Nicola sturgeon has basically written off any football anytime soon closed doors or not
Lot of clubs will. go bust n next season likely to be impacted never mind the current one.

20 Apr 2020 18:59:20
Not bothered if they go bust, nobody gave a hoot when we nearly went to the wall, they only want us for our blue pound so sod them, petty rubbishty wee clubs, hate every one of them, not one showed us any sympathy so safe me the begging bowl, i am only interested in Rangers, even if we had to start in the English 3rd Division, it would be preferable to playing with this load of backstabbing two faced crooks, Only Rangers for me Always.

20 Apr 2020 19:20:50
and they can take their plastic pitches with them.

20 Apr 2020 19:25:17
Spot on billy.

20 Apr 2020 19:36:19
I think it will all depend if the SNP devolved NHS in Scotland can get this virus under control.
Then we may see a phased relaxation of the lockdown rules. 👍.

20 Apr 2020 19:56:31
BRAVO Billyblackpool .

Well said and I bet all Rangers fans will agree with you.

Karma, to the self centred rat clubs who tried to make us extinct.

20 Apr 2020 20:00:36
Sporting events away down the list lot more important things that take priority.

20 Apr 2020 20:08:44
Goodwill to all men season well and truly over I see! I personally wouldn’t want to see any team go down the pan because of circumstances completely out with their control.

20 Apr 2020 20:11:17
Billly what makes you think we won't be one of them needed ten million to finish season and if no season book money we will be in the same boat and the guy who was meant to invest 20plus million has gone of the radar.

20 Apr 2020 20:27:35
Nicola Sturgeon? Aye okay!

20 Apr 2020 21:14:08
Big blue bear, i honestly don't think we will ever be in that position again financially, once bitten twice shy, we have learned lessons, and us fans can ensure by way of a shares issue we stump up, no point beating about the bush, we were as much to blame, we never gave as much as we could, not beating on our fans, but i genuinely believe our support though a knight in shining armour was going to turn up and sort us out, like Mr McColl. If we are in trouble we should all stump up, along with our wealthy so called fans, i paid a direct debit every month to our legal support, next time i know i will give more, the other clubs only have their own selves to blame, they rubbish on us at every chance, sympathy for the fans maybe, but as clubs sod them.

20 Apr 2020 21:20:15
Billy. Your now contradicting the club who wants prizecmoneybpaid out for the sake of scottish football. I said the exact same as you last week as why would or should rangers want prize money paid out to help the others after what they all done in 2012. I just don't get the clubs stance on this.

20 Apr 2020 21:24:25
mcoll would not part with the drippings off his nose.

20 Apr 2020 21:53:56
They all forget we gave them all a big pay day on the way back up.

20 Apr 2020 22:59:07
Billy, I've been saying the same on here for years, mate, big blue bear. What are you all about, I've never seen a positive thing ever being type by you, pal, are you on the right site.

20 Apr 2020 23:57:00
Rangers are desperate for the money just like them. Biggest contradiction here is wanting the league null and void but wanting the prize money. Alarm bells. Fans will be asked to stump up again.

21 Apr 2020 10:01:06
And the Tims aren't Martinbhoy?
First club to beg Boris for the Tory Furlough.
Celtic players took forever to agree to a wage deferral - wonder why?
I think you have to question your own supposedly cash rich clubs quick reaction? 🤔.

21 Apr 2020 18:52:06
its their hidden debt tupac. keep taking the money and not reducing their mortgage.

22 Apr 2020 00:20:04
Plus bomber brown won 17 major honours at ibrox, wiping the floor with any left back since him, very underrated in my opinion, we’re always talking lately how we need to sign proven winners, guys who can go the distance, handle the pressure etc etc, bomber brown epitomises that for me and for me is completely underated especially given his achievements.

22 Apr 2020 07:55:58
Eric, yip mate, only paying the interest on the loan, an ever ending loan., .

20 Apr 2020 16:24:13
Which past players do you think never quite got the praise they deserved and who do you think were players who had potential but never quite fulfilled their potential?

