Luca Gasparotto has been called up to the Canadian Men's National Team for two friendlies at the end of March. Why is he not at Ibrox replacing the dead wood!

The boy gets good press. It's time he was given his chance

Totally agree mate, been saying this for the last couple of seasons. I'm sure he won the U21 player of the tournament last year. The whole lack of youth not getting a decent chance has been a disgrace. The remit for a Ally should have been at least 5 of the youth should be at 1st team level by the time we worked our way through the leagues.

Luca Gasparotto is on loan to Airdrie and he is staying there till the end of the season

i see wallace saying confidence at a all time low when are these players going be rained in and told to stay quiete getting fed up of them talking they are useless the lot of them
also see mccall saying jig will be vital
for us on sunday has he even watched the last few games must be deluded if he thinks jig will be important for us whole team need a reality check including jig drop the lot them and give youngsters a chance

craigs8688, never mind has McCall watched the last few games, Jig has been done since our days in league 2, remember Annan beating us 2-1 in March 2013? For me the writing was on the wall that day for Jig, been a great servant and stuck by the club in its darkest times, BUT, and it's a big but, if, as is rumoured, that Jig has a clause in his contract that he plays whenever fit then we really do have a problem - how can McCall, or any other manager, change things or pick the team he wants when previous regimes have given contracts to certain players that state they will play every game when fit?

Agree5 Disagree0

21 Mar 2015 07:40:00
I don't know where this rumour comes from but no club in its right mind would have such a clause. Not even Lionel Messi would have such an absurd guarantee.

The opposition know he's a weak link and they exploit it. McCall should " rest " him for a few weeks and have the courage and vision the Canadian national selectors have and see in Gasparotto. While he's at it, " rest " a few more too, Boyd being one of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is simply not true. Many players have had a guaranteed play clause in their contract. I know a few personally that have had them. Usually it only happens when a player is dropping down to the lower leagues.}

21 Mar 2015 09:23:15
EK - might just be me, but does the manager not decide who is fit or not?
Easy - SM needs to tell LM he isn't fit and move on!! There are other much better, faster, fitter, options IMO

Agree5 Disagree0

hearing a lot of fans, ex players, expressing the view that another season in the lower leagues would be their preference.

their reasons, they wouldn't be able to handle the step up, as the competition in the SPFL is way to strong,

Probably same people for the last two seasons, that have said Celtics titles are tainted because, no bears! no competition!

since the clubs, can't beat the two teams that dropped out the SPFL last season, I can see where there coming from.

they should really make their minds up is it competitive or not?

Surely the best thing for rangers is to get to the premiere as soon as possible we will have more revenue play against a higher calibre of teams and attract better players even if the worst happened and we gad a bottom 6 Finnish we would be in a better position the following year and there is no reason we can't continue to play youth and minimal experience mix prosper in the spl

agbroxi. you would think so, considering how much has been spent trying to achieve promotion.

maybe a case for players like B Ferguson and his ilk, getting their excuses in first.

Barry, was writing before the celtic game, that there was not much between both teams.

now he`s writing today he fears if their in the same league as them.

Barry had to say that before the Selik game, you should know how it works by now.

To the bears saying they think it is best to stay another year in the championship. so you would be perfectly happy to see the likes of Hibs beat us in the playoffs?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2015 22:40:42
Don't understand fans who would want us to stay in the Championship. Everything points to the top flight being the place to be. The team will most probably bear very little relation to the current one as we would be able to attract better players in the top flight. The only positive I can see for not going up is that attendances in the premier division would probably go down even further while some investment in our club along with some wheeling and dealing and loan players will hopefully ensure we hit the road running and fill Ibrox from the start.

My worry is that we will be still playing hibs next season and with us aving ta build a new team and hibs at the ready we could be in deep keek again.

We could probably all name a few 'best' ever teams/players - or worst - we've been spoiled over the last 25-30 years with the quality of players and managers we've had - these days will return again and hopefully with a few home grown talents that we'll all be proud to support.

20 Mar 2015 08:05:31
I don't think you had the same upbringing as I did mate you don't chose your chosen, that's the thing it's in the blood. All these glory hunters who are jumping ship because we are a bit John Steinbecked right now don't have a clue what being a ranger I all about.

20 Mar 2015 08:35:17
Totally agree Blackout and following Rangers is no bad thing you could encourage your boys to do a lot worse. So don't listen to anyone trying to tell you how to bring up your boys, there's far too much of that George Bernard Shaw going on today, people interfering in private matters.

Agree3 Disagree4

20 Mar 2015 08:54:09
Here, here blackout, you're spot on and I actually posted this also several weeks ago, my late dad god rest his soul went everywhere to support rangers and I followed on and I'm very proud to have done as I go everywhere supporting the teddy bears, you're correct mate too many glory hunters who only go & support our great club through the good times, I've always said that the best rangers supporters are always found in adversity, rangers supporter for life not just for christmas, rangers 'till I die and born into it!

Agree6 Disagree3

20 Mar 2015 10:02:46
I know, I can't understand why people will suddenly switch allegiances to teams like Chelsea or Liverpool when their club hits bad times. Even my mother-in-law asked me which team I'll support when we got fired into the bottom division. But then she's English and didn't know any better. I'll tell you what I told her, well the sanitised version - It's Rangers. It's always been Rangers and it always will be the famous Glasgow Rangers!

Blackout) great post mate so very very true my parents both from Belfast moved to Southampton where I came into being, never once was I told who to follow it just happened naturally. My father used to take me to the dell to watch the saints when he was not travelling up to meet pals for the Rangers games, then out the blue for my twelfth birthday I received something which changed my life forever a new Rangers strip and a few days later a trip to Ibrox January 1975 Rangers 3 sellik 0 my obsession had begun no longer would all the fancy clubs in England matter, and it's still the same today 40 years on, I will take the memory of that day and many more great and some not so, to my grave, and wonderful friendships forged with the great family that is Rangers football club. Born blue die blue

Some people will never understand its your destiny to be a Ranger, some choose others are chosen. My son and daughter were both fortunate to be born into the Rangers family, even though we have lived abroad for 11 years. It`s great to be a bear through good times and bad.

They were on minimum wage and zero hours contracts Bongo the man is a fat, slimey, greedy barstuard, surely £2.5 billion or what ever he is worth is enough for any man. He should take a look at his predecessor Sir Tom Hunter who is doing great things with his excessive fortune, but somehow I can't see that greedy, greedy man doing anyone a favour, its all about him.
