I see Lewis Macleod has rejected a new contract at Brentford. What would the posters think of him coming back too Ibrox?
Maybe like me 50,000 fans singing “ follow we will “ gives him goose bumps and he misses it.

02 Nov 2018 07:46:16
why would he come back. done nothing in the time at brentford. we have moved on since he left and so should he.

01 Nov 2018 23:33:27
Is McCauley even fit enough to be in the panel yet? I’ve seen him for NI and he was a diamond, but he hasn’t played in a while.

02 Nov 2018 07:32:12
Must admit I forgot all about him Ulsterman. Good player if we can get him fit.

01 Nov 2018 19:47:07
Big worral has been a bit shakey at times, slow on possession last night he was even allowing the ball to bounce in front of him! jeez when I was eight I got told meet ball before it bounces. get katic back in, sure he wasn't great at Hamilton but confidence was down and maybe tried too hard on tricky surface etc. how many times has Wirral got on the end of a corner or scored. None. this can't be said about katic whom is dangerous in opposition box even with the poor quality crosses we put in. and on that note, please tavernier no more corners or free kicks give someone else a go Andy holiday can even put in a better corner.

01 Nov 2018 22:00:26
Agreed get Katic back in pronto.

02 Nov 2018 08:06:45
i think either katic has had a fall out with gerrard or it stated in worralls loan that he had to play so many matches because i just can't understand why you would brake up such a strong partenership like goldson and katic had they looked solid at begining of the season, granted against hamilton when katic came on he looked out of sorts but it was on a crap surface and the boy must be low on confidence getting dropped in the first place get him back against st mirren.

01 Nov 2018 18:36:51
Well that's the honeymoon period well and truly over. Think we all need to be realistic about winning anything this year. Hamilton result was flattering, the worst Aberdeen team in years beat us, Celtic were terrible at the start of the season, and yet still beat us, extended their lead over us after last night and are now hitting form while we are struggling, no leadership on the pitch, no creativity, defense appears to be guaranteed to lose at least one every game, no continuity over team selection. Hard season ahead. Not being pessimistic or negative, like to think I'm being realistic.

01 Nov 2018 19:22:56
But we have done well in Europe, so it's not all bad.

01 Nov 2018 20:04:44
Do we start Katic v St Mirren?

01 Nov 2018 23:07:42
Bit harsh mate! Only ten games in. Night and day from last year.

01 Nov 2018 23:14:17
Aye we should.

01 Nov 2018 23:18:37
Too right we do, he will give us a threat from a set piece if nothing else. He was shakey against accies I’ll admit but was superb at the start of the season and will benefit with a run in the team, I know he got injured but he was rotated out of form IMO and Worrall has just not been good enough to be guaranteed a start like he has been. We need to ring the changes for Saturday, I’d go:

McGregor
Tav/ Goldson/ Katic/ Halliday
Jack/ Rossiter
Kent/ Arfield/ Grezda
Morelos.

02 Nov 2018 13:30:13
No, Struth, you're definitely being pessimistic and negative.

01 Nov 2018 17:42:12
points of observation

Tavernier is NOT a leader and should not be captain

Gerard says we rely too much on Morelos, so when is he going to give Lafferty a decent run?

He has also, demoralised Sadiq, Katic, Gresda, Middleton. McCrorie Wallace, so what is his BIG PICTURE plan then?

And finally, is there any point in us bringing on our young stars when they have almost no chance o progressing? when he keeps selecting players out of position instead of giving young DECENT guys a chance.

01 Nov 2018 18:20:58
What a load of nonsense,

01 Nov 2018 18:30:46
In fairness Sadiq and Middleton aren't good enough to play regularly in the first team. The treatment of katic, mccrorie and grezda seem bizarre. They should surely be getting more game time. Loan players are being prioritised, which should never happen. And the Wallace thing is an embarrassment to the club. We could use a player of that quality and leadership now.

01 Nov 2018 18:34:20
oh really? facts and opinions don't count unless they are yours I suppose.

01 Nov 2018 18:45:39
Richie, can't agree
Wallace long term injury Sadiq dreadful.
Middleton and mccrorie still young and learning
Grezda not fit yet, had operation in may, Katic young lad, good player, but like a lot of young players gone off the boil.

