21 Jul 2016 22:10:05
Hearts and Hibs out of Europe though Aberdeen won. Still, added to Septic's humiliation in Gibraltar not a good week or so for Scottish club football. Let's hope we can get back into Europe next season and perform well. I think the Europa League would have been too soon for us this season and we too could have suffered an embarrassing defeat.

21 Jul 2016 22:36:19
Agree a poor set of results for Scotland. Don’t agree we would have risked an embarrassing result. Thought Hibs were probably better side than Brondby in both legs. Henderson out I think weakens Hibs from last season and we are stronger.

22 Jul 2016 06:56:26
Maybe just me, but I lapped up last night! Hearts and Hibs fans giving it the big talk look like muppets now.

As for Scottish football. Well at club level at least, Scottish football can suck my wee, ginger choad! I stopped caring when they opted to put the boot in.

Club level only mind. Will always be passionate for the national side.

22 Jul 2016 07:47:40
I'm 100% behind you Iwdawson, they will probably say, "at least we were there" so what? what's the point of being in Europe when you're out before the end of July lol the other 2 Scottish teams won't get into their respective group stages either.

22 Jul 2016 08:03:49
Well we might not be getting Champions League or Europa League next season if Scottish teams don't start improving.

22 Jul 2016 09:27:53
Poor old Lemon has had great start at Hibs, not. lol.

22 Jul 2016 09:53:59
I used to wish Scottish teams the best in Europe, except Celtic obviously.

Not now though. They have never and will never wish us the best in any of our endeavours.

Why should we take the moral high ground?

22 Jul 2016 10:34:28
Couldn't give a flying f*** about the coefficient. Get them all out as quick as possible. We will take our chances next season and I reckon we'll surprise a few folk. Couldn't be any worse mind you when you look at some of the results Scottish teams have had against mighty teams from Latvia and Lithuania as well as the likes of Molde, Warsaw and Maribor. Oh and not forgetting the red Imps! Har Har har!

22 Jul 2016 11:16:02
Terrible results last night, particularly Hearts, does the Scottish game no good whatsoever. Assume this also means Hearts have no competitive action until opening SPL fixture against Celtic more than 2 weeks away.

22 Jul 2016 11:24:25
To hell with the lot of them, I couldn't care less about one Club in Scotland bar Rangers anymore. Never used to be the case but since we went down we've had everybody and their dog sticking the boot into us.
I selfishly hope Celtic get pumped and dumped into the Europa, as I think it will help us with the league. Either way it will be good to wipe the remaining smiles off all Hearts, Aberdeen and Celtic fans' faces when we come back for our title. 55.

22 Jul 2016 14:23:05
Rather limited and narrow minded there (again) recbob.

Their failings do effect us wether you like it or not- means we will get tougher draws at earlier stages and considering our team has no European experience that can only be a problem.

Personally I think if a team gets knocked out at this stage by a team from Malta they should not be allowed to represent Scottish football the next year. Hibs lost to a much better team but it's an outrage they even got to play in Europe after cup final disgrace.

22 Jul 2016 15:54:01
In reality we should be wishing all Scottish teams including Celtic the best in Europe remember there performances effect our coefficient. European football is embarrassing for us as a country we can't qualify at club or international level.

23 Jul 2016 08:24:19
Recbob, we didn't go down we started again. A man of your intelligence must know there is no mechanism in Scottish football for demoting a club from being 2nd in the top tier to the bottom league.

21 Jul 2016 21:20:58
Checked in on the Hearts game and nobody in their right mind can honestly believe they are competition. I'm a patient guy but feel like strangling these people for their own benefit at times! Embarrassing is an understatement, the sooner we can get back there and attempt to rectify the coefficient mess that Celtic and co have damaged severely in our absence. Rant over.

{Ed039's Note - The coefficient was poor before hand)

22 Jul 2016 00:15:07
What do you mean Celtic and co, what makes u think we will do any better, these games come to soon for clubs in Scotland, it's not easy for our clubs to get to the groups in Europe now, everything is stacked against us, and it will only get harder if the big leagues get their wish, it's not a crime to take off the blue glasses.

