First time post.

Happy with all the signings reckon couple more needed though offload herrera rossiter niko alves hodson free up some cash.

For those who want rid of cardoso young player good with ball at feet and sayin we've got bates REALLY?

Bates played amazing against celtic won't take tht away frm him went to florida and ud have thought he was a fam and we were short of numbers so gave him a game. Nowhere near cardoso level with ball at feet not even close but cause he had great game against them from what i read half this forum want him in hall of fame. God bert konterman scored a screamer against them and at most parts was horrendous to watch.

Cummings, i reckon will lighting the team up and more width with murphy etc goss looks good with ball at feet. Martin a didn't really see point in signing not played for month so going to take a good month to be match fit by tht point what's the point havin him with mccrorie coming back.

Also don't see the point in bringing loans in that ain't going to commit after summer goss for example just helping qpr develop a player like we did with hyndman last season who looked a good player in a pretty poor rangers team.

Not here to argue just voicing my opinion.

20 Jan 2018 22:23:16
I just don't want to let Rossiter go. He looks like a young steven gerrard. If he gets over his injuries could ve a massive player for us with a huge sell on value.

20 Jan 2018 22:40:55
Bates is definitely not a ball playing centre half nor is he the finished article, but what happened to defenders being able to defend? He was motm at pittodrie as well as celtic park because he kept it simple. He is big enough and ugly enough for his age and will only get bigger and uglier. Imo Cardoso is not suited to our league (the same could be said for Bruno) .

They've maybe been unlucky with injury and seen as scapegoats due to the Pedro connection, but with Danny Wilson finally starting to show his quality, McCrorie and Bates coming through, and Murty bringing in Martin who he knows personally and what he can bring to the table they seem like a waste of a wage to me.

20 Jan 2018 22:49:56
Jcarr, your right in saying Martin hasn't played for a wee while but i disagree with your assumption that he will take a month to be match fit. He actually is exceptionally fit and takes pride over his fitness. He has been doing extra training and has been working with the sporting science team at Norwich. Youll be surprised. He's ready to slot into our team and won't let us down.

20 Jan 2018 23:58:11
Spot on bigmarv, great assessment. Totally agreešŸ‘šŸ˜§

21 Jan 2018 09:08:44
Agree totally Bigmarv05, Centre backs should just get the ball into row z and stop fecking about by passing it about the back! How many times do you see this building fae the back pish ending up with the goalie just hoofing it up the park because the ball playing centre backs are just inviting pressure by trying to build fae the back! Fecking afronting tae watch!

21 Jan 2018 09:55:32
BigMarv

Bates did play well against both Aberdeen and Celtic however against Kilmarnock he was atrocious

21 Jan 2018 10:45:03
Goalie i didn't mean he isn't fit or doesn't look after himself not for me to say as i never played at a high level far from it i mean match fit/ sharp and coming to a different league different physicallity if thts how u spell it. My point was we have plenty centre halfs i think there in a player in cardoso if he can settle think his problem is playin with bruno as if he has to b at tht level instwad of playin his own game. i'd rather have covered where we are weak fair enough signed cumming but still shy up top thts me taking herrera out the equation as i dnt c him bein a goalscorer cummings n morelos get injured whos going to do the business up top windass cam score but we need a 20/ 30 a season striker tht we've not had for a number of years apart fem young morelos as i said before not here to argue jus my opinion

20 Jan 2018 19:43:36
Fellow Bears. Not a rumour but does anyone know where I can buy old Rangers tops? Looking for a 1988 home kit for my brothers birthday.

20 Jan 2018 19:52:23
Try classic footballtops. co. uk they have a few retro rangers tops for sale

20 Jan 2018 19:55:44
Thanks Robbie I'll give them a try.

20 Jan 2018 22:03:51
There are some pages on Facebook mate that people auction retro rangers memorabilia.

20 Jan 2018 23:12:47
Try twitter as well always see them on there or the club shop had some of the older styles as well.

21 Jan 2018 08:30:05
Maybe try eBay?

21 Jan 2018 08:49:04
Rangers retro shirts on twitter just popped up on my page there mate

21 Jan 2018 10:04:32
why all the disagrees to a simple question from a supporter, some people who use this site should have a long look at themselves and grow up

20 Jan 2018 18:42:50
I know McCoist did his best and what he believed right and it's annoying to hear these posts saying he didn't give youth a chance, we should have developed our own. McCoist did say you can't win promotion with youngsters or words to that effect and he's right when you see the kickings that went on in the lower divisions. He gave Lewis McLeod his chance, not so much Barry McKay, and a few others. Apart from those two, how many have gone on to prove themselves as quality Rangers' calibre? Not one. Ally gave his heart and soul to the club. Cut him some slack.

