Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

21 Dec 2017 21:33:27
Although I am only 22 years old, I am old enough to have seen Rangers in some of their glory years and of course I know all about the History but boy, we are not being ran like the rangers in the past. I feel like most things associated with the club is almsot shambolic from the top of the board to the youth system. don't get me wrong, we have a fantastic set up at youth level but how many players have we produced that have then cemmented a place into the first team? The frustrating part is we have great players comnig through the ranks and we let them go for nothing for them to make a name for themselves at another club. There also seems to be a lack of respect and professionalism from the board and personally I don't think they have much of an idea what they are doing.

21 Dec 2017 20:50:16
Long time follower, first time post. I would like us to sign a new athletic and strong spine to the team. Strong ball winning center back, same presence in midfield and a strong mobile forward. It worked for souness. Look towards the african market for a balde, wanyama, cousin etc. Good potential future profit for the club as well.

I'm just going to repeat yesterday's rant on the financial pages for those that don't read it. To those who do I apologise for sounding like a broken record (please ignore) .

It's taken years to escape Ashley's clutches while he hoovered up all our merchandising profits. Scottish results in Europe mean the possibility of Champions League will disappear sooner than later. When it does the difference between finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd will be negligible and Ashley won't care finishing 2nd or 3rd forever.

We've been crucified and resurrected. We've had to endure half a decade of the worst football/ footballers any Rangers fan will ever have had to. We've seen a que of pantomime villains ride off into the sunset with bags of loot.

Finally the board are able to get fresh investment into the club and our merchandise profits should start increasing, people want to hand it back to one of the most evil men in the country due to impatience. It's unsustainable to pump millions into a loss making business. FFP is forcing clubs to live within their means, something we should have learned by now.

Mistakes have been made by the current board (Pedro being an obvious one), but they are fans and they do care. Be careful what you wish for this Christmas.

Keep Believing.

21 Dec 2017 20:31:56
nice post, dont want that fat slob anywhere near rangers ever again.

21 Dec 2017 20:54:42
Your right about Ashley but the way king is running the club isn't helping us long term. We're in a mess right now and its mostly due to the current board.

21 Dec 2017 22:26:05
Mike Ashley is not a bad guy. I have been at two charity functions he attended and contributed a hell of a lot of money on those occasions. He is a businessman - a clever one at that - so for all the hate he gets on here it should really be redirected to the idiocy that made the favourable deals with Mash holdings in the first place. It is so naive to blame Ashley for making money.

Ashley has sunk a hell of a lot of money into Newcastle. Yes he has had his trials and tribulations along with relegations and promotions but he has been burned financially with the volatility of the PL. He will walk away from Newcastle with a big fat loss made over the past decade.

If he is stupid enough to get involved with Rangers at the moment then fans should welcome the news. He is the only individual with any sort of significant finances and business sense who has shown even slight interest in the club. He wants success, to be a hero to fans and sadly that wasn’t the case at Newcastle but could be with a club who are within the scope of financial reality.

{Ed033's Note - C'mon, how much did M.A. pay you?

21 Dec 2017 21:13:58
Bigmarv. Totally 100% agree on wat u say mate! Any true bluenose who wants Ashley back IN ANY WAY needs a word wi themselves or their nearest psychiatrist and/ or is not a Bluenose to start wi! He's a blood sucking leech. look at Newcastle and their supporters for UNEQUIVOCAL proof of that! We will get back to top it will take time tho! Keep the Faith Bears altho the path is dark and dreary at times. WE ARE FOREVER IN ROYAL BLUE! Look at William Struths quote if u ever need reminding!

22 Dec 2017 00:49:22
Our finances worry me big Marv especially with King and Stewart Robertson both citing increased revenues from an extended run in Europa league as crucial to us getting a back breaking even. sorry I don’t buy that

Reason being, the abysmal Lux defeat aside, does anyone remember the teams we would have to have beaten in a qualifier just to get into Europa league?

AC Milan Brugges Marseilles Atletico Madrid Feberbache and Everton just to name a few

Sorry fellow bears that just isn't realistic

22 Dec 2017 01:23:25
Understandable to be worried Trev, as there will be a few more bumps in the road yet. I think talk of extended European runs is just them saying what some people want to hear. Ultimately we'll need a lucky draw but it wouldn't look too good coming out saying we have no hope of getting there. Still a long road ahead.

Keep Believing.

22 Dec 2017 01:28:27
Also, well said FIRB!

22 Dec 2017 13:23:10
Poseidon just pure nonsense on all levels fatman is out for fatman and nobody else

21 Dec 2017 18:55:52
Ed why don’t we have a vote who wants mike Ashley back see it on here regularly me I don’t want the sleazebag anywhere near Ibrox took long enough to get rid

{Ed033's Note -

Mike Ashley poll

21 Dec 2017 19:35:29
For the 15 people or 25% of folk that actualy want this fat mutant anywhere near our club, you are bonkers, this is not the answer. Must be a few smeltic fans on the wind up. Well to those smeltic fans I say this, My contact in the game has told me that Swansea have drawn up a shortlist and amongst others on the list they have contacted Brendan Rodgers agent about his availability so ha ha. say goodbye to your savour - your team peaked at tyncastle and you are on a downward spiral. We don't even have a manager and we are still in the title race lol.

