Just a question for you fellow fans out there who do u think will drop out the starting 11 for the new players comming in if we buy 2 in january would be a hard decision going with there positions ie midfield and striker just wanted to know your thoughts on that.

21 Jan 2016 23:16:36
Up top is a must so Kenny will drop although been on form, tbh i also think halliday really lost his form for a while and reckon it could be him, main thing though people will start to fight for places, can't wait to get to the point of not knowing who to drop and thinking any sub coming on will do the buisness.

22 Jan 2016 05:29:15
Halliday? Really? Awaaaay.

21 Jan 2016 19:33:27
doe`s anybody else think the clubs just trying to imitate Celtics business model, but on a lower scale.
if you do, i think you`ll agree the board not very good at it.
if your trying to take other clubs best players at least make them a decent offer.
Or is it all a bluff to keep the hat on board.

21 Jan 2016 22:06:26
Nope. I think they are trying to create a Rangers model in line with our clear financial restrictions. And it's looking good thus far.

21 Jan 2016 23:23:14
Getting a bit boring now regarding the transfer scene, let's wait till the window shuts and see what happens, hopefully the positives will outdo the negatives .
I personally have faith but only time will tell .
But remember one thing Rome wasn't built in a day .
Too many fans are impatient, we will go up, then you will see the investment from outside, have faith,

I believe that we will win this league as champions.
I might be known as Mr Negative, as far as king is concerned, but we have a good manager and a team way beyond hibs and falkirk. Mr Warburton and his staff are working miracles on a tight budget. I just wish my fellow fans would waken up and see what is going on. We are up against the 8-ball, financially, and false promises from our chairmen does not help. We need honesty as we have put our money into the pot, so back it up or let someone else takes the reigns.
The drift of posts on here are now going down " these players are not worth the money" line. Maybe so, but the sales of red herrings must be through the roof.

21 Jan 2016 22:12:14
DK is full of bluster and I would rather he conducted himself with a little more subtlety - but other than that I think the Board is doing a solid job under what must be exceptionally difficult circumstances.

21 Jan 2016 17:47:17
Expect interest in Diagouraga And O'Halloran to cool. clearly MW has an alternative valuation for these players rather than their asking price! I expect he is on the money too! Cheaper option both short and long-term is to bring in the lads from Accrington now as would cost very little and they basically play is the same position as the two we're linked with. MW will do the smart thing once again!

21 Jan 2016 18:42:09
If the boys are ready to play for rangers and hit the ground running, then that makes perfect sence! I'd like to see them play and have been quietly excited about them coming. Fingers crossed if they are our "plan b" that we haven't burnt any bridges with their club as they seemed to spit the dummy and chuck all their toys oot lol.

21 Jan 2016 19:33:08
It's no happening u can forget it lads, we won't see the AS lads till the summer, so if it's not OH and the lad fae Brentford it'll be another from the scouting team I would suggest. I think we will get OH anyway but we could win this league without anymore signings as long as we retain.

21 Jan 2016 19:48:24
I wouldn't bet on it waggy, the press and us haven't a clue now to which 2 players warbs says he's very close to signing before monday, I certainly wouldn't rule out the accrington stanley lads ie. windas and crooks, the magic hat has got us all guessing and good on him, professionally keeping his cards close to his chest the way it should be done!

21 Jan 2016 20:07:29
Bit late with the post looks like interest in ohalloran and diagouraga cooled days ago the only ones not linking this is the press and that's because they have no clue what's happening at Ibrox.

21 Jan 2016 15:35:05
Why buy players for half a million in the second tier of Scottish football its business suicide the days of spending millions in a transfer window are gone we have to be smart with our money not like we have been in the past its about building a strong team that will not cost much and can sell on for a rich profit and I believe there are at least 4 players that have come that we could make millions from the way Warburton has set out and I think hibs need to pay attention to Falkirk rather than watch what we do.

21 Jan 2016 17:52:47
So with that business model, why not just support Hamilton? It's about winning and watching great football and playing against the best. I don't follow Rangers because they can turn over a handsome profit on players.

If you're really keen on the balance sheet then getting out of this league, winning the SPL and qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League is where the real money is.

