Rumour floating around that we have hired Craig Flannigan as the new head of sports science is now being reported by the Daily Record. Working his notice now after we offered him a job.

Hope Stubbs is fuming.

Buy lionbrand merchandise and keep money in rangers. Check it out!

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Aug 2015 09:53:32
I am yet to be convinced about the Lionbrand. A lot of unhappy bears on Twitter asked them to produce accounts showing profits going to the club, they have yet to evidence this despite numerous requests. Furthermore under the Sports Direct contact Rangers still need to pay for unsold merchandise, so whether fans buy official merchandise of Lionbrand Sports Direct and Ashley still get their money. Ashley simply does not care his pocket is getting lined anyway. Shambles of a contract.

We will for a fact beat this Celtic team their defence is rotten and signing 3 Dundee Utd average players plus Allan is their level now they could have invested millions but chose to stagnate instead. They cannot even coplete simple 5 to 10 yard passes.

I have a fortune already on through myself and family on Rangers winning 2016/7 SPFL it is a certainty under W&W we already look a good team think how tight a unit we will be after a season training against the teams in Championship it is effectively a 9 month pre-season with 2 signing windows. The best thing ever to happen to Rangers was being humped by Motherwell in playoffs

Believable4 Unbelievable14

20 Aug 2015 14:06:15
I'm not going to Sat we wouldn't beat then because it's football and anything can happen but, it would be extremely difficult, Scott Brown as much of a erse he is, is the difference when they lose Scott Brownthey are going to struggle to replace him massively. But unless we find someone with the tenacity ofhim I think they would be favoured.

Agree3 Disagree3

20 Aug 2015 14:23:28
We already have someone who has that tenacity and work-rate, Andy Halliday.

Kt. things are looking up for us.i see it as a big jigsaw puzzle.from team to board, scouting, stadium repair, the whole cheebang.the team is stabalised, and we can concentrate more on football matters for a change.theres still a lot of work to be done, this will happen over time.get championship out the way,buy the end of the football year we will no how close or far we are from celtic.

Agree4 Disagree2

20 Aug 2015 18:07:27
KT. You are so far off the mark it is hilarious. Celtic are 1 game away from the Champions League and the millions that go with that. All they require is a draw away at Malmo. We are a million miles from that level. Things are looking better on the pitch but we are yet to face decent opposition. Sunday will be our first big test but still will not be an indication of how we will fare in the premiership. I like your optimism but let's not get completely carried away.

Agree4 Disagree2

20 Aug 2015 18:57:15
KT aren't these some of the same Dundee United players who have knocked Rangers out of the Scottish Cup three times in recent years?

Agree4 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 19:08:15
It's ok saying that, but first the team needs to get used to playing teams at a slightly higher level. It may be that this team could easily go on and win the spl or it may be that they would fall short, it's all about how they progress as footballers. But the important thing is, warburton n weir will work hard with these young lads that we have and will strive to improve them as footballers. But one thing I do agree with u in, is that celtic shouldn't be feared. When the 2 clubs competed against each other, they were regularly getting into the champions league. Now they are struggling every year and persist on selling their best players every season, so I don't think the margin is as wide as everybody thinks. If aberdeen could give them a challenge last year, then I think we could easily challenge within maybe 2 or 3 years

Agree1 Disagree3

20 Aug 2015 20:30:25
Gaz I believe that was when rangers had McCoist at the helm and when we had a team of overpaid failures. Ohh how things have changed.

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Aug 2015 00:19:22
True onlyshow I also believe at Celtic those players are surrounded by better team mates than they had at Tannadice. The thing I notice in here recently is that it's presumed Rangers are the only team capable of improvement and gelling. Celtic a year ago to right now, miles apart, same with Rangers no doubt.

Hi all, this is my first post been reading for a while though. Just like to say well done to the Gers for a great start to the season. Night and day between the last few years. Respectful, intelligent modern management team, young hungry players all trying to play the game as it should be and Ibrox full and bouncing again. Happy days.
Would love a crack at any team from SPFL in the cups, think we would give any of them a run for their money and can't wait to wipe the smirk off Stubbs's classless face on Sunday.