22 Dec 2017 11:52:13
8 points behind with a youth coach as manager and a team full of duds against a team with the best manager in scotland, players that are being touted as £20million+ and have lost 1 game in 70. you have just taken the dilusion to a whole new level.

21 Dec 2017 17:55:11
Can I ask and see how many people on here would welcome a Mike Ashley take over at Rangers?

I'm not sure our board have the money for the investment of a club our size. I think it's a case of thank you for the mess and corruption you got us out off, away and make yourself some profit by selling rangers to someone that can actually invest heathly into the club.

21 Dec 2017 18:29:46
Considering Mike Ashley was pulling the strings to the mess and corruption you talk about I don't know why you'd bring him up. He is not interested in over investing just over eating.

21 Dec 2017 18:31:02
Not for me thanks.

21 Dec 2017 18:22:35
nobody with a brain

21 Dec 2017 19:32:52
No chance, he's barred from ibrox for life; well should be!

21 Dec 2017 19:43:35
Ashley prayed on us when we were weakest and did his best to milk the cub and the fan base dry.

The site of young mothers pushing their prams behind Bomber as they marched on Ibrox and donated what little hard earned money to the fighting fund will forever be printed in my memory as a truly dark day for the club I have proudly supported my entire life.

Ashley was pulling the strings for green and they would of both been happy to watch out club disappear into the dust if it made them both a quick buck.

The green/ Ashley days have been some of the most shameful, darkest and bleakest days in our proud clubs history. The clubs has been severely lacking integrity since Walter left and I value this a lot higher than whatever self intere, modest cash injection he might promise,

21 Dec 2017 20:42:00
Well said Dunc some people would sell their soul for the promise of some money don’t care where from me I’d rather stick with present board than let people like that little Tuesday anywhere near Ibrox.

21 Dec 2017 20:49:04
our size. yes years ago I would say our size. but now our team is in middle class. ( most of english lower leagues would tear us apart ) we may be the famous Glasgow Rangers. but at the moment we are nothing more than a mediocre team that can't compete in our own league. what chance is a take over going to happen. get real here fans. we will always play second fiddle to Celtic till we win the league and get to group stages of champions league. sorry for the dimness but I may be right here.

21 Dec 2017 20:51:46
Don't think he'd ever be accepted after all his petty squabbling and shenanigans. Need someone with his bank balance though

21 Dec 2017 20:52:19
no chance never want fat man anywhere near us

21 Dec 2017 10:40:44
Sky sports website saying Swansea are not interested in Tony Pulis and are looking at slavin Bilic and Ronald koeman.

21 Dec 2017 11:18:11
I think after Tony Pulis comments about Rangers being one of the great British Clubs means he would be more than interested in the Rangers job.

We can only hope that whoever takes charge continues Murtys good work of blending youth into the first team.

21 Dec 2017 13:09:16
But will our board go for pulis. Tony is a very good and well respected manager down south. imo he would do a very good job at rangers but would he be willing to for a much lesser salary than he's used to. depending on what type of person he is. because I'm sure he's set for life anyway and it's not like he would earn peanuts but it's a great job just sitting empty for someone. just think the person has a chance to be a legend by stopping 10 in a row

21 Dec 2017 15:23:40
We won't get pulis we do too much messing about.

21 Dec 2017 09:32:28
I take it Paul Clement will be top of our Manager shopping list now that he has been sacked by Swansea, all this hype about a new manager everytime one gets sacked must be disturbing for Graeme Murty and the players not knowing who is coming in next, the board have to get this sorted NOW, I know they have said Murty to the end of January but we must get a new manager as soon as possible to get us of back on track and back where we belong, rant over WRTP.

21 Dec 2017 09:15:57
Forget Cochran and Morgan.
Two of the best young talents in Scotland just now Jordan Thompson and Ryan Hardie's contracts run out this summer. While we've been giving a Mexican cart horse time on the pitch where he has scored once, Hardie has been banging in hatricks left right and center in the development squad. He now looks like he will have to decide if he is to look for a first team breakthrough elsewhere with QPR interested.

21 Dec 2017 10:09:21
Nassau. I've been banging on about Hardie for the last year and been criticised on here for it. Surely we've nothing to lose by playing more youngsters. Hardie and Morelos sounds like an exciting pairing. Look how well McCrorie, Bates and Wilson have done.

