Hello bears, does anyone know when we will find out if the Russians will have there visas on time!?

20 Aug 2018 22:13:36
Think we will find out tomorrow.

20 Aug 2018 22:52:16
Club has said they have no worries over visas. It's a media story blown out of proportion.

20 Aug 2018 22:59:21
They're leaving Russia on Wednesday morning so we'll know middle of tomorrow I'd reckon.

I'm still pretty positive it's a non story, the game will almost certainly happen as much as I'd love the bye so we can get a rest before the old firm game.

20 Aug 2018 23:32:26
Someone at the club has said the British media have misunderstood or misinterpreted what was originally said and that there is no issue at all. Although you'd expect them to deny any potential problems. My money is on the games going ahead as normal.

21 Aug 2018 12:58:52
There was never any cgance of this game not going ahead. Just a load of nonsense.

20 Aug 2018 20:41:32
Russian visas are sorted after Coulibaly called the home office.

20 Aug 2018 21:56:23
Class but expected.

20 Aug 2018 20:32:43
Ejaria is getting a fair amount of stick on here and just seen him branded 'a total passenger'. 😂

Ladies and gents, I give you Josh Windass' replacement as fans whipping boy.

Because he doesn't go flying into tackles and likes to try a trick or two.

20 Aug 2018 20:50:50
Don’t think it’s like that people have an opinion on him and a lot don't rate him. It’s nothing sinister just their opinions don’t know why people want to try and demonise them for it.

20 Aug 2018 20:59:54
Fantastic young player.

20 Aug 2018 21:03:47
I think it's the fact he takes too many touches before releasing the ball that annoys most fans. Slows it down too much. And whether it matters or not socks rolled down posing has bad connotations. Pull your socks up and get stuck in.

20 Aug 2018 21:23:07
BearMode, For some reason the Gers support including myself never took to Windass. I was glad to see him leave and do believe he wasn’t good enough for Glasgow Rangers! I always felt he went missing in games and also had a chip on his shoulder and I do believe his career will stall. Stevie G never tried that hard to keep him🇬🇧🌈.

20 Aug 2018 21:35:51
I totally agree with you yately 1 regarding windass! He was the invisible man in many games for us and simply like you stated, not good enough to play for glasgow rangers!

20 Aug 2018 22:28:31
It is all about opinions at the end of the day.

If he is good enough for Gerrard he is good enough for Rangers. I think he is a tidy football player and is still learning the game.

I refuse to believe that he is good enough to sign a 4 year extension at Liverpool but he is not good enough for Rangers.

20 Aug 2018 22:49:36
Yately, fair point mate!

I’m just having a laugh with the Windass thing anyways, only reason I brought him up Is because to be fair he was the whipping boy of last year 😂 Ejaria is taking a fair whack on here yesterday and today.

I just feel folk are too quick to jump on young players backs, we are unbeaten to far and young Ejaria has been a big part of the team since Gerrard came in. We should put trust in his process and get behind the young man.

20 Aug 2018 22:51:41
I don't think it's right that Ejaria is starting to take the stick after only just been involved in a few games

Get off the boys back and start getting behind him!

The one's who are getting on his back after only about 6 games! Surely we are better than that?!

You have to question are you real Rangers fans or are you Celtic in disguise!

If he starts consistently underperforming then I can get that but he hasn't been that bad at all

GET A GRIP!

20 Aug 2018 23:10:22
BearMode literally just posted something similar before reading your post. I am readying this site thinking ‘did I watch the same game as these blokes? ’. As for taking too many touches I think he plays acute little one twos when there is an opportunity to exploit of turn a man. As I said above Halliday played well so the ignorants need someone else to bash, enter Ejaria.

21 Aug 2018 01:29:39
Poseidon. So if someone has a different opinion of player than you do that means they are ignorant? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion whether you agree with it or not.

21 Aug 2018 04:02:35
Parky happy to dispute and have a discussion on players but i would go as far as to say Ejarias performance against Killie was outstanding. In other games he has maybe been less impressive but to slate his performance against Killie I feel is wrong.

21 Aug 2018 07:07:48
Want to know how good Ejaria is? Want to know why he's in the team? Record a game and follow him. Watch his movement his running his passing. His work ethic is massive always trying to stop the opponent from progressing up the park. Someone said he constantly gives the ball away. Naw he constantly keeps it. A Graeme Souness type and quite obviously a Gerrard type. Ryan Jack have the ball away more often in Maribor. Scott Arfield gave it away more at Killie. Gerrard has given him a role to play and he is doing it to the letter.

