Doiger - I think he has won a lot as a manager. Might be wrong but think the only title he hasn't won in England might be the EPL - could be wrong though.
He is a far better manager than Gerrard imho.
SGL - Gerrard might have better potential but Pearson is currently the better, more successful manager. Who would you rather have as manager, Pep or Arteta? same applies here.
Also the season he left Leicester (prior to them winning the league) I think they had the best run of any team after Christmas, which for me Ranieri basically kept what Pearson started, going.
But you right - it's all about opinions and in my opinion SG is still learning on the job and Rangers should not be a training ground for young up and coming managers to learn all their mistakes before moving onto better things.

I will be very surprised if Gerrard goes to Bristol. I don't believe that it is about money for him. It is about winning things and setting himself up for the Liverpool Job. I also believe that he is a man of honour. As for being closer to home, Glasgow is closer to Liverpool than Bristol. While I am sure that the Bristol City Owner will throw money at a new manager in an attempt to win promotion however there are many teams in the Championship that are as well placed if not beet placed to win promotion and in comparison to Rangers, Bristol City are a nobody.

Pearson won League 1 with Leicester City in 2009 and the Championship with them in 2014. Otherwise, nothing as manager. Of course he has bee around the management scene for more than 20 years with 8 or 9 teams. Gerrard is at Rangers as a project and will see it out, even if it takes 5 or 6 years. He will end up at Liverpool one day no doubt, that is probably his destiny. Before then, he'll take us back to glory. He looks like a good prospect but I would rather we took a little gamble and went for there other striker a certain Mr Jozy Altidor he's a brute of a man yes he's thirty but you don't try stop them with there fictitious ten every year, so age shouldn't matter to much. I'll start by saying I'm a great SG fan. His record of bringing on youth players however is abysmal. It's far to easy to say they are not good enough, I've said it myself, there are very good players in some of these young lads. I've had Rangers TV for coming up for 2 years and really enjoyed there achievements.
Before you say I'm at it again think back over the last 2 years at some of the substitutions. How many times have you thought OMG not him, some of our young loanees spring to mind but other older players too. We have to play some of these kids or they will never have the confidence, making cheap ego statements about them certainly wont.

The money in football today has a big part in why young players have the "ego's" they have, just a few examples :
Jude Bellingham 17 - 40 appearances, sold to Dortmund for 25m
Kylian Mbappé 18 - 41 appearances, sold to PSG for 180m
Joao Felix 19 - 26 appearances, sold to A. Madrid for 113m million
That's a combined total of 218m for 107 appearances.
Now obviously we are talking about players nowhere near the level of those 3 above but that's not the point i'm making. My point is if you have young players (regardless of ability) moving for crazy amount of money before they have even shown how good they can actually be then all young players who have even the smallest amount of hype around them with rumours of big European clubs interested then they are going to ask for ridiculous wages to stay.
SG is spot on, too many young players in football these days feel like they deserve stupid money because a couple of big clubs are interested in them and they have impressed for a youth team. Young players have to be protected from making bad decisions for more money. If Kai Kennedy moves on for example to bayern or man city, how many 1st team games do you think he will get? quick answer is none, will be loaned out to numerous teams before leaving on a free in 4 or 5 years, by that time his career would be finished before it has even got started.

If the latter had happened, I wouldn't have complained if the other lot won the league, thought I wouldn't be happy. I think we should be trying to nick in front of the unwashed and get Turnbull from Motherwell. I think he is the ideal replacement for Davis.
He will be cheaper than he was a year ago. We could loan him back to Motherwell for This season as Davis winds down and he gets back to his best. Maybe loan Doc or McCrorie too. Let them develop together.

He's not exactly going cheap so could be a costly gamble, he's just back from a major injury so again would be risk involved seeing how he's come back and if he can't find form, and lastly, let them have him I really don't think he's a step up to what we have.
For me mate he can't and will never lace Davis boots even though I do agree we would love someone in his mould for when he finishes up.
For all the doubters out there Davis was nowhere his best but as sgl coop said he just came back from injury, a think Davis could be instrumental in us winning the league this year if he finds his form again and stays injury free.
