Was looking at the pics of Rangers training yesterday, we have 5 goal keepers and far 2 many central midfielders. Some of them will drfo have to ne sold or moved out on loan. Dorrans is a good, but is to injury prone and getting on a bit, Greg doc along with rossiter could do with going out on loan to the English championship, to get them ready, as i can't see them getting into the team before.

21 Jun 2019 07:42:44
Na, no way. I don't agree with you about Doc.
Gk, yes we have too many.
CM, Yes we have too many.

Yes Rossiter could do with another loan to prove his worth and fitness.

Greg Docherty should be kept ahead of dorrans and holt.

It wouldn't bother me at all if the deal for Aribo fell through because i think Doc needs a look in.
He done all that was asked of him on loan last year and he deserves a chance in my opinion.

20 Jun 2019 21:40:07
What about this edmondson, anyone know if he is what we need? youtube video's don't count nor is it accepted as "banter". Hope to god he is not another worral.

20 Jun 2019 21:48:05
Since you are always keen to shoot down others Coldo, I believe that Stevie Gerard knows that he is what we need.

I’m pretty sure that his view will not be based on YouTube but even so I doubt that he is likely to be a 100% success.

20 Jun 2019 22:06:01
Sorry Dk19, only a select few are allowed to make comments on players and sadly you are not one of them. Thanks for trying tho.

20 Jun 2019 22:29:06
Good one!

20 Jun 2019 23:33:48
Saucer of milk required.

21 Jun 2019 00:04:21
From what I read Coldo he’s pretty highly rated. Tall, aggressive and good on the ball. I need to be honest, I haven’t seen him play but I’ve done a bit of reading on the boy and lots of folk say the same things about him being a Premier League CB one day.

21 Jun 2019 06:13:08
We've just got to trust stevie G here, regarding edmundson or any other signing that we don't really know much about. The main thing is steven gerrard and mark allen are running things very professional at rangers nowadays. They will obviously have scouted these players we're chasing, quite a bit. They will have info on them from all sources. Our management team ain't going to sign a player on a whim. Doesn't matter which player you sign, every player is a gamble until proven otherwise at any football club. In stevie G, i most certainly trust!

21 Jun 2019 07:26:24
Can’t pretend I’ve seen him. He’s played a lot of games, seems to be rated down south. 21 years old and looks like he’s been scouted. I think he’ll be cover for now as Goodson and Katic are the current first choice but he’s exactly the kind of profile we need. Decent level of games, value should only go up and you would think he’ll thrive under Gerrard. Looks like a no brained.

21 Jun 2019 08:24:25
Hope so 87 shenderson, don't think my nerves could take another worrall. I think we have a great chance this year and stability at the back will be key.

21 Jun 2019 11:26:27
I agree with Ibrox4Me, the boy is only young and I really hope Goldson and Katie are first choice but again he seems highly rated and an excellent prospect so use him right and the lad could make us a fortune in a few years.

22 Jun 2019 03:13:16
If SG really no what he's doing then why the tortoise called Worral last year so SG is susceptible sometimes.

22 Jun 2019 03:18:22
What happened to the thumbs up caldo . it's your tradamark.

20 Jun 2019 19:27:56
First time poster long time reader and all that. Just wondered what everyone thinks about loaning players to lower league English teams surely premier Scottish teams would lap most of our fringe players up and strengthen them against the enemy. Reason I'm asking is docherty rossiter and Holt all did well but still not sure whether they'll make the grade.

20 Jun 2019 19:50:18
I personally think that greg docherty will make the grade at rangers. If rossiter is completely over his injury problems, them i feel he has every chance of making the grade at ibrox also.

20 Jun 2019 19:59:43
You're probably right about rossiter and docherty point i'm really making is docherty had a great year down South has his value increased? Turnbull worth 3 mil playing for Motherwell would the spl not be the better option for our loan players?

20 Jun 2019 21:53:52
I hope docherty makes it, I'm not too sure about rossiter tho. They both done well in low leagues in england, not really a measurable standard. Hopefully a good pre season under them and we will have a couple of gems.

21 Jun 2019 00:44:56
Totally agree bearwith55. We should loan players to SPFL clubs to strengthen them against Celtic and then put a clause in that they can’t play against us.