20 Jan 2018 19:20:19
Totally agree McCoist was a true Rangers man through and through served our club so well throughout the years and the grief the guy got when he became manger with what was going on at the club was unreal
He never got a real chance and all he wanted was to be manager of the club he loved and served most of his playing days
It was not his fault what went wrong with the club not one little bit
And he deserves more credit than he gets Especially being his first gig and it was not his fault he through himself in at a bad time like I say he just wanted to manage the club he loved and no matter the circumstance ally would have thrown himself down for the job.

20 Jan 2018 21:45:57
Tell me your both joking? He was an awful manager and didnā€™t have a clue. Look at the budget he had compared to the rest of the clubs in the lower leagues and the football was atrocious. He wasted money on so many duds and endorsed both Whyte and Green.

We suffered some of the most embarrassing defeats in the clubs history under him and he was that inept he couldnā€™t even win the challenge cup. He didnā€™t give youth any chance and instead but woeful players like Kyle, Black, Cribari, Faure and that woeful Greek full back. 2-0 up with 12 mins to play against the mighty Alloa and still couldnā€™t win. Good club player but shocking Manager

20 Jan 2018 23:22:01
McCoist played Mckay, Hutton, Perry, Crawford, Kal Naismith, Little, Hemmings, Mcleaod so i don't know were people get this myth that he didn't give youth a chance. bottom line is that the majority of these boys just werenā€™t good enuf

21 Jan 2018 09:58:14
SG34

How many games did some of those players you mention actually play? You canā€™t say he played youth players when some of these players hardly played. How many games did Hemmings play? He wasnā€™t given a chance and did prove himself in the top league after leaving Rangers

21 Jan 2018 12:17:31
The youth were not good enough, why is that so hard to understand.

21 Jan 2018 17:26:14
Even allowing for the ā€œeveryoneā€™s entitled to their opinionā€ I cannot believe the stick McCoist gets on here. 355 goals for Rangers, Assistant Manager and the Manager during the most turbulent time in the clubā€™s history. Oh - and he had the sheer audacity to take money from the club that he was contractually entitled to after he was sacked. Please Ally, hurry up and write that book and give us your version.

20 Jan 2018 17:57:17
Not a rumour
Is there any truth in us actually looking at this Roberts lad?
Cos I've just seen WBA knocked bk 4mil from Leeds for him.
I know we can get him for 300k thru that loop hole.
We should be pulling out all the stops to get this boy!

20 Jan 2018 18:03:17
It was supposedly nearly done has went very quiet though

20 Jan 2018 18:59:09
Wow Kfraser what a total rocket you are. This is the same guy who told us all that Whyte, green etc all were the messiah all to sell season tickets to line his own pocket. Remember the gardening leave costing the club a fortune we didn't have as well as pocketing those penny shares?

That idiot is firmly up there with Whyte and green and anyone who thinks otherwise is totally deluded.

P. S. This is not ally the player but ally the mercenary and total joke of a manager

20 Jan 2018 19:26:51
He was put on gardening leave by the board he has bills to pay like me and you - if my work or better your Work put you on gardening leave and you could still get paid you hon stay tell me you would say, you know what no your all right just keep your cash weā€™ll that's nice if you. Me and maybe ally on the other hand need the money to support family and pay bills most people would have done the same
And at the end he problay thought he was getting done over after the years he gave the club and he def would not be on the wages half the football players get nowadays compared to back in his days - yes still be alotbut 60,70,80 plus thousand a week
And if Iā€™m right he has a few kids wife house etc to keep