21 Jan 2016 18:50:53
Well said Kfraser rapidly becoming a joke. Bid ridiculous low bids and do nothing magic plan that.

21 Jan 2016 18:55:46
May as well supper Hamilton?
What drivel!
I don't support Rangers because they can pay out more money or because they were top of the league. I support them because they are my team. My local team. The team I grew up surrounded by as a youth. The team I love.
The OP only said no point in spending millions to win this league and he is right.
Yes we should be competing with (and beating) Celtic. Next Season. We should spend more then.
We will sell some players during this time hopefully for 7 figure sums.
Did you go and support Hamilton when we sold Boumsong for 8 mill? I thought he was great to watch and a smart piece of business. More of the same please.

21 Jan 2016 20:47:48
Boumsong, the beginning of the end that deal.

22 Jan 2016 00:21:25
Eh? Making an unbelievable profit on a player in 6 months? How was that the beginning of the end?

21 Jan 2016 15:01:31
I think we should keep Clark, when he come off the bench, he always wanted ball.

21 Jan 2016 16:09:41
He cannot cut the mustard mate!

21 Jan 2016 16:34:22
We need Clark, Law, Sheilds, and Temps replaced with better players that are not on the stupid money they 4 are on.

21 Jan 2016 17:17:59
Clark isn't the answer it's blatantly obvious he isn't good enough. His level is league 1.

21 Jan 2016 17:45:16
cant believe people think clark, law, temps and shiels are going to cut it in the spl and Europe when they can't against part time teams.

21 Jan 2016 18:52:41
Eh Law did cut it in the spl. Its where we bought him.

21 Jan 2016 19:02:24
Dean shiels was nominated for player of the year in spl when at Kilmarnock along with Steve Davis. So he must of done ok in the spl!

21 Jan 2016 22:00:31
Ok so we are basing 1 good season how many years ago in the spl he's done very little for us since he signed. As for law he's a average player and was non existent last season. is that what we need to challenge for the title and a crack at Europe.

21 Jan 2016 22:35:09
Average player that's transformed our form right now? Both Shields and Law are above average players in the SPL arena. Perhaps that's why we bought them. Don't remember any outcry when they were signed. And half the team were non existent last season funny how Laws still here eh.

21 Jan 2016 23:34:32
He's here because he's still under contract mate.

22 Jan 2016 00:28:21
I've always thought Dean Shiels was a quality player. Another one wasted by Ally and never given a chance. Law has done really well since MW came in. Both are 100% top flight quality. Clark, no sorry, and Temps would have been decent but cannot stay fit. Don't know anything about contracts and who's on whatever but I trust MW to make the right decision at the right time.

21 Jan 2016 14:58:42
Listen DK and 3bears have got into office n realize the club can't be run the way it used to be but that doesn't mean we can't be competitive with east end mob by being smart in the transfer market and using their big investment with the club on the longer term building the club back up over time, I believe we will get promoted this season and trusting in the new management team without spending a fortune in the summer I believe we can challenge for the premiership 1st year back than build season after season untill once again we are winning the league every other year n playing in champions league WATP.

21 Jan 2016 19:03:23
Realistically its achievable we have the second biggest budget in Scotland. Celtic have not been as smart as they could have been in their transfer dealings in the last few years. If we sign good young players that are hungry it will make the difference. That and the coaching staff. Maybe once we are generating money from merchandise and player sales we can afford buy the odd marquee signing ie a young player that is proven rather than lost their way a bit. I think sustainability is key for us going forward and it should be never taken for granted again.

21 Jan 2016 14:37:00
I'm in no way saying anything about mw he is doing a great job far better than mccoist was doing on and off the park, I just don't think there is any money to buy players over half a million, the board has just took out another loan to pay off Ashley and the rest to see us through the season if there is money apparently there where is it all it seems to me is we take out loans pay them back that's all we've been doing for the last few years.

21 Jan 2016 14:44:52
These are loans that aren't going to be paid back though, well not anytime soon, we are going to be in debt to the 3 bears rather than a bank or Ashley.

21 Jan 2016 15:54:17
These so called loans are from the directors to the company, a separate business entity from the directors as individuals. I doubt that they will be looking for a return in the short term and once the company is back trading shares properly then the stock of the club will grow. Warburton has done brilliantly and is so professional, unlike Delia across in the east who is banging on about the freak 8-1 against Hamilton.