1) I think that from years ago Stuart Munro was a bit underated

2) Brahim Hemdani was another player who I thought was underated. He was no world beater but when he played as an old fashioned sweeper I thought he done a great job.

3) Stevie Smith was a player that I thought would have went on to better things.

20 Apr 2020 17:19:02
Gabriel Amato was a special player that wasn't here long enough. One of the most skillful players rangers have ever had imo. Going to be controversial and say Barry Ferguson should have went on to better things instead of going to Blackburn.

20 Apr 2020 17:31:13
Barry ferguson i agree chose wrong, when he went to blackburn rovers, because graeme souness was the manager there, at the time. Both liverpool and newcastle utd were also interested in signing baz and he should have waited and signed for one of those two much bigger clubs instead!

20 Apr 2020 18:31:40
Think the most underrated Ger in my lifetime has been Alex McDonald. Loved wee Doddy, in another era he would have been a Scotland regular.

20 Apr 2020 18:44:29
Bobby russell another one.

20 Apr 2020 20:10:37
Agree re Stewart Munro, if I’m right he signed from alloa as well, for about £30k? I thought Tugay was better than what I thought he was when he was with us. And I think of the abuse craig Moore used to get, and I watched that cup final re run when he was centre back against that lot with big Amo, I wish he was at centre half for us now.

20 Apr 2020 21:14:10
Bankie spot on. Wee Doddie was a hero of mine as well. Wonder what the wee man would cost in today’s transfer market?

21 Apr 2020 04:25:40
I see people mentioning Barry Ferguson but I thought the poll was underrated not overrated 🤔😂 ok I’ll give u Sebastian Rozental (injuries but looked great at times ) , John bomber brown everyone’s always talking about was papac, Numan, bjorkland, Davy Robertson or frank de boer etc our best left back, but bomber brown was solid lol 😂 I.

21 Apr 2020 12:51:55
Bankie, u r right re Doddie, however I don’t think he was underrated by the people who mattered. Ie the fans.
He played in a time when Scotland had some amazing midfielders.

21 Apr 2020 12:58:37
Tugay was a wonderful player. Dave Smith was the one outstanding player I remember (only 2 caps and both friendlies) he played during their 9 in a row era. He was a bit like mc stay a great player in the their right team but at the wrong time.

21 Apr 2020 14:32:04
I always liked Alec Clelland at right back, a good solid attacking full back, Tavernier could have learned a lot from him.

20 Apr 2020 15:28:49
Goram and laudrup x 4.

20 Apr 2020

Swap gio for ricksen and Walter as boss and I am same as John. Although would be funny watching a poor goalie deal with the hammer on a five a side game 🤣🤣.

20 Apr 2020 20:01:49
Goram, Gough, Souness, Gascoigne and McCoist.

20 Apr 2020 20:03:36

20 Apr 2020 12:11:01
I also have a wee question for buzz and co.
This post isn't a dig at Celtic it's about both our clubs and their futures

With all the talk of Rangers going into admin x2 from certain sections of your own site.

I would like you to have a wee look again at the numbers for both clubs as it makes quite interesting reading.

Now with the recent speculation announced yesterday by the SFA that football that attended by fans could be as faraway as xmas or poss till a vaccine is found for this virus.

So let's start:

Point 1. celtics profit margins are greatly reduced when they don't qualify for the CL like this year and on most occasions in the past, they have sold one of their prized assets to make up for this loss.

Point 2. The running costs of the club excluding wages ie ground upkeep ect are prob similar to ours.

Point 3. I will agree with most Celtic fans with regard to celtic have an advantage over us in respect that they have a buffer of 30 million in the bank.

Point 4. Now here is the kicker now bearing in mind that both sets of players, directors management and staff have agreed to take a pay cut, however this isn't as clear as it sounds as both clubs, will still need to make these payments in full as the paycut is only a deferral.

