Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

20 Jul 2018 23:26:54
I have to say I'm shocked and a bit disappointed Docherty is not in Gerrards plans. In my opinion he's a better midfielder than McCrorie. I think the lad should be kept at the club as the manager doesn't know if Coulibaly will suit British game. I hope I'm wrong but I think it's a big mistake.

21 Jul 2018 07:39:30
I agree 36th I believe Docherty is a better midfielder than Mccorie but SG maybe feels that he has a lot of midfielders and that Docherty I don’t think has shown his best form since coming to Rangers and playing in a struggling team. He will come good but SG might feel he needs regular game time to find form.

21 Jul 2018 07:49:33
36thulsterdivision, is it possible that Docherty isn't fully up to the fitness level that Gerrard is asking for and he thinks 6 months regular starting would benefit him? I'm not disagreeing with you, just thinking of the reasons behind the loan.

21 Jul 2018 11:24:12
Will smith Mng spoke about Docherty stats at training camp, said he was fittest player there. I think they just don't think he will get games, so better on loan.

20 Jul 2018 22:35:21
I'm not Morelos' biggest fan and I do think if we get offered any kind of real money we should cash in but.

1. We have to remember that this is basically pre-season.

2. That he's probably a number 10 doing a 9 and 10's job.

3. That the lad is young and doesn't speak much English so must feel a bit isolated.

4. That he's doing it all on his own.

Don't jump on the lad just yet. It's what the mediaphiles want us to do.

Join the revolution. we'll need the backing if we're up against the Croatians next as they're a proper team. Never mind Aberdeen.

21 Jul 2018 00:33:05
Finally. Somebody who gets it.

Back your own, crazy idea init?

20 Jul 2018 22:32:25
I have resisted this for long enough, but this has to be said. If Morelos is our main striking option this season then we won't have a chance a chance. I admire his industry, God knows he is trying, but it's his decision making that is letting the whole team down. Maybe break for the lad is needed, and with big OS coming in there will be less pressure on AM, but he has to be dropped now for the good of the team. We MUST get a proven goal scorer in though.

If he has the stomach rangers player, he will work extremely hard in training and cup games and try and force his way back in, if not, then selling in jan may be the only workable option.

21 Jul 2018 01:21:18
If Morelos dropped then we're back to one up front with new striker and this not the answer. Let's see how Morelos plays in 4-4-2.If he's still crap we can say he got every chance and shunt without conscience.

21 Jul 2018 07:52:56
Not posted for a wee while but still catching up wvery day. 2 points.

1st - morelos like it or not is our main striking option. We need to stop judging as we are only 2 real games in. He is looking well trim and will i hope lead our line this seaon maybe best suited to a 4 4 2? We have the sheep and darkside 1st month. Lest see where he is at then?

2nd - Stevie G legend and 1 of the most respected professionals to grace the game and prob the best prospects in the game imo. He is tinkering around with hus best side and i am sure he WILL GET THIS RIGHT. We will see some more leave and come before start of new season. I for 1 think we are looking really good and have a goid feeling we will challenge on all fronts and run those timmies close this year. So let's all enjoy the revolution as we are contendors for sure. let's Go!

20 Jul 2018 20:22:17
Can we just give SG a chance.

20 Jul 2018 20:32:49
Yes get that into yer eads NOW.

20 Jul 2018 22:35:41
I hope every gers fan gets behind SG and his back room team. Every other football fan in Scotland would like to see this man fail. He has addressed the defence shambles we've had. One more CB and striker and in imo we won't be far away.

20 Jul 2018 23:22:15
1M% behind SG and the team no matter what happens this season, follow we will!

21 Jul 2018 00:38:41
It’s mental the panic folk are getting themselves into. Still pre season, 3 games (2 competitive), 0 goals conceded.

Strikers aren’t firing but give the manager a chance to manage his players, it takes time to work with them and also games time for the players to adapt to the managers coaching.

Keep the faith.

21 Jul 2018 04:29:03
every fan is excited jaws, but mistakes already made, docherty over halliday every day of week. love andy but nowwhere good enough at this level, docherty is future captain he would have progressed under gerrard. windass waste of a shirt and wage, a luxory we can't afford sell use money to fund better candias another waste of shirt, and wage he for me isn't up to standard. play players in right position to get best out of them its not going to work. seriously we face far tougher opposition next round europa don't see it going our way on last rounds performances
moralos has to step up he is our main asset we have to get best of him to win league, catch celtic. still a young man with huge potential. london jock.

