Good to see Hooper didn't win young player or the main award. Common sense has prevailed, the poor mans Boyd doesn't deserve it.

Athiest

I think you live in a Utopian world where everyone agrees on everything. There is a large section who would find both inflammatory. He was cautioned by the police for blessing himself and swearing at the Rangers fans because the police thought it was done to provoke the fans. Which it was. You didn't answer the question, the answer is the police want the players and managers to act responsibly something Bourc and Lennon never seem to do. Don't defend the indefensible. Whether you want it to be offensive or not doesn't matter it was done to offend.

On the issue of Atheist saying the 'god bless the pope t-shirt' wasn't inflammatory I've got to ask Ed, do you agree? I know we are a bit off subject hear, the point being that display of something on a shirt was done to wind people up. I don't believe congratulating William and Kate on their wedding is done to wind people up. Any opinions other than Atheist would be interesting.

GovanFR {Ed001's Note - as a neutral I don't like either t-shirt personally. But, on the other hand, anyone who is seriously offended by either of them needs to grow up a bit and probably shouldn't be allowed out on their own anyway.}

A question for you, do you think the police would
be happy to see Celtic players wearing tops like that at OF games?
yes or no.
GovanFR

I would hope that the answer would neither yes nor no. I would expect the police to be indifferent. On the other hand, if the message had actually been inflammatory then I would expect them to act. But "God bless the Pope"??

Oh, while we're on the subject, a man cupping his hands to his ears is not inflammatory either.

Why would Gers spend £1 million on Murphy at Birmingham.When his contract is up in the summer?Be happy with him mind you.He did well for Hibs.But Eck might want to keep him.He has not offered new deals yet to his players.He will at the end of the year though.When he gets to see what kind of cash that he has to play with.When he tries to win the Ueafa cup.And do better like he did in his first year in the EPL.

True bhrydo bhoy, I think there should be only one rule. . common sense! If no one's gettin hurt or seriously offended just get on with it. UEFA/ SFA dictate all these rules and no one can challenge them. Ma mrs must work there, lol.

Anyway I think the hearts game will b the decider for both of teams. Can't see killie, well or dundee beating the of. My opinion (I have known to b wrong tho)

GovanFR. The question of whether Boruc was right or wrong to display his feelings is irrelevant. My question was why you would think it was inflammatory. In any event, if Rangers constant defence (that it is a minority that would be so inflammed) is true, I would expect the decent majority would point offenders out to stewards/ police to ensure public order.

Your ridiculous arguement is just one reason why I am proud to be an atheist.

Atheist

It is inflammatory because he did it specifically to wind people up. Whether we agree with these people or not does not change that fact. I am not religious so all it did for me was to make Boruc look like a fool. A question for you, do you think the police would be happy to see Celtic players wearing tops like that at OF games? yes or no.

Some of the rules are just plain embarressing c-bear, can't celebrate a goal, can't be nice with a message on a shirt, who are these bloody imbosiles destroying OUR game. . can we not get rid of THEM, can we not fine THEM. . for being stuck in the mud fuds. It seems Hitler didn't shoot himself, hes spent the last 50yr writing the rules on enjoying a football match or as most people know it. . . UEFA.
bhrydo bhoy. . . . its time we got rid of the fuds at uefa. . .its time to rip it up and start again.

Im more worried about why the managment and even Davie himself never knew about it. .anyhoo its much ado about nothing. . good win for the bhoys today. .

GovanFR said "Does anyone remember Boruc wearing a t-shirt saying 'God Bless the Pope' in an OF game? This was inflammatory. ."

Inflammatory? Why?

I think The Duke of Cambridge would be happier if the Rangers captain wore a shirt with a message stating that all taxes due to his Granny's Revenue and Customs were now paid in full.

Atheist

It is inflammatory because everyone is aware of the religious divide amongst OF fans. Why was it relevant at the time atheist. Dont try and take a high ground and act as though Boruc did it because he is a truly religious man. Your response is truly ignorant, nothing more than I would expect of you, why bring religion into football? Especially in an OF game. I'm glad you have responded like this, it shows that you are incapable of taking an impartial view and accepting Boruc was wrong to do what he did.

Naismith has scored 4 goals less than Hooper this season and he doesn't even play up front.

Back to the Player of the year stuff. Hooper is just a Boyd that doesn't score as much. Naismith has added goals and his creativity has been fantastic this season, he works extremely hard tracking back and, for me, has been the most deserving after Izaguirre. McGregor could have been in there but I think the reason he isn't is because he is so consistently good that people have come to expect the standards he produces week in week out.

PS. Anyone notice Connor Sammon was in team of the year and yet Miller wasn't, how does this work?

Does anyone remember Boruc wearing a t-shirt saying 'God Bless the Pope' in an OF game? This was inflammatory and has no relevance whatsoever. Nothing was done about it, therefore it is highly hypocritical of the SFA to complain about Weir wearing a top congratulating Kate and William. There is no common sense left in this country. Friday was a holiday for EVERYONE.

In what way was daivd weirs shirt political or religious?? If he had a message wishin his daughter a happy day would that get him in trouble?? Na. . ur post there was a load of sh*te. I do agree with u about mcgregor, how he was never nominated I will never know. If it wernt for him celtic would have won the title by now. He produced a cppl of saves yesterday again.

C-bear85 {Ed001's Note - it doesn't matter mate, personal messages are also not allowed unless the authorities are informed beforehand. Apparently footballers are not allowed to have beliefs, ideals or personalities while on the pitch in case they influence people watching into also having their own beliefs, ideals and personalities......}