Point 5. For Celtic no CL money, Adidas contract in doubt due to their financial troubles, which may result in no merchandise revenue. A wage bill of 59 million, which I agree will reduce slightly with the Furough scheme. No gate money or hospitality. Poss no season ticket revenue if the predictions of no attended games for another 8 month poss more. Are you all still with me.

Now b4 I get all they usual replies about our club will face the same situations and loss of revenue, which i totally agree with but the main difference is that our wage bill is 34.5 mill vs Celtic 59 million.

Bang goes most your 30 mill in bank. I. E the bigger the business from a financial point of view, the bigger the hit.

Bigger picture both clubs are going to struggle if this as predicted runs for most of next season.

I will not even go into how the smaller clubs are going to cope, but I guess their wage bills and running costs will be significant lower than both of our clubs.

From my own clubs point of view for the past 8 season Rangers have been operating with a certain level of financial constraint and as a result of this. Imo, I would say that my club will have gained more experience in dealing with cost cutting measures than most clubs including Celtic.

20 Apr 2020 12:31:13
Stewarty, does that furlough scheme not limit the 80% payout to £250 per week per person.

I don't know for sure that's why I'm asking, but if it's correct what will happen to the mega bucks players wages will the clubs still have to make up the rest of these ridiculouse wages? .

20 Apr 2020 12:35:43
Stewart’s, the thing is BuzzBUM has now really become Rangers Rumours village idiot and is giving us all a decent laugh! He must be the thickest one yet😭😭😭🙃🇬🇧.

20 Apr 2020 12:54:49
It’s a fair point Stewarty, and I don’t think anyone knows the answer to this at the moment, including PL and DP. A lot depends on how long we’re shut down for and also how deep the pockets are of our respective owners. It will also depend on the contracts themselves and whether or not there are clauses that would allow us to terminate them. The players/ agents themselves may be willing to renegotiate them as they will be made aware that the alternative may be 5p in the pound from the liquidators. I notice PL has made a couple of derisory offers for players in the last few days which perhaps indicates that he believes the clubs from the big leagues are in a lot more trouble than we are and will be willing to sell for significantly reduced fees. Knowing PL, as we tims do, he’s as tight as. well I can’t really say on here but I think you know what I mean. I’d like to think he’s given some thought to how we balance the books if this lasts till beyond new year. It’s uncharted territory for everyone but if the Scottish clubs are prudent and take the right measures, we may all come out of it stronger than we went in.

20 Apr 2020 13:07:25
Celtic players and staff have volunteered to take a significant reduction in wages and also deferrals of a significant proportion of the remaining part of there wages. We'll be ok worry about yourselves.

20 Apr 2020 13:08:18
Blue billy 650 a week re furlough.

20 Apr 2020 13:41:45
Nevisboy, you are the one that’s trawling on a Rangers site. That’s obviously your Gers side coming out🇬🇧.

20 Apr 2020 13:53:05
Stewartyyblue, being totally honest here pal, i don't think the adidas contract with celtic will be in doubt. It may have a different payment structure but it will still be adidas making their new kits.

20 Apr 2020 17:12:02
Yately I just come on for a laugh, it cheers me up in these dark days take care.

20 Apr 2020 18:21:46
Celtic have paid £59 million the last couple of seasons because of their success. Celtic have won every domestic competition for the last 3 and a half years and with that comes win bonuses. Celtic win an average of 30 league games a season and with that comes win bonuses. The Celtic players at present are not even getting appearance money.

That £59 million you are getting excited about will probably half and the same will go for Sevco.

Celtic have also got a line of credit with the bank which they might have to use by the time we get back to playing. Your club Stewart don’t and if any of the 2 clubs are going to go into Administration I can assure you Stewart it won’t be my club.
If Celtic were that desperate for help they would only need to sound out the battle cry to our fans and we will run through a brick wall to come to their rescue if needed.