Well done Mr Warburton who has always shown respect to other teams, in telling Stubbs to shut his mouth and concentrate on his own team and let MW worry about his finally a manager who is sticking up for our club in a respectful manner Stubbs just showing he has no class and trying to set up his excuses early I really hope we hammer Hibs on Sunday and don't take our foot off the gas this time.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

20 Aug 2015 07:30:12
Stubbs is an idiot. He's says Warbs job is easy as he has money to spend. Warbs has spent less than £1M on players in transfer fees. Stubbs is a shambles thinks he provoke and upset our team with stupid remarks because his team which cosy more to build can't beat us on the park. I hope we destroy them on Sunday shut this bafoon up.

Hibs have taken in very near half of what we spent on our whole team,so will the hibs board give Stubbs the sa money to buy 4or 5 players like we have done, they know they could not attract the type of players our club have brought in,due to the hatred they have shown towards us recently I hope they don't make the play offs.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2015 08:38:06
To be honest Stubbs was right to an extent. I do believe it has been easy for Warburton to improve Rangers. A good manager was bound to improve upon the disaster that the previous management team left. However he was wrong to say that Rangers have spent lots of money as I think we have only spent about £600k and the wage bill has been reduced

21 Aug 2015 10:10:08

So I decided to watch the Basel game and rangers game at the same time, the only thing I have to say is scottish refs are pathetic at best. Those who watched the Basel game will know what I mean. Those who seen the Rangers game know exactly what I'm on about. Extremely poor standard.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

20 Aug 2015 08:49:50
talking of extremely poor standard - long post, but I feel better for it :-)
I took a walk on the dark side last night and watched the Malmo game. Then had a look at the Celtic rumours page! a couple of things:-
1 I don't like PLawell, but no-one can deny that he has run Celtic properly (it would seem!) - there are guys on there that want rid of him!
2 It looks like they have just cottoned on to the 'biscuit tin' financials. Very little money to spend -limit 3-4mill - mystery strikers, defenders, midfielders , who always get mentioned before big games, but never quite appear at Phead.
3 Where in gods name do they get the idea that VVD is worth north of 10mill??. I hope these BPL teams looking at him ask to see his last 3 or 4 european games.
4 After 20 mins they were blowing out their ar*es. Malmo got a grip of the game, and if it wasn't for Gordon & a couple of poor finishes, they would have been in more trouble, than they are already in.

I know we are far from perfect & I'm sure some of the regulars will remind me of the fact we are in the Championship etc etc etc., but I feel even more positive now about the W&W revolution.
Onward & upward guys - starting Sunday, another wee win would be very nice.

Bil72! Don't talk one load of pish! After 20 min we were blowing out our arse and Malmo got a grip of the game! Haha! Aye rite pal! And let's not be talkin about anything to do with finances pal! After the embarrassment Uve made of urselfs involving finance! Like I said last nite, the 2 teams on that pitch would wipe the floor with your mob! Just u stick to watchn the petrofact cup and leave the real football to us! Your literally not in the same league as The champs on and off the park! So like I said u just stick to waiting for the draw for the petrofact cup and we'll stick to playin in completions people actually give a toss about! Many times u won that cup by the way? Hahaha

Agree4 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 10:24:32
Dh88 don't be such a douche, it was a very poor result. Why does your manager insist on playing Armstrongas a winger? why has a left back, centre back and striker not been signed(except from Mr to bitey) . Why waste money on your already overstocked attacking midfield. Your 10 million pound centre back who doesn't know how to mark a man . Your so quick to come on here usually asking questions of us yet your team is hardly perfect. If you get through well done if you don't then where is the progress from Neil lennons side? They are fitter? Wow.

Agree1 Disagree4

20 Aug 2015 10:25:57

Dh88 - - no surprises on your rant there then! get that raw nerve seen to at the same time the chip on your shoulder gets polished up.

After the first 15 minutes , you were rank rotten, the fans knew it (those that turned up) RD knew it (does he have any fingernails left) JC probably knew it (but he's been told to button it) & most of all Malmo knew it.

good luck next week - honestly you will need it with that defence.

as for the Rangers - we are where we are -we will beat what is put in front of us and continue to get better & better.
Can't help but feel there's a wee fear factor creeping in out East.

