21 May 2017 00:37:51
Yet again I can't believe the negativity on here from a lot of people towards ped and also the potential signing of weiss. Firstly the genuine concensus was that we shouldn't judge ped until next season. Yet there's people on here already calling for his head! Give him a break! He's inherited the worst rangers side in spl history and he's analysing his squad. His realistic target was a European spot and it's been achieved. Secondly on the chance of weiss coming back I believe he would improve our squad ten fold! Ok he's not the best player to ever grace ibrox but he's a darn sight better than 99% of our squad and he would walk to ibrox from Qatar to play for our jersey again which is what you call commitment which is more than we can say about most of our squad. Along with him, naismith, Alves and hopefully afew others I'll be very positive for next season. Ppl need to realise that we can't attract Premiership type players anymore unless we get luck with youth. We are where we are and I personally (despite the extremely poor show this season) think things are finally looking up for us. Back in Europe and hopefully challenging for a strong second is a far cry from being in the 3rd division. So let's get behind ped and our new and improved squad at the end of June and show them why we are the greatest club and the best supporters in the world. 54 and counting!

21 May 2017 04:22:04
We are no longer THE PEOPLE at this stage according to the negetive comments made by so many bears. Its been a longer JOURNEY than first anticipated back in 2011 post financial meltdown. there's been more bruises and embarrassing results than we would have liked or anticipated. However let's be positive with a new season beckoning .

21 May 2017 07:03:45
I am willing to give pedro a chance as he talks getting the core of the team together with winners, Souness realised that and brought in woods, butcher, roberts etc. albiet we haven't got the same budget, but stabilising the team with experienced players regardless of their age makes sense.
As much as I would like to see young players getting a chance our current players are not good enough, IMO.
Get a winning team on the park is priority, then if we are 3 goals up for example introduce the young players with no pressure to see what they can do.
Re McKay situation I would let him go as he hasn't performed for weeks and lacks aggression, talented no doubt but doesn't show enough to merit a new deal.

21 May 2017 08:29:27
A lot of people on here seem to be far too receptive to being influenced by the MSM. A media very heavily Celtic biased. It's became all the rage to kick and sneere at all things Rangers while we were down. It seems to have set a trend and unfortunately some fans lap it up and home their own views on this unfactual and unfair dross. Journalism itself has became a copy and paste joke.

Pedro will turn out to be a great manager for us. Currently he's working with another mans tools which don't seem to be responding well to a disciplinarian, rather than the puff pastry approach if the all learning Warburton.

I'm happy with ideals being reformed within our club. Play for the jersey, defend the club, be proud to be here! What is wrong with that. It's called leading by example. People will then say that he's tactically naive, weren't the same people extremely annoyed that there wasn't a plan B at the beginning of the year? Now there are many adaptive plans, we only lack the correct steely players to cary it out.

The definition of madness is repeating the same process over and over expecting different result. We're trying something differently and it'll pay off next season. Our first season wasn't the failure it's made out to be. Walk before you run.

The manager isn't helping himself with his stupid comments and is only inviting trouble on himself. Saying we had the best squad in the league was laughable and rightly people jumped on this. Naming his team the day before the Kilmarnock game was another error of judgement something he hasn't done since and then his stupid comments about Aberdeen coming to end of their cycle just before the game on Wednesday. What was the point in saying that? Again it came back to bite him. Pedro would be better keeping his mouth shut and getting on with the job. If you want to spout such things you do so from a position of strength something we aren't currently in

To any of our supporters who think we are not the people anymore-"WE ARE THE PEOPLE" and always will be!

I personally like the attitude of Pedro. I'd rather have a manager with a bit of fire in his belly that wants to win, than someone who just goes with the flow and does as the media wants . I think Pedro has the right attitude and if he ruffles a few feathers on the way then good.

All for thinking out the box and not just conforming, can't believe he's being attacked from what appears all sides. He is adjusting to a new country, club and a media group who want to put the boot in to every comment he makes, after setting him up . He will get wise to that, but needs some time, then he can be judged on his own team.