20 Apr 2020 19:19:21
Village Idiot 😂😂😂🇬🇧.

20 Apr 2020 19:21:40
Nevisbhoy, our player took the wage cut before your club did, so, like i always say, don't yous worry about us, because we don't worry about yous.

20 Apr 2020 19:34:04
Buzzbomb that brick wall might be too thick to run through! can you really see any family man/ woman If this goes on saying “you know what Celtic are in bother Think we’ll cut down on the heating and food for kids to help them out”! I know we as old firm fans are passionate but finances are going to be savaged moving forward
It’s like golf clubs there will be some go out of business as membership isn’t even on the radar for a lot of people just now.

20 Apr 2020 19:59:07
Thanks for the info John25

Cheers mate.

20 Apr 2020 14:01:45
Stewarty are you going for the record bites.

20 Apr 2020 20:01:15
SGL even with the adidas deal. That will give them an extra 6 mill per year plus sales but I'm guessing that this deal maybe rejigged if closed door policy is introduced. Their prob is their wage bill of 59 mill, with poss no other income other than the poss Adidas deal.

Nevis the vast majority of that 59 million, prob about 85% is wages for the players, management and directors, who are not eligible for the furlough scheme. The players management and directors have agreed to a reduction on their salaries, but this reduction will still need 2 be paid in full not a proportion as it's a deferral of full payment for may and june not a right off of payment.

Experts are saying this virus will come in 2 or 3 more waves so imo there is not a chance in hell that they are going to allow 50 - 60k fans into a stadium. God they are saying pubs that hold 50 to 100 people won't be opened till xmas. So I think your a tad optimistic about your club being ok mate with that wage bill.
And yes I am worried about the whole future of scottish football.

One thing, I think will come out of all this is that both teams over the past couple of season have invested well in their youth set ups. As in the next couple of seasons money will be tight and imo our young players will become very important assets for both teams.

20 Apr 2020 20:07:37
Stewartyblue I applaud you for what must clearly be the most tongue in cheek post possibly of all time in here.

"I would say that my club will have gained more experience in dealing with cost cutting measures than most clubs"

Can you give examples of this cost-cutting experience? All I've saw is losses, loans, share issues, debt, debt conversion, staying in Gleneagles on matchday's before games, trying to sign a player while in administration, paying a manager £825,000 a year while in Division Three with a title prize of £30,000.

Your club is the antithesis of cost-cutting, you have absolutely no concept of the term. That said you gave me the biggest laugh I have had in here in some time. Thank you.

20 Apr 2020 20:13:16
Paul, Your players deferred wages and all that money will need to be paid back.
The Celtic players also deferred a part of their wages but also took a further wage cut. Your players were getting praised to the hilt for deferring their wages but all they were doing was getting the club to put their money into a holiday fund.

20 Apr 2020 20:59:46
Paulellen your players took a wage cut because they were told of the the financial state the club was in, as big blue bear said in an earlier post 10 million was required to see the season through .

20 Apr 2020 22:22:53
Paulellan your players only deferred a percentage of their wages for three months, not a wage cut.

20 Apr 2020 23:17:38
Buzz, you and the rest of your support would run thru walls. Lol.hahaha, fergus saved yous nobody else, wee fergus, imagine eh.

20 Apr 2020 23:55:07
Oldkilly the 10 million was pre european group stage qualifying and last sixteen and 2.5 mill owed by hummel and further investment from DP.

20 Apr 2020 12:10:08
Here's a thing, if they are GIVEN the title is that the precedent set? How many games do we have to play before "winners" are declared? How many points clear do you have to be before you can be "champs", indeed how many point behind do you have to be to get relegated, 1? If we get next season up and running these questions will have to be answered in case the lerg comes back during the season. If we have a 14 team league next season we either only play each other twice or we have a split how will that work? 3 x 13 = 39 plus 6 games after the split makes 45 games plus internationals and cups. Less games would be better especially if the season kicks off late but would the TV companies be happy. We must null and void the season and start afresh, its the only fair option.