21 Dec 2017 12:26:13
Murty must not think he’s first team material then he sees him day in day out and he’s not getting a game

21 Dec 2017 14:27:01
Have to agree that Murty doesn't rate Hardie. If anyone knows what his ability is then surely it's Murty. Jordan Thompson is another one who hasn't hit the radar. We've got youth coaches and their job is to identify and develop talented players. Who missed Cochrane and Morgan? That's the question. We can't afford to make these mistakes.

21 Dec 2017 20:43:30
In the same vain look how shocking Barjonas was last week and he's a star in the development side. Hardie can go, he's mince. Seen reports this morning saying the boy Morgan chose celtic over rangers because he feels he will develop better under brenda. Fair play to him cause that's probably true. I'm p*ssed off it's taking so long but our next manager won't be a patch on brenda and that's so so depressing as more youngsters will want to play for celtic than us when even rangers supporting players can see it's better for them to go to celtic.

21 Dec 2017 20:46:22
I agree with Allan, there must be something not quite up to scratch with Hardie as don't think murts would hesitate to include him more.

21 Dec 2017 20:48:49
kfraser nobody 'missed' these boys, one is playing in the championship and mo matter the hype he's not good enough, while the other left of his own volition.

21 Dec 2017 08:21:45
All this speculation about a new manager, waiting for someone to be sacked and going for him, is getting ridiculous! Pulis will probably go to either Swansea or Stoke (if Hughes is sacked - should we go for Hughes in that situation? No! ) . The English merry go round of managers is laughable. They get paid pots of money, then get huge compensation when sacked and are in another job almost straightaway having achieved next to nothing in between. Why not get Billy Davies in now until the end of the season with Murty as his no.2. He wouldn't cost anything like the other names being bandied about, is a Rangers man and would kick ass!

21 Dec 2017 08:35:38
Cause he's achieved nothing!

21 Dec 2017 09:01:18
Like Warburton, Pedro and McCoist before him you mean? Davies took Preston, Derby and Nottingham Forest to the Championship play-offs and Derby to the Premier League. He also took Motherwell to the brink of European football. Not a bad record I think? He might be a bit abrasive but isn't a yes man!

21 Dec 2017 09:30:29
Not sure we should be getting a manager who hasn’t managed for a considerable length of time.

21 Dec 2017 13:36:00
O would take Billy Davies full time. great manager

21 Dec 2017 19:36:39
Would definitely consider B. Davis till end of season see how it goes.

22 Dec 2017 00:50:38
If Billy Davis was that great a manager then why has he been unemployed for such a long time!? . surely a club down south would have taken punt on him as that’s where he’s been most of his managerial career.! That fact nobody has speaks volumes.

21 Dec 2017 00:26:38
I share the opinion of a few other posts with us not having a plan B, maybe Mcinnes gave signs that he was going to sign and then didn't, someone obviously got complacent and thought it was in the bag. My understanding is that we don't have millions in the bank and we can't attract the bigger names for this reason. Let's be honest managing in the SPL is not going to be that attractive to many managers as big as a club we are, you win the league and still have to qualify for Europe. We couldn't even beat postmen and plumbers under Pedro, Don't you get something like 2 - 3 million for winning the league?, we need stability, the fans need the reassurance and we need honesty. Hard working players that know the division and can play, maybe easier said than done but if we want to compete, we can't rely on players people haven't heard of, it was always going to be difficult first few seasons back in top flight, challenging for second is not where anyone wants to be but being realistic with results against st Johnstone the other day we certainly don't deserve 2nd, I think the mike Ashley thing may have some backbone behind it, let's be honest he's got to be better than the last 3 owner including king.

21 Dec 2017 05:54:17
Not the mike Ashley thing again he’s a worm will take the heat and soul from the club turn it into sports direct. don’t want him anywhere near Ibrox

21 Dec 2017 20:44:34
how some fans, such as Rangers89, can be so disturbingly dumb in re to mike ashley is crazy

21 Dec 2017 00:04:42
Ryan Hardie linked with move to QPR.

It's almost a certainty that he will be class if he leaves us but absolutely gash if he stays 😂. It's the Rangers luck.

Hope he can get a proper chance and start a couple of games, looks a good physical striker with some pace.

One thing people haven't mentioned about this board (because of all the bad press with the manager situation mainly) is that they seem dedicated to making the development/ youth set up at Auchenhowie better. I read last week that we have agreed planning for an extension to the training ground for the development squad. Obviously the plan is to bring talent through an sell them on to generate money, like clubs around Europe do but we rarely seem to achieve. Always releasing players for nothing and they end up good players elsewhere.

21 Dec 2017 20:41:40
Physical striker. he is built like the gable end of a 5 pound note. I hope he is given a chance however as he seems to know where the net is certainly at U20 and Scotland U19/ 21 level.

21 Dec 2017 20:45:16
Has good pace, but physically? He weighs about 7 stone.

22 Dec 2017 03:05:37
Shows you how much you two know about sport. Your build has nothing to do with strength. Clueless.