20 Aug 2015 13:38:36
Onlyshow some remarkable coincidences on the go here, Rangers last CL adventure was in the final round of qualifiers too, it was a home first leg tie, it was also against a Swedish team, in fact they were both against Malmo. There the comparisons end however, we won 3-2, you lost 1-0 but more importantly given your rather ill thought out jibe, your attendance was 28,828, ours, last night, was 52,412. Now when our "non-sell out" gets a bigger attendance than the capacity of Ibrox I'm really not bothering to be perfectly honest if we don't sell the place out and if the best you can do is bring highlight to something where such an easy comparison of the differing fortunes of the clubs is, then I do not get bitter I applaud you for drawing it to everyone's attention. We are not talking apples and pears here after all, we are talking both home first, both playing Malmo and the difference of 24,000 fans and us getting a crowd you can't even dream of, thanks onlyshow you do better Celtic PR than even I can. :)

Agree7 Disagree2

20 Aug 2015 15:14:40
Gaz if youse do get put out next week what do you think your next home game will be,maybe 20 thousand and dwindling thereafter, that would be my prediction, but hey we don't worry about youse, may I suggest you do likewise.

Agree0 Disagree4

20 Aug 2015 16:02:15
Malmo boss said he could tell from the Inverness game Celtic were a 60 minute team, they hit an hour and the tiredness sets in they have no running left in their legs. you look at our lads 93 minute still trying to score goals, serious lack of fitness in the Celtic camp. Reckon its a holiday park.

Agree1 Disagree4

20 Aug 2015 17:16:11
billybluenose your post has "if" and "prediction" in it, I'm dealing in accuracy and facts, get back to me when they are either. They might go down, your own club is more than familiar with this of course and like yourself a good chunk of cash is tied up in season ticket money so it is cash we kind of already have irrespective of the actual crowd of a day and regardless of next week we still have at least 3 more home european games which will see us still earn some dough, you, after a scottish cup or league cup defeat have the mighty petrofac as a customer appeaser, lucky you.

sirdavieofnonsense several papers have reported Celtic's late goals in European games since Deila took over, scored 7 (including late winner in the last round v qarabag - explain that one genius?) and let in 9. 7-9 is hardly overwhelming evidence of tiredness but it was anti Celtic therefore you took it as gospel I presume.

Agree3 Disagree1

20 Aug 2015 18:55:40

Agree0 Disagree2

20 Aug 2015 19:25:31
Jeezo gaz how much bonus money do you want your club to give desmond and his cronies, because let's face it, that's the only place the money is going. If you're happy with the way celtic are being run then that's your choice but personally I'd want a bit more from my club after the profits that have been reported over the last 5 years. N as for leaving the real football to celtic DH88, if u's consider a champions league qualifier against Malmö as real football then that just shows you how far u'r club has sunk. A few years ago u's were beating Barcelona at the piggery and nowadays u's push your luck against the likes of Malmö. Defo not much to fear from the beasty mob from the east.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Aug 2015 19:38:05
Billybluenose I did you a favour, I'm reckoning studying, researching and maths aren't your strong points. We played 4 Europa League games last season, pulling in 159,000 for those 4 games, so just under 40,000 a game on average, which is still a load more than your paltry 28,000 v Malmo in your last CL effort, in fact not one of those games got less than 32,000. Do you want to try again or is stubborn, dumb and pointless where your real strong points lie?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 19:51:29
Thebears where have I said I am happy? We've been screaming out for a left back for seasons as far as I'm concerned and it's not the only position that could do with improving. My contribution initially to this thread was over some garbage about attendances that onlyshow posted, nowt about being thrilled by the team, I'm not.

But I don't presume to know the overall game plan, I know there have been profits announced year on year, hard enough in this day and age, I know they have what seems manageable Co-Op debt and I know domestic football is bringing in washers. Are they literally doing enough to win at home and put up a fight to qualify for the CL only? Are they saving cash for you coming back, any splurge more than countered by a warchest horded? I don't know. I know there are not too many idiots running the club and the premise buy young, develop, sell on is working, all too well arguably as there is a damn good team that has left us in recent years probably (again without a left back lol).

So I'm not thrilled but let's face it we have an unfettered run at the CL every year, 2/3 has been a good return and even in the failed year we got to last 32 of EL and Euro football till February but I am more of the speculate to accumulate type myself and last year and perhaps this have been struggles due to a lack of initial investment.
