It must be a Bad news Week with some X Players spitting the Dummy out whilst the media mix it up Foster you were never Rangers class and how you got signed once never mind twice is beyond me, Ian Black you were useless beyond comprehention and totally out of your depth and with the money you took out of Ibrox in wages, you'd think you would just go quietly, Chris Boyd bumping yer gums just be glad you got another team, thanks for your service now all of you Feck off losers!

I didn't realise Black was such a sensitive wee soul- "nobody bothered to thank him for his efforts" (or words to that effect)
Now in 50 odd years of watching Rangers he might not be the worst player to play for the club but by god he is well short of our top players none of whom played in the worst 3 leagues in Scotland.
I would have thought the three years of excessive wages and the club sticking by him when he bet against his own team amounted to more thanks than his play or behaviour warranted.
But hey us oldies have different values

Bongo, Mr King, Murray and Gilligan along with a plethora of ex players and Managers have stated repeatedly that we need to get back to our expected standards. I am afraid that the way the club has treated our ex players that have been released ( if true) is just downright rude and certainly not the standards I expect from our club. The players are correct to be disappointed, the club should apologise and move on.

Sorry can't agree mate, how many of the wasters who took money under false pretences, apologised for their ineptitude or gave an explanation for their performances week in week out, against mainly semi pro's and part timer's,did any of these sensitive fannies really expect anything other than to be unceremoniously shown the door. Big jock would have chased them down Edmiston with a big stick long before their contracts had expired.

Watching and listening to all the rumours and new young signings, I will admit to being very excited about the season ahead.
Feels a bit like w and w are getting to play Championship manager but for real. I would love to be in their shoes.

League might not be a stroll but I am genuinely excited about the year ahead, new fresh exciting players. Bring it on.

Championship Manager. Exactly. I've been thinking CM for weeks now since someone posted a list of player to go for which looked as if it had been cut and pasted from CM and some of the posts really do look as if they are basing their knowledge of the players being linked or signed on their CM profile.
However, I can't get excited. I haven't played CM for years now and therefore don't know any of these players signed or linked with signing (or sighning, as someone keeps posting). Be honest, how many have actually seen any of these players play and how many only know them from playing CM?

totaly agree that the rangers board should act proffesionaly but as far as the rangers players last season, (i won't mention any names incase they take offence) they received the treatment they deserved. who are they to talk about profesionalism when they never turned up for the majoraty of games last season. god save the KING

I see most posters on here agreeing with Mr King's "under achievers" blast at the players released, no arguments there. But surely the biggest under achiever is Mr King himself judging by the quality of players Warburton is a) signing and b) targeting, some little questions where is the MILLIONS mr King promised to invest? When will the new infrastructure appear within Ibrox? When will a scouting system be put in place?

Hahahaha

We have a full back on trial deemed surplus to requirements at man city. You have just signed a full back deemed surplus to requirements at man utd. Seems we are both in the market for a similar standard of player.

He will invest it once were back in the top league and competing in Europe, investing big on players means we need to invest big on their wages alswell pointless doing it in this league then we end up losing 10 million over the year then we have barely any money to invest in the squad when we're back in the spl why for a minute do you want this to happen then we will be back in the state we were before spending millions more than what we bring in, USE YOUR BRAIN!

Bluenose what you are saying is indeed right, sensible and logical. However it is not what Dave King said on June 1st. He said there will be a three year overspend, it will be front loaded and ideally if 45,000 of you buy season tickets a pool of money purely to be invested in the team to the tune of £12m - £13m, any shortfall is where himself and the board will invest. That is pretty clear and possibly gave the fans some indication of the quality of signing to expect. He made this announcement before Warburton arrived but still those are the words from his mouth.

Let us get this into perspective today is the first official day of the transfer window.
RFC have already signed 2 CBs several other players are on trial and some ,or all will likely sign this week.
The nonsense from some of the obsessed going on about DK and his investment need to calm down.
RFC will invest on the right players at the right price as and when the management team identify their targets.
I am sure there are many tlks taking place right now.
I have complete faith in the new board and the new management team.

Everything thus far the board has said would happen has ,so I have no doubt if a suitable target to W&W comes into view the necessary funds will be made available.

"Everything thus far the board has said would happen has." Like getting a nomad in a matter of days Scotty? How did that one pan out, remind me?

02 Jul 2015 00:29:05
The words "in a few days" are words that were not used.
Indeed the incumbent nominess reneged on their promise to remian in place until such times as a new Nomad had been identified.
Again it is only the fans of the obsessed that seem at all concerned on this matter.
Why? Are you secret shareholders in Scotland's biggest club?

Oh dear Scotty that's twice you've used obsessed, are you getting obsessed with the word? Tired and hackneyed are words that spring to mind and invariably it is used in here when the debating skills run dry. Your's are just about to.

A quote from Dave King on March 5th.

“All I have done is, in advance of the change of board, ensured there is another Nomad willing to come in. The club has to appoint them so that process can only happen after the general meeting.

“I’ve got one [lined up] who has done due diligence on the individuals but the key component for any Nomad is the club itself."

