Not sure about this. It's great news knowing that we can buy a part of the club, but too many chiefs involved might cause problems. What if club 1872 has fifty big shareholders along with mccoist who's got about a million quids worth, then the rest of the unknowns. How can we have a meeting if there's about 500 of us. Anyhoo, three years to raise 13 million quid. Next year I might chip in a couple of grand. A small stake is better than none. I think that works out about ten thousand shares. What rights or say would I have? Would I be invited to meetings, dinners or conferences. Would I make any money from my investment? Lots of questions coming up. Was this the right time to announce it?

The answer rossco3001 is you won’t have any say a for a couple of grand, except when it come to electing a president of the supporters group, I think it’s a very slippery slope, a fans owned club sounds great but in reality it could cause mayhem between fans fellow supporters groups. I think supporters owning the stadium and training facilities in order to protect them things is a great idea but fans can be emotional, irrational and sometimes can’t see the wood for the trees and those things aren’t good for the business side of things.

KJA9 if they can’t raise £13m in 3 years to buy the controlling stake in the club then I’m with you cause how would they raise money for players, wages and general maintenance of the stadium training facilities and so on. The reason we’re getting directors loans is cause nobody else would give us the money. We as a club are definitely turning the corner but there’s a long way to go before we’re self sufficient so now just doesn’t seem like the right time for me.

Read all of the replies. I think this announcement at this time is a bad idea. Yes the fans can own some of what they love, but for the serious investors, say 50k and up, what is the business plan. Would the money have a return or is it just the prestige of having shares? What would happen if someone like Ashley, through an unknown business or partnered enterprise, buys up 5million quids worth? Dave king has had the right idea, but efforts must be in place to safeguard that the right buyers buy. What if Dermot Desmond bought some? Who is controlling the sales of shares to whom we sell? Will they be checked. Big questions. Say I invested a million quid in Celtic. I'd have say on their business dealings for example even though I'm a rangers man. Care must be taken. I'm sure the business men involved are up to date. Not like the ones who caused our downfall. Care and beware.

The first point I would make is, I don't believe that Dave King would do anything that is detrimental to the well being of our Club. If Club 1872 by virtue of this share offer from Mr King become the major force, then, surely they would appoint a Chairman with a sound business brain to run things, our current Chairman fits that bill, I see no need for concern to be honest.

On 9th March 2013 whilst trying to get promoted from the 4th tier of Scottish football, Rangers lost 1 - 2 at home to Annan in front of 34,441 fans. No riots after the game. 2 weeks later we drew 0 - 0 at home to Stirling Albion in front of 44,608 fans. No riots.
4 weeks after that we lost 1 - 2 at home to Peterhead in front of 43,961 fans. Still no riots. 2 weeks after that we managed to beat Berwick 1 nil in front of a World record 4th tier attendance of 50,048 fans.
That is how you support your team properly.

A thing that's been bugging me since before the season started. When the fixture list was announced celtic were down to play us at parkhead 3rd or 4th game in. Lennon said in the paper that because there would be no crowds rangers would have an advantage and would like the game to be played late October as he thought the crowds would be allowed back. Lo and behold the sfa put the game back to October. Someone please tell me how he or celtic got away with that? . Why didn't the sfa say, the list has been made just get on with it. Thank goodness it backfired BTW.

It was the computer efriar that decided the fixture for the old firm tie nothing to do with Lawells influence. The same computer that lost the Dundee vote and it must have been the same computer used to notify hibs that their fixture was getting moved to a monday night. We all know how difficult computers can be at times so nothing to worry about. Just a small technical issue. I'm sure when they update Windows all will be fine. 🙄😂.

Ignore these morons from the dark side. They harp back to 1967 when they won the European Cup when teams only had to play 4 games to reach the final. Nowadays, with much more competition, you are looking at a much tougher competition. I've never begrudged Celtic their 1967 European Cup win but there are so many very good teams nowadays. In the 1960s you only had Benfica, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Real Madrid. That was about it. Now you have the aforementioned plus Juventus, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Ajax, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Seville, Valencia, Borussia Dortmund, Porto, PSG, etc. It's a different world now.

All this readiness by some on here to highlight the meltdown and vitriol being heaped upon Lennon as exemplifying a night and day perspective about how we as Rangers supporters are different in how we conduct our affairs.

This notion of a band of bears who stand together in adversity.? well. we set a world record for attendance at a lower tier league football match (anywhere in the world! ) when we hit rock bottom which was great.

But I remember the vitriol directed by some on here towards Ally Mc Coist during his latter days as manager some even suggesting that he had forfeited his legendary status with the club because of his perceived managerial failings.

Also the level of vitriol being heaped upon Stevie G on this site after our Scottish Cup reverse v Hearts last season. you know who you are. but now all conveniently forgotten.

Yes, I remember when some vented their anger towards Ally and Gerrard on here and other forums/ platforms (I was one of them), but I must have missed the protests outside Ibrox and our players cars being targeted because of the frustrations we were feeling? Oh, and was there ever any instance when our club felt the need to bulk up on security to protect our players fearing further attacks? No, there wasn't!

We were poor domestically the last two years under gerrard, he was reluctant to change it tactically and refused to drop those who should have been. He also tinkered when he shouldn't have. So fans will have an opinion that's what makes us football fans. There's a lot of things on here and posters on here who get on my t**s coldo, don't worry about that. In gerrard's first 2 reasons YES we fell short and we all know when. But we made inroads and improvements each season and have again this season. I stated when he came to give him at least 3 season's before jumping on his back. This i believe is the season and gerrard will win the league as rangers manager and i said as much 🇬🇧.

My issue was having our loyal support lumped into a conversation on the diabolical behaviour of some (not all) Celtic supporters protesting outside parkhead.
If the topic is on the Celtic thugs, please refrain from bringing our support into the discussions and likening what goes on here, to what went on there.
Look, many have made mistakes, or been too loyal, or not shown enough loyalty, when it come to managers, boards, players etc, so can we please stop digging up the past on these matters and keep it relevant and up to date. For goodness sake, you would think we're the ones having a nightmare and about to implode the way we go on sometimes!
We are better than that!

The biggest danger to the continued success of any team is complacency. The classic example is the 1990 Scotland v England rugby grand slam game that England presumed they would win. Celtic are experiencing the perfect storm, complacency, poor signings, poor manager and now faced with a strong Rangers squad playing for each other, the manager and our history.

We are in the perfect position to take advantage of their shortcomings.
Rangers have already built up a healthy lead, playing consistently well, scoring goals, not conceding many and are still undefeated in all competitions and it's now December.

My biggest fear is complacency from ourselves!
Right now Celtic are on their knees and there for the taking, and If we don't take advantage of this, there are no excuses! We are in top form, playing some scintillating football, scoring for fun, not conceding stupid goals, and everything looks great, however, If we take our eye off the ball, allow Celtic's plight to blind us into thinking the league's a given, then we only have ourselves to blame If it all goes t*@s up!
Do I think we'll blow it? Not a chance! But, I'm taking no chances, and I'm sure our manager is drilling this into the players every day.
It's great getting one, or several over the east end mob, and long may it continue. But, could we refrain from using the 55, and especially the mind the gap p@*h, as there's a long way to go.
