@1: it should be against part-timers. If it's not, something is terribly wrong - if they seem to be doing the bare minimum, it's obvious why they're there: money.

After liquidation, I'm shocked we are paying Premier League wages to get out of Div 3. Ally was a legend as a player but will go down in history as the worst manager we ever had. I still don't trust Green. Close call between Whyte and him in the lies stakes. Hope we don't end up another Portsmouth.
Believable18
Unbelievable23
I know Ian black should never be on 6k a week, animal.
Agree11
Disagree11
If Broadfoot was on £9k a week, Black deserves £6k a week. Listen the eight players wages that we have signed will be on less than Davis's wage and Broadfoots wage alone, never mind the other 20 odd that left.
Agree11
Disagree5
1.)
Not a great fan of black, not creative enough, but
all of the crazy tackles I've seen this season ( none punished with even a yellow!!) have been against him, most in the first 5 mins.
Give him a break - if you follow ANY team other than hearts you' ve probably only seen him 2 or 3 times & are just following the rest of the sheep that were at Easter road
bil72

The 8 players will be on less than £30k between them? Probably not.
Agree3

You can't really compare the new signings wages with Davis mcgregors etc. there was more income available to rangers when they were in the spl although through mismanagement you wouldn't think so. remember season tickets were a lot more expensive in the spl than they are. Now. Fans need to remember that there had to be some sort of carrot dangled to the new players to go to 3div football and that was a good wage. There is now a transfer ban so I'm assuming next years ticket sales will be taken into consideration for this summers spending. I'd take greens comments about having a healthier ballence sheet than Celtic with a pinch of salt as he'll be lucky to break eave till next summer when st at renewed.

Is it just me or did Ally say 4-5 players? We have let go of Boca who is one of our best players even though he is not on form, DT is not as good as he so we have reduced our quality yet again. I am sick of Ally talking BS and producing nothing.

Ally said he was looking to bring in 4-5 players before the deadline closed. It didn't happen, why? could be a mulititude of reasons, but the players we have brought in over the summer should be well capable of helping us progress up the lower leagues. Remember we're not awash with money, so just be happy with what we've got and support the team/manager.

The transfer that caught my eye was 17 year old Matthew Kennedy going from Kilmarnock to Everton for a "nominal fee". The lad only made a few starts for Killie and must be a good prospct as Chelsea and Sunderland were also interested.
Very sad we are selling our young players at such a young age eg Wilson to Liverpool and bringing in very average foreign journeymen.

bbc radio scotland top discussion rangers again. just shows you bears the scottish game needs us more than we need them. our signing of temps seems to have shocked them all as most spl clubs did not have finance to buy anyone and hearts needed to sell to pay tax bill. in the 3rd division no european football and still the BIGGEST club in scotland WATP.
Believable24

Don't see what the panic's about. Got more than a good enough players to get through the transfer ban. Got to get the younger players established in the team. Going out and buying more players would have meant the mcleods and mckays wouldn't ET near the squad never mind the starting 11.
Believable15
Unbelievable1
Perfectly correct, the team we now have will be hungry to succeed and once they settled in have the potential to be a good unit. Some of the established players, possibly not intentionally, had no desire to play in div.3 and that may have rubbed off. So from now we can move forward on a united front and show that we are not only the biggest but the best.

You're the mug. Green has done a brills job. The euro players mentioned were at a time when we were still an SPL side. We're now in the 4th tier and still attracting some tasty prospects. Go and be bitter somewhere else while we enjoy the journey back to the top.

Don't be so stupid, at the time of the euros we were in SPL. Clearly when we got into div three we need to look at a different calibre of player. We are more than strong enough to win div three by twenty points.
You will be glad to hear that when back in SPL we will sign better players. If you are entered in a moped race you don't buy a Harley.
Green has done ok, would have liked to see another two in but at least he got Templeton who was main target.
By the looks of today's result and CROWD at Parkhead, the fact that a competition without competition is not attractive appears to be coming true.

Sound, bring it on then. Remember, all the expectation and all the pressure will be on the SPL champs, No-one would expect the 4th tier team to pump them, would they? Lennon will have your boys fired up and running at us from the whistle, he'd never live down the shame of going out to a 4th tier Gers. Meanwhile, Allys legends, used to teams having a right go at them (once we're settled) will calmly, professionally go about their business.