20 Jul 2018 19:57:46
Stevie G certainly is building from back to front in that order. I think we are definitely high in midfielders and one or two maybe go still. My guess would be Halliday n Windass. I think we should go all out to buy a player who will dominate middle park as SG did and S Davis or someone similar as in my opinion we are missing that link from middle to front with any real talent and will get found out if we don't fill this void. Positive is there is still time. Still to come in I would like 1 striker, 1 winger, 1 centre-half and as I said 1 quality midfielder.

20 Jul 2018 20:17:58
Coulibaly is hopefully the midfielder we all desire.

20 Jul 2018 22:32:38
I don’t believe Koulibaly is.

Steve Davis is for me also the man to link Defence into attack.

20 Jul 2018 19:38:04
Some of you will know that I'm a regular visitor to Liverpool through work and I have one or two close friends and good contacts there. I'm told this boy Kent is a top talent and he's been given a 5-year contract by Klopp. If their assessments are correct, we may have just taken another wee step forward. Keep up the good work, Stevie.

20 Jul 2018 21:14:30
Dutycalls surely you should be setting your standards higher than a Liverpool reserve who can’t get a game for Bristol City?

20 Jul 2018 23:25:29
Under what budget Baz the bear? Bristol City can probably offer more wages and transfer fees that we can offer, some clubs just work for some players and i’ll Judge the boy myself on performances for us, over to the lad!

21 Jul 2018 00:43:57
Baz maybe you should realise Scottish football is in the gutter and unless we are paying stupid wages then top talent ain’t coming here.

You’ve not even seen the boy play for us yet and you’re alresdy greeting. Maybe you should lower your expectations rather than having a go at the OP for being optimistic (god forbid) .

21 Jul 2018 01:03:48
As I said, Baz, the guy has been given a 5 year contract by Klopp so obviously the coaching staff at Liverpool believe he has a big future. That will do for me, along with Gerrard's judgement and not some toerag manager of some tit team.

21 Jul 2018 09:03:29
Just highlighting dutycalls has double standards.

He slagged off Lafferty and Moult, both proven goalscorers up here and said we should be raising our standards.

Seems to contradict himself about standards so just pointing that out.

I think the lad Kent will be a great addition. In my original post I also said if we had 3 million to spend we should push the boat out for a centre forward.

20 Jul 2018 18:00:43
anyone else think we are no better off than last season and Gerrard doesn't quite get what we Are! loan signings are ok if they are world class but not just kids. We have seen this before with Warburton zlammi and Dom Ball.

20 Jul 2018 18:27:57
Rangers have signed:mcgregor, goldson, katic, Flanagan, Murphy and arfield. The back 5 has been drastically improved although I personally prefer a left footed lb. Arfield will add something to midfield.
As far as world class loans go who would you like, mbappe?

20 Jul 2018 19:14:05
Some people are never happy, or should i put it hard to please, shorty4114! Of course we're better, with better players than this time last year! For example regarding our loan signings, coulibaly, sadiq and ryan kent in their respective positions, are better than what we already have at the club!

20 Jul 2018 19:41:29
Sorry supercooper but you don't know that these players are better than what we have, unless you have been following these guys careers. I'm pretty sure like most fans you have never seen these guys play. Hopefully they are fantastic players but they could just as easily be the next Nemane or Dalcio.

20 Jul 2018 19:51:45
I think we need to see how things go before we can say how much improved we are. It’s only been 2 competitive games with the new look defence and against a very ordinary side. Let’s see where we are after our trip to the piggery to see how much better we are or aren’t.

20 Jul 2018 20:15:11
Supercoop - bit of a leap of faith there my friend, we haven't seen these guys yet!
Ibrox seems to be a difficult place for players to play?

20 Jul 2018 20:37:00
I've most certainly seen ryan kent play and this young winger on his game is superb! He's better than anyone in the same position, currently at ibrox! Regarding coulibaly, just read gerrard's comments about him and he has seen him play, a lot of times! He's a midfield destroyer, is what gerrard said! We've badly needed a midfielder like him for ages! Umar sadiq, i admit, i don't know a lot about! But going by stevie G and others, he's a £10million player! Our full defence is miles better than last season! Is that enough explaining guys? Trust the manager and have patience, in the rebuilding process! Cheers!

20 Jul 2018 20:58:58
agree supercooper i also have seen ryan kent a good few times and there is a top class player there a bit rough in some areas but will impress in the spl liverpool have just given the boy a 5 year contract and given they are challenging for the epl and champions league runners up will take players from liverpool that can't yet break into the first team all day long.

