another strange statement -
Warb says long term deals are a thing of the past? s what does he call O'Hallorans deal then? and Windass/ Crooks deals?

22 Feb 2016 09:33:09
I missed that bill, what did the gaffer say.

22 Feb 2016 14:24:18
Dwlboy - Warbs has stated he wants to keep all his players on short contracts to keep them "hungry" and said "long contracts at Rangers are a thing of the past "

22 Feb 2016 15:37:25
Maybe that will quell some of the unrest felt on this site when 'traitorous' Barrie McKay was castigated for signing a shorter deal. According to some Barrie is trying to engineer a move away soon. And they call the other lot paranoid.

21 Feb 2016 21:22:12
i think we may have created a monster with our talk about plastic pitches?
we don't generally play well on them yet we have them at Murray Park.

I think the tactical game needs to change on those pitches, a different formation maybe from what we do on grass.

Anyway, on a more positive note, 3 more points and 11 games to go.

At the moment I'd take playing badly and winning 1-0 any day over playing brilliantly and losing 0-1.

21 Feb 2016 22:05:21
They don't train on them every day just when the grass is too wet, or to get ready for a plastic pitch game.

22 Feb 2016 07:38:06
Bongo is right there btw.

22 Feb 2016 09:35:42
The plastic pitches are here to stay, what's a bit annoying is that their not all the same standard, I think if at least they were all of the same quality then that would be half the battle.

22 Feb 2016 14:30:50
i agree if they were all of the same standard it wouldn't be such a problem, perhaps our so called beaks at the SPFL should set up an investigation into the quality and stipulate that a specific type is the only one acceptable. Then it would be more acceptable all round, and perhaps less likely to cause injuries, which may well be caused BECAUSE each ground is of a different type?

21 Feb 2016 13:11:45
Interesting to here Warbs reason for Barrie only signing a one year extension, makes a lot of sense.

21 Feb 2016 21:07:05
What was the reason seaofibrox I missed it?

21 Feb 2016 21:29:00
To keep the player hungry to earn a new deal.

21 Feb 2016 22:07:35
It also means if he doesn't re- sign we have to sell him at the end of the 2016-17 season to make money.

21 Feb 2016 22:34:48
To keep the player hungry, are supporters really believing this ballacks, what's to stop the boy playing great and signing elsewhere, I know no one is asking me but, hes purely financially only signing him do the year, and any other excuse is a bare faced lie.

21 Feb 2016 19:29:20
Halliday decent enough player but will be a squad player next season.

21 Feb 2016 20:06:08
Gave ball away in last minute almost cost us, plus not a lot of pace.

21 Feb 2016 22:08:41
Thought him and Tav were poor today, McKay was the best player on the park today!

21 Feb 2016 22:43:39
Thought against better opposition Kiernan's slack play would have cost us the game. Missed Law again. Wee Barry was excellent and Miller showed why he is still miles better than Clark.

22 Feb 2016 09:05:07
I would play Law, Halliday and Holt in midfield.
Law gives us an option both offensively and defensively and scores the odd goal.
Would start Law in the next game and Miller.

21 Feb 2016 18:55:13
Clark just needs games 😆.

21 Feb 2016 19:24:51
He has his chance and he needs to take it. He should be spending 24 hours a day, six days a week practicing and improving his game. This is the best opportunity he will ever have to prove that he merits playing for Rangers.

21 Feb 2016 21:38:52
Clark is nowhere near good enough and will not be at us next season irrespective of his winner at killie other night the boy just doesn't have it end off.

21 Feb 2016 18:40:04
Before everyone starts moaning saying Clark is not the answer as he never scored today, how many did the other 2 forwards that started today score.

21 Feb 2016 19:26:02
The two other strikers were not designated as target men which is what Clark purports to be. I would like to think that he can show to be a two or three goals a game striker but I just don't see it!

21 Feb 2016 18:55:19
q o s had 8 to 9 in the box then hit on the break, not easy to break down.

21 Feb 2016 20:03:23
Two or three goals a game? High expectations much.

21 Feb 2016 20:17:36
clark is not a target man he is a chance taker 41 goals for queens in 46 games he did not get many chances today our big problem is both fullbacks have went off the boil and are being better marked.