Did Rangers sign Templeton by the way? If we already have young, wide players like Mackie and McLeod who are going to turn up in every third game, what do we need another one for? From what I've seen, we need a half decent forward to play off Little and some versatile defenders. Going to be quite short at the back now. No altogether sure about the players we have signed when we really had to get it right. My pop looks in better shape than Kevin Kyle. What's Kyle Hutton done to pi$$ Ally off? Walter II it seems I'm afraid. Might be better to utilise Lee Mcl at ch if we're short there now, and give Hutton a game in the middle. But then, I'm no sure where the goals are going to come from?

Apparently the SFA's computer went down at 23:55 according to BBC website.Rangers submitted paperwork but to be confirmed whether it went through on time.
Seen your reply from earlier stating we should be strong enough to win div3.
I agree. We seem to have a good mix of experience and youth, this will give the younger players a chance to develop and hopefully be ready in 12 months to two years time.Eight players in since July and considering all our problems is not bad going.Think some people on here need to remember where we are and what or club has been through.

The funniest thing of all though is , when the season books still weren't shifting after Green slashed the price of them it took for Green to make some ridiculous comments which would only serve as a rally cry to a certain people he told you all "as long as the queue is at that side of the line Alistair will get all the players he wants". You queued, and you queued and queued a bit more and it was all in vain!
Ticketus have got their first installment and you lot have probably got the guarantee of 3rd division football next season . . . as long as Ally gets his 25 year contract!

Within the last 2 days, McCoist has said we needed to bring in 4 or 5 players.
On deadline day, we lose 3 (Boca, Kirk & Edu) and only sign 2 (Davie Coop Temp & Stella)
Green said that he'd invest season ticket money and back McCoist.

Well I didn't really think DCT would come and thought CG wouldn't spend a penny on transfer fees - and I would be interested in the details of the Templeton signing, have heard that all the remaining money owed to Wallace was used as a sweetener for instance.
Personally I question everything Green says, just take the talk of the bunch of Newcastle boys coming up to Ibrox as an example. What happened there Chaz? Crosswires with Mike Ashley?
Anyway I'm actually glad that youngsters at Auchenhowie might get more of a chance now.

We've got to be practical, build for the future and develop a sustainable financial model. We'd all love to see half a dozen players but the reality is that we're now in the 3rd division and should be able to win it at a canter with the squad we already have. The club went bust before for a number of reasons one of which was living beyond our means, paying players unsustainable salaries without the equivalent revenue coming in to support the expenditure. We have enough in the tank to do the job, granted we would all like to see some new faces but let's look to the kids and youth development, they're the future.

(Celtic fan) Always believed that Greene is a spin doctor who would say and do anything to win favor with the fans. (Buying a player called David Cooper Templeton would be an unbelievable bit of spin.) The promises haven't come to fruition, but how good a squad do you need in D3 & D2?
But hey ho, the windows shut now and you have to get on with what you've got. I wish Templeton all the best, he has great ability. Also his name brings back memories of a true Scottish great. (Watched him at Clydebank)

He's brought in 3 of the best talents from the SPL though! We are in Div 3 so to have those guys on board is surely a major coup despite the players we have lost! It's a rebuilding exercise so if the players and youngsters that are currently there aren't able to handle 3rd Div and hopefully 2nd div then surely they shouldn't be anywhere near a Rangers jersey! I have faith in the players, faith in Ally and faith in Charles Green! He has delivered more in months than the google eyed shyster did in a year! RTID

Going from playing Liverpool at Anfield in the Europa league to playing with the Ibrox franchise in Division 3 hardly shows that vital characteristic of ambition.

Aye right, just what Celtic need, someone to play on the wing, we only have Forrest,Commons,McCourt,McGeough, Matthews, Izzy, Paul George,Twardzyk,Samaras etc, etc, If Celtic wanted him, they would have got him, he would have got more money, SPL and Champions league, in fact he would have got everything bar a game, good luck to the boy, but if he was any good he would have had a better offer from elsewhere

Guys I'm at a complete loss here,
What's all this carp about not signing anybody until 2014?? Utter rubbish!
1. We can sign free transfers and loans from September 1st 2013.
2. The transfer will closes on the 3rd of September 2013, if we can sign players until the 1st then potentially we can sign players for the last 2 days?
We have a cracking team there now for the teams we're playing and I can't wait to hammer Celtic in a cup! {Ed039's Note - I don't know about the 2 days at the end of September next year, I have emailed Rangers media several times about this for some clarification but as yet had no reply, although yes free agents and players through the SFL emergency loan system will be able to be signed. We can also sign players on loan under 18 years old. Maybe Ally should phone his old pal AVB and ask if he has any quality youngsters in need of game time lol)

Cheers ed, it'd be good to get a reply back at some point, my guessing they wont actually know yet.