22 Jul 2016 01:25:16
Listen I'm agreeing that Scottish football results in Europe has shown us up for the poor standard that we find ourselves in however talk of rangers getting in to make the co efficient improve is a bit airy fairy. we ain't played in the top league yet and when we last played in Europe did we not get put out by "small" teams as well. I know it's different now team management etc but you can't make statements saying these teams are embarrassing rangers will improve the co efficient when were back without a crystal ball your talking nonsense it's red faces all round for these Scottish teams but let's focus on rangers this year and if they do qualify for Europe anf pick up some results then we can make statements.

22 Jul 2016 02:15:17
Morning all.
Another bad night for Scottish football. Hibs and hearts out straight away, only the sheep doing the job. Forget Celtic, they've got their own problems.
I disagree that qualifiers come too soon. These players are professional footballers. They are (or should be) in top condition for pre season. They or their manager have let's this happen or their just not good enough.
I'd bet my last penny Rangers would have done better.
The coefficient was never as bad as it is now when we were in Europe.
Next year will be different.

21 Jul 2016 20:30:17
LifelongGer, not asking here to argue mate but if you don't mind me asking by you stating you work in the commercial department which I don't doubt for a minute, am I correct in assuming that we won't be leaving puma and going with under armour as our new kit makers going by your answer to my post when I stated I had heard we were, I would like to ask your good self who is most likely to be our new kit makers then as you will without doubt have a good idea and info on this?

{Ed039's Note - I smell sh**e)

21 Jul 2016 20:52:11
I also heard a rumour about under armour having talks with rangers.

21 Jul 2016 22:11:10
I also heard a rumour mike ashley has pretty water tight contracts for thr next 6-7 years just because you don't like them and think they are unfair doesn't mean they will simply be torn up. Life ain't fair like that! going to end in more court room dramas me thinks.

21 Jul 2016 22:15:48
I would doubt he works for rangers commercial. If rangers are in discussion with any sports brand there is only a small amount of people that would know about it.

{Ed039's Note - That's why I smell sh**e, only top reps would be in on those discussions and I doubt they would risk their salaries posting about it on forums)

22 Jul 2016 06:14:53
Yes ed, I agree that lifelongGer doesn't work for rangers commercial and its funny how there's been no response to my original post whatsoever.

21 Jul 2016 19:48:29
Tav***.

21 Jul 2016 19:48:20
Tab signs new 1 year extension! Delighted!

21 Jul 2016 18:11:13
Hopefully Clint Hill can establish himself in defence alongside a new centre half.

We can show loyalty to the players who got us back to the top flight, but only if they're good enough.

Kiernan and Wilson aren't. As for giving them a chance, both had their chance for a full season in the Championship and this is a step up.

No surprise Keirnan got a new contract. Don't want him leaving on a free. But does that make him good enough for 55?

21 Jul 2016 19:08:45
Kiernan's had a few dodgy performances and prone to giving away needless free kicks. I think Wilson's a good player and gets a lot of unfair criticism here. He gets it right 9 times out of 10 but gets hammered for that one. The midfield and forwards get away with murder by comparison.

21 Jul 2016 19:14:17
I don't think they can play together in this league. I recon Wilson and Rob need that older head alongside to guide them I think they both might mature well in the next 2 years with Hill or whoever MW brings in. Mariappa would be great. That would give us two experienced guys to switch in and out with Rob and Wilson. Doesn't look likely to happen though.

21 Jul 2016 19:46:20
Yeah I feel Wilson is overlooked by certain people and I think we should give all our defenders a chance with a proper defensive mid with our style of play. Hodson looked good IMO do we make bad signings?

21 Jul 2016 21:05:59
Both wilson and kiernan shouldn't be regulars next season.

21 Jul 2016 22:34:42
Dunno who will be our starting cb's. Tho I did notice when Barton came on the other days he actually sat back to make a back 3 when attacking.