21 Aug 2018 07:49:28
Agree BearMode 😀🇬🇧🇬🇧.

21 Aug 2018 08:00:04
Ejaria is technically very good. Great workrate and always looking to pass forward. Once he gets up to full speed and cuts out the silly mistakes he’ll be first class. I doubted him early on but did say he needs 12 games to properly bed in in our league. SG clearly thinks the same and that's what matters.

21 Aug 2018 15:23:41
I thought he did fine Sunday and he still gets pelters. Some of our fans have a habit of writing players off too quick. It was only a few weeks back loads of folk were wanting rid of morelos.

21 Aug 2018 21:06:27
Yass andyskip . your best post to date well said 👍👍.

20 Aug 2018 20:17:25
Hi everybody hat's off to Morelos on sunday worked his socks off and fully deserved his hat-trick our Serio Aguero in the making just keep at it wee man ⚽️⚽️⚽️.

20 Aug 2018 21:04:48
J. F. Y. I. he scored 4 :)

20 Aug 2018 21:24:43
Hes was brillant thought arfield had a good game.

20 Aug 2018 20:15:48
Anyone know if they game will be on tv on Thursday?

20 Aug 2018 21:24:58
Hope so.

20 Aug 2018 19:40:42
Hello Ed, I'd like to carry out a poll please.

What forwards would you like to see at Ibrox?

Kyle Lafferty
Dominic Solanke
Both.

{Ed033's Note -

Rangers Forwards Poll

20 Aug 2018 20:10:43
hi ed can you adjust that poll

Kyle Lafferty
Dominic Solanke
Both
i think to be fair we need an neither in ther also.

{Ed033's Note - Neither added

20 Aug 2018 20:37:13
Can we have a neither selection please.

20 Aug 2018 20:38:16
Sorry Kaz,

Neither for me.

Solanke has done zero in his career to merit a move! Although Lafferty would be a decent addition, I feel there are better options out there.
I’d like us to look at a more experienced striker, someone that can tutor Morelos and Sadiq.
I’d like to see Darren Bent at Ibrox, give SG some time to get him back in to shape, he’d be lethal.

20 Aug 2018 22:15:32
Darren bent 😂 lol.

20 Aug 2018 22:54:49
Darren Bent You talking about the one that was good about 15 year ago Away and boil your heed 🤣😂.

20 Aug 2018 22:56:36
Tammy Abraham for me He is better than Solanke

I would also like to see Kyle Lafferty aswell.

20 Aug 2018 23:19:13
Darren nent been offered a pay as you play deal by burton albion. Would be terrible signing. Marcus gayle more mobile.

20 Aug 2018 23:33:59
You don't want solanke or lafferty but you want darren bent🙃.

21 Aug 2018 20:51:21
I don’t get the Solanke or Tammy Abraham lovers! Both have done absolutely nada! Abraham was absolutely garbage at Swansea last year!

20 Aug 2018 19:13:39
Russians reckon there will be no visa problems for Thursday according to Herald.

20 Aug 2018 17:27:55
Not too keen on Ross McCormack, didn't make the grade on his first spell . apparently caused bother else where and seemingly a lazy wee get! I don't think his character fits in with the type of players Steven Gerrard has been bringing in. Not to mention the wee cretin thought it would be funny to diss rangers once he left declaring his affinity with the unwashed.

20 Aug 2018 17:48:05
I remember it well, a 2 page spread in the daily record, “I can now declare my love for Celtic”.

20 Aug 2018 16:52:16
Can we get a poll going to see how many would rather play fc ufa and how many would rather get the bye.

{Ed033's Note -

FC Ufa Poll

20 Aug 2018 17:08:20
Let’s play the tie, have another full house and keep the momentum going, get through it then enjoy what the group stages will bring in revenue and full houses. The old firm game will look after itself!

20 Aug 2018 17:19:07
What about a poll to see how many would rather play all our league matches and how many would like us to be handed the title!

FFS children!

20 Aug 2018 17:58:04
Want the tie to go ahead as still need the cash that a full ibrox will generate. All goes into the pot for more exciting signings.

20 Aug 2018 19:59:15
Ufa lost 3.0 at home to Dynamo Moscow . hope their heads are Down what will h the travel etc. with a bit of luck we could get 3 by them without reply.