21 Feb 2016 22:46:45
Thought to a man we squandered nearly every opportunity by making the wrong decision. Should have passed but shot. Should have shot but passed. Frustrating to say the least. Miller showed ge is still the best we have.

21 Feb 2016 18:39:03
Team needs freshen up with the other players who sit on bench week in week out there's big big games coming up in next few weeks in which we need to kill these teams of quick so there's no slip ups winning games 1 nil not good enough.

21 Feb 2016 18:52:58
3 points mate job done was a bit nervy at the end but a would take 1.0 all the way to the end of season if it gets us promoted.

21 Feb 2016 18:13:14
hard to watch the day. probably the worst a have seen them play. we played better when we lost to St Johnstone. well below par but another 3 points in the bag. bring on the home games. be glad of a proper pitch for them to play on.

21 Feb 2016 19:21:08
Winning when playing badly wins leagues! In reality we haven't played well for weeks and the loss of Waghorn won't help but it is encouraging that we kept a clean sheet today. We just need to win this league, how we win it doesn't matter. MOH will take time to get used to the style of play and significantly better quality in attacking and defensive midfield as well as a top quality goal scorer will help us win the SPL when we return.

21 Feb 2016 18:08:08
Some players need to fight for there place then we might see a better team alol every game is a bonus on wards and upwards.

21 Feb 2016 18:00:30
Messy but successful.

How on earth did McKay get MoM?
His final balls were almost always poor, as bad as Tavernier crosses.

21 Feb 2016 18:12:59
Thought McKay was excellent today. Not much more to say really.

21 Feb 2016 18:16:07
our best player was foderingham not mckay.

21 Feb 2016 20:38:54
I can't understand the constant criticism of mckay on here. He was by far the best player on that park today. Fantastic first touch and close control, great pace, went past guys for fun centrally, rarely gave the ball away, great vision and eye of the needle balls to feet in a packed box. Yeah, he should have passed when we had a three on one and he got tackled, yeah he gave the ball away twice that I remember but he's still learning, give the kid a break and try supporting him. Otherwise, foderingham and Wilson were rock solid and constantly dug kiernan and tavernier out of the holes they repeatedly made for themselves. They'll both come good again though, everyone is entitled to a poor game here and there.

21 Feb 2016 20:58:19
Spart7. Spot on. I thought McKay was excellent today. He tore them apart on some occasions but his good work came to very little unfortunately.

21 Feb 2016 21:02:47
Yes spart7 barrie mckay gets a lot of unjustified, negative comments on here quite a bit and it is very unfair, he's still a young player who's continually being developed by our management team and although still not the finished article he will be a lot sooner than some of our fans think, imo barrie mckay will go on to be a great rangers player and in 3 or 4 years from now will go to england for a big transfer fee that's how highly I rate mckay, he's already a good player and has everything to make it really big in the game ie. great first touch with instant control, jet heeled pace, glides past opponents as if they're not there, what I will say as he needs to brush up on his final ball which he will do undoubtedly in the fullness of time, let's enjoy wee mckay while he plays for the glasgow rangers as he won't be playing for us forever!

21 Feb 2016 22:12:33
a musta been watching a different game, never mind. going past players for fun never seen much of tht from him the day. ohalloran did tht more than mckay the day. think ohalloran will b a class player for us when he gels and plays more with the team. a really like wee barrie just saying incase yous tht has your tongues tht far up his arse and can't say anything bad about him.

21 Feb 2016 22:50:39
Yep you were mate. He carried the ball more than anyone in the second half. Took responsibility for driving us forward when the rest of the midfield were invisible. How you can compare him to a keeper who made a couple of great saves beggars belief.

22 Feb 2016 06:54:08
if it wasn't for the keeper we woulda lost or drew enough said.

21 Feb 2016 17:58:40
Another win today and 8 points clear again. That'll do and what a goal from Kenny Miller. Hibs now play Morton on Tuesday night then two away games against Dumbarton and QOS whilst we have two home games against St Mirren and Raith Rovers. It will be interesting to see how the table looks once these games have been played. Goals still a problem even though Kenny Miller scored. With Waghorn injured and Hardie on loan (strange decision) what are our options?

