OK bears the league isn't lost just yet but any more slips and we can forget it, ojo and aribo simply not good enough for rangers, kamara starting to look like a 50k player, Kent off form though I believe he will rediscover form, we have no variety in our play, a target man shouldve been a priority to give us a different dimension when we can't break teams down with football, we need more width and players to start shooting from 35 yards in, our manager was one of the greatest in this regard so its odd we don't seem to do it, and anyone ever comes on here and moans about taverniers faults again rather than concentrate on what he brings to the team, be careful what you wish for! As big Marvin once said keep believing.

Serious question. Can all of the folk on here Who constantly slate Tav be honest and actually state wether we miss him or not? I think it’s crystal clear even tho Polster has done ok Tav is 1 of our main attacking threats. We all know he’s not the worlds best defender. And as for captain material? We have 1 of the greatest club and country captains in world football as our manager and he chose him. I think he’s more qualified for that decision and in his press conference the other day he said it’s great to have Tav back in the dressing room. That speaks volumes.

Lanzarote blue, how can you blame Kamberi, he only got 8 minutes, he is a better player than some who get the jersey every week, give the guy a chance. I blamed SG for this result in another post, and I stand by that, Tavernier, Kamberi and Haji should have been on after 60 minutes, and, I believe we would have won this game.
SG ego is letting him down, yes, we've improved, but we haven't won anything. He needs to change his thinking, I feel we should go 4,3,1,2 formation with Haji sitting just behind Kamberi and Morelos as the link from a midfield 3 of Jack, Davis and Kent.

Frustration getting the better of some of you. Teams like the sheep only turn up against us. A disgrace but true. It's their cup final. Makes it difficult to always get a result. Look at our displays in Europe. Fabulous football with these guys. All is not lost . onwards!

I like most fans like SG and want him to succeed but if he continues to play the same formation and tactics then he has hit a plateau that would indicate he can take us no further so we would need to look elsewhere.
What's people's thoughts., has SG taken us as far as he can?
I would give him until the end of the season to see if he can adapt if that fails then the club must move on.
Yes he has done a good job but when we can't move forward then we reassess.

Gerrard has had years in the wilderness and the excesses of three useless managers to overcome before even starting us on the right road, and now you want him binned just as we are getting there? I said at the time he was appointed that the manager would need the whole of his original four year contract and that still stands. I watched this club when they won just four titles in 22 years. I've seen the best and the worst times at Ibrox and we are now on the verge of the great years once more and because of a blip or two you want to destroy it all and start again? Go and lie down, man.

Agree when he took over we were 25 points behind in the league that year people were saying we would need 100 million to get near Celtic. well we’ve got a lot closer in a short time we’re not quite their but with gerrard in charge we will get there, binning him would be huge mistake.

Covenant - I did say give him until the end of the season, if he can adapt and have a plan B or another system to play that works then absolutely he stays to challenge for the title as he would have shown he can improve the team, but the question I'm asking is can he.
Surely if he can't and we see performances like the last 4 a lot more you can't tell me you would be happy with that.
As I said the club needs to move forward, if a manager at a club that demands trophies can't achieve that then they must look elsewhere.
Again, I'm not anti SG but just starting to consider the options.

I hear what your saying jctheger however Gerard needs to stay. Although, we've become to predictable now with formation and selection and opposing managers have the whole week to counter it.
There's an element in our support who think Gerard is beyond criticism because of who he is but he needs to look at making 3 or 4 changes because at the moment it looks like he doesn't know how to fix it. Time will get it right (I'm sure) but unfortunately, I think they're going to get 9 and 10 before we get this right.

I think SG has had us playing some tremendous football and had a really good run of results, but the team are now under performing and losing their confidence as is clear to see. Once the confidence returns we will be fine as we have the best squad at Ibrox for a good few years.

Jason it's not one bad result, it's been the performance since winter break and moreso the predictability of our tactics and starting 11.
How do we rate managers? By the trophies they win I suppose. For me SG is a good manager but he does need to adapt his tactics, if he can then I'm sure he will leave Rangers with at least one trophy. Failure to do so then in many years to come his team will be remembered as part of the rebuild in catching up to them.

Teams know how we play and the shape we set up so it's not exactly hard for them to stifle us.
Mathematically the league is not gone but pragmatically for me it is. No way this team will win every game until the end of the season. Can only hope that lot get the coronavirus or something or a few draws.

