Wes Fod interview with Si Ferry now on you tube. Pretty candid in parts and some funny bits but IMO some ill advised comments that a retired player can get away with if he wants to let the cat out the bag but if your still playing and speaking about players and managers that are still playing or in the game at a good level you have to watch what you say.

01 Jun 2020 23:19:29
Fod was average at best and simply not good enough to be no1 and take Rangers to the level required. He should keep quiet and find himself a club in the lower leagues in England which is his level.

02 Jun 2020 06:50:46
I tend to slightly disagree with you there steviec71!I thought wes foderingham was a good goalie and although admittedly not better than allan mcgregor, he very rarely let rangers down! When he first came and obviously our team was much worse than now, he saved us many times. In fact when celtic beat us 5-1 at ibrox several years back, in all honesty it could have been easily double figures that day as foderingham had a clutch of great saves! I think you're being a wee bit harsh on fods!

02 Jun 2020 07:41:02
He did his job got us promoted have a few fond memories and a few nightmares wasnt the worst Number 1 we had but he won't be up there with the greats either.

02 Jun 2020 07:57:20
Fod always seemed a decent guy and respect that if he was treated badly, as reported, he kept his mouth shut and continued to work hard. Perhaps he knew what we all saw? That McGregor is different class and if truth be told, Fod was lucky to ever get to wear our shirt.

I've no time for anyone who says he was a good shot stopper. All keepers are fantastic shot stoppers. What makes a keeper is his ability to read an attack and to command his area when needed. He was utterly useless in truth and his failings were typical of the players brought in by Warburton. Upgrading from him to McGregor was like trading your BMX for a Porsche and he should count himself lucky he was kept for so long.

02 Jun 2020 08:45:25
Honestly never known a keeper let in so many long range shots. People keep saying he's too good a keeper to be number 2 is just rubbish. he's average.

02 Jun 2020 11:03:59
Fod was a good shot stopper but very poor when commanding his box and when he got the ball at his feet my heart missed a beat. Good luck to him👍.

02 Jun 2020 21:13:43
Coldo. I feel the same way when Goldson has the ball at his feet. Good to see you back on board. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️😎👍.

02 Jun 2020 21:17:48
Coldo. I get the same feeling every time that Goldson gets the ball. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️😎👍.

02 Jun 2020 23:38:09
Cheers Cunny👍.

03 Jun 2020 11:35:47
Conny, i get that feeling every time the ball goes in the box, tav & goldson, have me on medication, lol, mate. only kidding about meds.

01 Jun 2020 20:41:07
Looking forward to next season because

THE BLUEBELLS ARE BLUE!

01 Jun 2020 22:45:41
Just a pity we won't be at Ibrox to see our team!

01 Jun 2020 19:58:31
Lauren Jones, Castore Ambassador. I've just watched this young lady talk up the product, a very brave and inspirational person.
She is a Paralympic tennis player.
From the time of her accident she has followed our team as Graeme Murty took her to his heart.

She followed Reading at the time and Murty was the captain.
She speaks about Murty and our club with great fondness.
Guys go on and listen. She also tells us Castore are to release a ladies top to the market as well.
I for one will be following Lauren who now feels she is part of the Rangers team.

01 Jun 2020 22:23:24
Just watched, what an inspiration. To come back from such bad luck and fight to the top of her sport. Awesome.

02 Jun 2020 10:01:14
Watched it John25 what a great speaker and inspiration this girl is. Well done Graeme Murty for keeping in contact with her.

02 Jun 2020 10:06:19
People inspire people. what a great story and a lady well worth listening to.

02 Jun 2020 21:12:42
Thanks guys for reading, this young ladies bravery and the love she has found for our great club and the way she feels treated by bears deserves our support.

01 Jun 2020 19:19:14
Scottish Football Writers' Association announced their shortlist earlier. Morelos. Eduoard. Shankland and McGregor.

The wrong McGregor though.

01 Jun 2020 19:33:21
bet you alfie comes last.

01 Jun 2020 20:03:06
Alfredo Morelos won't win the scottish writers player of the year not because he doesn't deserve to,
its because they don't like him!

01 Jun 2020 20:23:55
Eduoard will win it. Almost put my mortgage on it.

01 Jun 2020 20:28:07
We all know who will win that then🙄.

01 Jun 2020 21:04:27
Considering it was only 3/ 4s of a season, name a better player than Alfie in the first 1/ 2.

02 Jun 2020 04:58:50
First half of season Alfie would have been a stick on for it but let’s no pretend he was not shocking for 3 months after Christmas. He will deservedly not win it.

02 Jun 2020 10:15:23
Probably give it to Morelos to shut us up lol.

02 Jun 2020 21:15:42
again everyone picking on Morelos, the whole team was rank rotten after new year.

01 Jun 2020 17:22:36
I hope Scot brown does the decent thing and put a mask on the C.V. trophy when he parades it.

01 Jun 2020 19:08:33
No kidding here fellow bears, but scott brown reminds me of they cannibal hillbillies in the very first hills have eyes horror films! 😂😂.

