Paul Clement, anyone?

20 Dec 2017 20:49:50
Yes, why not. Problem I have now is just please can the board pick someone. I no longer know who I want or who we can afford.

If we have no money for an EPL manager, could we not go for an ex player or ex manager? Possibly ex player with an experienced number 2? It’s embarrassing

20 Dec 2017 21:38:43
Clement u on evostik

20 Dec 2017 23:51:06
No way is clement the man for the job

21 Dec 2017 09:20:44
who would you pick then ds? Don’t slag the guy with stupid comments.

Clement has been no 2 at Chelsea PSG Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

21 Dec 2017 10:59:59
aye and as a manager he is a big, steaming pile of number two 😂

21 Dec 2017 13:28:22
Who do you want Snell as manager?

21 Dec 2017 14:34:04
Tony Pulis mate :)

21 Dec 2017 15:08:29
Fair enough. At last we agree on something 👍

21 Dec 2017 16:07:36
Baz your problem rite soz if he's bn not at these clubs he's worth a bash

21 Dec 2017 16:29:27
Sounds like you've been on the eco-stick mate!

21 Dec 2017 17:30:17
its a Christmas miracle Baz! 😉

21 Dec 2017 19:42:59
Eco-stick pissing masel laughing is that organic glue 😂😂

21 Dec 2017 20:42:39
He's been a dogs body number 2, someone who put the cones out, brought them in. Gathered the training bibs and balls up. that doesn't qualify him as a great manager just ask Swansea fans

20 Dec 2017 20:22:24
So that's swansea bossless and might be stoke aswell will pulis go, i think we've hit a really unlucky spell with managers getting punted and we can't compete against the epl, not long ago we could of nearly picked a jobless manager, nearly i said.

20 Dec 2017 21:40:34
i see where you are coming from but Pulis has been available since November, even if he wanted to wait til after Xmas it was definitely enough time to get ahead if we hadnt pissed about with DMc so long

20 Dec 2017 22:27:16
We as rangers supporters deserve some sort of statement from this untransparent, mute board of directors! What the hell is going on at our club, in this drawn out managerial hunt! This is so embarrassing and very amateurish! Certainly not the glasgow rangers way of old! This is a total unwanted saga! We are getting told hee haw!

20 Dec 2017 22:59:57
The board stated after the McInnes balls up that Murty would continue with first team duties atleast till end of year. What other statement do you want them to make Coops?

21 Dec 2017 05:46:13
The biggest statement of all scotty123,is they should have appointed a PERMANENT manager long before now! Where's the plan B, when delboy mcinnes knocked the job back? They said ages ago that SEVERAL candidates were being considered and i'm NOT talking about the manager's currently without a job! If you think the way our board has handled this whole managerial hunt, then that's your choice mate, i certainly DON'T! I've been paying my hard earned cash, to go and watch rangers everywhere my friend, just like many others! Over 42 years of being a shareholder, season ticket holder etc! I certainly think i deserve better and at least being told a lot more than they have been telling us! TRANSPARENT was they key word king and co used, when they swept to power 3 years this March! Where is the transparency? I was at our agm, and basically the board got off far too lightly! He's a very smooth talker, mr king and can someone tell me if our managing director stewart robertson ever says anything?

21 Dec 2017 06:19:51
I agree the whole manager situation has been a mess and handled badly. The board however wrongly and naively assumed that because everything bar the ink was done with McInnes that he was in. Contingency is massive in business and they screwed that part up but putting out statement after statement is also poor business practise. No further statement is required till the new year as they have said its Murty in charge till then. PR wise they have been piss poor so perhaps less official statements the better. I’m hoping next statement involves a pic of new manager with scarf above head.

20 Dec 2017 18:49:53
The talk of Tony Pulis is making me nervous. I see the vast majority of the fans voting so far would prefer him to Ronald DB. Does that same percentage actually want him or is it just a preference between the two.
Rangers future success depends heavily on relative success in Europe. What do you think Pulis can offer on that front, we can't afford someone learning on the job. I would say knowing the European game is just as, if not more, important than the Scottish game. All rounder required, not a one trick pony.