First and foremost i'm a massive fan of ryan kent and always will be. I do however agree Thestigno1 that kenty so far, hasn't been anywhere near his best. He was better when he was on loan last season as opposed to how he's playing for us, since we bought him permanently. Imo the reason for that gerrard is playing him in this inside left role, with a license to roam and try and create thing more centrally. I would move kent back to his wide left position,
especially when the majority of teams who come to ibrox, sit in with everyone behind the ball! He imo would be better there and give us much natural width. He played superb for us there when he was on loan.
There's an old saying, "If it ain't broke, no need to fix it"! Thoughts fellow bears as i'm as scunnered as the next. So deflated with these performances and how gerrard can shake us out of our form slump.

Mrgrumpy I wholly agree with you as regards some of these comments, there is no one in Scotland that could do a better job, goodness sake, we've had a few wobbles of late, and yes, I criticised SG's timing of the sub's today, we should have brought Tav, Haji and Kamberi on after 60 minutes, I honestly believe that would have won us the game.
I think we should try 4 3 1 2 formation on Wednesday with young Haji sitting just behind Morelos and Kamberi, as the provider for the front two linking with a midfield 3 of Jack, Davis and Kent, just a thought guys what do you reckon?

We have no pace about us since the break, this slow passing build up style of play is getting us nowhere against anybody who parks the bus, by the time we get to their box they have everybody back defending. Steven G, how on earth can a professional footballer look tired? That's his job. You and I probably work more hours per week than those professional football players. Now if you and I became tired at work then our employers would show us the door. So tiredness is no excuse for those highly paid stars. I've got to say, and it's no excuse but that refereeing performance was absolutely ridiculous, continuous fouling from Aberdeen, Arfield getting an elbow in the mouth, yet no decision going our way. can't believe Aberdeen got away with so many rash tackles- unbelievable. I agree, my heart sinks when I see Ohno coming on, and again today Kamara is miles off the pace and continually drops us in it with sloppy possession and passes, even when there's no-one near him when he receives the ball!, and it looks like davis is catching that bug as well. We can't seem to be able to break teams down and continue to start games too slowly. With the exception of McGregor the whole team were poor today yet again. The last 5 games since the break have all been poor performances so today was no surprise. Gift wrapped the title. So frustrated and annoyed with the players.

I'm not in the camp that says he needs to go or say he's under pressure, but I do think he gets away with poor decisions with no questions being asked. We are now far too predictable, we needed a goal and Kamberi gets the last 7 mins when Morelos wasn't at the races today (and no, I'm not having a go at Morelos), he's destroyed Docherty's confidence with the way he's been treated. We're in, sorry we were in a title race and we just can't keep playing players hoping their confidence returns. JJ is another one, something has happened behind the scenes for Barker and Ojo to get in ahead of him. For the second year in a row, we've pissed the league away and now they're at 9 (yes, it's 4 points, 7 after tomorrow, but can we guarantee wining our game in hand? ) . Paulellen, spot on, the one point that has been made by a few fans, myself included is the timing of the substitutions, I've followed Gers for over 60 years, and I always felt that Walter Smith sometimes left it late to change things, BUT, he had more quality to work with who could grind out results. We just need to calm down, and also, as someone else mentioned, start shooting more as opposed to over working the ball, you always stand the chance of a deflection.

For goodness sake, why all the negativity about Kamberi, the guy is an international player, and has a lot of positives in how he plays the game, how about welcoming him to the Club, and hope that he turns out to be a terrific player for us. Rememer Super Ally couldn't hit a barn door in his early days, enough proof there to stop being downbeat about this guy.

I know that some people may not agree with me here but, I think that Hibs got the better deal when we swapped Doc for Kamberi. I heard its only a half season loan deal but, i really like Doc and I find it hard to see why he wasn't afforded the opertunity to play some more.
Just my opinion.
On the other hand i'm really looking forward to seeing Ianis Hagi pull on a Rangers top for the first time.
Good with both feet, can score and create goals. Fingers crossed it all just clicks for him at the Gers and we see the best of this young lad.

2 good signings. Dafoe out only impacts us if Fred is out. For me Kamberi is a sensible addition and Haji, well time will tell but let's hope we've got the lock picker we are crying out for at times.