01 Jun 2020 19:32:35
SGL- No mate, that boy from The Hills Have Eyes is far more hansom! And he had a better food diet!

01 Jun 2020 20:37:10
Popcorn teeth was rejected for a roll on the hills!

01 Jun 2020 22:49:26
He's more like the lad playing the banjo in the film Deliverance.

01 Jun 2020 22:43:01
He's been rejected a few times for a roll on the Hay.

01 Jun 2020 16:43:26
John25 and Paulellen with regards to Phenytoin I know it was a typing error on Johns part and I now know it's a drug to treat Epilepsy and Neuralgia thanks to my daughter who works in medicine . Surely when posting you would go over it and check for spelling mistakes.

01 Jun 2020 17:17:37
Oldkilly sometome my dyslexia kicks in.
So don’t u worry about it too much because I won’t.

02 Jun 2020 10:07:02

Gordon Banks

01 Jun 2020 10:07:38
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new player profile about, Gordon Banks

01 Jun 2020 11:51:05
Ed 01, great profile on Banks of England. He was not only the best goalkeeper in the world but a lovely man. First saw him in 1966 at Hampden and who could ever forget that save from Pele in 1970.

{Ed001's Note - thank you, he was one of my heroes growing up. I love players who work at their game to become better. It is a shame he was lost to the game after being badly treated when he first went into coaching. His work as a coach could have been invaluable, he coached himself after all!}

01 Jun 2020 12:24:42
Ed01, to be honest I was not too aware of him being badly treated as a coach. I remember well the car accident and loss of his eye and recovery period. The next time I recall seeing him regularly was when member of the pools panel. I agree sad that he never progressed into coaching if that became his goal.

{Ed001's Note - Telford United shafted him when he managed them. I am doing his Legends of the Game article now and it was sad that he felt disrespected by players of the time who were not listening to him. I mean when you get a player that good, you would think you would listen to what he has to say!}

01 Jun 2020 13:13:20
Ed01, I’ll be interested to find out more about the coaching period and why he was unable to gain success. Think I recall Bobby Charlton bringing a swift end to any thoughts of coaching around the same time.

{Ed001's Note - I have added it to my to do list for an article as it is not something I am going into detail about in the Legends article. I do think it deserves its own article.

By the way, is there some relevance in your choice of name to your interest in Banks? It does seem to be more than a coincidence.}

01 Jun 2020 13:16:28
Totally agree guys. Gordon Banks what a keeper the save from Pele was world class and he came across as a modest guy.

01 Jun 2020 13:49:44
Ed01, When Banks was injured on that car crash, recall Stoke City signed Mike McDonald then a young promising goalkeeper at Clydebank FC, my then hometown team. It was said at the time he was being signed to replace Banks. “Bankie” is the colloquial name given to people who come from the town of Clydebank. Unfortunately McDonald did not make it at Stoke and returned later to Scotland to play for Hibs. At school I also played keeper and loved Banks.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok, I never knew that about Clydebank locals being Bankies. That makes sense. It was such a shame Banks didn't return to playing after losing his eye. He showed in the US he could still perform, even after a lengthy break. It does seem odd a Scot loving Banks though, as he must have been a pain in the arse against Scotland in the Home Internationals!}

01 Jun 2020 14:15:41
Not in 1967 when we won the World Cup at Wembley!

{Ed001's Note - ah yes of course. I had forgotten about that.}

01 Jun 2020 15:09:49
Slim Jim ran things that game remember Jack Charlton got injured but had to play on cause there was no subs.
My my was a born and bred bankie (parkhall) .

01 Jun 2020 09:42:45
English Championship up and running by the 29th June. Yet another league starting up again.
Why was the SPFL so quick to hand the Tims a tainted title. So much more to be answered by that shower and who is actually running Scottish football at this time.

01 Jun 2020 11:14:30
Big Peter, after getting his own way with SPL lackeys, is now raging. Great to see Liverpool have opportunity to win the title.

01 Jun 2020 11:39:55
You lot would of been devastated if the league had started up again, at least the way it has happened has given you something to whinge about. It has also saved Stevie G his job.

01 Jun 2020 12:41:29
I truly think you're talking absolute mince stevie, when you state that finishing the tainted 8.75 in a row you now have, would have cost steven gerrard his job. Stevie G was always getting 3 years at least at this my obsessive friend. It proves it once again, it is all about the rangers for your lot, so it is! 🤫.

01 Jun 2020 13:01:31
Stop league hand mhanks the title.
Start up again hand mhanks the cup.
I hope somebody makes this farce into a film 🎥it would be the best carry on film ever made.
CARRY ON ACCEPTING.