20 Aug 2018 21:51:32
I think we should have a poll to see if we need a poll 😂😂.

20 Aug 2018 16:45:50
Is there any news on Murphys injury?

20 Aug 2018 17:20:56
Out for 6 months according to reports. Knee ligament damage.

20 Aug 2018 17:36:20
they’ll wait for swelling to go down so MRI scan is as accurate as possible

we’ll prob know in a few days.

20 Aug 2018 20:21:23
It’ll be Thursday or Friday before we here anything.

20 Aug 2018 15:48:17
Some thoughts on the Europa League tie against FC Ufa (assuming the visa issue is resolved) . If we get a decent first leg lead, say 3-0, should we rest the likes of McGregor, Jack, Arfield, Morelos and Tavernier for the second leg in view of the manky mob game on the Sunday? Should we also rest Goldson and play McCrorie at the back? What do you think Bears?

20 Aug 2018 16:24:41
no no no, sorry but i'd rather make the groups and get some money than beat the mhanky mob on the sunday.

20 Aug 2018 16:33:10
Doiger no way, match 3pm kick off so saying home for midnight, let's not look for excuses
We need to play best team available for europa league.
Benefits of europa league better than one game against them. Still 34 league matches if required.

20 Aug 2018 16:46:39
Think gerrard will manage the squad well. If and its a big If we take a big lead to Russia i'm sure some players could be rested. However I think we will probs still have a big task to do in Russia and in that case play full strength. The players will have the day off on Friday and will probably on train very light on Saturday so more than enough time to recover for sunday.

20 Aug 2018 16:54:18
Lets get thru in Europe then worry about mankie mob.
Love European nights at the brox🇬🇧.

20 Aug 2018 19:09:26
DOIGER - Am beginning to worry about you son!
This team ARE NO MUGS! 3-0 would love it but is a very big ask for a good result of any kind.
THEN to rest half the first team in the away game, have I entered the twilight zone?

20 Aug 2018 20:26:15
Its all about a squad of players BAR72, not only 11 players. No need to worry about me, I can look after myself thanks!

20 Aug 2018 15:44:10
Ufa Director has denied claims they may have to forfeit the match on Thursday. He has claimed our media is 'confused'.

Aye, that's one way to put it.

20 Aug 2018 16:34:09
Bearmode surely he is not suggesting they make up stories about us.

20 Aug 2018 20:26:01
Surely no😂.

20 Aug 2018
New image uploaded to the
Rangers Player Sightings page entitled, When Coulibaly steals your Lego

20 Aug 2018 14:19:56
The fact is that players unused to plastic pitches get injured can't be disputed. On top of that it gives the home team a massive and unfair advantage and shouldn't play any part of the top level of Scottish football.

20 Aug 2018 16:17:56
totally agree and it also makes our so called top flight league look mickey mouse, ban them all they are a joke.

20 Aug 2018 16:48:10
Livingston is a prime example of how this is wrong. They literally put down the pitch this season. The SFA shouldn't have allowed this with them joining the premiership this season. In my opinion they put it down to give themselves a sporting advantage and to try and stay up.

20 Aug 2018 13:46:28
Another positive performance against a team we struggled against last season. Plenty of different options with Gerrard definitely getting an improvement out of certain players.

The Buffalo is absolutely flying at the minute. But wouldn’t mind the Ulster Gazelle or A.N. Other being brought in to help him out.
Onwards and upwards. Long way to go but signs are looking good for the season ahead.
When do I dare to start dreaming?
Let’s Go! #55🔴⚪️🔵.

20 Aug 2018 14:18:32
Don't dream until you're asleep, UnionJack. I for one won't get ahead of myself until we're above them in the league with no games left.

20 Aug 2018 13:33:57
Really pleased with the result yesterday, with 3 of our standout players so far missing I was concerned that Killie would turn us over after being so impressive last season under Clarke. Only time will tell how much of a yard stick this is on our improvement but for now it’s all about Thursday, hopefully Coulibaly will be back and Kent can move to the left of the attack (I’d love Middleton but no way can I see SG throwing him in) . Can’t see much business being done before Thursday but if Lafferty is what the manager feels is required then I’d like him in for the Motherwell game and hopefully another couple on deadline day, CB and CF.

20 Aug 2018 13:24:07
Need to laugh at some folk honestly, Some comedians on here.

Ejaria isn't in the team to be smashing people and winning the ball. He's a composed link up players who adds a perfect balance to the side. Rather than watching the ball watch Ejaria and don't take your eyes off him.

His movement to create space for other players when he's not on the ball is class. He will take the ball anywhere on the park with any amount of opposition around him.

If anybody honestly can't see what a player this young lad is then you have no real football knowledge. 9 games unbeaten and flying.