21 Jan 2016 10:23:53
I've been reading all the post about the players we are trying sign before the window shuts at the end of the month, in my opinion I don't think it will happen as we don't have the money to up the bids our signing policy is now either on a free or loan or a player in the quarter million pound mark and that's fact, I might be proved wrong, we will see I suppose by the end of the month if Dave King or who ever is putting the cash up comes good.

21 Jan 2016 13:28:42
why would MW be targeting players at the half million mark if that was the case, you would be implying that he is telling the fans bare face lies. I strongly doubt this, the man seems 100% genuine.
I get the feeling he could reiterate the fact that he is negotiating to get the right price for his targets till he's blue in the face and some people would still not get the message. The mind boggles.

21 Jan 2016 13:59:24
I don't think he's calling mw a liar it seems to me he believes he's not going to be backed enough by board to secure the players and if they don't secure them a think that maybe the case but time will tell I think we will get ohalloron in this window the other boy not to sure but fingers crossed!

21 Jan 2016 14:05:54
"and that's fact". "I might be proved wrong"
Which is it?

21 Jan 2016 15:12:54
My point is surely MW knows how much he has to spend, if he is going in for players that he knows he can't afford just to appease the fans then he is in fact lying to us, which I don't for a second believe he is doing. He has stated time and time again unless he sees value he will not be purchasing anyone. Nothing to do with the Chairman.
I think if you are the Rangers Board and your manager is telling you he needs million pound players to get out this league then you would have to question his ability and judgement. We only need to look at the last regime/manager to see this is not the way to escape out the lower league's.
Every player he has brought in to any club he has managed has been cheap, young and with a good sell on value after he has improved them. It's simply the way he does his business, when he starts coming out and saying the Board have not backed him then start to worry. I don't think for a moment he would have brought Mcparland up from England (probably on a decent wage himself due to his pedigree) if he thought there were no funds available. And tying down players on improved deals who are already under contract is not the actions of a club going under. Some people just love the drama.

21 Jan 2016 11:34:58
Our manager said in the most recent interview, that our squad is lean and by the way he talks, thinks it's a little too lean. This doesn't mean he will over pay for any player though.

We are not going to be extorted by any club. Our boss has sense.

I don't think O Halloran and Diagouraga are our only targets. The odds are we will get them in before the next game but if we don't there is no issue. Players will be signed before the window closes.

I am personally excited if MW has someone else up his sleeve instead of O Halloran.

21 Jan 2016 12:03:36
So the other day we are told two deals done this week. Now we are being told "not going to panic buy" which means those two deals are now off and we won't be signing Anyone else during this window and we will be fobbed off with we couldn't get the guys we wanted i e the sains boy and Brentford boy so we didn't buy at all. Just don't understand why we are going through the whole Scott Allen saga again. If the board want bums on seats next season they have to build a decent squad this window and a few good quality players in the summer imo.

21 Jan 2016 12:28:31
did you read the Daily Rebel for that "quote", Warburton was asked what will happen if you don't get your transfer targets, and all he said was we won't panic buy. there is still 10 days and 11 hours at this moment until the window closes. chill the hell out, it's about a good deal on both sides. for years Scottish football benefitted from our purchases from other clubs, most of those purchases realistically where over priced, horrifically. I for one am glad we are not putting out the cash that other clubs want us to, however taking our own valuation of the worth of a player.

21 Jan 2016 12:03:30
Ok so the hat says he hopes by Monday for signings, something tells me that it won't be the players we think, been rumbling on for too long.

Also I know he said happy with squad that we got but if waggy got injured we got miller and clark and what an U20 unproven at the level as our Back up! We need a striker 100%, I got a feeling it will be this Latvian boy and O'Hal will be bid in the summer.

And for those that think that Stokes will not make a big impact or much of a difference for Hibs, have a word with yourself. If he is fit and getting the games him and Cummings up front will be a good partnership, they will rip teams apart, am just glad they only have him from End of Jan till May as if they had them both from start of season we would not have 5 point Gap!

