Ulsterman - Arthur D was the poster who kept putting Davis down, for whatever reason. Not sure of the guys thought process tbh.

Thought, Davis, Kamara, Jack and Arfield were really good, to name but a few. We could have scored double figures on another day. I will give Souttar the benefit of the doubt, from what I saw he needs it.

Thought we played good today and dominated them. I know Kent is a good player, but are we missing him? In his place Arfield has blossomed and is on top form in that role, and who said we couldn't play Defoe on his own!

All our midfield were superb in particular today and a special mention to big katic, who was terrific. My motm was ryan jack, as he was my pick, from a really good team performance.

Steven Davis is still a good player and I've no problem signing him up for next season. This season though, we got him in January and its taken him till April to show any kind of form. I know he was lacking match fitness but we signed Davis and Defoe for a chance at the title. We were level on points with c*ltic when we signed them.

My thought process is simple and as you don’t seem to understand it I will try and simplify it for you

Davis is not the player he used to be and couldn’t get a look in in a truly awful Southampton side

I don’t think he is the type of player we need if we want to win the league and compete with them

I would much rather give Docherty a go in the first team next season as I think he has more to offer

Of course only my opinion but I hope that clears it up for you?

AD - absolute nonsense. I do not know why you do not like Davis, but you are not basing it on fact. A lot of players do not get games in teams for various reasons - manager does not like them; face does not fit; style of play does not fit, or to many players vying for the same position. Davis has been great when he has played for Southampton.

If I mind right your original post stated that he would not have sell on value - but he is here for a specific reason - to stop celtic getting to 9 and then 10 in a row, and to be honest he will retire when he leaves Rangers - the club he loves.

Ypu next post stated that he was not good enough to play for Rangers - if he was half the player he, he would still be good enough to play for us. I wonder if you have ever seen him play? He is the captain of Northern Ireland Football Team. In his last game for Northern Ireland he gave a masterclass in football and was the toast of the country. He has now played almost two full games for Rangers and in each of them he has played tremendously well - I don't think you could have saw him play or to be truthful you do not understand what good play is. Do not know who got man of the match today but would not be surprised if he received it.

Yes I have seen him play and I’ve probably been to more games than you have both at home and abroad so don’t try and be clever it doesn’t suit you. Unfortunately you seem to be the type of person who doesn’t like anyone disagreeing with you. You don’t half talk nonsense the toast of Northern Ireland? Where do you get stuff like that. I have given my reasons why he isn’t good enough if we are to challenge Celtic and signing a guy who is in the mid thirties and past his best isn’t the answer. I am entitled to my opinion just as you are and entitled to make it without people like you trying to be clever.

Bit out of order there Cato. Davis has played well last 2 games but it has been against 2 dreadful sides in Motherwell and Hearts. Let’s see how he performs in the next 3 games against Aberdeen, Hibs and Celtic. I would like to see him dominate the Celtic midfield but I’m not convinced he can do that anymore. As for Northern Ireland you have to remember they played Belarus and only won 2-1. Belarus are hardly world beaters. Let’s see how he does against Netherlands and Germany before making him king of Northern Ireland. Everyone has an opinion and there is no need to be nasty to each other if we don’t agree with certain views. Let’s hope we get it right next season and can stop them winning the league again.

NNC - you are quite right Davis is playing very well for Rangers and has got his fitness back anyone who understands football can see that. Not his fault who he plays against. He has been a stalwart for NI.

Never ever understood anyone who says you are too old to play same as you are never too young - all depends on how good you are.

Give up Arther D your arguments don't add up.

I think davis has been a stand out in the last two games, I agree that there are bigger tests to come for him but fir park and tynecastle are hard places to go and to be fair davis bossed both games👍.

Souttar can stay where he is for me. Not really been impressed by him in any game. We are strolling this match at the moment against a poor Hearts team tbh. If we can continue defending the way we did in the first half this could be a skelping. Davis, Jack, Arfield and Kamara been class today.

Full team played well and absolutely dominated them today. The midfield were immense and controlled the game from start 2 finish.

I don't get some peoples hang up about Shankland. He's young, a bluenose and scoring goals for fun. We could get him for peanuts. If its a flop then it would be a risk worth taking.

ive not seen shankland, his names always thrown about. people are quick to shoot it down saying he's not good enough. look at jamie vardys story, i agree if its peanuts its worth a punt. could be 3rd choice, or what if he actually slots in perfect. my biggest negative from it is we have ryan hardie who has shown he can compete and score in the league. might not be the best striker in our club but he's training with livingston the now not us.

Id rather we let someone like our own zak rudden be given a chance seeing as he's scoring a few goals as well. Will do well for youth morale when they see us give our own a chance instead of signing someone else to be a backup.

The problem this season for us to give youth a chance has been that we haven't been putting good winning runs together, every second game has been an important must win game. Having said that, the so called starting 11 hasn't always produced so maybe giving youth players a game will give these players a we scare. So often as well we have Been 2 or 3 up but then we concede a goal and let teams back into games instead of being able to bring young players on we are having to bring players on to see out games, maybe not so much in the last few games but throughout the season a number of games have been like that.

Unless Lawrence Shankland has something special then he’s not for Rangers, I understand the transfer money isn’t there to buy a recognised striker? But surely with the European scouting system in place we can pick up a talented player at a reasonable price? Re Morelos, talent great albeit temperament iffy 😝 ( being kind ) Rangers must set their sights high if they are to wrestle the title away from Celtic, who will be buying decent players in June.
