Anyone unhappy with our latest victory need only look back to February 2020 when we lost 2-1 to the same opposition the effort was there today we won ugly and we kept a clean sheet thanks to a cracking McGregor save we can't keep going games without killing off teams though hope we go toe to toe With Benfica and and grind out a result.

As much as our defence has been amazing a think we need to get our strikers firing soon as we will need more goals in games coming up. Am not being critical am loving being rangers fan right now. Kent a wee bit off it too. Happy we are winning not playing at our best.

Boy, we laboured today on a lousy pitch. It could and should have been more if we had been more succinct. But typical defence. Thought Killie defence, partic at home was disgrace.

As the old saying goes, "more than one way to skin a cat"! First and foremost a very good 3 points for us today 👍We most definitely deserved to win the game today and should have won it more comfortably, than the 1-0 score line suggests. Our second half performance wasn't as good as our first half performance, but the 3 points over the performance was paramount and we got them! I thought joe aribo was absolutely superb in the first half and is one very skilful footballer 👌 Both goldson and helander were superb and solid and so was tavernier and barisic. Our forward 3 of kent, morelos and itten just didn't click today and the good thing for us is our forward line has still to click into top gear, as our defence is solid and isn't leaking goals 👍Our midfield is also functioning superbly 👌 We're most certainly in a very good place, but nothing is won yet, so now onto benfica on thursday,
followed by hamilton accies at the 'brox,
next sunday 👍.

Totally agree SGL, we must start taking more of the chances we make, or we could get punished late on in a game. I was nervous in the final 10 minutes when I shouldn't have been. Great 3 points though in our Bogey ground.

Thought that both Kent and Barasic were a wee bit off today.

McGregor's save was expected - he appeared to create a gap in the wall so he could see the ball early.

Overall solid performance without being superb but last year we might have lost a goal.

Agree with most of your post SGL. Think the midfield could have done a lot better in 2nd half, suppose that's why Davis came on. Thought it was a game of 2 halves as they say. Superb in the 1st but for some reason we came out the 2nd half with a mental block and looked as though we wanted to play the game out.

Defence is looking good but the front 3 or 4 depending how we shape up could do with clicking better, at times I felt we should have got a shot away but we took the extra touch or passed it.

Anyway another win that last year we would have dropped points, a step closer to 55.
Great 3 points but was nervous most of the 2nd half.

Interesting to hear SG state in his post match interview that he thought Itten was outstanding, I wasn't that convinced by him today, obviously he needs to come onto his game and it's early days but, thoughts?

I thought big Itten did very well holding the ball up and bringing other players in. He looks comfortable on the ball and only had the one real chance from a Davis pass. He only had time to get a touch on target and the goalie made a good save. Alf also did well and kept the ball better than he has been lately. Wee Kent has gone off the boil a bit and spurned a great chance to score in the second half. Having said that the wee man has done well so far. All in all de lighted with the result and the way we dug in with the defence brilliant once again. Jacko mom. Everything he did was class today. Broke up the play and linked up well. 3 points, no injuries, we move on.

I was all for selling him up to the start this season, but have completely changed my mind. Hopefully the mhanks meltdown will continue and we can stop their nine and a half in a row. Maybe unpopular opinion but kent looks if he needs a rest he gave the ball away a lot today maybe the pitch to blame I don’t know maybe being over critical.
A front 3 of Kent fredo and itten didn’t work at all don’t understand why he would start with that.

Positives now great 3 points in a place we have one win in 8 and another clean sheet.

The most important thing today was 3 points and we got that happy as a dug with 2 d@cks.

Absolutely Scotty. I used to always like going to Kilmarnock back in my younger days but that pitch is awful to watch football on.

Still, 3 points and more pressure applied to Celtic. Hopefully Aberdeen poise some more problems for them today.

I thought Gerrard's change in style / tactics was spot on. He knew he couldn't play pretty football on that pitch, itten and fredo up top to aim crosses at and hold it up was ideal on that pitch. Bringing balogun on to shut up shop, match brophy's pace and deal with broadfoot being left up there is exactly what we needed at that time of the game. Last year Gerrard wouldn't have changed shape or made the late tactical change. I'm pleased for him thought he was tactically spot on and showed that he is willing to adapt to suit each game. Strong mentality from the players to grind out the win👍.

Spot on Coldo. SG got today’s tactics bang on and the teams determination to keep clean sheets is another massive stride forward from last year. Players coming in and the team not looking weakened is the most pleasing aspect for me as Kamara and Davis have been pivotal in the last month of impressive performance and results.

i always fear the worst on that surface, but SG definitely had the tactics right today, we never looked under any pressure until the last 10 or 15 minutes, and in previous seasons we would have probably have dropped points. Everyone is getting stuck in, and as Ryan Jack said after the game " its only three points, we go again next week" I hope they all have that attitude for the rest of the season! Again as on thursday night, our bench is looking a lot better than last year.

Our defence is our saviour. Bring Davis on and Balegeoun was poor subs. Morelos is bringing nothing to the team. Shadow of the player of last season. why not play the likes or Greg Stewart or Jones in games like these? They know the piches.

Itten can't play in that positiin. That's the position we need cover for.

We could have easily dropped 2 points but didn't.

Sorry sounds as if i'm slating the team but today we didn't change our front line quick enough.

This is actually the game I've been most nervous about in recent weeks. The europa league games and obviously the Celtic game take care of themselves, because when we are really at it we've enough to beat anyone. Livi and Ross county didn't have many weapons that could trouble us but Killie have this way of playing against us that hurts us and if we are not right at it they are the one team that I see could hurt us if we underestimate them.

It’ll be the same formation as always, Itten, Morelos and Kent will interchange as a front 3 just like the front 3 have done all season. We no longer play with just one out and out striker who is always central and always in the box, the front 3 switch about continuously throughout the game, hence why Morelos hasn’t been scoring as much (and before anyone says it, yes he also hasn’t been playing as well, but he has been in a slightly different role as well. )

Daz, I've always maintained that artificial pitches have no place in the top levels of professional football. Why can't the SPFL/ SFA/ Scottish Government give grants to teams who are financially struggling to put back turf pitches and help with maintenance costs? Surely the corrupt football authorities in Scotland have some money to spare?

I've said on here before that wilson and gerrard rate kevin thomson our reserve coach very highly and gave thomson the step up to work more closely with gerrard. I honestly see thomson being in with a shout in future years if he proves himself, of being the rangers manager/ head coach. that's only my opinion!