We could do the treble and there would still be fans on here going mental and slagging players.

Here endith the lesson.

20 Aug 2018 13:56:31
I like Ejaria. He is a clever player and once he gets to grips with the hurly burly brand of football up here he will get even better. I remember Ray Wilkins saying it does take a bit of getting used to. But yes, Der goalie, I agree the boy is class.

20 Aug 2018 14:21:40
Wait a sec while i put on my huge clown shoes and big red nose. I agree there is a lot of skill and effort on and off the ball from Ejaria but if the OP can't see he gives the ball away far too often I suggest a visit to an optician.

20 Aug 2018 15:33:42
Der-goalie-1.

Brilliant post, you're spot on. A lot of people on here don't know much about the game tbh, or even sport in general. I'm just after replying to somebody on here earlier trying to say because Eddie Izzard can run 26 marathons in a row means Rangers should be able to deal with a busy schedule.

Absolute madness. The comparison between the two are not even close, hardly even knew where to start.

20 Aug 2018 16:02:40
My problem with him is his stupid wee turns on the spot and daft wee flicks in defensive midfield area. he's been caught on the ball there far too many times already and its stupid little mistakes like that which will cost us. He has been lucky we have been playing average opposition but won't get away with it vs celtic or the EL groups if we make it. He is a luxury player that isn't suited to this league.

20 Aug 2018 16:50:28
Jury is still out on him for me. Think he shows glimpsies of quality and is always looking for space and the ball. However I think he is still a bit raw and his decision making at times is poor. That will come with experience. For me when everyone is fully fit he comes out of the side however I think he is a valuable member of the squad.

20 Aug 2018 17:02:19
Exactly muir. Nobody is denying he's a player but he can't be getting caught on the ball every game (which he has so far) if he does it again st celtic and costs us a goal he will get crucified on here, only reason not much is getting made of it the now is because luckily it's not cost us a goal yet. If he learns to do it at the right times he will be fine just needs to cut outd trying it so close to our owe goal.

20 Aug 2018 17:57:03
Ejaria has great workrate and is technically very good. Once he is fully up to speed with our game and he keeps it simple he will be a huge asset. I’m sure SG and all the coaching staff agree. I 100% agree far to many on here have absolutely NO clue about coaching or identityfying talent but they are entitled to an opinion wherher we agree with them or not.

20 Aug 2018 18:13:31
Spot on Bluepete.

The boy has talent but he’s a weak link in our team and setup, he should be behind the striker not coming from deep. I would swap him with Arfield looks better to me. However SG is the man and we are playing well.

Still feel we need a more creative CM.

21 Aug 2018 01:15:42
Bluepete your red nose and big feet? Have you always been a 🤡 clown.

Premier League Preview Crystal Palace v Liverpool 20 August 2018

20 Aug 2018 12:37:57
{Ed's Note - Reid the Red has posted a new article entitled, Premier League Preview Crystal Palace v Liverpool 20 August 2018

20 Aug 2018 11:33:02
just a thought here guys would anyone else like to see all the loanees we have be signed full time.

as for me I would love it, means the team gels and profitable money in all the loanees. no disruption in them leaving after a year. ( although we could sign them and done one wants to buy them) but it's not even half way into the season and we look solid.

thoughts?

20 Aug 2018 11:56:00
Not been taken with ejaria if I'm being honest. Hope he doesn't have a clause that means he must play as I think we have better options in there when everyone is fit.

20 Aug 2018 13:21:30
Coulibaly yes, the verdict is still out on Kent, Ejaria looks technically good but he gives the ball away far too cheaply in dangerous areas and puts our defenders under pressure. Yesterday was the best I’ve seen him however. I do think there is a clause that has him playing a certain number of games and that’s why he’s been in the team non stop. Maybe we won’t see him as much later in the season and it’ll be Jack, Coulibaly and Arfield as the midfield three.

20 Aug 2018 14:10:31
Blue89, these are the midfield 3 in my top team, Ejaria is versatile though and injuries will crop up, if we were going to the discodome tomorrow they’d be my 3 if fit!

20 Aug 2018 17:03:30
Definately got to be jack arfield and coulibally.

20 Aug 2018 09:42:51
With the current debate about plastic pitches, does anyone know whether Scotland stands along in their use in the top league or is it similar in other European countries?

Does UEFA specify grass pitches or have a list of acceptable plastic pitches?