01 Nov 2018 19:07:46
Agree with every point except bottom one jboy mate. Katic was playing great then got dropped strangely for no apparent reason, and it looks like this has knocked his confidence more than anything else. I found it strangets at the time n it looks like it's had a bad eFfestiniog on the lad.

01 Nov 2018 19:51:44
Ted Rangers. What planet are you on. You don't think middleton isn't good enough to play. How the f**k do you work that out. He has been excellent on the few occasions he has been given a start.

01 Nov 2018 20:19:11
Fb, Katic was injured, manager said he was carrying groin strain. He was sent home from Croatia under 21 due to said injury.
I for one think he should be in team b4 Worrall.

01 Nov 2018 20:33:14
Hoof, he has potential. but he always does the same thing, go outside on his left foot. It's predictable and the Killie right back had no problems with him. Once he learns to go inside he will hopefully be a good player. His movement off the ball last night was brutal too. Makes it impossible to give him the ball to have any effect on the game. Halliday was trying repeatedly to get the ball to him, but the positions he got himself into weren't good enough.

01 Nov 2018 20:54:48
What facts have you produced? just your opinion that I don’t agree with. Sick and tired about hearing about our so called youngsters being overlooked obviously they ain’t good enough, people on here used to go on about Charlie telfer not getting a game turned out he wasn’t good enough same applies to Hardie never will be a rangers player imo. Kent and Ejaria are miles better than any young players we have. Midddleton was released by Norwich so that tells its own story he might turn out to be a decent player but he isn’t ready for regular football now, I actually think Gerrard has done well with him.

01 Nov 2018 22:06:09
Middleton isn’t good enough yet. He was hiding last night.

Good prospect but he needs to do more when given the opportunity.

02 Nov 2018 06:47:54
Jboy, he's still made at least the benchouse every game which leads me to think he wasn't injured. Whatever has happened it's definately knocked the lads confidence.

02 Nov 2018 13:54:55
Get. That, but plenty players r on bench when not fully fit, hopefully in against st Mirren.

02 Nov 2018 16:51:18
Good mate, only an opinion.

01 Nov 2018 09:58:57
I was looking back on our games while there is no doubting our defence is better we have still conceded 19 goals in 24 games so far this season but scored 44 goals in 24 games.

This points out to me we can score goals but we also still conceding to much for some reason we are lacking it just now is gerrards critisism of the players had a adverse effect on the team and made them not play well i don't no only players can answer that.

Maybe it is time for gerrard to freshen things up and change formation for leauge games and players cause its not working just now the midfield has been really poor recenctly no creative spark in there and no goalscorers.

01 Nov 2018 11:11:10
We keep losing stupid goals like yesterday. Worrall ran back ten yards to play their striker online, then was weak in the challenge. Flanagan decides to help their player inside onto his strong foot, worrall over runs and does nothing to stop the shot. The structure is good, but it's individual mistakes that are causing problems. Obviously looks worse when we can't score goals.

01 Nov 2018 09:14:50
Whilst I absolutely condemn and abhor missile throwing I think the Lurgan lout did himself no favours going down holding his coupon when the coin quite clearly struck him in his amply padded chest. He really doesn't help himself inflaming a powder keg atmosphere with his childish antics. Only him and Mourinho think they are above the law and persist with this silly carry on. Cue the popcorn teeth love fest!

01 Nov 2018 10:08:28
Well said seeker, but don’t expect the Scottish press to condemn him. It will be the usual poor Neil always the victim.

01 Nov 2018 12:39:45
Guy who threw the coin should be jailed whether it hit his face or not. Why is Lennon celebrating a disallowed goal and goading supporters though? He's supposed to be a professional, it was stupidity of the highest order acting like that in that atmosphere and he should also be up in front of sfa for his antics.

01 Nov 2018 14:20:29
Agree that the moron who threw the coin should be punished but Lennon goading the crowd didn't help. Lennon should be up in front of SFA after all if a player goads the opposition fans after scoring a goal he's booked or even sent off.

01 Nov 2018 23:25:34
A lot of managers turn to the crowd when decisions are given for thier team. Watch the EPL highlights and you'll see it all the time. And Spain, France etc. Only Neil Lennon, in Scotland, isn't allowed, and I can't possibly imagine why. No one had a problem with it when he was at Bolton.