20 Jul 2018 22:10:14
Our fanbase doesn't have patience, we've not given our previous few managers a proper chance at the job! A few bad results and we call for their head, my worry is SG will fall into this same boat, he has no real managerial experience so its going to be a massive learning curve for him and I just feel we are expecting too much from him and if he fails to deliver the results in the first few months we'll be calling for his head also, and if that happens our club is screwed! So let's get behind him no matter the results and give him our 100% backing, this will be a process over a couple seasons to get back into fighting contention!

20 Jul 2018 23:29:23
So supercooper, to summarise - you haven't seen coulibaly or Sadiq play! You have seen Kent play, presumably in development league games or a similar level but these 3 young lads are better than anything we currently have because SG says so?

Think I will reserve my judgement until I actually seen them play for myself. And hopefully you and SG are right.

20 Jul 2018 23:30:36
I have to agree here, we have had a big turnaround in players already and more to come most likely however it will take time to gel and I for one done expect miracles, 1 game at a time and go down fighting in any defeat is all I ask!

20 Jul 2018 17:23:01
With Kent looking likely, the last of our loanees is likely between Solanke, Brewster or Woodburn from Liverpool. Biggest problem I see is the guaranteed game time. Ejaria and Kent may both be fringe players Solanke would be regular. Some say why give game time to other teams youth at the expense of our own and I get that but the majority of the loanees we get will not make it at Liverpool sad but true. We can no longer hope to rival teams like Liverpool for players again sad but imo true.
Liverpool can attract far better youth players than we by advancing these young prospects we would be in a great position to cherry pick those that don't make it, a kind of reverse feeder club, of their assets to us. Now hit the disagree button go.

20 Jul 2018 18:18:30
According to this morning's sun newspaper Bluepete, gerrard has assured liverpool, that ryan kent,
Will be a rangers first team starter! I think ryan kent will start for us in a lot of games, as he's a very good young winger, when he's on his game!

20 Jul 2018 19:10:18
Coops, must be true if it's in the Sun, eh? How do they know what Gerrard and Liverpool agreed? It's the same as on here - speculation and guesswork.

20 Jul 2018 15:39:55
Anybody know who's running trip to Croatia, I would like to catch this one, cheers.

20 Jul 2018 19:21:19
70s do Edinburgh to dubrovnik, then her car.

20 Jul 2018 14:58:01
chances of premier sports getting the osjek game on thursday anyone? effinn love watchin the most succsesfull🇬🇧.

20 Jul 2018 13:36:05
sorry to say this as a live rangers but not a chance in hell givin the two shkuppi performances do we have a chance a the europa group stage a have major concerns about this odijek team never mind the likes ov sevila, leipzig, feyernord we could get the round after a will b watchin and supportin as ine does but the most one am lookin foward two is aberdeen away first game ov season.

20 Jul 2018 14:00:40
We've only played a few games. Some people have us beat already.

20 Jul 2018 14:04:00
8cakes, it's 2 games in mate. We need to be more positive and believe we will grow and improve as a team when we get the full 11 on the pitch. No surrender mate.

20 Jul 2018 18:28:47
3 games we have played if you count bury,8 scored 0 against, you would think we wir knocked out of Europe the way people go on, you should be encouraging the team no bringing it down.

20 Jul 2018 20:17:42
8cakes - some people don't like a dose of reality mate!

20 Jul 2018 23:32:34
The only thing more concerning than our lack of goal threat is your paragraph 8cakes.
I'm quite literate and it took me about 10 minutes to work my way through that. I'll sell you some punctuation?

20 Jul 2018 23:34:45
Umar Sadiq mate. Don’t worry about it. I’m sure another attacker will appear as well. Chill, the revolution will it be televised.

20 Jul 2018 12:47:31
It looks like gerrard is going for Liverpool's Kent now. Personally I would like to see gerrard build a relationship with the likes of city and Chelsea, United is probably a no go. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Phil Foden would be amazing loans all so.

20 Jul 2018 13:31:15
There's absolutely nothing wrong with gerrard and rangers having this relationship with liverpool!

20 Jul 2018 14:06:47
We should build relationships with as many top teams as possible. It won't hurt to have many routes to talent. Phil Foden would be an amazing talent up here but doubt we would get him I'm afraid.

20 Jul 2018 15:49:34
It's amazing having a close relationship with Liverpool, Umar Sadiq from Roma is good as well. I just think Gerrard can attract young players from a lot of teams and rangers would benefit from it.

21 Jul 2018 01:31:50
Phil Foden, played enough games for Man City to get a EPL winners medal last year. We couldn’t even get Harry Wilson up here so stop living in dream land thinking we can get the top youth talent from England. Personally I like that we are floating around different markets in Europe bringing talent. I feel this is more in our budget and these guys have much more to gain that a pampered EPL loanie. Saying that I hope any boy we get is brilliant HHa.