21 Jul 2016 17:07:56
All players being fit, what would your starting 11 be against Selik?

Gilks

Hodson
Crooks
Hill
Wallace

Barton
Halliday
Kranky

McKay
Waggy
Forrester

I have left Tav out as we want to be rock solid at the back and I would play crooks and hill at CB due to physical nature, so we don't get bullied.

In the middle Halliday and Barton the muscle and Kranky the Flair

Up top we have so many choices, but with these 3 we get mixture of pace power skill.

What team would you fellow bears play?

21 Jul 2016 17:19:13
The game is too far away M3LVO, so not only injuries to take into consideration, we have how players settle in, how they gel and possible new signings. Cheers mate.

21 Jul 2016 17:43:25
For me:-
Foderingham

Tavernier
Crooks (Have to see him first though)
Hill
Wallace (C)

Barton
Windass
Kranjcar

Waghorn
Miller (or striker we're yet to sign)
McKay.

21 Jul 2016 17:52:03
If Tav isn't playing RB he should be playing on the wing. Just look how many assists and he contributed last term. A lot of harsh criticism over a few dodgy defensive performances in a league we simply were not briefed to defend in. The guy played every minute and ran the flank in an utterly relentless manner all season and for that alone he deserves a lot of credit! This year we will need to defend as a team, and consequently it will be addressed tactically so let's judge these guys on the future and not the past.

21 Jul 2016 18:51:01
Hopefully rossiter will make the starting 11.looks quality from what I have seen of him playing for england.

21 Jul 2016 19:00:07
taverner is not a winger.

21 Jul 2016 19:21:41
Gilks. Far more commanding and organising of his defenders than Wes
Hodson Wilson Hill Waldo
Barton Crooks Rossiter
Nico Wags Windass/ Mckay

That's a big powerful team
Broony and Israeli Broony would be sh1tting it facing that midfield

Forrester Kenny Holt Halliday
Tav Dodoo
Strong bench too.

21 Jul 2016 21:14:09
Foderingham

Tavenier
Kiernan
Hill
Wallace

Barton
Halliday
Holt

Windass
Waghorn
McKay.

{Ed039's Note - No Kranjcar or Forrester? I don't think Halliday will be a regular this season, he will be a decent player to do a job in various positions but for me he doesn't start)

21 Jul 2016 23:08:32
O'hallaran.? Needs to be part of our squad. huge potential from this lad when part of quality team.

21 Jul 2016 13:37:24
Any more transfer rumours regarding a center back maybe another striker bears.

21 Jul 2016 13:47:07
Heard David Wheater being mentioned and Izzy Brown was an earlier rumour, but on loan obviously.

21 Jul 2016 14:13:28
David Wheater is actually out of contract. I'd take him. Good age, doesn't take any mess.

21 Jul 2016 15:29:37
hi aarono i'm thinking seeing that your a dc fan maybe a profile pic of the blue beetle instead of the green arrow might be more fitting on this site lmao.

21 Jul 2016 16:19:06
There is actually no place for comic book related bigotry on this site. lol :p.

21 Jul 2016 23:02:34
Hi Fellow Bears, the future certainly seems bright. However, one thing that shocks me when i read team selections etc is very few ever mention O'Hallaran in starting 11 or even the bench. I really rate this lad and was very happy that we secured his services. Is it because he got very few chances due to being cup tied etc after signing last season that people seem to forget.? Am I the only one that rates his ability. along with management team obviously or they wouldn't have signed him.? Just an observation guys. If you look through other posts you will see what I mean. Roll on start of season.

22 Jul 2016 14:45:12
Think David Wheater is the kind of CB we should be looking at, plenty experience down south and out of contract. 29 years old big no no nonsence defender. Salary should not be an issue as he passed up on 10k bonus at the end of season to play for Bolton.

21 Jul 2016 12:34:25
Anyone know when Crooks is going to be fit?

21 Jul 2016 12:44:37
Warburton said 3/ 4 weeks.

21 Jul 2016 13:41:11
Really excited for this guy, Accrington Stanley fans I know where more disappointed with losing him than windass, not heard a bad word said about the guys ability.

