This might be a bit late but I've just watched MW's press conference and the one thing that I took from it is the complete and utter shambles that it our journalists. MW clearly stated Waghorn's injury and our clubs opinion on artificial surfaces and that we respected clubs out with the Premier league and their financial issues and what we as supporters/ players should expect in the top tier of Scottish football. To then be asked the same question time and again for almost 10 minutes it shows the greatness of our manager to keep his cool and repeat himself about a dozen times. This also happened during the whole Scott Allan debacle. Don't know what you guys think.

Agree mate, i live in falkirk and some of the " bairns " are going mental until actually reading what warbs said and meant, the grief i got today was incredible until i told them about there half finished stadium and skid mark of a manager . just shows though theve certainly tried to fire up all other teams and the worst thing is warbs is right, for example falkirk have the use of the bp and stirling university pitches for the younger players so don't need to train on the pitch.

20 Feb 2016 22:14:31
Agree - but was also struck by the professionalism with which MW moved the subject matter on. Was never going to come from the so called journalists. Would appear that it is not only the pitches that are not up to standard in the Scottish game!

20 Feb 2016 22:34:34
Totally agree, they should be working on preparing menus for restaurants that's all they are good for.

20 Feb 2016 22:56:14
I agree how some of them have a job in journalism baffles me, kids at school would be better interviewing him.

Question for Ed please.

Every football club will have a rough element. The more supporters a club has the greater the number of numpties. Rangers has many, many supporters of which a few will be tubes, I think it's fair to assume. Forums like this are good for bit of debate and banter and it's probably important that we keep the free speech principle.

Rangers' supporters and the club periodically gets slaughtered because of either real or imaginary bigotry. Things are, I feel, changing and whilst the religious thing will always be present it will continue to dilute over time.

I think that the vast majority of posters on this forum are fairly rational and generally respectful given that there will be a number who hate Celtic as much as they love Rangers.

Occasionally a post slips through whatever vetting takes place and - I believe - let's the site and the supporters down and shows the poster up as a bigoted tit. It took a long time to get to it but my question is why do you allow some of the posts through? One appeared recently that in one sense was fairly mild but referenced bigotry, the media and the pope. An utter nonsense post that just makes us look like the bigots that some want to believe we are?

I know it's not the done thing to criticise fellow Bears but we don't help ourselves at times.

{Ed001's Note - because sometimes it pays to remember that there are still morons out there. If nothing else it was something to laugh at that sheer stupidity of the post. I mean what kind of imbecile thinks the Pope is deciding what the newspapers in Scotland write about?}

20 Feb 2016 22:33:41
Couldn't agree more with bruisedbears post, I am in the forces and banter goes with the job. But even the most mentally challenged of people understand that there are boundaries. Bigotry has and always will be part of society however, all you need to do is speak sense louder than the nonsense and remember that opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one.

21 Feb 2016 04:44:38
So much for free speech! Knew my post would be knocked out.

{Ed001's Note - who said there was free speech? Bigoted tools do not deserve it, yes I include you and if you don't like go to some vile site where you will feel a part of the knuckledragging morons you clearly pine to become.}

21 Feb 2016 10:31:21
Rafbob thanks for your service man. Religion? I can't remember the last time I was in a Kirk or Chapel, the wife and kids are my religion, closely followed by the gers and the odd pint lol.

21 Feb 2016 11:16:49
Ed. thanks for the reply.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate.}

21 Feb 2016 12:15:11
Bluepete, bang on mate, that's one of the best posts I have read on here and I will second that.

21 Feb 2016 13:14:55
Bruisedbear - great post mate. One of the best iv read on this site.

I'm fed up with the small but determined group of morons who damage the reputation of the club and the vast majority of sensible supporters.

Why do these morons continue to sing outdated songs about historical events that they in most cases don't understand the first thing about. Some still do it despite the clubs, supporters groups and society as a whole saying enough is enough.

Personally I would rather the club was able to take the moral high ground rather than be just as bad as Celtic.

The stain of bigotry has done worse than damage our reputation- it has held the club back and makes it very difficult to market the club to new supporters.

Some of the brigade are too stupid to understand this and somehow feel they have both the moral authority and the intellectual prowess to lecture everyone else on the merits of religion. Ironically most of them don't go to church themselves.