21 Feb 2016 18:18:09
O'Halloran through the middle?

21 Feb 2016 17:18:53
Going to say this Halliday not the answer we need better in there I know he a fan but so a we all.

21 Feb 2016 17:35:51
It's not his preferred position to be fair to him. Nobody will tell me that nicky Clarke is the answer to replace waghorn.

21 Feb 2016 18:05:16
Foderingham, Wilson and Mackay were all excellent. Also if Clarke and King had taken their chances when they should have would have made watching a lot less nervous for us supporters. Michael O Halloran will get better as we go. Another game down another 3 points at a hard ground.

21 Feb 2016 18:21:30
Have we any more games on artificial grass this season? 2 home games coming up and hibs have 2 away games so hopefully they will drop a few points.

21 Feb 2016 15:05:43
uefa club co-efficient rankings out today have us at 269th. equal to Dundee United with Celtic 51st. IF and when we qualify for Europe we will be entering very very early in the competition. at a great disadvantage having to play quite a few qualifying rounds. thoughts?

21 Feb 2016 15:19:37
Not really a lot to think about pal. If that's where we are what you going to do?

21 Feb 2016 18:12:06
first of all we have to qualify for Europe
then we need fresh blood as most of the players
we have would not be good enough to compete in europe.

21 Feb 2016 19:28:18
We have to qualify for Europe in any event and on the plus side neither McCoist or Delia is our manager so we have every opportunity to progress!

I reckon Alloa will beat Hibs today and The Gers to open the gap even further.
I think Waggons injury is a blessing in disguise. Let's be honest he wastes an awful lot of opportunities and whoever steps in to take his place will be hungry and eager.
I can see a goal fest today. Here's hoping anyway.

21 Feb 2016 14:03:00
I've got admit I hate playing QOS away, always a tough game.
I think we'll scrape it though.

21 Feb 2016 14:19:38
Robbie73w I think your being a bit deluded with that post, noway alloa is going to beat Hibs and how can You say that that Wags injury is a blessing? please tell say you were joking, it may just cost us automatic promotion and you are saying it may be a blessing, waking up!

21 Feb 2016 14:37:35
Robbie73w. Hibs 2 up at half time.

21 Feb 2016 18:14:13
Got to admit Robbie u are right on the ball. Not. Correct me if I'm wrong u were the one who said waggy was mince? Agree he been off the boil for a few games but coulda done with him today. 3 points is all that matters.

21 Feb 2016 12:03:05
Surely the Rangers fighting fund should be spent on standing areas for Ibrox rather than a stand at Murray park?

21 Feb 2016 14:31:15
It would be brilliant to have a standing area at ibrox, it would certainly add to the atmosphere at the 'brox! As long as its safe I don't see why we can't have a standing area only in our stadium.

21 Feb 2016 09:05:05
I'm hearing Hibs fans celebrating Waghorn's injury as if they've just won the league. I believe O'Halloran will prove his worth and tear teams apart. Not scoring 20 goals but making them.

21 Feb 2016 10:56:55
Me too mate, I think the boy has a lot of skill, I know most Scottish youngsters, with a modicum of skill are basically on sale from day one, but MOH, given his background, could just be on his way legendary status at ibrox, I know that's a long way off and i'm hoping, but I justt feel he is a strong boy with great pace, which is the most important element of professional football nowadays, waggys done well for a boy with limited ability
Tommy.

21 Feb 2016 12:50:44
I live in Edinburgh and know a lot of hibees- haven't heard a single one talking about waghorns injury. They are too busy bragging about beating hearts.

As long as we keep winning then what ever they say or do doesn't matter.

21 Feb 2016 18:19:04
Waghorn= limited ability? that is the most ludicrous comment I've heard yet. Not an out n out scorer yes, off the boil the last 3 or 4 games yes, but limited ability? OMFG.

21 Feb 2016 18:25:04
i still think we care under pressure and hibs have a stronger squad we could not have made as many changes as them today and won we certainly had the hardest game today and it will be blow by blow to the end of the season.