20 Jul 2018 12:15:46
Right I'm just going to say it, I'm not optimistic about this next Europa league opponent! They are a great team who are well organised and love to attack, I think the away game for us will be crucial and if we can manage a clean sheet then we will have a chance, the way we played that second leg leaves me worried, I know we didn't have to chase the game and score but it would have showed our intentions if we did, I really think a change in formation is required, it could throw them a bit, remember this is the team who beat PSV both legs and put them out of europe.

20 Jul 2018 13:03:25
a great team who finished 4th in the Croatian league (poorer than spl imo) . Yes they had a good result and run in Europe last season however if we can't get passed sides like this then we don't deserve to be in Europe. Also if we can't see of sides like this imagine the treatment we would get of teams in the later rounds.

20 Jul 2018 13:17:10
We are essentially a new team again and just trying to adapt and gel together, they are organised and know how to score, I really hope we up our game and just go for it, our defence should cope with them but any little errors will need to be stamped out quick, I agree they are a team we should be beating at ease but those days have gone and it's taking us time to reach the top of Scottish football where we belong, until those times we will struggle and slip up,

20 Jul 2018 13:39:58
Europe is not going to happen IMO.
Too soon, especially if we keep having to change managers.

If Stevie G and Co survive then we have to look at next year for Europe.

Let’s not kid ourselves on, we are still very fragile as a club. Players only signing for Stevie G and not Rangers is not smart, especially if he doesn’t cut it. What then? Those players will want out. That’s risky incredibly risky. So it puts much more pressure on our club to make sure this is the next management team for the next few years. Otherwise it’s never going work.

Europe, other than money, is just too soon and creates too much pressure this season.

Having said all that I hope we upset a few and do something. I just won’t be disappointed if we don’t.

20 Jul 2018 15:14:59
Stevie G is a bigger pull than rangers, why wouldn’t we sign players because of that. Remember most young players have only known rangers in the lower leagues, they are not exactly going to be secret rangers supporters.

If we only sign rangers supporters we will have a very poor team.

20 Jul 2018 15:58:53
Your not reading what I’ve written. The point being made signing players that are coming only because of SG is risky way to operate.

Sign players that are impressed by Rangers first and SG is the icing on the cake. If SG doesn’t survive those players quit.

I’m not talking about young players or players who are Rangers fans!

20 Jul 2018 19:51:07
If SG doesn't survive then it's because the players he's signed aren't good enough. We'll be wanting them out as well. Ridiculous to be talking about the manager being a failure before the seasons even started though.

20 Jul 2018 22:35:44
Get a grip son I never said Stevie was a failure try reading more slowly.

20 Jul 2018 23:25:46
Enough of the 'gel' daz. It is just an excuse.
We seem to be the only team on the planet who have to 'gel' before putting in a performance.
International teams have a few days together before they have to go out and perform. I was hearing into last November about us waiting till we 'gel'.

21 Jul 2018 05:48:38
Stay
So what do you want to do or think the solution is to beating bury in a friendly 6.0 ( where Liverpool couldnonly draw ) and negotiating a stuffy Europa tiebwith a goal to spare. While negotiating a few unexpected injuries I may add . rossiter.! Arfield! Mcorrie!

20 Jul 2018 08:44:55
What's the views on Ryan Kent? In my opinion he won't improve us, a mate of mine who is a bristol city fan reckons he's a lower end championship player down south.

20 Jul 2018 08:55:01
Depends which Ryan Kent shows up, if it's last years Ryan Kent then we are screwed. If it's the Ryan Kent of 2016/ 17 then he might do ok. Overall it's a disappointing signing if it happens.

20 Jul 2018 10:20:09
Common guys, as you know wingers rely and perform on confidence. Ryan kent is a good winger, who's a little shy on confidence just now! That's not to say he's a bad player or lower end championship player, far from it!
Remember, on klopp's say so, young ryan kent was offered and signed, a new 5 year deal, with liverpool, last summer! Can't be that bad and is obviously held in high esteem,
with the liverpool manager! He's far better than being a bristol city player, i can assure you, to what i've seen anyway and what he's capable of! Give the young winger a chance at rangers, before being negatively judgemental on him!

20 Jul 2018 10:58:17
I'd rather give Middleton the chance to play and prove himself. Too many loanees isn't good. We need to buy a striker but that's easier said than done. Waghorn being sold for 5 million says it all and relying on the Roma youngster and Morelos to provide the firepower for the season is too great a risk.