22 Feb 2016 08:15:12
Cheers luigi

We've got to police ourselves. The club can't do it alone. And I agree that we should not be using Celtic as an excuse to change/ stay the same. Get our own house in order - which I think is happening to be fair.

20 Feb 2016 12:54:51
Why are the media building this as a battle between us and Killie, just because Johnston took the huff I guess, Warbs was only stating a fact on the pitch and the injury, by the way how often did he have to make his point to the media, I counted 6 times anyway, he has already stated he can't believe how the media blow every little detail up about Rangers, and either can I.

20 Feb 2016 19:33:48
Apparently Robbie Neilson was fairly vociferous about this same thing earlier on the season but, surprise surprise - little or no press coverage. I think if we want to go about getting these surfaces banned we should install one at Ibrox. That'll do the trick!

20 Feb 2016 20:59:13
Either that get halliday to say he enjoyed playing on it that would get it banned.

20 Feb 2016 21:15:18
Seeker. think there is one at murray park.

20 Feb 2016 22:15:58
Lol seeker you just hit the nail on the head. for spfl u need 6000 capacity. undersoil heating also grass pitch is what i think personaly.

21 Feb 2016 10:33:14
These pitches are here to stay in Scotland and we really need to get on with it. Bad injuries happen in all sorts of surfaces and some of the worst injuries happen on grass. Rozenthal, Kuznetsov and Brian Reid all sustained serious knee injuries on grass due to catching their feet on the turf.

21 Feb 2016 13:33:01
Do you still need undersoil heating in spl if you have a plastic pitch? Last time I checked plastic didn't freeze it just gets colder.

All the stuff about injuries but nobody had mentioned the research into the link between the rubber pellets on the pitch and cancer. Not proven yet but there does seem to be statistical evidence showing that goal keepers in particular seem to be at increased risk as they are most likely to end up ingesting the pellets when they dive for saves.

Anyhow- Management should not be fixating about an issue we can do nothing about. Last thing we need is to put doubts into our own players minds about should they go into tackles or stretch for balls etc because of the pitch.

For the record the best playing surface I have ever played on is hearts plastic pitch at richarton training ground.

20 Feb 2016 20:47:17
Op the press in our wee country are as thick as tar, but hey its alł about the mighty glasgow rangers, i thinnk most oof our media have studied our club since the day they were born, i don't know whose fault that is, but always remember mate its all about rangers eh, lol.

20 Feb 2016 10:14:41
i don't know what everyone else thinks but if we did not have a 5pt cushion we would be under pressure take waghorns goals away and consider the fact that there was goals coming from tavernier wallace holt and miller which have dried up i think we are right under pressure to go up automatically and hats why warburton has been so loud with his thoughts on plastic pitches because he now knows we are under pressure.

20 Feb 2016 19:21:28
I believe everyone needs to calm down and start taking positives, the talk was before the Killie game that Waggy should be rested. We have enough depth in the squad to keep going I would have been more concerned before the transfer window and a lot of his gals are from penalties anyway so let's all calm down and support Rangers!

20 Feb 2016 22:49:35
A lot of Waghorn's goals came from penalties, not necessarily won by him and similarly if he had not being playing another quality squad player could have come up with something? I really want Wagy back as quick as possible but in terms of the technical execution of the goals, especially taking into account the pressure inevitably associated with scoring such significant goals, the goals scored by Billy King in injury time and Nicky Clarke against Kilmarnock were better than Wagy's habitual misses of late. Nicky Clarke's goal against Killie was genius - let's see what the lad can do when he knows he makes a difference!

21 Feb 2016 10:30:02
Well Clark will get his chance to prove himself however I still don't think he is good enough. Would love to be proved wrong as his effort and work rate are different class also he is a Rangers fan and it's always great to see supporters succeed on the team. However I fear this won't be the case and by the end of the season he will be on his bike.

21 Feb 2016 11:41:15
I'd absolutely love the wee guy to come good but just can't see it I'm afraid. I think MW will go with O'Halloran Miller and McKay with Clark King and Forrester on sub duties most games.

20 Feb 2016 09:50:10
Come on we need a big push now, no draws against the bottom of the league win win win. Every win makes it harder and adds pressure on Hibs. Waghorn will be a big miss but we should easily have enough. SPL here we come.

20 Feb 2016 13:21:25
U should get a badge for that comment, lol.
