Guys, let's be honest, we all want some new signings at Rangers, next season is another step up, and we need a bit more quality. and if Ally is still manager, so be it, I will still support the team, but mumping and moaning about things at the moment is doing us no favours, we have to see what transpires with D King and the board, hopefully some long term investment, with no silly risks. but we are on the way back. remember, nobody said it would be easy, and the joy when we return to the top, and satisfaction of thumbing our noses at the haters, will, in my opinion be worth the wait. Rangers Always.
Billy, I think we all want a better product on the park but to continually sign without off-loading is an easy option IF you have too much cash. Ally cannot make the best use of what we have at present, so to continue down 'the buying success' route won't work and will end in grief.
Forget Dave King and his magic wand and get the basics right. That is the only road to eventual success.
We all want to see better football, but after 3 years of pish it is blatantly obvious that this will never happen under McCoist regardless of new signings, Nicky Clarke scored 30+ goals last season hardly plays, Temps is getting worse, yet pish like Black Peralta are always straight in the team. McCoist has had long enough to prove himself as a manager and failed miserably at every single step, his tactics are an embarrassment he could sign Messi, Ronaldo and Bale it would still be s***e. 3 years down the line fans are still giving him time, how much time? we need to get someone in to manage the team properly or next season could be really embarrassing and should we progress the next season even worse.
@2 "failed miserably at every single step"? We are in the semi finals of the Scottish cup, we won the league and are playing in a cup final, that is certainly not failing at every single step, he hasn't failed in the league or the scottish cup or the ramsdens cup. IF repeat IF we are embarrassed next season then you should critisise not before. What is it you want? Is it slick one touch football? In these leagues it ain't going to happen.
@3. If we're embarrassed next season? were we not embarrassed by part timers over and again this season? does a cup win justify the appalling standard of football from a very well paid manager and team? if the players he bought can't dominate games against part timers whose fault is that? there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that
he will improve given him more time or players (12 or 13 this season. still pish) other than he is Ally McCoist and he must have played that card to death by now surely!
Jyf, we cannot expect silky football skills, maybe, but surely an organised team playing slick and, at times, one touch football is within reasonable perameters for our highly paid squad.
Not every week, I accept, but the standard of our play is deplorable and not good to watch.
We are all Rangers supporters but that does mean we cannot criticise what we pay to see. If you are happy then good luck to you but I think our method of play is an accident waiting to happen. To say 'wait till next season' before acting after an embarrassment will be too little too late, in my opinion.
It's ally that's putting them off Johncass, his tactics won't change even with better players.
Totally agree with Smokey Bear. Absolute drivel for three seasons, the manager of my local amateur football team would be sacked before now! Albion Rovers cup game was the very last straw for me and any self respecting manager would have walked after that debacle. I had hoped that he was just waiting till the league was won then stand down but alas no.
@4 we have dominated every game this season having between 60% and 70% of the ball and remember Ally had us 10 points clear in the SPL before things went wrong, would you bet against us winning the league next season because I wouldn't and do you know what, I can't wait.