02 Nov 2018 00:22:00
He didn't just turn to crowd tho did he? He was full on celebrating a disallowed goal, gesturing to the hearts fans to shhe. Can you imagine a Walter Smith or tommy burns acting like that?

02 Nov 2018 09:01:45
he is a classless little ferret

needs to grow up and realise he is in a position of responsibility.

02 Nov 2018 08:45:15
I don’t like Lennon never have never will however he was getting abuse the whole game from the Hearts suppprt and was no doubt getting pelters from them when they scored he had a go back at them. Some fans are able to give it out but get so offended when somebody gives it back. You can’t have it both ways.

02 Nov 2018 12:12:04
ArthurD managers get abuse from fans at 90% of games, they need to be able to ignore and be the bigger person

i ain't condoning the coin thrown at him but if he doesn't act like a dick then it doesn't happen.

02 Nov 2018 12:20:18
That's right jbf500, you are well paid to do a job and can't react the way he constantly does. Smith or Burns would never have done what that ferret does in every match. As you say, all he needs to do is behave and act professional, despite the morons, and incidents like this will never happen.

01 Nov 2018 07:44:21
Another disappointing result last night I just can't get my head around how poor we have been in front of goal, after the early goal I thought what a start we are going to go on and win comfortably thinking the players where going to atone for the sheep game but it's another side wards step instead of moving forward I know Gerrard needs time and I'll support him every step of the way but I think some of the players need dropped as some aren't performing like we need them too. For me tav isn't captain material I don't think he has that drive to push his team mates on to up their game and to battle their way to win.

01 Nov 2018 10:37:23
I agree but the Tav bashing is getting a bit much there are plenty of players not performing, how many assists or goals have Kent, Candeias, Ejaria, Arfield, Coulibaly, Jack got between them. How often have Tav AND Flanagan been done down the side Flanagan is just as bad if not worse as he offers nothing going forward and always gets caught out for pace, Worral certainly doesn't convince me at all, if Forrest were offered 9 mill for him they should have taken it. The fact is we are not good enough and we all have to accept that 3rd or 4th realisticly is where we are going to finish, unless some January signings happen to come in and transform us but I don't see it.

01 Nov 2018 11:49:13
@Jordy, agree with a lot of that but let's not forget that Flanagan is a RIGHT back and is being played out of position constantly.

01 Nov 2018 17:03:08
Slim Jim I take the point that he is on the left and is right footed fair enough but playing on the right won't give him more pace. I suppose I am just saying that there are plenty of underperformers and Tav has at least made some goals and scored goals, albeit penalties. Some players havnt really contributed in creating or scoring, it is what it is I guess, we need more quality.

02 Nov 2018 08:14:05
Again, in defence of Tav, his defending was excellent last night.

Often goes unmentioned, but his defending in general has improved. With his understanding with candieas, the right side is far more effective than the left, moving forward and back.

Whilst very few got pass marks, Tav and halliday were amongst them.

These 2 players are often the whipping boys, whereas a coulibally or arfield, who have gone off form, get it easy.

02 Nov 2018 12:28:28
I don't mind tav as a player his defensive side of his game has improved but still needs a bit of work I just don't think he is captain material.

01 Nov 2018 06:55:38
Morning bears, desperately trying to think of the positives from last night which was the scariest thing I'll remember from Halloween this year, thought Halliday played well, atleast plays for the badge and puts effort in whatever role he's asked to play, shown a really professional attitude and desire to be a rangers player, I feel he should begin starting most games, our midfield has been poor and need to realise they're players like Halliday dying to take their spot, also thought Morelos did well last night and needs better service is obvious, also Hallidays deliveries were decent thank god.

Review Of The Day 1st November 2018

01 Nov 2018 07:29:08
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 1st November 2018

01 Nov 2018 02:58:38
Another woeful performance, and as a fan of Stevie G I see worrying signs.
Is he preoccupied with and prioritising the Europa League?
Does he recognise that the league is and always will be our priority?
Is he in danger of becoming the SPL Tinkerman?
Why can't he energise and motivate a pretty decent squad?
Why does he tolerate the overpassing, lack of pace and lack of aggressive press in our team?
Does he actually know what his best eleven is?
Most importantly, can he identify AND FIX, the problems?
It really has to get better and quickly, because at present we have slipped into reverse gear. Another barren season is simply not acceptable.