Not only did I read the quote but I saw the video (STV Sport). That, if you are bright enough to appreciate the difference, has no bearing whatsoever on the previous Nomad breaking their promise, much as they did. This is him saying word for word he's ENSURED he has LINED UP another one. Enjoy and don't forget to retort with obsessed. :)

Absolutely agree, Colin. Foster especially plumbs new depths of effrontery and chutzpah. His incompetence was staggering at almost every necessary skill required as a player. The man could not pass, cross, nor keep position. When you consider full-back predecessors like Shearer, Johansen, Hutton, and even Papac, he was unfit to wear a Rangers jersey. Had it not been for the moronic "coaching" leadership under McC /McD, the young lad Sinnamon would have been given a chance. Foster should learn humility and self-knowledge and know when to shut up after big money for old rope. King was bang on across the old squad's under-achievers. We must now, however difficult, try to be patient and give W&W decent space and time or what is a complete rebuilding on the park, parallel to the massive corporate challenge.

You've got to laugh at all these has bean ex rangers players coming out once they've got a new club, bumping their gums about what king said, haha and the other has beans without a club yet, hiding, but waiting to they've signed with somebody else, then they'll say their piece as well, haha total joke, they just can come out and say look, we just weren't good enough end of, or even just keep they're mouths shut, and don't say a thing, cause they haven't got a leg to stand on, yeah the club with a joke for the past 3/4 years, but at the end of the day, they still had a job to do for our club, the team they played in, themselves as well, most of all, and didn't to it, or just couldn't do it, not one player is going to come out and say hey, I wasn't strong enough, a wasn't good enough, I didn't have the mentally, to play with Rangers, when that's the truth, Kings right in what he's saying, they let themselves down and most of all the club, they'll not get paid that money anywhere else, good riddens to them all.

I think when you look at the difference when the new manager came in you can't be too critical. Boyd done an unbelieavable service for the club before along with a few others and its pretty bitter that some people forget that. Ok it didn't work out, onwards and upwards though.

Agree6 Disagree7

01 Jul 2015 10:10:16
I think that it was right to not renew any of their contracts and if we are being honest they were so bad, especially for the money they were getting paid they do not deserve any thanks! I do however wish they had been contacted personally and just told that they were not going to be offered new deals, it just seems like the professional thing to do.

Why should Kris Boyd not have his say?

I thought most Rangers fans believed in free speech and if a guy who scored a barrel load of goals in the SPL, more than Larsson or anybody else wants to give an opinion then fine by me.

As for Dave King, was he a failure when he was part of the board with David Murray and then Craig Whyte?

Club sold for a pound, then put into administration and then liquidated.

01 Jul 2015 11:36:36

Agree1 Disagree7

01 Jul 2015 12:11:10
You can't say they didn't have the mentality to play for Rangers etc when several of them were there before liquidation and at least another three were on their second or third period with the club, these 5 or 6 players were as big a culprit as anyone last season.

But Naz is right if based on previous performance as board members of the club should Murray and King be given a second chance? And given that, who the hell is he to judge anyone? Bear in mind this guy saw roughly 2 games all last season and does not for all his millions have Rangers TV at home in South Africa, hard to believe but true. He said what you wanted to hear, as seems to be the populist way of Ibrox these years. Would you welcome Ronni Deila's thoughts on Rangers last season? I know he saw 2 in the flesh and possibly a good deal more on tv.

"We are going to spend millions and last seasons team was bad, oh and even though it is fiscally irresponsible, as another way of pleasing you I'm going to annoy the SPFL by charging a £5 for the play-off games. I haven't did the slightest cost analysis to see if a £5 does the best thing for Rangers but what the hell I'll be in the good books with you and can then plough ahead with my own agenda."

I'm not saying he's wrong in his assessment of the squad but he sure as hell didn't see it first hand and will his assessment of McCoist be as withering come December? Highly unlikely. Like many a Rangers board member of June/July, when season tickets are out coincidentally enough, they say and do exactly what you want them too because it is the only thing that they reckon will get you to part with much needed cash and they need that because I suspect that as far as flat never returned investment goes, you won't be seeing much of theirs.

Welcome to Dave world folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Daddyo, its been known for fans of a certain Club to frequent this site you know. Not much, just now and then.

01 Jul 2015 15:56:04
You are clearly not a regular daddyo as one of the most screamingly obvious and never hidden things on this site is that I'm a Celtic fan so well done Sherlock. So it is free and by his own admission he still hasn't seen them all season, hell that is even worse, thanks for adding to my point daddyo.

In case you missed it the point wasn't whether or not he paid for it, got it free or looked at it on vipbox or FSI, the point was, this diehard Rangers fan did not watch them and was maybe in no fit position to judge them, those eleven players were convenient cannon fodder. And given it was early June and the feelings after the Motherwell games were still raw it was a tap-in in front of an open goal that you would react favourably to that. But when all is said and done were any of them any worse than say Wallace, Zaliukas, Black, Law, Templeton, Miller or Clark? Probably not. Across the board, with perhaps the exception of some kids, they were all pretty desperate. I appreciate it would be bad business criticizing the remaining players but the fact remains taking a pot shot at only those who left without a word of criticism for the real culprits, McCoist etc seemed calculated at best and was no more than a sound byte for you folks ears.
