Was looking at the pics of Rangers training yesterday, we have 5 goal keepers and far 2 many central midfielders. Some of them will drfo have to ne sold or moved out on loan. Dorrans is a good, but is to injury prone and getting on a bit, Greg doc along with rossiter could do with going out on loan to the English championship, to get them ready, as i can't see them getting into the team before.

It wouldn't bother me at all if the deal for Aribo fell through because i think Doc needs a look in.
He done all that was asked of him on loan last year and he deserves a chance in my opinion.

First time poster long time reader and all that. Just wondered what everyone thinks about loaning players to lower league English teams surely premier Scottish teams would lap most of our fringe players up and strengthen them against the enemy. Reason I'm asking is docherty rossiter and Holt all did well but still not sure whether they'll make the grade.

I personally think that greg docherty will make the grade at rangers. If rossiter is completely over his injury problems, them i feel he has every chance of making the grade at ibrox also.

You're probably right about rossiter and docherty point i'm really making is docherty had a great year down South has his value increased? Turnbull worth 3 mil playing for Motherwell would the spl not be the better option for our loan players?

I hope docherty makes it, I'm not too sure about rossiter tho. They both done well in low leagues in england, not really a measurable standard. Hopefully a good pre season under them and we will have a couple of gems.

Totally agree bearwith55. We should loan players to SPFL clubs to strengthen them against Celtic and then put a clause in that they can’t play against us.

Welcome to you Bear. Some great points. I think Doc will be a star for us in time and in my opinion is already worth more than Turnbull based on the season just finished. Apples and oranges as different positions but either way, we have a top young player and I think he’ll get game time. Welcome to the forum.

Tbh I can't see Docherty ever really getting the chance, which is a shame because I like him as a player. Since he's gone out on loan he's fallen further down the order with the signings of kamara and davis and if aribo signs he'll drop further. I don't think any player who's 22/ 23 will want to be heading out on loan as they should be looking to establish themselves permanently at that age. He's a wee bit in no man's land at the moment where it's hard to see the best solution for him.

Agreed Zikos put clauses in the contracts for various reasons but mainly not playing against us. In Rangers/ Stevie G we trust. Excited for the new season can't wait for the start.

To all those who asked if anyone has saw Joe Aribo play, well there is a fantastic new app out there called YouTube - type in his name and you will get a compilation of his goals, assists and tackles - very enlightening.

Also, have a look at Charlton FC fans posts - their fans are gutted that he has left - just type Charlton FC fans posts re Joe Aribo and you will get a selection of feeds from gutted Charlton fans.

He is a quality signing and will do very well up here.

Selective reading methinks from coldo and sir rock - I have mentioned YouTube and advised fans to lookup Charlton FC posts re Aribo - two sources to give fans an insight into Aribo's talent - Charlton fans are not happy that he is leaving, not at all.

Nope not selective reading. Youtube is not a reliable source of guaging talent and neither is the selling clubs fans. The mexican fans were also gutted that pena and herrera were leaving to join us.

I meant the fans of their previous clubs, I said mexican because I can't remember which mexican clubs they played for nor do I care. But the fans of the clubs that we signed them from weren't happy they were leaving. So fans opinion or youtube is not a reliable source to guage talent. Why do thing always have to be broken down and simplified for you to understand? No one is doubting aribo's talent. Its the fact that you are blethering about watching youtube and listening to what fans say that people are questioning. Would that be the same greg stewart that you guarenteed would not sign for us cato?

Time and time again Rangers Fans post their thoughts and perceptions on here only for the same wee people to snipe and laugh at the posts.

The media down south rate this player; the Charlton fans rate this player; SG rates this player; and yes youtube shows him as being a highly talented player.

It would seem that some of have an issue with the poster for whatever reason rather than the post - a wee bit of advice for the wee bitter dissenters == grow up.

The issue is with the post and not the poster supernova. Its childish of you to put another spin on it without knowing the facts.

For the avoidance of doubt. Not one person has said or doubted aribo's talent, no one has a personal problem with cato. The issue is using youtube to justify the talent of a player that is being questioned.

There is a difference between debating, forming an opinion and being "wee bitter dissenters". Its Ironic supernova that your remark actually contributes to what you believe this site is becoming.

It's all about the way you post I used to see how many disagrees I could get sometimes. Manchester United have agreed to pay a record £55million transfer fee for a right back. They've agreed to pay crystal palace £55million for their right back aaron wan-bissaka, who incidentally is a very good right back. But they could have got the best right back in scotland, our very own james tavernier, for a fraction of the cost. They could have got tav for anything between £10-£12million. Tav is a better right back than wan-bissaka. .

Tav has improved yeah. But not better than bissaka. Tav is playin in the Scottish league and still flogs goals. He has a few asissts but when going south to a new team need to remember his goals would go as would not be a pen taker.

I've never seen Bissaka play And Yes the Prem. in England is at a far higher level. Let me know when you find a Wing back or defender that averages around 20 assists a season over 4 seasons down south. Tav wouldn't get the same amount of assists in the epl as he does in the spl, infact he'd be lucky to get a game in the epl. Its nonsensical to compare tav's stats in the spl to that of a player in the epl. Different planets. Tav is a great player for us but banging on about his 14 goals from the pen spot and 5 assists each year in the spl does not mean he would produce the same goods in the epl or make him a £10 mil player. A bit of perspective lads.

I don’t understand all this crap about how the epl is a way higher standard therefor Tav couldn’t cut it. Andy Robertson played for queens park and Dundee United and now look at him. Everyone has to start somewhere. Tav can only do as he can in the league he is in.

Robertson I think is quite unique, not many if any from the spl have went to the epl and had the same success as robertson. I don't think tav is anywhere near robertson or has the potential to reach his level blue89.

Coldo 5 Assists a year? he has averaged very close to 20 a year and thanks for reminding me he usually pops up with 4 or 5 goals a year (non penalties) . I agree he'd find it far more difficult if not impossible against top players. Anyway i want all our top players to stay. I'd sorely miss Tav bombing up and down the right giving EVERYTHING EVERY GAME as I've said before a Captain who leads by example.

We should be grateful we've got james tavernier and should be just as grateful to keep him. Never doubted him and always have rated him. Like most modern day full backs nowadays, he's much better offensively, than he is defensively,
that's the way football has gone now. Having said that, i really do think tav was much improved in his defending last year and can get better again this year.

Bluepete, I agree tav is a great player for us. But his stats in the spl can't be compared to stats of epl players to then form his value. And he certainly can't be mentioned in the same breathe as robertson.
