Just going by his performance last night in Glasgow Cup, would anyone agree that Middleton could be used as a striker? Not the tallest but that hasn't hindered Defoe. He's gets some ping on a shot like.

What I watched of the game Middleton wasn’t good at all not only him but most players were. Hoping it was just a bad night. But because he scored 2 goals and one being a screamer everyone thinks he had a great game. On that performance he be lucky to stay in the reserve starting line up imo.

I wonder if the press have it wrong (as per usual) and perhaps we’ve enquired about the availability of Watford’s Jerome Sinclair? His career has took off at the rate which was promised a few years ago and there is a Liverpool connection? I also wonder if we’d look at Dominic Solanke again? Although this goes a little against the grain regarding high valued players unlikely to come to Rangers, that boy really needs game time as he’s only played 7 games?

First time poster and i believe we or 4 or 5 players off the mark positions needed 1. cb lookong at tim klose don't know enough about 2. lb barasic has potential but i'd go for greg taylor ex rangers youth at killie only 21/ 22 cost 750k round about that 3. Creative midfielder bradley dack would be great but out our depth financially pssibly marcus maddison woukd be a shout and i'd say and another ST get players ie herrera lafferty mcauley alnwick grezda coulibally worrall holt off the wage bill also bears i'd keep morelos and pray someway we could keep kent another season and i'd go Murphy and kent on the wings with my 11 roughly mcgregor tav goldson katic or new cb taylor lb kamara jack arfield plus sign davis murphy kent and then morelos/ defoe upfront.

Nope. I'd sell Morelos if we get a reasonable offer. He really has become a liability and probably knocked off 10 million for his stupidity against Celtic. Don't cast all blame on Brown. He's become the easiest target and biggest wind up merchant in Scottish football and his 5 reds have cost us the league.

Trueblue, you're entitled to your opinion but the worst post seems harsh. I've read posters saying forgive Morelos because he's South American and hot headed. Messi isn't, Aguero isn't. I had the privilege of seeing Socratis of Brazil playing. A class act and probably the best ever player I saw live. Never lost his cool or retaliated.

why not the worst post i have read, i could name you hundreds of players who ain't lost the head, what's that got to do with you only mentioning the tic game in particular, you won't cut him any slack because he is easily wound up, some of the cards he got were not warranted, i personally don't think he should be sold because you won't find any other cheap player who is going to give you his goal ratio.

Are we supposed to be grateful now that the compliance team have let Defoe "off the hook" for assaulting Lewis. It's becoming so pathetic and transparent now.
I guess every single collision across the league will be getting reviewed each week then. Defoe is trying to veer away from the keeper and Lewis continues forward with his elbows out to collide with Defoe, where's Lewis' attempt to avoid the collision. The BBC and some of our voluntary compliance officers in the East end actually have the bald face cheek to say Katic has went down with minimal contact to his face yet you'd think Defoe had just laid a Haye-maker on Lewis and broke him in two. Don't remember anyone calling Brown embarrassing or dramatic when he went down holding his face when he clearly got hit in the chest. It's getting so pathetic now, the public put so much pressure on Brown to get cited so they do but in such a pathetic way that it's just swept under the carpet, yet several replays and a mention of it on the BBC and some whining on twitter and this had made it to the compliance officer, in what must've been a day at most, over something that must happen across the whole of scottish football on a weekly basis. If that's not evidence of what we're truly up against I don't know what is. Thought it was Morelos that had his card marked but this is getting silly now.

No one likes us, we don't care! It's actually becoming embarrassing how blatantly the BBC and some journalists try to taint everything the club does. They are still bitching about Morelos when he isn't even playing. Two stone-wall penalties and a goal wrongly chopped off and Rangers are the bad guys!

I found McInnes’ comments on Katic hilarious. Listen to his interview again when he’s slaying Katic. In the SAME sentence he says Ferguson should go down (dive) then he says Katic has went down too easy (he dived) . So if an Aberdeen player dives that’s completely acceptable but if a rangers players dives then he’s an embarrassment.

Also, never understood that when broonie went down holding his face in both hands after being touched on the chest by Morelos, why the compliance officer did not ask why he was holding his face?

SG said katic went down easy and wasn’t a pen and sheep player shouldn’t have had 2nd yellow and he is right was never a pen in a million years, it was a disgrace what katic done.
Also Defoe has no reason to throw his arm up at the keeper tho they weren’t much in it to be honest and the sheep keeper could have got out the way.

Gannet - Katic did what almost every European player would have done - go down. Even Andy Walker stated at the time that Katic was right and that it WAS a penalty. You do not have to be poleaxed to be given a penalty - obstruction is enough.

The katic pen was soft, but considines arms did catch him, therefore it's not a dive. He gives the ref a decision to make.

Brown should have been booked for crowd incitement. I hope that when we take care of them at ibrox next week, we make sure that our celebrations are clear for ALL to see.

There's been much talk on here about signing players and then loaning them out or keep loaning out our young players because they are too young. What rubbish. Just look at Ajax this season. Not much different from Scotland with the financial predicament Dutch clubs are in as Ajax have to sell but their manager has put youngsters in the team and they have been brilliant. I've said it on here before, if you are old good enough you are old enough. How long do we wait for our kids to be given a chance? Until they are 30? Rant over, but Ajax are a breath of fresh air and have hardly been in Europe's 'elite' in recent years.

Ajax unlike rangers and even Celtic have colt teams playing in the lower division which a lot of there young players now have played in and got good experience playing against seasoned pros. Our youngsters don’t get that playing in reserve football as most teams made up of under 20s players and youth players. Sfa need to get it sorted and allow us to get colt teams into lower leagues and follow the Dutch way of doing things and we might be in a position like Ajax one day.

the problem Ally had in lower leagues was we HAD to get back to SPL as quixkly as possible and that would have been a risk filling the team with kids.

Doiger I'm not sure why you find this hard to grasp mate, if they are ready they will play. They have to be ready physically and mentally as well as ability. If they are not and you play them you could hinder their development. Take liam burt for example, despite the hype, introduced far too early to the first team. As for your super ally comment. Some of the young guys were ready and some were not. But I guarentee you that we would not have had it all our own way in the lower leagues if played all youth because the majority were not ready physically or mentally and relied heavily on the older pro's for these attributes otherwise the kids would have been eaten alive in the lower leagues particularly the championship. Its about balance. You can't just play youth for the sake of it doiger👍.

Barry mckay, frazer aird etc got a chance doiger but were not good enough at the higher level, that's why they are no longer with us. So your theory that we could have been in a better position on our return to the spl is nonsense because guys like mckay perry aird etc got a chance but were not good enough, some were not good enough for the championship mate👍.

I'm not buying that. We could've signed promising youngsters from all over Scotland when we got put down the divisions and saved millions. Fans would've accepted defeats as long as promotions was the end result. We had our chance then and now it's gone. Nothing done right after going down. Was a joke.

We could have signed youngsters patmo but we never👍. We are talking about the youth we have now and the youth we had then. Not what if's👍 you are right though, we had no proper structure from the 3rd div right through until mark allen and the board sorted it out👍.