01 Jun 2020 13:06:20
Stevie, it’s your own fans that have been shafted. The mere fact that the decision was made too early will always be viewed as costing your team the chance to win 9. It must be the worse feeling ever knowing that the winning streak was taken away from you by your greedy CEO who, will most likely earn a big bonus for delivering an awarded title.

Personally if it had been Rangers who were awarded the title I would be fuming that the glory of winning it had been taken away from the fans. Next season starts a new streak for the eventual winners, unless of course the title is awarded (not won) for a second time.

01 Jun 2020 14:37:38
Very true and well written post Hewhohearsvoices! 👌👏The celtic fans are fuming deep down mate. I know a few here who at least had the honesty and decency to admit it!

01 Jun 2020 16:11:14
It is all perfectly simple guys. Life and death are more important than football, despite what old Shankly once said. The football leagues across the world should have been stopped and declared null and void and written off.

Start again next season. Perhaps there are financial issues at play which is fair enough but for goodness sake. Celtic's title 'wins' since 2012 have all been tainted and they know it. Major sporting events like the Olympics, the Euros and the tennis majors have all had to be cancelled. Some things are really just a bit more important.

01 Jun 2020 07:40:02
Ann Rangers will not vote for reconstruction hearts never done anything for us good bye enjoy the spl championship.

01 Jun 2020 12:44:50
Agree.

01 Jun 2020 07:31:47
12 teams in our league. using only 1 player from each team pick your top 11 plus 1 sub. celtics players are also allowed (if you dare) can use 2 from any club if you don't want to include a celtic player.

01 Jun 2020 15:49:56
McCrorie Livingston
Hickie Hearts
Boyle Hibs
McKenna Sheep
Gallagher Motherwell
Hendry St Johnstone
Christie Septick
Burke Killie
Morelos The Famous
McKay Ross C
Templeton Hamilton

Sub
Obika St Mirre

That was hard, a lot of pish teams.

01 Jun 2020 00:59:04
Last season against teams that wanted to play football we excelled. Against teams that parked the bus, which turns out is most, we were outfought way too often and lost silly points.
I would honestly say it's the smallest set of forwards I've seen at ibrox in my lifetime. Next season a big nasty forward or two who are dominant in the air would do nice and a bit more direct when the time suits. Make those teams that want to sit on their 6 yard line with 9 men pay for that choice. Teams will soon try come at us if we had a 6ft+ forward or two who will beat their cb's in the air or win the knockdowns most of the time. No disrespect to Defoe but if morelos wasn't winning the battles upfront last season then no one was.

01 Jun 2020 07:43:20
1st half of season we were on course to rattle the league. then arriving back from dubai i'm sure rangers left their testosterone on the plane because we wouldve failed a survey after that. no ine showed leadership. agreed we definately need a tall strong striker upfront.

Also need new tactics when teams do park their busses on their 18 yard line. problem was we got found out and it showed. Against celtic and in europa we excelled because teams actually played against us. After dubai donestically we got found out. park the bus then counter. Job done! when we struggled for a win in the scottish cup straight after dubai i was like wtf. couppe weeks ago we wouldve demolished them. end of the day it was a joke. i wouldve been calmer playing celtic than hearts or hamilton. celtic wouldve cane at us . therefore i do believe we wouldve beat them. atleast at ibrox of not both of them.

Worst part of the whole season wasnt on the pitch though. it was when our captain. decided to let the whole world know he thought rangers were pussies. thought he was sh! t before that but don't like him in a rangers jersey. doesn't deserve to wear it. Neither does morelos. that moany wee fu@%ker can do one aswell. had much love for him 1st half of last season. Then he didn't get his january move n spat the dummy and rangers as a whole paid the price.

01 Jun 2020 07:57:14
Bob, you're spot on mate, we were far too weak in a few areas this season and need more strength up front and in midfield especially.

01 Jun 2020 08:44:44
Bobmcbob, that's why i've continually said on here we should be signing lyndon dykes for the types of games you mention. Horses for courses and there's no one on here going/ can tell me that dykes wouldn't be able to do it for rangers within the scottish league,
because i'll telling you he would.
Let kamberi go back to hibs and sign lyndon dykes + another striker if alfredo leaves.

01 Jun 2020 09:27:11
Teams were parking the bus against us before Xmas. We were beating those teams easy enough then.

01 Jun 2020 09:49:44
Totally agree on tavernier mate never ever going to be captain material, need a captain that's ruthless and doesn't know when he's beat, honestly think you can piss up taverniers leg and he wouldn't mind.

Out our current bunch I would probably pick ryan jack. Whilst Goodson is vocal, I don't think he's actually earned the right to start every game. he's just like tavernier in regard that he's come from the english youth set up, which generally produce weak characters as they are cash spoilt from a young age.

01 Jun 2020 13:00:26
While what Tav said was stupid, hope however approved it to go in the programme got a bottom kicking too!

01 Jun 2020 14:49:18
Snell Traynor no longer at Rangers.