21 Jun 2019 07:29:03
Welcome to you Bear. Some great points. I think Doc will be a star for us in time and in my opinion is already worth more than Turnbull based on the season just finished. Apples and oranges as different positions but either way, we have a top young player and I think he’ll get game time. Welcome to the forum.

21 Jun 2019 13:27:19
Tbh I can't see Docherty ever really getting the chance, which is a shame because I like him as a player. Since he's gone out on loan he's fallen further down the order with the signings of kamara and davis and if aribo signs he'll drop further. I don't think any player who's 22/ 23 will want to be heading out on loan as they should be looking to establish themselves permanently at that age. He's a wee bit in no man's land at the moment where it's hard to see the best solution for him.

21 Jun 2019 13:46:47
Agreed Zikos put clauses in the contracts for various reasons but mainly not playing against us. In Rangers/ Stevie G we trust. Excited for the new season can't wait for the start.

20 Jun 2019 16:10:44
Last minute bid by Celtic to snatch Aribo after the Turnbull fiasco. He does a Novo and says no thanks before signing for us. If Carlsberg did Thursdays.

20 Jun 2019 17:59:23
I hope this is true Seeker as it’s fairly dragging on.

20 Jun 2019 18:32:59
The boy from oldham apparently on his way too.

20 Jun 2019 18:34:59
With, what sadly passes for, the Scottish media's appalling record for making up stories do any of you believe Celtic tried to Hijack this move? While I'm here anyone know what an online site is talking about a paper, as I read it, dissing either our war dead or disaster casualties?

20 Jun 2019 19:11:06
Apparently somebody confirmed they had been in touch with Charlton. Whi knows? I saw reference to John Greig and the Ibrox disaster on the newsnow site. Somethinv to do with an article the S** had cobbled together.
Don't know what has been written though.

21 Jun 2019 01:40:13
Thanks Seeker damn now I'll have to go look at the Sun : (.

21 Jun 2019 09:04:56
Bluepete. Don't do it, don't give in! .

22 Jun 2019 03:12:25
cellic may have. looks like they went back to turnbull after the aribo kb.

20 Jun 2019 09:56:59
To all those who asked if anyone has saw Joe Aribo play, well there is a fantastic new app out there called YouTube - type in his name and you will get a compilation of his goals, assists and tackles - very enlightening.

Also, have a look at Charlton FC fans posts - their fans are gutted that he has left - just type Charlton FC fans posts re Joe Aribo and you will get a selection of feeds from gutted Charlton fans.

He is a quality signing and will do very well up here.

20 Jun 2019 10:36:18
Be careful with you tub mate, can make anybody look great (just type in Josh Windass) I hope we get him over the line as I think he’ll offer something different and we could make some money from him in the future.

20 Jun 2019 11:06:23
Behave cato, youtube made pena and herrera look like good. I'm not saying aribo isn't good, I'm just saying that youtube is not a reliable source to guage talent.

20 Jun 2019 11:25:13
Selective reading methinks from coldo and sir rock - I have mentioned YouTube and advised fans to lookup Charlton FC posts re Aribo - two sources to give fans an insight into Aribo's talent - Charlton fans are not happy that he is leaving, not at all.

20 Jun 2019 11:46:57
Ahhhh youtube. Think we signed herrera pena ans sadiq over there youtube clips.

20 Jun 2019 11:50:35
Nope not selective reading. Youtube is not a reliable source of guaging talent and neither is the selling clubs fans. The mexican fans were also gutted that pena and herrera were leaving to join us.

20 Jun 2019 12:00:31
YouTube showing Aribo as an excellent player, Charlton fans gutted that he is leaving and add to that the fact SG is willing to pay him £20,000 a week.

but some on here are still not satisfied - mind you those same deniers raved about Greg Stewart.

20 Jun 2019 12:02:32
coldo - why would the Mexican fans be gutted - they could still play for Mexico if selected?

20 Jun 2019 12:28:49
I meant the fans of their previous clubs, I said mexican because I can't remember which mexican clubs they played for nor do I care. But the fans of the clubs that we signed them from weren't happy they were leaving. So fans opinion or youtube is not a reliable source to guage talent. Why do thing always have to be broken down and simplified for you to understand? No one is doubting aribo's talent. Its the fact that you are blethering about watching youtube and listening to what fans say that people are questioning. Would that be the same greg stewart that you guarenteed would not sign for us cato?

