Not a rumour but a wee shout out to the Linwood Rangers under 13 s who won 3-1 against Celtic boys today to win the west of Scotland trophy and follow up their success winning the scottish cup a few weeks ago

Celtic supporter coming in peace. Firstly I would applaud your club on some decent signings- not top drawer but certainly good enough for Scottish football regardless of which league.
My question would be. do you never learn from the past? If the figures are to be believed you are losing over £1m per month, maybe 6 players brought in so far on surely very good wages (£5-£7k per week) to entice them to play in the lower leagues, no top earners have left so far. so losses must be increasing by the day. Supporters clambering for this old player and that spl mercenary. This is exactly what got the oldco into liquidation. Surely this can't be a feasible business model given the financial constraints in the lower leagues and indeed Scottish football.

Hi Celtic supporter, I understand there will always be an interest in us balancing the books from now on and also understand you are not out to cause trouble.
But, can you or anybody else confirm what our monthly turnover is?
We need the hard facts of audited accounts before we can critisize the policy being deployed at our club.
(Hopefully we are not being as crazy as before)
Scottish football does need both old firm teams, this year has proved that with other SPL/DIV1 clubs stuggling without both teams paying a visit.
And sorry for this, the lack of interest at Parkhead for legue games having a one horse race SPL.

@1 got it in 1 by your quote " if the figures are to be believed"

First of all JD we as Rangers supporters do have to keep an eye on our affairs, but let's get one or two things straight here. We lost so much money due to having to build a new squad, without getting any money on the players we lost. I do agree that the talk of old players coming back is nonsense, but that is only rumours. I thank you for your concerns, but mabe now you should concentrate on your own club, who can't sell season tickets, and need to close their top deck. Oh and by the way did Dermot desmond's tax evasion/avoidance help Celtic. p. s don't liten to the likes of Phil multi names he will jusst fill you with hatered, and consume you with bile. Wake up my man and be an Individual not a sheep. Niv.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3. Celtic are doing fine, in fact better than fine. Need to close the top deck? Don't think so. Try dealing in facts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dounebear. our accounts for six months were far from good and showed exactly how much we were losing on a monthly basis that was hard facts and yes we seem to be as crazy as before.
Scottish football will always need us and them but unfortunatly for us, its pay back time, for all the years of stupid buying, paying large wages, in Scottish football.
The days of reconing arrived just at the same time we got demoted/admin etc, the bubble has burst football is to costly and needs to change? we need to realise that now. and spend less because the whole thing will be in meltdown before we get back to the top.

Celtic closing the top deck is a fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just been at paradise renewing my ticket and can tell you for a fact Celtic are not closing their top deck as that's where I sit

@ 5 Yes I agree the first accounts of the new company were not impressive at all, but it was stated to be transitional with the legacy of pre TUPE agreements. ( high wage earners included)
If the next set of accounts when they eventually arrive show the same trend then YES time to ring the alarm bells.
I do not know who we bank with now but surley we will not be allowed to do / or want to run up the overdraft of the LLOYDS / SDM era?

First post on this site, but I often see, mostly celtic fans, post the "1mil loss per month" quote far too often. Surely someone else, apart from me has looked at the interim results that were published and noticed a huge fat clearly obvious NON-RECURRING football debt of £3.5mil for the 7 month figures. that's £500k per month loss for all those maths wizzes out there on this alone. Ergo, the loss per month is £500k on a recurring basis. Once you then strip out savings on Edu's, broadfoots, bedonkey, kyle and sandaza's salaries which were paid for those 7 months interim results, plus potential savings on Alexander, Goian and Boca if they all leave, the debt per month would reduce to around the 300k per month mark. That is not taking into account the new sponsorship deals we have got which start for the coming season with Puma, direct sports etc. so our loss could be further reduced (and then increased with the new signings to about the same level). Overall, pictures not as bleak as all the celtic fans love to hammer on about. our losses for the next financial year would be at a push 4mil (not 12mil). As we progress, we will get higher sponsorship revenue, higher cup (assuming ally can do a cup run for a change) and league winnings and european cup run revenue (eventually). Tie this all together and it doesn't seem so bleak. Gowny

@6) Your mistaking fact for sh*te mate. Its a complete fabrication which you heard off another Rangers supporter or om Rangers media. Mince.

Attendances were down, no question about it. Celtic still had a higher average attendance than Rangers last season after all the talk by you lot to the contrary. By the way there's proof to back that up. Wheres your proof to back up the top deck closing. Exactly. lies.

Agree0 Disagree0

A The Rangers fan started the rumour Celtic were closing the top deck. It simply isn't true and a lie. The whole of the Celtic Park Arena is open for business and season tickets have been on sale for a few weeks now.