20 Jan 2018 19:31:56
Another thing what is this calling other blue noses a rocket?
Honestly look across the pond they all stick together and back each other like most football supporters
So behave and and have some respect for people opinions and for your fellow bears buddy.
Sick and tired of seeing fellow supporters on here mocking each other and name calling just because they have there own opinion

20 Jan 2018 19:42:55
Was Ally one of those who took advantage of an EBT?

20 Jan 2018 19:57:27
How many took advantage of an EBT? Back then and how many of us would take the same advantage when maybe you didnā€™t realise or know what would happen if you took the EBT option how was it portrayed across to the folk who took them
Itā€™s not illegal
Thereā€™s a loophole nobody can do anything
It saves the club money
It saves you money
To be honest donā€™t know about anyone else I certainly never heard of it or knew anything about it til it all came out
And if rumours are correct weā€™re not the only club to have done it just the only one that has been taking to court for it?

20 Jan 2018 20:21:09
McCoist is a legend, always will be. McCoist told us all about backing green etc at the time because that's what he and the rest of us believed at the time. Do you honestly think that if McCoist knew any different that he would lie to us just to get season tickets? Utter nonsense! McCoist tried to hold the club together when everyone else was ripping it apart! Walter smith would not have been successful under those circumstances, what chance did McCoist have? He was entitled to every penny owed to him! You could see the stress on the man's face, you could hear the stress in the man's voice during those years. He was the only one that stood by and tried to build a competitive team for the league and the cups to try and ensure a great club like ours was not humiliated on the park. Youth would not have cut it! Its an absolute disgrace that so called rangers fans tarnish McCoists name! Legend then, legend now, legend forever!

20 Jan 2018 20:30:28
Get a grip of yourself Rabc10000!Calling a fellow bluenose a rocket and absolutely castigating a true glasgow rangers legend! Us true bears DON'T treat our own like that! Simple as that! Have a word with yourself!

20 Jan 2018 20:34:23
excactly coldo - you said it all
šŸ‘

20 Jan 2018 22:46:37
just a thought guys if mccoist hadnt wanted to stay when we went down, do you think there would have been a shortage of managers queuing to step in? second biggest wage in scotland with a pretty much guarantee the league would get one, pretty sure we would have found someone else stepping up to the plate. he was a hero to me as a player growing up, doesn't escape the fact he unfortunately is a god awful football manager

20 Jan 2018 23:23:56
If WBA knocked back Ā£4m then i can't see us getting him and he must be signing a new contract otherwise they would have accepted the Ā£4m rather than lose him to us for Ā£300k

20 Jan 2018 17:15:13
Watched rangers v Bayern youths this lad Kelly is superb, hope we have him tied up. 17 far better than Ferguson was. I've seen Kelly about six times, very impressive.
Palmer also looks a player.

20 Jan 2018 17:51:08
Are you comparing a 17 year old to Barry Ferguson? Have a word with yourself

20 Jan 2018 18:10:52
Far better than Ferguson was? Thatā€™s a bold statement.

20 Jan 2018 18:42:54
Offt that some statement, hope your right mate. Not seen much of the lad myself but if your making a comparison to Ferguson he must be a player. Hope to see him come through the ranks and not lose him before he's kicked a ball for the first team like Gilmour.

20 Jan 2018 18:49:45
He obvs means when barry was 17

20 Jan 2018 19:10:28
Sorry Cameron 1 what is your issue with that. Barry was 17 when he made his first team debut at tynecastle. I like everyone on here is entitled to their opinion. I have watched our club for over 50 yrs and seen many young lads who don't make it.
I believe this boy to be one of the best, my opinion.
Further research seems to indicate he was given a four year deal at sixteen, someone must rate him

20 Jan 2018 20:33:06
I hope you right jboy17, we have a gem on our hands if you are mate.

20 Jan 2018 16:50:36
Ed, could you please run a poll amongst our supporters, regarding who they think is the best signing we've made, in this january transfer window? I attended a sportsman's dinner last night and a good few of us bears, got into a debate about this! We all had various opinions! So ED would be much obliged if you would run this poll for me to gauge who our supporters do think is our best signing this january! IE. jamie murphy,
sean goss, jason cummings, russell martin and very soon to be greg docherty? Cheers ED!