20 Apr 2020 18:54:52
14 team league, pay each other twice equals 26 games. Then split into 2 groups of 7 who play each other twice equals 12 games, total 38 games.
Plus points, everyone plays exactly same home/ away games
minus points, in the second half each side will have two blank weekends.

This was suggested by Jim Traynor in his BBC Scotland days. Makes sense to me; BUT move to summer football as well!

20 Apr 2020 23:19:52
Jyf, get a lead, then declare ourself league winners, don't give any team a chance to catch us, just claim the league, if they can do it, well.

20 Apr 2020 23:58:38
That was initially my preferred choice swanseablue and for the life of me I couldn't work out the obsession with a 6 to 8 split but then it dawned on me. A top 7 and bottom 7 means 1 club misses out each round of games, 3 games played and one team twiddling their thumbs. No biggie in itself but come the last day of the season, Titles, Europe, placings, play offs, relegation all up for grab and two teams will being doing nowt. can't see it catching on for that reason alone. It was always mince being the team not playing on the last day of Rughy's 5 nations and when you think how exciting that last day is now, based on that alone it doesn't work for me.

20 Apr 2020 09:49:33
Guys recommend pod casts on the club site. Last week was piece on Orjan Persson that took me back. Very informed comments from club historian and wee tom miller.

20 Apr 2020 07:42:57
A theoretical question for all the bears here.
I read in the papers this morning that pubs could be closed till xmas.
If the lockdown last for a good while longer who among you would happily pay season ticket money to keep the club going even if no games are scheduled?

I would but, then again i'm lucky enough to still be working right now.

20 Apr 2020 10:29:10
I think you have hit the nail on the head Yogi. It will all depend on the financial impact on each individual going forward. 👍.

20 Apr 2020 10:39:38
Firstly don't believe everything you read in the tabloid press. That is just sensationalising to try and sell papers. I don't think the British public or the brewing industry would tolerate that length of lockdown of the nation's pubs. My little back street local pub near where I live down here in Sussex is great and there are rarely more than a dozen people in at any one time. The government needs to treat the public as intelligent people and I'm sure we'd all use our judgement and commonsense when it comes to social distancing. End of rant, and yes I would if I lived nearer to Glasgow but where I live makes it very difficult to get to games.

20 Apr 2020 12:08:06
No one including the government know when lockdown will be lifted they don't know enough about the virus and way too slow to act all assumpptions n guesswork going on
So sit tight and take it as it comes
Stay safe guys.

20 Apr 2020 12:10:35
The could / maybe / might / possibly and so on are stuff the media use to make fake news Yogi.

I will "PROBABLY" renew my season tickets pal.

No, "I will" be renewing my Season tickets for me and my son as like you I an lucky enough still have an income.

20 Apr 2020 12:20:12
Good post Doiger, only thing is that up here one over the ten and all commonsense is lost . (unfortunately I'm one o the many tho) .

20 Apr 2020 12:29:42
Depending how long this goes on it would be tight for me. On furlaugh but the mrs work laid everybody off no pay. Me n my boy both have seasons, doubt I'd be able to afford them if I can't get back to work soon.

20 Apr 2020 03:35:54
Damn i saw a guy wearing a Rangers top with HOLT on the back it struck hard when i first started supporting Rangers had de boer ricksen moles hutton giovani averladze prso amaruso lovenkrands klos ferguson 1999 i went to my first match i think advocaat was the manager.

20 Apr 2020 07:30:18
661, where have you been the last 9 years?

20 Apr 2020 07:33:03
Guys, spot on comments, everyone on this so called task force has a vested interest in it going through, you couldn't make it up. They're also talking short term, what is the point of that, then what happens, if we're going to fix this mess up here, a lot more than league changes will have to occur, the controlling bodies for example.