Winger David Templeton has signed for Rangers after Hearts accepted a bid from the Ibrox club.
Hearts confirmed Templeton had made the move but Ryan McGowan rejected a switch to the Third Division and opted to remain at Tynecastle.
Templeton has been with Hearts since 2007, making 81 appearances and scoring 11 goals.
Rangers earlier loaned captain Carlos Bocanegra to Racing Santander for a season while Maurice Edu completed his move to Stoke.
Gers manager Ally McCoist had been desperate to strengthen his squad as a 12-month transfer embargo comes into effect for Rangers on 1st September(a website) FRAGERS

Well Bears assuming the SFA can get their computers working and apply common sense and permit the registration of Templeton to go through, I think the following First XI is a very strong team....certainly for where we are right now and way stronger in quality and experience than I ever imagined possible given we lost 20 first team players.
However I have a huge concern at the ack of experienced back-up / reserves. Especially midfield where we have nobody. McKay, Mitchell and McLeod are great young lads but still have much to learn.
Epanyway Bears, here's the team I would confirm as my first choice selection to get us promoted.....hope it prompts some healthy banter and debate...
1. Neil Aexander
2. Amnesties Argyriou
4. Ross Perry
5. Emilson Cribari
3. Lee Wallace
7. Dean Shiels
8. Ian Black
6. Kyle Hutton
11. David Templeton
9. Lee McCulloch (c)
10. Andy Little
Subs:
GK: Gallagher
D: Hegarty
D: Faure
M: McKay
M: McLeod
F: Kyle
F: Sandaza
Yes....I am playing Hutton as first choice. Don't agree with the treatment of Hutton by McCoist. Likewise in D3 we need a big front man to rough up defences. Based on what I have seen McCulloch and Little are looking like a great partnership. They graft....unlike Sandaza!
Encouraging but still desperately short of experienced back up should any of this squad suffer serious injury / suspensions.
Thoughts Bears?

Alistair Murdoch "Ally" McCoist, the club's record goalscorer, netting 355 goals is a living legend!
So whoever you are (disgusted with Ally saying ....blah ..) To confirm David Templeton has singed.
Do you remember when Ally signed for Rangers in 1983? I do- he had a horrible start to his time at the club-but he battled through to become a fans favourite.
When Graeme Souness became manager in 1986 he signed several strikers but did these players outscore Ally? Well ,no, they didn't as Ally sat on the bench observing & learning to become the best goalscorer Rangers have ever had.
Do not underestimate Alistair Murdoch "Ally" McCoist, his determination to be successful will come through.
So to the "Ally must go" people- take a look at the history- Alistair is going nowhere but forward with Rangers!

If Rangers cannot get promoted through to the SPL with the team they have at present even excluding David Templeton, there is something far wrong with the team and its management! There is enough experience in this team to encourange and help the youth players in the squad and that should be more than enough to win back to back promotions! Talk about signing Ferguson/Hutton etc is just crazy do people forget how Rangers got into this mess in the first place? Live within thier means and bring through the younger players, we are a feeder club to down south now, make some money from the youth to bring in others is the way the club should be ran! This smacks of last year, what happened to the four or five required. I think Ally may walk as it appears he hasn't been backed. If it is Green's plan to force him out he is playing a dangerous game because with our defence minus the best player we are in trouble. It is now 17 months before we can strengthen.

Hi
Fellow sceptic bears' and timaloys; hope you are enjoying the transfer deadline?
It is irrelevant whither Rangers sign or do not sign; what is more important is that Glasgow Rangers are on the rise.
All that the SFA & SPL have achieved is enhanced the most successful football clubs story to the word; highlighting not only our glorious history but also ensuring our future by gaining new support world wide!!
The SPL need to take a long hard look at them selves; short payments to the member clubs, windfall from CL only to go to SPL members, suggest that the commercial deals done with broadcasters not enough.
EBT is not about the striping of titles but only another smoke screen for SPL to use integrity as a means to try and prop up this organisation by imposing financial sanctions, and if Glasgow Rangers don't play ball the leverage is titles!!!