20 Dec 2017 19:21:10
for what its worth i actually think his style could adapt well to europe. we will consistently be facing teams with bigger resources than us, and that kind of plays into a pulis style. you don't spend that long in the EPL without having more than one string to your bow. however i also think it doesn't matter as he will be snapped up by someone down there soon. cheeky few mill bonus if he saves a team from relegation will swing it

20 Dec 2017 20:56:14
No point talking about Pulis, he's not coming. Swansea have sacked Paul Clement so he'll be going there. We'll end up with another weird appointment from somewhere that nobody has heard of like Pedro.

20 Dec 2017 18:28:49
Forget pulls, he's sitting waiting for the next EPL sacking, possibly clement at Swansea, then he can do what he's good at keeping teams up, he's not for us, he's a survivor not a winner.

20 Dec 2017 19:25:01
I would like tony pulis as our manager but here's a wee question for billy blue! What manager do you want as the new rangers manager and how good a manager do you think we can attract? I truly think pulis would be a very good appointment for us!

20 Dec 2017 20:18:23
For what it's worth Coops I agree with Billy blue, Pulis will likely end up at Swansea or Stoke. Personally I would support Big Eck, Wright, Lambert, and even believe it or not wee Billy Davies.

There are other names that interest me like Preud'Homme etc but right now feel we're still re-building and we should be focusing on building the squad numbers wise, and building fitness, consistency, and spirit. I believe any of the above could do this with enough support.

20 Dec 2017 20:44:50
Can't believe I'm going to day this again - big Eck. Final answer!

20 Dec 2017 22:14:29
Frank De Boer would be a great choice. Astonished that he hasn’t been approached yet. However maybe it doesn’t surprise me that this joke of a board still have appointed anyone after nearly 2 months

20 Dec 2017 23:03:39
FDB would want big bucks and a hefty transfer budget. We don’t have the cash. The budget set for staffing can’t all be used on the management, not when the team needs atleast 5 first XI players in.

21 Dec 2017 08:50:09
Scotty

How do you know what De Boer would want? Have you seen any of what you have said quoted by him? If you could you please provide a link to this for everyone to see

20 Dec 2017 17:10:58
Frank de boer or Tony Pulis for
Manager ed can we start a poll

{Ed033's Note -

De Boer or Pulis Poll

20 Dec 2017 20:40:08
I would love either as manager but out of our price range I would imagine

20 Dec 2017 15:18:00
Just saw a good post on bbc. Merge the league cups. North and south.

20 Dec 2017 18:24:49
only way wee will play in europe

20 Dec 2017 20:10:36
We wouldn't be in Europe England is Britain we in Britain lol

20 Dec 2017 13:43:48
There are a few good players that have their contracts running out in Summer 2018 which I think could be useful to Rangers next season -

GK - Anders Lindegaard
RB - Martin Kelly
LM - Scott Arfield
LM - Chris Brunt
CM - Charlie Adam
CAM - James Morrison
CM - James McArthur

Some solid Scottish choices there. We have been lacking International class this season, I reckon a few of these guys could strengthen our squad with ease.

20 Dec 2017 14:14:57
Walker, McLean, Brunt, Naismith and McArthur are all possibilities that would welcome the move. I’ll split opinion here but bringing back Shagger and getting cash for Fod with view to McCrorie/ Kelly being number 1 next few seasons would be a good move. I’d have brought Lafferty back also when we had the chance.

20 Dec 2017 14:44:45
Totally agree Scotty. Walker and McLean would be welcomed signings I reckon and if we don't attempt to sign them then we have to look at what Mark Allen is actually doing.

Lafferty would have been a great addition instead of Herrera. I know he had his moments when he was here previously but overall he performed well.

If Robbie McCrorie has the same attitude and determination as his brother then we are onto a winner there as well.

20 Dec 2017 17:22:03
the premier league guys are out of range. we just can't afford them. However I would like to see us pick up the best of the Scottish free transfers in walker, mclean and possibly ali crawford

20 Dec 2017 17:30:23
Mcarthur is a gers man would take brunt arfield too along with walker mclean as for keeper mcgregor love to see him back but personally would sell fod an give alwick chance along with mccrorie as num 2 also seen cardoso wanted back home too with mark allen comin from 9down south he prob got his eye on 1 or 2 young from there on loan

20 Dec 2017 13:37:32
Looking at all managers Alec Neil win % over all clubs is very good. I like his no rubbish attitude and he knows Scottish football. Had 54% win ratio at Hamilton imagine what he could do with bit of money, knowledge of English leagues that's within our budgets. He is young. I'm sure the usual is he no a tic fan etc etc will be written. Holy molie we need to move on from that crap. Don't know what team he is affiliated to. We need a strong character with a ruthless streak to win win.