N9 good to see a post that I agree with completely hope too read some more from you and the rest of the true bears forever tmwnn

Now that CEO Green, Director Commercial Ahmad and Chairman Murray have gone, I expect CFO Stockbridge to go soon.
Leaving Wattie, Ally, Sandy and Mathers with the can (of worms).

Murray is still at Rangers mate as a non ex director. And long may that continue, as in no way shape or form do I want the Easdales or that other guy Morgan anywhere near our board. Better the devil you know. Niv

Ally remains utterly correct. The club needs cleansed. But M Murray, the good guy, has been the only one ousted. That's not what Ally was calling for. In fact, the dirty tricks used against Murray bothers us all and those guys are still in control. Meanwhile James Traynor, Director of Media never comes out and clarifys anything.
Directors of communication are supposed to be front centre of our screens, getting the message over. Tony Blair's Dir Comms, Alastair Campbell was outstanding.
Traynor should be out showing the ownership names on the various deeds for starters instead of the covers charade we were served up. That was just treating us as stupid and left them with egg on their faces with that spiv stunt charade.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jabba Traynor is utterly useless at Ibrox. Even worse at PR than he was as a radio broadcaster & journalist. Wish we'd get shot of him ASAP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr Traynor could get over to Derry City. A very similar situation to Rangers regarding Bad money management, contracts and renaming. This club has been allowed by UEFA to carry its co-efficant standing to be carried forward and is there-fore recognised by UEFA as the same football club. I believe Mr Traynor should get over to Ireland and find out exactly how easy it is to do his job.

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 I read that piece myself we always knew the truth and going by leeds situation ide imaging the story about us history wise will be sorted out when we get back to top league even that won't be good enough for the un educated eh tmwnn

Agree0 Disagree0

Latest CG tape is showing him in conversation with Whyte about UEFA sactions after july 2012.

So Green (CEO) happy to dicuss confidential talks with whyte.

you could not make this up, yet MM under pressure for hotel staff hearing him talking on phone. ? Where is tape of this (madeup) claim?

I think spivs will leave and Smiths £6million bid from last year will be used to plug gaps. but that this will be dwarfed by maint cost for ibrox so club will teeter this year.

Smith will be fall guy as no experience as chair - but we all know we trust in him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look on bright side - Jabba not on radio anymore - thank god.

I can not wait for season tickets to open. Now is time for the fans to get behind the team and Ally and trust Walter to take care of the board room. Everyone outside of our club has tried to tarnish & destroy us. Cheesy as it is all we have is each other & we must Follow On as 1!.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah yeah. Get behind Whyte, he's the man.
Get behind Green he's the man.
Get behind Mathers he's the man.
Get behind Malcolm Murray, he's the man.

Now its get behind Smith cause he's the man. But today he's apparently got a change of heart and only there for short term.

It's got to be accounts and deeds before season tickets. They have to prove everything is ok and above board.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, the only way forward is to come out and produce accounts.
If we are losing millions like stated by others then get it out in open, we big enough boys to take it.
If we are spending millions we can ill afford then tell us and we will understand? that we need to cut costs, don't keep spending, spending spending, the share money.
We had a clean slate. no more debt was the promise, we can't allow the past to happen ever again.
Produce the books now. or just admit you a bunch of using liars out for one thing OUR MONEY.

Were all behind walter the mans a saviour

N3 I totally agree with you mate ide like to know what team n1 and n2 follow tmwnn

Agree0 Disagree0

@3: what's he saved?

@4: why do you need to know what clubs they support? Are you conducting a survey?

Agree0 Disagree0

@4. You really need to wake up. Would you buy any goods without knowing what the specs are? I want to know what will happen to my st cash and that it will not disappear with the spivs. Show us the books and who owns the club Walter.

Agree0 Disagree0

N6 if you think ws is trying to fool us for the spivs then don't buy book until you are happy enough by n4

Green all over the press contradicting himself as usual stating he left to get the stories and press about Whyte out the news, then puts him squarely in the news big time!

What's that all about?

Rangers and Green have read Whytes lawyers 330 page dossier and have concluded they can argue against it for ten years.

In which case there's very strong legal grounds supporting Whyte, Early and their backers. That's not delusional. Not when his partners and backers have the same story.

I fear Rangers and fans will be funding this legal wrangle with season tickets for a decade, or longer, knowing Green could be under selling the problem. How can anyone invest or trade shares knowing Whyte could own it all?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Que sera, sera. Seriously it will be what it will be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't had time to have a look at all this but I really hope that this isn't some excuse so Whyte is given an out of court settlement. I'm sure 100% of Bears will agree that would be totally the wrong thing to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op these strong legal grounds are what has told his lawyer there are two sides to every story whites family agree with whyte tell me any family whom wouldn't back their own especialy for money whytes been proven to be a liar in a court of law already he will have lots of time to realise his mistake when he is signing for his ppc money lol tmwnn