20 Aug 2018 10:17:47
A lot of Russian and Scandinavian teams have them. Probably because their climate is Antarctic most of the time. Its more to do with the upkeep of pitches plus every club must have under soil heating in the Spfl. Also these teams hire the pitch out for 4/ 5 days of the week to draw in extra income. However clubs like ourselves and Celtic who spend millions on players have a right to be upset as every year we get injuries caused by them. Not only that the quality of football on show is dire because the ball bobbles all over the place. Its time for the top teams in Scotland to take action.

20 Aug 2018 10:43:18
Unfortunately all this boils down to income.

The Livingstons, Kilmarnocks and Hamilton’s of the game can not afford home games to be called off. Especially if it was one of the old firm visiting. Colsters point about hiring out is also sadly very true. The pitch gets divided up in to several 7 aside pitched and the club charges an hour fees to regular guys like me and you to have a kick about! This purely generates extra money!

My opinion is plastic pitches in the Premier League shouldn’t be allowed. The pitch should have undersoil heating, adequate drainage and full time ground staff.
We are talking about possible career ending injuries here if the trend of plastic pitches continue. I think the SFA still have a criteria on premier league stadia, grass pitches has to be added to the list.

The other argument is that SKY, BT don’t give us enough money, that’s another argument for another day.

20 Aug 2018 10:54:57
There climate is 'Antarctic'? haha.

20 Aug 2018 11:11:15
Good debate about plastic pitches. Surely the SFA could give teams a grant to install under-soil heating? What do they do with all their money?

20 Aug 2018 11:14:12
'There' hahha.

20 Aug 2018 13:02:28
Doiger

I’ve said many times about how the SFA don’t do enough to help the “smaller” clubs of our league.

The sad reality is I can only see things getting worse, I fear Ross County, ICT, Dundee, Patrick Thistle might follow suit and go for the astro.

20 Aug 2018 13:22:56
The problem is the SFA don't have the money to pay for these grass pitches, its too late now i'm afraid. Teams coming up from the championship will have astroturf and it costs thousands to replace these pitches with the grass. Teams will lose transfer budget and maybe even have money problems if they are required to have grass pitches. As much as we hate them and as much as we know they cause injury we have to make do with it because it isn't going to change.

20 Aug 2018 13:49:45
Dunfermline I was being sarcastic.

20 Aug 2018 08:34:50
UFA fc have begun selling tickets on their official website for the home game v the bears.

Personally, I think this is just another made up story, where perhaps one or two players or officials were maybe awaiting one, and they’ve run with the whole team.

We might not have the squad for a long run in both Europe and the SPL, but I’m enjoying supporting the bears in Europe once again.

20 Aug 2018 07:42:12
It is a shame about Murphy's injury. Does anyone know the situation regarding Dorrans and Rossiter and when they might be fit? Also, we need Couilbally (spelling, sorry) back. Halliday looks as if he will be a useful squad player this season when injuries hit the team.

20 Aug 2018 09:26:17
I completely agree with you DOIGER, regarding Halliday being a good back up squad player. He can play in multiple different positions. He is not the most gifted player in the squad, and he knows that, but he always gives us his all. Some of the flack he gets on these pages sometimes borders on hysteria. Remember, no team in the world can have 11 superstars all the time, they also need hard working grafters. END OF RANT.

20 Aug 2018 09:36:02
Well said Hoof! If some of the other players we had before Gerrard arrived had given half the effort that Halliday puts in we'd be in a better position now!

20 Aug 2018 11:07:45
I dread to think of rossiter or Dorrans pkaying on a plastic surface. the ufa pitch is plastic btw.

20 Aug 2018 12:48:53
Certain players can't be risked to play on plastic pitches which means some clubs can't put their best team out on the park. Surely that can't be allowed to happen. Think it's time someone in authority has a look at this.

Review Of The Day 20th August 2018

20 Aug 2018 07:29:10
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 20th August 2018

20 Aug 2018 00:14:41
Interested in people's opinions, if Jamie Murphy is going to be out for a long spell do we need to bring in another body? If so whose the player in mind?

20 Aug 2018 01:15:14
Jones.

20 Aug 2018 10:55:41
Yes for sure.

20 Aug 2018 13:56:42
I would rather see Middleton getting used.

20 Aug 2018 14:19:34
There are other more important areas we need players for. We've got Kane and Middleton and if Lafferty arrives he can do a job wide left too. Another player for that position would be about fourth or fifth on my wish list.

20 Aug 2018 14:55:46
Jamie walker - cheap replacement and knows the Scottish game - if I remember right he had a decent goals v game ratio for hearts in final season.