21 Jul 2016 13:50:32
He's 6,4. Might end up being one of our best signings.

Doubt we'll play him out of position at centre back. If all else fails, I'm sure Warburton will get a defender in on loan from Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea.

21 Jul 2016 14:21:48
I agree, I see him playing midfield predominantly, with the occasional outing at CB or RB depending on player injuries or form. I'd imagine Crooks, Rossiter and Kranjcar will all interchange between starting and coming on after 60 minutes through the course of the season. Barton will most likely be the regular starter in midfield, with Holt and Halliday playing a bit less but still getting a look in. Windass will play between the 3 positions behind the striker.

Warbs will have to rotate and find some kind of balance to keep all these players happy, but I think it can be done. I agree with an earlier post that signing 1 more striker might be 1 too far, sometimes its wiser to stop rather than go that 1 extra that can upset the harmony of the squad. We need 1 more CB and I'd be happy with that.

21 Jul 2016 14:47:31
That's the beauty of our squad, there's so many variations that it's impossible to pick a starting 11 without leaving out genuine quality. It's going to be a nightmare for opposing managers to line up a team against us when everyone's fit, they'll have no chance of guessing who's going to be starting week in week out. From what I've seen so far mines would be
Fod
Tav Hill Wilson Wallace
Barton
Rossiter Kranjcar
Windass Waggy McKay

The fact we would then have Miller, Holt, Halliday, MOH, Forrester, Dodoo, Hodson, Kiernan, Crooks, Gilks etc on the bench makes me believe we are genuine title contenders. You could play the bench and beat most SPFL teams with that.
Rossiter is in based on what I've seen of him in a Liverpool and England jersey. I also understand Hill and Wilson are both left sided and I'd love Marriapa to be in beside Wilson instead, if that happens. Don't think we need another Striker unless he's better than what we have.

21 Jul 2016 15:00:18
Tell you what lads, it's great to be in a position where the manager has a headache to select his best team as I feel for the first time in a long time we have a healthy competition for places. More so in midfield and the attacking positions but add one more defender of real quality and we will be in a great position. Can't remember the last time we were able to say that about our team.

21 Jul 2016 11:07:20
Will be interesting to see CB partnership tomorrow night. Would like to see Hill with Wilson this time. Have heard positive comments on how Hill engaged in lots of communication with RK on Tuesday.

21 Jul 2016 13:01:15
yip he was shouting a lot but had literally no defending to do so still to see if he can defend aswell as he comunicates.

21 Jul 2016 14:27:55
I know you see two right footed CB's playing together regularly but there is something about the idea of two left footed CB's playing together that just doesn't sit right with me. I know it's probably a stupid thing that annoys me but it does.

Maybe its because LCB's are rarer and if a team has one, they always seem to play LCB alongside a RCB. It shouldn't make a massive difference which side of defence you play but some players seem to find it really uncomfortable trying to adapt to things they are not used to.

22 Jul 2016 17:02:17
I'd like to see big Wallace given a rest tonight, could then put Hodson out there at LB to see how he does although the opposition isn't exactly a huge test! Regarding the LB position we could giv it to Hallidy and keep Hodson at RB, any ways whatever Warbs does I think we need to establish cover for Wallace. I've got a feeling that Warbs may have two squads in mind, sort of thinking if we were in Europe and having a domestic squad and Euro squad but instead having one team for the likes of the tic Hearts Aberdeen, whoever is playing really well at the time. I think Hill will be first choice same as Barton and Nico but benched when up against the weaker teams, still unsure about who gets the Keepers top this season but whoever is back up should get to play in the Lge cup comp although I know that we currently are trying to establish that this season but in future imo that should be the case u see a lot of top clubs doing this and I'm sure Smith done it as well as giving the comp to McCoist to manage. At present my starting 11 would be

Gills/ Fods

Tav
Kiernan/ Crooks
Hill
Wallace

Barton
Rossiter
Krankjar

O'Hallaran
Waghorn
Dodoo

Really think Dodoo will smash it up here!

21 Jul 2016 01:36:36
Warb15. Keep posting mate. I don't post often but you seem to right 90% of the time mate. Your kit info to me sounds genuine pal.