21 Jan 2016 12:23:31
Nicky Clark and Miller have both scored when given the chance this season. A striker is not necessary just now, once we go up we will sign another forward.

21 Jan 2016 08:10:52
Got to be patient with our management team of warbs and weir, we'll sign players before the transfer window closes I've got no doubt about it, in saying that hypothetical speaking if we didn't for various reasons then trust our manager when he states our current squad has more than enough to win the league title, we've also got to remember that money has been layed out here on improved contract extensions for halliday, holt and mckay which we should be very pleased about, patience fellow bears, in warbs we trust! Very confident myself that we'll win the league with a wee bit to spare imo.

21 Jan 2016 09:27:40
Agreed. I don't like how it's dragging on however, if it ain't for us, it ain't for us. I trust The Hat and all he does. If he says move on, t hen that's what we do. We will win this league at a canter and next season is when the real test begins.
Keep the faith fellow bears.

21 Jan 2016 10:34:44
I agree also, no point in paying over the odds for players just for the sake of it, buy shrewdly and sell at a profit needs to be the way forward.

I think we have enough in the squad (supplemented by the youth teams) to win us the league.

21 Jan 2016 10:50:08
i Agree with above post the squad will win the the league and do trust the manager the problem is not with the manager for me it is with all these promises our chairman made to us he is only getting away with not fulfilling any of these at the moment due to our manager doing a great job all the players we bought in the summer where on the fringes of there teams now we are still bidding the same amounts for first team regulars and important players for there teamsthis is where the problem lies and why you are not going get them for 200k like waggy tav keirnan we all no this window is not great to buy players but Warburton has identified two now our chairman should back him the boy from Brentford is worth pushing boat out to get him in ohallarn warburton must see something in him hopefully our club and chairman are just been clever and keeping our money so we can sign players in the summer instead this will be the window king will have to step forward with funds and come good on all those promises.

21 Jan 2016 13:37:59
I think the Board are acting the correct way a Board should be acting in the second tier of Scottish football. Paying over 1/2 million for players in this league is crazy, we are 5 points clear after spending about 1 million on an entire team. Get real people, the proper rebuilding starts in the summer.
As for Stokes, I highly doubt a half fit, over the hill Celtic reject with possibly the worst attitude in Scottish football is really that much to worry about. Our team is firing on all cylinders again. We could easily go on another run and put Hibs out their misery early, they managed it and we have played them off the park every game this season.

21 Jan 2016 14:58:07
recbob we hibs falkirk can all easily go on a run of wins draws or losses so you think we just ignore all the promises our chairman made and hope that they get there act together and back our manager and come good on those promises he made look where ignoring warning signs have got us before I hope for the sake of my football club that king proves us all wrong in the summer
only reason folk are not on hear screaming for investment in the team is due to our manager doing a fantastic job flip this around and if we where 5 point behind you bet most fans would want investment if wasn't for Warburton weir half these players wouldn't have came to rangers and we wouldn't be playing this kind of exciting football under mccalll no disrespect to him so far its down to weir and Warburton and there staff.

21 Jan 2016 16:23:04
read my comment again, we are 5 points clear after spending next to nothing to build an entire team. Why pay over the odds to appease some narrow minded fans who think King meant he was going to spend 30million in the second tier of Scottish football.
He has brought in a very well respected management team, who could have easily have made more money and had more money to spend had they went elsewhere. He has brought in a very highly regarded Scout with EPL experience. He has added the backroom staff (nutritionists, analysis etc. ) . He has backed the management in their targets up to now (Allan was never coming we offered more than Celtic) . Let's see what happens in the next 10 days before we get our little knickers in a twist please.

21 Jan 2016 22:05:21
king has promised numerous things not just 30 million so far he has paid back loan landed us some more legal bills due to has silly statements in the press and got some investors on side that gave us another loan he got us the manager all give i'm that one we all wanted from day one could have been so different if we had got promoted as they where after some else that was a lucky brake for us all current staff only came due to Warburton being hear some players and staff have stated this already 1 million pound for good dm we clearly need is good business am no asking for 30 million pound spent this window or any other one or two quality players would be nice tho and to get them you have to pay going rate it looking more likely crooks and windas will come in this window if people think the boy from Brentford ain't worth 1 million then the must no watch much football.