20 Jun 2019 12:35:32
Got the feeling your simply a rocket mate, I said be careful not don’t use you tube as a fair reflection of a players quality and secondly I said I hope we get him as I’m sure he’ll offer something to our squad.

20 Jun 2019 13:04:49
Haha everyone took the words out my mouth. YouTube is so fantastic it can make Rob Keirnan look good.

20 Jun 2019 13:19:47
Simmer down Cato, time will tell how good aribo is. YouTube could make Dawsie look great at football and trust me he ain’t very good.

20 Jun 2019 13:21:24
This site is becoming a bitter site so it is.

Time and time again Rangers Fans post their thoughts and perceptions on here only for the same wee people to snipe and laugh at the posts.

The media down south rate this player; the Charlton fans rate this player; SG rates this player; and yes youtube shows him as being a highly talented player.

It would seem that some of have an issue with the poster for whatever reason rather than the post - a wee bit of advice for the wee bitter dissenters == grow up.

20 Jun 2019 13:46:58
The issue is with the post and not the poster supernova. Its childish of you to put another spin on it without knowing the facts.

For the avoidance of doubt. Not one person has said or doubted aribo's talent, no one has a personal problem with cato. The issue is using youtube to justify the talent of a player that is being questioned.

There is a difference between debating, forming an opinion and being "wee bitter dissenters". Its Ironic supernova that your remark actually contributes to what you believe this site is becoming.

20 Jun 2019 13:52:55
coldo - you never post only snipe.

There are other sites that show Aribo skills. YouTube is a great site and using your analogy Messie would not get a game.

Cannot wait for you too post - but you don’t do that do you - you just snipe at others. Have you ever wondered why so few posts on here now?

20 Jun 2019 14:14:29
True blue you are just being silly now bringing messi into this debate. Youtube made many donkey's we signed over the last few years look great. You sound like coop going on about posting. Yes I do post and yes i reply to posts. Because you don't agree with my opinion does not mean I'm sniping. Again no one is saying aribo isn't good. This debate has nothing to do with aribo. Its about using youtube to judge a players quality. Stop being a snowflake.

20 Jun 2019 14:21:24
What a night out it would be if we all got together and introduced alcohol into the mix, wouldn't need any Celtic fans, we'd all be fighting among ourselves!

20 Jun 2019 14:47:03
coldo I based my view on Ariba using YouTube Charlton Fc posts and the very fact that SG is willing to pay him 20,000 a week - but that does not seem to matter you seem to be obsessed about YouTube - calm it down to a riot!

20 Jun 2019 15:04:25
I ain’t coldo biggest fan but he is 100% correct here and Cato we haven’t signed the guy yet Charlton are still trying to keep him.

20 Jun 2019 15:11:50
It's all about the way you post I used to see how many disagrees I could get sometimes. If you get upset by anonymous people dissing you or ridiculing your posts have a gentle word with yourself or just ignore them. I never get upset by brain dead, ignoramus, clowns who disagree with me. As I said all about the way you post or react to it.
Oh back to the subject I've not watched Aribo on youtube or anywhere else but all I have read about him is very complimentary lol but why were we the only ones in for him? Cletus if you disagree with me outside.

20 Jun 2019 15:16:20
Wow - some of the chat on here is . Talk about being pedantic. Must be a slow day.

20 Jun 2019 15:48:54
Cato forget aribo, I have already said that no one is doubting aribo's talent. The debate is about your initial post you said this " fantastic new app called you tube" as if its fact. Its you that's obsessed with you tube. Don't believe everything you see on you tube.

20 Jun 2019 16:36:56
Ma da could batter your da.

20 Jun 2019 16:50:43
oldo - you don't do rhetorical, do you?

20 Jun 2019 17:25:28
You can talk in riddles all you want cato, you're statement regarding the "fantastic new app youtube" is still ridiculous.

{Ed001's Note - it was clearly tongue in cheek on a banter page! I can't believe this is being taken so seriously.}

20 Jun 2019 17:40:30
I thought he was at it aswell, and then he defended his statement.

20 Jun 2019 17:49:43
Thanks ed - at least there is someone out there with a bit of savvy.

coldo - you got all dressed up and ed put you in your place just accept the slap down.