{Ed033's Note -

Rangers signings Poll

20 Jan 2018 17:06:06
You and yer polls CoopsšŸ˜‚! Could you not have at least waited till the end of window for that one?

20 Jan 2018 17:09:09
Wasn't me that disagreed mind you

20 Jan 2018 17:14:36
Any info on wats the hold up with good signing supercoop? Any knowledge? I think Murphy and Cummings will be outstanding for us! And Wat an outstanding result for the u20s winning away at Bayern Munich. Amazing. Credit to Billy Kirkwood and Peter Lovenkrands. brilliant. Build it and it will come BearsšŸ”“āšŖšŸ”µ

20 Jan 2018 19:40:49
I really think Cummings can score a barrel load for us but I voted for Russell Martin, I think he will be outstanding in our league! šŸ¤žšŸ½

20 Jan 2018 20:35:28
I really do rate both alfredo morelos and jason cummings, but i honestly think that a lot of our games, it will be one or the other who starts! Probably morelos as he's currently the striker in possession of the jersey! So we can't predict with any confidence that cummings will score a barrowload of goals!

20 Jan 2018 20:35:34
Its a hard one, all top signings for us.

20 Jan 2018 21:44:46
I Can't believe how many people are excited by Cummings come on the scene a championship player than went to England and couldn't get a game for a team in the bottom half of the table yet you would think we have signed a star or something.

20 Jan 2018 22:22:31
Deano, that's hibs team from the championship are strolling it in the SPL with pretty much the same team. Cummings will do fine in the SPLšŸ‘

20 Jan 2018 22:50:41
Agreed Deanobear, better strikers banging the goals in in the English lower leagues we could have signed on a permanent deal!

20 Jan 2018 16:22:54
Billy Kirkwood after Bayern game "hopefully we are trying to teach our boys at Rangers to show these teams no respect". šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚.

20 Jan 2018 20:36:26
Its the attitude every rangers team should have.

20 Jan 2018 16:18:11
Slight change of subject here lads. Iā€™m working down in Hartlepool at the moment and my big mate is away to the game. He says 200 bears have bought tickets for the game and are travelling down to support the club and to try and help them avoid administration as it may be just around the corner. If this is true I take my hat off to the troops as this is a fantastic gesture

20 Jan 2018 17:28:13
Really hope hartlepool utd can avoid administration! I think we should all get our heads together on here and come up with ideas to help hartlepool get the funds required to survive! Let all us bears try our best to help this football club! We most certainly know how this feels!

20 Jan 2018 17:44:35
Hope you have the boys a flyer John so that they could all go to the game.

20 Jan 2018 16:00:37
So much for the winter shut down go away for a jolly come back and yer games cancelled due to weather Fraserburgh on a dark freezing Wednesday night joke.

20 Jan 2018 17:47:31
The winter break is well intended but we obviously can't predict long term when bad weather is going to hit.
I might be alone here but I'd like our league to be summer league's which might also help our teams qualify for European competitions as our season would be under way when qualifiers come around.

20 Jan 2018 15:53:41
Serge Atakayi would be entitled to be annoyed if he was overlooked because of O'Halloran in the second half of the season. Looks as if he always wants the ball and always looks to beat a man. Deserves a shot, and undoubtably has more sell on value if he bears fruit.

20 Jan 2018 16:40:01
Aye for u19's nassau, he is nowhere near ready for the 1st team. That was evident in america.

20 Jan 2018 15:25:10
Great result for un19s away

20 Jan 2018 15:16:00
Just noticed our u20s beat Bayern Munich on their own patch. Well done lads!

Keep Believing!

20 Jan 2018 15:37:40
This european development league or whatever its called is one of the best idea's for a long time. The young lads have had some great results against top sides. Can only be positive.

20 Jan 2018 16:18:49
That is absolutely brilliant! A big well done to the lads

20 Jan 2018 16:24:30
We should be looking to bleed at least two youngsters into the first team every season but unforunately fans are too impatient these days and the pressure on managers is insane. I think we missed a trick when we were coming up the leagues to integrate our own home grown talents into the first team instead of signing the likes of Sandaza, black, Daly etc.