20 Jul 2018 11:22:33
Kfraser yea says it all about the boo boys who chased waggy out the door for a dip in form.

20 Jul 2018 11:58:25
Good post KFRASER you have said what the majority of our supporters are thinking.
It's still early in the season so we need to give all the players who pull on the shirt a chance.

20 Jul 2018 12:31:43
The thing is NONE of us have saw enough of him on a regular basis but all our current management have. I will not second guess them. I think he would do very well up here in a team playing with confidence.

20 Jul 2018 13:34:52
Ryan kent is very highly thought of at liverpool! The clue in all this, is that liverpool tied kent down, to a new 5 year deal, last summer! Says it all really!

20 Jul 2018 14:44:11
Kent is a very good player whom works hard and has two good feet with pace to burn.

20 Jul 2018 16:02:34
Maybe he is well thought of but we need experience in those areas not kids! Middleton is our youth. We need strikers of experience.

Time yet, but I’m not a fan of loans for the sake of it. This boy Ejaria looks like another Odowa of Spurs. All flicks and shimmy’s not much else.

I hope I’m wrong.

20 Jul 2018 08:37:45
I don't understand the club letting Docherty go out on loan. Rossiter will struggle to play a dozen games this season. Dorrans is injury prone as well and Halliday is championship class at best. We're bringing in players on loan instead of developing our own young players. How Halliday is getting on instead of Docherty is beyond me.

20 Jul 2018 08:57:02
McCrorie is our holding mid along with Jack. Arfield our attacking mid, Dorrans is coming back from injury and it will be good to see how he is when fully fit (Something he never was last year) Coulibaly is described as a destroyer by Gerrard so must be highly rated, so it seems Docherty wouldn't get much game time, best thing for him is to put him on loan and put in a clause making sure he gets game time.

20 Jul 2018 08:27:07
Rangers should look at Trent Sainsbury, CB who played well at the World Cup. He is 26 years old and is playing in China. He only has 6 months left on his contract and is being allowed to leave for less than $1m. He could be the next Craig Moore.

20 Jul 2018 12:12:04
The next Craig Moore? That don't say a lot. Moore was average at best.

20 Jul 2018 14:34:21
Craig Moore our ex captain average at best?

20 Jul 2018 15:00:05
Dick Advocaat turned Craig Moore into a great defender - Just ask John Hartson, I'm sure he still must have stud marks on his knees to prove it!

20 Jul 2018 20:53:00
Craig Moore was terrific for our club had a shaky start mostly because he was played out of position but I thought he matured into a terrific player for us.

20 Jul 2018 08:17:50
cant scream it loud enough.

mcoist 100games 29goals first 5 seasons

morelos 130games 70goals first 5 seasons

lay off morelos the negativity is what's killing our teams confidence were are those supporters that shouted and sang for sebo even though he was guff but gave his all.

20 Jul 2018 08:29:17
I like Morelos but this comparison is woeful.

20 Jul 2018 08:31:33
What a load of nonsense. McCoist was playing at a higher standard than Morelos has been. He’s not and never will be in McCoists class.

20 Jul 2018 08:48:25
Didn't realise Morelos had played 5 seasons for us already ;-)

20 Jul 2018 10:19:04
Morelos is murder. not good enough for our bench.

20 Jul 2018 10:23:06
What a stupid comparison really try and think before posting what possible relevance is the 3 1/ 2 seasons Morelos played elsewhere in relation to what he's fine for us PARTICULARLY! End of last season to now I say that as I know he scored for us but went off boil big style.

20 Jul 2018 23:24:26
I think there is a player in Morelos half way through last season he lost form and confidence but as we didn’t have another player to play his role in the team we kept playing him killing his confidence completely across the city if a striker lost form he was rested and brought back in they have three strikers to chose from so I hope we can get one more ingiving us three and even one to play along side Morelos saying all that his form has been poor and he needs to find it as when he first got in the team I thought we had a right player on our hands but after supporting this team for over thirty years I’ve seen the fans turn on a player and make it very hard for him so excuse me if I decide to give him a. bit longer.

21 Jul 2018 23:00:54
we will see. support the boy instead of hounding him ask if you'd say the same if he was scottish youth prob not.

21 Jul 2018 23:03:40
look at any of the big players profiles and youll see the same kind of stats.

are we not rangers fans who don't do walking away? but turning your back on a player who clearly gives his all and is still learning, shame on you. wait and see how he performs with someone up there with him.

20 Jul 2018 07:40:44
What do the bears think of main from Motherwell hard grafter can definitely put the ball in the onion bag certainly played well last season in all old firm games , only an opinion.