FYI - YouTube is not a new app.

20 Jun 2019 18:31:18
Can I just stick my 2 bobs worth in? Sidiques clips on youtube don't make him look good lol who hasn't looked at potential signings on youtube? If he is as good as his clips show him to be then we will be in for a treat!

20 Jun 2019 18:49:37
You're correct C-OF-IBROX. Youtube also state that joe aribo is the new ya ya toure. If only!

20 Jun 2019 19:02:00
SGL - he would need to gain about 50 Ibs to get near him

FYI - YouTube should always be taken with a pinch of salt when viewed without any backup or other info.

20 Jun 2019 22:03:09
As you know guys i'm a Celtic man and enjoy a wind up on here but in all seriousness me and my best mate who is a ger btw we’re talking about best Celtic and Rangers players in our time. My pick was Larsson and Laudrup while his pick was Gazza and Larsson! As a Celtic fan laudrup was always the player who stood out for me and in my opinion he was a level above gazza! What do you all think?

21 Jun 2019 09:07:50
It's a tough one Tyson. Different positions. Loved both of them. Sorry, can't decide!

20 Jun 2019 06:07:20
As far as the Europa League is who else agrees if we make it to the group stage then pack it in get the money and leave our main concern is the SPL title.

20 Jun 2019 06:48:45
No chance! We was in group stages last season and was sitting level on points with them after we finished the group stage then had a arse collapse after the winter break that's what cost us last season nothing to do with europe.

20 Jun 2019 09:07:23
celtic will be involved in group stages at same time in 1 of the Euro comps prob so no disadvantage also being involved. Helps us to attract better players doing well in Europe and gives Gerrard an opportunity to give more players more game time.
We want 2 players for every position but when majority are fit it’s difficult finding game time for the majority. Being in Europe gives us that opportunity and keeps the fringe players hungry.
It also improves Coefficient making it easier to qualify for group stages of both comps in future.

20 Jun 2019 11:08:25
Doing well in europe is imperative to our business model and strategy going forward. Nonsense to suggest downing tools.

20 Jun 2019 13:05:57
Europe will also help increase our players value not to mention their experience.

20 Jun 2019 17:47:13
Qualify for the group stages and win 1 match in it plus the qualifiers it's self means 6M that's enough then go.

22 Jun 2019 11:21:43
Jim09. Why o Why would any team Enter a competition, Then down tools, Have a word wi yurself .

20 Jun 2019 05:26:25
Manchester United have agreed to pay a record £55million transfer fee for a right back. They've agreed to pay crystal palace £55million for their right back aaron wan-bissaka, who incidentally is a very good right back. But they could have got the best right back in scotland, our very own james tavernier, for a fraction of the cost. They could have got tav for anything between £10-£12million. Tav is a better right back than wan-bissaka. .

20 Jun 2019 05:39:44
Tav has improved yeah. But not better than bissaka. Tav is playin in the Scottish league and still flogs goals. He has a few asissts but when going south to a new team need to remember his goals would go as would not be a pen taker.

20 Jun 2019 06:56:52
SGL you are comedy gold on here Tav is better than him.
You should be in a straight jacket, that is one of the most ludicrous things you have ever said and you have had a few.

20 Jun 2019 10:42:04
I've never seen Bissaka play And Yes the Prem. in England is at a far higher level. Let me know when you find a Wing back or defender that averages around 20 assists a season over 4 seasons down south. Coop bro I know your exaggerating but I applaud the sentiment and our Captain is worth that to you and I good job we ain't managers bro.

20 Jun 2019 11:22:25
Tav wouldn't get the same amount of assists in the epl as he does in the spl, infact he'd be lucky to get a game in the epl. Its nonsensical to compare tav's stats in the spl to that of a player in the epl. Different planets. Tav is a great player for us but banging on about his 14 goals from the pen spot and 5 assists each year in the spl does not mean he would produce the same goods in the epl or make him a £10 mil player. A bit of perspective lads.

20 Jun 2019 12:09:56
Take a chill pill GANNET10.Tongue in cheek comment, that i knew would get people like yourself going. Of course I don't think tavernier is better than wan-bissaka, although i have always liked tav and rated him highly. .