20 Dec 2017 13:02:53
Am getting sick of every time we play opponents we are getting linked with there manager honestly this is pure propergander and to put the opponents off so let’s just stop buying into this rubbish

20 Dec 2017 18:58:34
Apparently we are to ask permission on Monday to speak to Steve Robinson 😊

20 Dec 2017 10:28:36
Steve Clarke!
STATS. Newcastle played one lost one
WBA played 60 won 19 lost 26 drawn 15
Reading played 53 won 19 lost 20 draw 14
Kilmarnock played 10 won 4 drawn 4 lost 2
Best win % KILLIIE 40%
WBA 31.7%
READING 35.8%
Might be a great coach but there is nothing in these stats to suggest he can move us forward in any way as a manager
So I really hope as another post suggested he's ours after old firm is an unfounded stab in the dark!

20 Dec 2017 11:19:23
I'd say that wasn't a bad % considering he's managed jobber teams. I think Clarke would do a job at Rangers and would be very cost effective.

20 Dec 2017 11:39:22
C bear we must be looking at this from a different perspective on just can't see how he'd be any better than murty all he's don't is had a slight stabilising effect on killiie
I just can't see anything to suggest he's the man
But its all about opinions have a great xmas and new year 👍👍

20 Dec 2017 12:24:35
I'd say he's transformed Killie, they were fighting the drop before he came. Have a good one yourself Dlc.

20 Dec 2017 08:36:00
Im in two minds about this Tony Pulls rumour. He did well at Stoke and WBA up until a point, he made them physical and hard to beat which was what they needed at the time. My issue is that even once theyd become safe midtable prem teams he never tried to expand his attacking options or pushed the boat out. Some of his team selections were embarrassingly defensive. We definitely could use his ability to turn us into a strong, solid side just now but I don't think he'd ever achieve

20 Dec 2017 11:21:23
That's because after they are mid table you come up against teams that are spending 150 million per transfer window. He's run riot up here. He would make us hard to beat (which we traditionally were) and organised. I sook aff the full Celtic squad to get him.

20 Dec 2017 12:34:22
C bear oooft that's not a picture i wanna see if we get pulis mate

20 Dec 2017 21:01:00
I accidentally posted my message before I'd finished it. I agree with the fact he was never going to compete with the big boys in the premiership but he never progressed his tactics as his teams grew in stature which is why he left both clubs. We need to be tougher to beat but a club like rangers should be blowing half the teams in this league away and I don't know if he can bring that to us down the line

20 Dec 2017 08:04:14
We had Lewis Morgan and Harry Cochrane in our youth set up and let them go. Looks like Morgan's going to Celtic where his chances of game time will be very limited. It seems strange that the two weren't identified by our coaches as worthy of keeping.

20 Dec 2017 09:57:03
What makes you think they were worth keeping?

20 Dec 2017 11:22:58
Although he scored against them I'd be stunned is Harry Cochrane made a decent career. Lewis Morgan looks decent enough but I'm sure leaving Rangers helped his career more than if he stayed with us.

20 Dec 2017 12:57:58
Nassau-Bear because they're probably the two best young Scottish players in our league. Calling occupants of interplanetary craft!

20 Dec 2017 17:39:56
Lewis Morgan agrees to sign for Celtic after a £300k bid accepted but loaned back to St Mirren for rest of season - another promising young talent missed out on. I'm sure our hard working DoF knows what he's doing tho.

20 Dec 2017 07:58:41
Just shows the level our game is regarded in the world of football these days. Chinese billionaire and a few other investors deciding that Barnsley is the team to invest in. Sad times.

20 Dec 2017 10:30:07
With the daft money down south and a team with potential for fans to come out the woodwork, and better chances of a decent return, why not?

20 Dec 2017 01:58:05
A lot of bears getting excited over the prospect of Pulis, I would include myself in that.

However, bearing in mind, the limited success of our boards relationships with previous managers and Tony Pulis's attempt to fraudulently line his own pocket whilst dragging Crystal Palace through the courts . is he worth the risk?

(Face it, you can't help but be paranoid as a Rangers fan nowadays)

So, what are your thoughts?