01 Nov 2018 07:11:48
9shots on target 14 courners I thought his subs were spot on and we’re proactive, at some point the players have to take responsibility, and as for a decent squad let’s be brutally honest not 1 of our 11 would get into Celtics team. Seriously big money needs spent to challenge for the title and after reading about more huge loses over the last 6months I wouldn’t count on that happening. Walter Smith would even struggle to challenge Celtic with the gulf in class there is and believe me that hurts to say that.

01 Nov 2018 09:27:08
Scottsdad. When the going get tough the tough gets going. U advocating we get rid of him
Support SG and the team.

01 Nov 2018 10:41:59
36th
Are you trying to tell me MCGREGOR, GOLDSON, and MORELOS wouldn’t get in their starting 11.

01 Nov 2018 11:04:37
Mcgregor no better are worse than Gordon, Eduardo is an 8million pound player and for all Leigh Griffiths faults he’s a better goalscorer than Morelos, Goldson would probably be in with a shout to be fair, even by your argument 3 out of 11 is pretty conclusive about gulf in class.

01 Nov 2018 11:25:17
Goldstone s distribution is as bad as Tavs crossing.

01 Nov 2018 12:35:22
Jboy 21,I began by stating that I am a fan of Stevie G, and I have been attending games for over 50 years. Being a supporter doesn't mean you can't see flaws in the team or the manager.
I was appalled on Sunday to see Sadiq in the team for one of the biggest games of the season. Stevie G said himself the lad was a long way short of what is required.
Tav taking every dead ball kick, and wasting them, hasn't been working. SG changed that last night, to Halliday, but in latter part of the match it was back to Tav, and he wasted them!
SG also waited way too long on Sunday to make changes, and I was appalled to see one of his assistants running out to the technical area, notebook in hand, to show him what the changes should be!
No one is immune from criticism because we all want success, and SG gets a lot of slack because he is a young manager learning his trade and inherited a shambles.
But watching Worrall, for example, are you convinced he is better than Katic was early in the season? How defensively poor have we been on our left hand side in recent games with Worrall and Flanagan?
We bought Gredza, by general concensus a quality player, and he disappears. Why?
Opinion is what the game is all about, that and wanting your team to succeed. Stevie G has no problem admitting he makes mistakes, eg the last minute Wallace substitution vs Motherwell, so what is your problem?
We all want success, we pay to watch our team, and we have every right to say how we think that is best achieved.

01 Nov 2018 13:45:53
Spot on dad.

02 Nov 2018 06:52:37
We might all disagree on here but everyone's entitled to an opinion. I don't think I'd come on the site if it wasn't for the different opinions, makes it interesting.

01 Nov 2018 00:08:21
If teams are going to sit in against us we need to move the ball quicker. Rangers just ain't doing that with no quality in final third. Without Fredo we look toothless.

01 Nov 2018 22:40:26
How bad is the candyman, what does he have to do to get dropped. He is a great player up until the final third. All teams know stop Kent and make them use Candelias as he isn't going to hurt anymore, fill off effort with little end product, for the amount of time he spend in those areas he should have a huge amount of assists.

02 Nov 2018 06:53:38
Think he's been better than Kent last 2 games, Kent has been red rotten.

31 Oct 2018 23:33:55
Not slaying the team here but I have to say October has been a bad month of results if I'm going to be honest!

We should've had a win against an under fire Spartak Moscow team at IBROX - Can only manage a draw

Knocked out Semi by a poor Aberdeen side The fact we hammered them in possession all day ling we lacked anything in the final third!

A draw against Kilmarnock at home - It's just not good enough

We need a reality check and the quicker we realise this the better

My assessment on this squad is we are lacking a real leader on the park a creative spark
We need z creative midfielder and another striker as we desperately rely on Morelos far too much.

01 Nov 2018 10:24:56
I totally agree, Kaz. We need someone like Steve Davis in that midfield picking the right passes and ensuring we are pushing forward. Too often we take the ball in midfield and pass straight back to Goldson and Worrall who just pass it amongst themselves before punting it into no mans land up the park!

I don't normally get negative with the team because I truly believe we will be a success under Gerrard, but he needs to be able to change the team and get better from them.