20 Jan 2018 16:41:41
Can only bleed them if they are ready to make the step up calvin.

20 Jan 2018 17:19:05
The boy Kelly is stunning for 17, watch for him. Better than ferguson at same age. Agree too young for now but two years I'd hope to see him in first team squad

20 Jan 2018 14:21:23
Just lookin at Jamie walkers transfer from hearts. they sold him for 338k, but they wanted a million of us. ****ers. we've got much better now anyway from players on loan

20 Jan 2018 14:16:05
Hi folks, first time here having read for a while. It's good to see that there is positivity on here again and by no means am I looking to appear negative here so I'll ask it first as a question . Does anyone's else think that the board are playing this more than shrewdly with how they're going about their business? They've appointed Murthy till the end of season, they've backed him with getting new players, again loans till end of season. This could go one of two ways. We have a great second half of season, all players work out, Murthy is a success and all in the garden is rosie. Or things go tits up again and the board have their get out clause with not having to take on players and being left with them should a new manager be brought in . I desperately want Murthy to succeed and be at the helm for a long time . We don't need any more turmoil. And let's stop the talk about stopping ten in a row. I don't want them getting nine! Be gentle with me guys.

20 Jan 2018 15:44:45
The team / first team squad looks better. The board? Naw, we should be on a much better position as a club, soft loans, millions wasted on transfer fees, crazy wages. And only recently did we get some kind of scouting network. King is like Murray, full of it.

20 Jan 2018 15:51:47
The board can't afford to keep making the wrong managerial appointment and throwing money at the wrong players. I, like many on here said that what we need is a manager that knows the club, the league, the type of player that is needed to play in this league. Murty even said this himself, its not rocket science. Murty has proved that he is tactically aware and with the signings so far the signs are definately positive. If we can off load some deadwood ie herrera cardoso hodson krancjar and get docherty in then I think we will be in really good shape for the 2nd half of the season.

20 Jan 2018 23:08:43
Drew68 it can only go one of the two ways you mentioned. You also have to ask if the loan players do well will the board be able to find the funds to sign them permanently? What would be a great 2nd half of the season? 2nd and at least cup semi? I ask because I can guarentee there will be some on here that will want Murty sacked before the end of the season!

20 Jan 2018 12:19:04
Game against Fraserburgh rearranged for Wed 31 Jan.

20 Jan 2018 13:21:25
It seems that the Scottish Cup takes precedense over any league game, therefore our game against Partick woukd have to be rescheduled.

20 Jan 2018 12:16:13
Think we could get Docherty over the line by offering ohalloran on loan any thoughts

20 Jan 2018 13:07:48
Agree, ohalloran is finished at rangers, no where near good enough. Heard Motherwell very interested in ohallora. I'd try a swap with Cadden

20 Jan 2018 12:15:39
Come on St Mirren! Soften the sheep up for us and end their season.

20 Jan 2018 12:53:05
Christ is saint's Greek defender playing for the sheep? Shocking defending. Saints have been the better team as well. 3-1 up and sheep haven't kicked a ball

20 Jan 2018 12:09:05
Bruno Alves To go to team in Italy.

20 Jan 2018 12:03:48
Game off tomorrow.

20 Jan 2018 14:16:30
A disagree? Why, pray tell! Lol

20 Jan 2018 10:38:27
Team against Fraseburgh should be most of the boys what are not regulars a few of the young lads along with some experience We cannot be playing our best players for a team that are going to give us a rough ride I'd expect lots of physical and tough tackling from the opposition Not a game that Kranjkar can be risked in given his late history of injuries Get young ones on for this game

20 Jan 2018 11:44:56
I wouldnā€™t play kranjar anyway. Heā€™s rotten. Watching him running about in the old firm game like a headless chicken was embarrassing.

20 Jan 2018 12:55:37
I'd prefer to see us play a pretty much full strength team in all of the cup games. Don't want to take any chances and hopefully we can win it!