20 Jun 2019 12:12:31
To coin one of your phrases GANNET10."I really do worry about the mental side of you my friend"!

20 Jun 2019 13:09:04
I don’t understand all this crap about how the epl is a way higher standard therefor Tav couldn’t cut it. Andy Robertson played for queens park and Dundee United and now look at him. Everyone has to start somewhere. Tav can only do as he can in the league he is in.

20 Jun 2019 14:29:32
Robertson I think is quite unique, not many if any from the spl have went to the epl and had the same success as robertson. I don't think tav is anywhere near robertson or has the potential to reach his level blue89.

20 Jun 2019 14:55:22
Coldo 5 Assists a year? he has averaged very close to 20 a year and thanks for reminding me he usually pops up with 4 or 5 goals a year (non penalties) . I agree he'd find it far more difficult if not impossible against top players. Anyway i want all our top players to stay. I'd sorely miss Tav bombing up and down the right giving EVERYTHING EVERY GAME as I've said before a Captain who leads by example.

20 Jun 2019 15:46:32
We should be grateful we've got james tavernier and should be just as grateful to keep him. Never doubted him and always have rated him. Like most modern day full backs nowadays, he's much better offensively, than he is defensively,
that's the way football has gone now. Having said that, i really do think tav was much improved in his defending last year and can get better again this year.

20 Jun 2019 15:56:10
Bluepete, I agree tav is a great player for us. But his stats in the spl can't be compared to stats of epl players to then form his value. And he certainly can't be mentioned in the same breathe as robertson.

21 Jun 2019 10:35:44
Jesus man, Supercoop was making a light hearted, tongue in cheek comment to simply show his appreciation of Tav, and to maybe highlight to different in money in England and still it's a debate. Just proves some of you folk could start a fight in an empty room lol. Maybe let your hair down lads and try and enjoy yourselves sometime.

20 Jun 2019 02:22:13
Tell you what, I know I slagged the women before but I can't believe what happened at the end. That must be the 2 worst decisions I've ever seen. Are the goalkeepers supposed to stand behind the line? And what happened to injury time? Really feel sorry for the girls. They did not get one decision during the 3 games.

20 Jun 2019 07:40:47
You could argue that they've been done by VAR in all three games, although technically both decisions last night were correct. Extra time, however, was not.

That said, what's cost them the game last night was poor poor defending from a strong and comfortable position.

There are some technically gifted players there, but the game looked and felt very scrappy/ bitty with a lot of loose balls. Scotland had an opportunity at 3 up to simply keep position and play it around.

Overall, and I haven't watched a lot of the tournie, the women's game has clearly made strides, but there's still some way to go IMHO.

20 Jun 2019 07:47:42
Same here mate I couldn't understand what they were saying I was watching it on BBC Alba my other bbc4 hd wasn't working but they girls didn't have any luck which is ashame for them they decisions at the end were a joke.

20 Jun 2019 11:49:45
Why would they have to stand behind the line? It is because the keeper jumped off the line to save the penalty. You are bot aloud that. So a retaken. This is the rules.

20 Jun 2019 14:15:04
Currently every penalty kick would need to be retaken then as every one i've ever seen has the goalie off his line when the ball is struck. Imagine if there was a shoot out. It would go on all night. The Scotland goalie did well to go only a foot off her line and then make a brilliant double save, only to get booked and to face another penalty. Has anybody on these sites ever seen a goalkeeper stay on his line when a penalty is struck? I know I haven't. Goalies are taught to step forward just before the kick is taken. I think this is fair as it gives the goalie a chance. To be penalised for being a foot from the line is ludicrous imo. Rant over.

20 Jun 2019 18:17:52
Shocking decision. the players are lining up to shoot down var already. Was never for it and said on here many times it will make a mockery of football. How many decisions has it got wrong already in big games it's embarrassing.

20 Jun 2019 19:15:50
Tbh I was for it but it seems to have become a lottery and it takes far too long to arrive at a decision.

20 Jun 2019 19:46:29
Watch the England u21sgame when keeper saves dembele penalty, he's much further off his line than the Scotland goalie, no retake.

21 Jun 2019 09:11:32
Frustrated Blue. That's exactly what I have been saying. Every penalty needs to be retaken if they stick rigidly to the rules.

20 Jun 2019 02:22:28
