why not go for 2 leagues of 18 and let some of the small clubs with no support opt for joining forces - that way the 6 could survive re-construction.
Secondly, go back to the league cup format with groups of 4 to start, then home and away ties for other rounds except the final. All at the front end of the season like the old days.
Finally have ALL the Scottish cup ties decides on the first match with extra time and penalties. No replays.
just a thought -- maybe better than some of the daft ideas kicking around.

Mergers have to come, 42 teams is too many, I've always thought so. Doncaster was going on about the 10-1 ratio with England last year regards attendances but as ever our nonsense press didn't ask him if our 2. 19-1 (92-42) team ratio was therefore out of whack.
I liked the League Cup sections and remember them well but teams in Europe would be 100% against it unless they parachuted in after the sections.
Again, I think there would be opposition to the Scottish Cup one game idea, small teams love the opportunity of a home draw then replay at a bigger club.
But at least you are coming up with suggestions mate.

What's the surprise at Sandazagate?
He is no fan of the club, he's an employee and if he thinks he can earn more elsewhere then who wouldn't give it some thought?
He is stupid to be taken in by this clown, guess what, most footballers are not the brightest.
Cleverer people than him have been taken in by this kind of thing, remember the Sheik episode?
He is only interested in money, and I have yet to see a footballer that is not.
The most incredible piece of his stupidity is ego, he seems to think there is another club willing to pay him more than he is getting, £4500 a week, I believe. He is slow, terrible touch, a rubbish bag, and a poor finisher. How can he believe that anybody would give him that kind of money?
However he must be shown the door, we can use this as an excuse, and get Ally off the hook again.
Believable11
Unbelievable7
Show him the door on what grounds? If you show him the door then expect a hefty pay off for him something we just can't afford

Op ide imagine it to be breach of contract only player and agent employer and let's not forget the good auld tax man should know figures on contract and signing contract states it shouldn't be mentiond to anyone else cheers

@4 how do you know what is written in his contract about disclosing his wages?. I have signed many contracts during my working life and never have seen a privacy clause, what does it matter who he tells about his salary?. Look at the recent high profile signing of David beckham by Paris st germain, he went and told the worlds press exactly how much he was going to make from the move and his wages, then said it was all going to charity (which is neither here nor there) the point is, if you, I or any employed person wants to tell anyone who wants to listen, how much they earn its up to them

Sandaza is a disgrace.
First of all, I'm under no illusions that he and the rest joined for the money. Why else would they join a club in the 3rd Division, no matter how huge a club we are. It has been onvious all season with the performances not only of Sandaza, but Black, Shiels etc as well.
Now, aside from the pathetic nature of the Celtic supporter who actually took time out of his life to do that, the point is a professional footballer particularly those in the Old Firm goldfish bowl HAS to be more careful. You don't commit information like that to someone you have never met, let alone just answered the phone to for the first time. Absolutely crazy!
The other thing that worries me about it is that he seems to think he is marketable and that teams would actually want to sign him. He is, in my opinion, the worst striker we have ever seen at Rangers. He can't control the ball, can't hold it up, can't heads it, can't run properly, looks clumsy, has no pace and just isn't good at all. Yet we are paying him 4. 5k per week, rising to 10k when he turns 31?! That is unbelievable.
I don't know the ins and outs of it all, but have heard grumblings that he is in breach of his contract by communicating the confidential infortmation that he has? Can anyone comfirm?
If so, I would sack him. He won't be accepted by supporters as we are now all well aware of his selfish mindset. He has embarrassed himself and the club, he should be out the door at the earliest opportunity. An absolute shambles.
God, we won't even miss him.

Believable11

What would u sack him for? Footballers like any other workers are protected by employment law and although unwise I don't think there is anything he said that could sack him. If Rangers did release him he would be looking for a pay off something we can't afford to do. It's also highly unlikely that we would be able to sell him after the season he has had and I doubt any club will offer him £4. 5k plus a week. The worst aspect for me is that he was stupid enough to be duped by some random guy phoning him up. Wouldn't have expected at 10 year old to fall for that one
Agree7

S20c don't shoot the messenger, you now know about the 10k deal not due to bears research but due to a celtic cabbie. getting of his ass and trapping sandazza?
Agree7
Disagree0
S20c sack him on what grounds and what pay off,
he has 4 year contract with total income of £1.2 million,
if you sack him unfairly you pay 50% upfront to cancel contract.
only solid grounds to cancel contract is that he has exposed the deal and it was confidential, but to do that green has to admit his details are correct. damned if you do, damned if you dont.
if he on £4. 2k per week and said £4k he in clear, remeber english not his main language!!
Agree5

I don't have a problem that he wants away, he has been THE major disappointment. I agree he needs to be careful but this has all but ended his Rangers career. It is probably a good thing because they will use this as an excuse to get shot of him. But don't be surprised that players go for money. It's his job for goodness sake. There is little attraction for a foreigner to play in div three, although he is struggling badly at this level.

Celtic fan here with general question. Saw on an earlier post the the big man Bocenegra (excuse spelling) was out on loan. Which tbh I complety forgot. Sure it's some MLS mob, but was hopeing to find out how long his contract is and if he is likely to be back in the team next season, ie is he staying? If so would be exceptional addition and almost like a new signing! ta

Does Green losing the TUPE legal case affect this situation? Legally he didn't need to switch to newco surely and Green/ Ally advised him and other players wrongly.
Genuine honest issue.

1) just rubbish, Bocanegra transferred over to newco. He is due back and think he may stay. He was worried about national team but he's not getting picked. His age may mean he may stay, but if not we will get some money for him. For that he will always be welcomed back.

Am just surprised he is so daft he thinks anybody in the MLS would want to take a striker from Scotland Div 3 that has only scored 2 goals so far.

"Francisco Sandaza, the 28-year-old Spanish centre-forward who signed for Rangers last summer, is likely to become a figure of hate at Ibrox after he admitted he moved to Rangers simply for money.
Sandaza’s incredible statements were made is a supposed off the record conversation with an MLS agent. Only the person on the other end of the line wasn’t ‘Jack McGonigle’ as the caller announced. Instead it was a Glaswegian taxi driver called Tommy, who is a diehard Celtic fan.
So what happened.
After managing to get Sandaza’s number, cabby Tommy posed as a Los Angeles based agent who pretended to be interested in recruiting the Spaniard.
Sandaza immediately took the bait, and the Spaniard was only too happy to express his true feelings about being at Rangers to a faceless voice he’d only just be introduced to down the phone line.
I didn’t sign for the level, I signed for the money. I’ll get another contract after Rangers.
When discussing a possibly move Stateside, Sandaza made sure to stress that he didn’t want Rangers to be aware of any potential transfer.
Do not do it officially through the club. Send me the contract first. I don’t want trouble if Rangers find out about this.
Sandaza’s comments are likely to go down like a ton of bricks at Ibrox, and it would be no surprise to see the Rangers faithful immediately turn on the Spaniard and demand that he be shipped out the club as quickly as possible. "