20 Jan 2018 12:57:02
Krankjars not suited to playing football full stop

20 Jan 2018 15:22:53
He's only played in a world cup and 2 euros . English top flight for 5 yr. Not suited to be footballer. Maybe could be reworded to it's time to retire .

20 Jan 2018 09:46:33
Hopefully get Docherty deal done over the weekend but loooking forward to the summer I think we should have a go at getting Billy Gilmour back on loan for a season. Chelsea may not be ready to send him out yet but they do favour that system and he will end up on loan at various places in the coming years so itā€™s worth a shot in my opinion. The lad should go far in the game.

20 Jan 2018 09:39:44
I see Sutton the Mutton is at it again in the Daily Rag, stating that Rangers' signings are 'cast-offs'. He can't help himself. Strange, bitter creature that he is. Also a Serie A team apparently interested in Alves. I'm pleased with the signings in this window and I hope we get Docherty too. 4-0 to use tomorrow with Cummings and Morelos grabbing two goals each. I promise not to mention Hardie again this season, nor Barcelona too! Cheers Bears.

20 Jan 2018 09:48:28
Was that clown not a Chelsea cast off before joining sceptic? Iā€™m sure he was surplus to requirements and he done ok up here! The guys a complete walloper!

20 Jan 2018 13:05:55
Sutton says / does these for a reaction/ effect. He couldn't hack it in management and is a fud.

20 Jan 2018 13:09:16
Krancjar heading to US. Wants freed with no pay off re wages till may. His wife still living in New York

20 Jan 2018 13:29:15
Jboy17 is take that and thank him for his efforts

20 Jan 2018 08:32:45
Reading between the lines it seems Rangers don't want Docherty cup tied and hence the sudden minor injury keeping him out of today's match. He'll be a good signing. We might have too many good players now but I think the idea of finishing second and a good cup run is a bit negative. Celtic have peaked and dropped and are there for the taking. I think we can win this league.

20 Jan 2018 09:07:18
Think there's a base for a decent team but we're far too far away to win the league this season. Love the optimism though

20 Jan 2018 09:34:20
To win the league we would need to win all 16 of the remaining games whilst relying on Celtic to lose 4 games. Realistically I am just looking for a better consistency between now and the end of the season, if we could score around 75+ points Iā€™d be ok with that!

20 Jan 2018 10:12:28
Guys these signings are much improved on last few years and they know what Rangers are all about, however, they will still need a little time to fit into team. This year will still be about a better consistency and finishing second. Next year Iā€™d expect to push on and put a fight up for title.

20 Jan 2018 10:39:31
I know what kfraser is saying. I think it is a bridge too far for this season. However, this is football and you just never know. A good run in the cup and a string of good results in the league would be good given the state we were in when Pedro left.

20 Jan 2018 11:39:07
Wee Bear, maybe not 4 defeats but draws are damaging too. Hearts humiliated them and we played them off the park 2nd half at Parkhead and should have scored 3. I think Cummings and Murphy are great signings and could make all the difference. We just need a common sense approach from Murty to pick the best 11. No need for a crocked 38 year old Miller starting, Alves out if his heart's not in it and no Wallace out of loyalty.

20 Jan 2018 13:00:32
The leagues gon mate, even 2nds going to be hard. we need to have a really strong finish to the season with a view of really making a fist of it nxt season

Review Of The Day 20th January 2018

20 Jan 2018 05:46:42
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 20th January 2018

20 Jan 2018 03:41:49
Just wanted to make a point about Jimmy Tavs.

He's confirmed he's going nowhere and yet another completely made up story about us has circled social media, wonder who started them eh?

Tavernier is one of, if not our best/ most consistent player this season. He had to endure massive amounts of stick from supporters last season mainly down to a flawed system but also down to lack of concentration when defending (always lost his man at the back post etc), which you can now see he has put the time in on training to become a better defender, which I believe he now is.

He is still only 26, was 23 when we signed him and he's developed over the seasons and managed to develop as he has the thick skin needed to play Rangers and take the flack and push on to become a better player.

He clearly cares and shows it, unlike pretenders such as Forrester etc.

I'll admit he was someone I didn't rate until this season. But I'll hold my hands up he has proved me wrong and has stepped up this season. Our most improved player by far