21 Jul 2016 05:20:14
Cheers warbtheone much appreciated mate, what king cooper can't seem to understand is that this facility we use is a rumours/ banter page to pass on info among all fellow bears to what we've heard and that's all I've certainly done, ie. passing on info that I've heard or been told which I would logically have thought that this is all about, I've certainly never made anything up.

21 Jul 2016 08:20:16
Warb 15.i have been on this site for around 3 years. your definetly at the high end of correct rumours. so keep up the good work. the underarmour theory i heard about 4 month ago on financial site. may have been yourself or bigwull. the talking is being done on the park, so i don't post on things that are taking care of themselves. its the ins and outs of that fatman that grips my attention. the quicker he's gone the better. wee question#why hasn't ashley took us to court? been quick enough in the past. is it because he dosent want the details of the deal made public?

21 Jul 2016 12:53:27
Yeah warbs, I agree this is a rumours page, and since iv been on here warbs15 has been a good source of information, just keep posting and don't worry about the haters, maybe they don't understand the point of a rumour site, not the rangers fact/ banter page.

21 Jul 2016 12:56:47
Cheers for that laudrup22,good man.

21 Jul 2016 14:52:03
To people who don't want to hear Rumours my advice would be find another site, as that's what this ones for. W15 I haven't always agreed with everything you've said but that's the point anyway, I have enjoyed reading your posts all the same. Keep it up mate and when another one of yours come good, simply gloat!

21 Jul 2016 15:03:10
I enjoy your posts Warbs15, and like you say you've been bang on sometimes and off the mark others but at least you admit that mate. It is a rumours page after all.

21 Jul 2016 16:40:11
Warb15

Agree with Warbtheone - I appreciate your posts as well.

You're right it is a rumour / banter site not a "fact" site. You don't need to defend yours posts.

20 Jul 2016 23:26:32
31 yr old german striker mario gomez not returning to besiktas on loan from fiorentina due to political unrest in turkey 28 goals in 41 games in turkish league last season anyboy think worth a try rangers getting him on a loan give us a different option especially with warbs looking for another CF . think his wages would be too much though.

21 Jul 2016 05:33:40
He'd be some signing but I agree that he would be out of our wage bracket. However I thought the same about Barton and Kranj!

21 Jul 2016 08:01:57
come on this is a guy who just played at the euros, if we were to sign him I'd eat my magic hat.

21 Jul 2016 10:38:46
Would really love this guy at Ibrox, I know it's a longshot. His stats are brilliant 138 goals in 259 games. Don't know what weekly wage he is on a Fiorentina but to get him on loan and pay a fraction of his wages would be amazing.

21 Jul 2016 11:17:48
Gomez has always been one of my favourite strikers and could never understand why a team in the epl never signed him. if rangers could get him on loan it would make my life never mind my day. Long shot though.

21 Jul 2016 12:48:09
think about it though i'd be surprised if he was on anything less that 60K a week.

21 Jul 2016 14:14:55
Does anyone know if we got Gomez on loan would his club pay the majority of his wages and we paid like 25%. If Dunfermlineloyal is correct in saying 60k a week then 15k is our payment.
Only a thought cause he'd score for fun in SPL. Correction to previous post his entire performance data is 472 games, 277 goals and 62 assists.

20 Jul 2016 22:45:22
Was in the Copland front last night and heard more communication between gilks and hill in the first half than I heard of Kiernan and Wilson all last season. Hill will do ok for us this season. We need cover for Wallace because if he picks up an injury we will end up playing someone out of position which I had enough of with previous management. Joe dodoo has been signed to play otherwise he would be putting him out on loan as that's why he is doing with the other younger players.

21 Jul 2016 05:35:08
I believe that Hodson is wing back cover in general and worse case Halliday spent 4 seasons as a left back in the championship (for Middlesborough i believe? ) So I have no concerns there.

21 Jul 2016 11:11:53
I was at the game too and heard the communication from hill which was great we need that organisation in defence however hills problem is he is so slow due to age that could be a problem for us against counter attacking teams 1v1 etc.
