As the season kicks off I have to wonder what the future of our game holds. Everybody talks about celtic getting 10 in a row. I know for us that is a major concern. However my fear is much worse than that. Realistically there is nobody that can stop celtic from achieving far more than 10 in a row. Unless there is some kind of catastrophe at celtic the league is theirs to lose ad naseum.

nausea indeed . why are you concerned? that's been Scottish Football for most of the years its been going if it wasn't us it was them. must have been boring for the rest. It means nothing to anyone other than their obsessive fans ,,,, even if we were still in top league maybe it would have been the same after all we were in melt down years back. Now that would have been more of a concern.

abhabh doont worry about them this season we can do nothing about it and beleive they are not a great team u should be doing all we can to support the bread man and his new squad and although the board have been chastised they are doing fine they have only I class outfield player that's virgil van dick and he won't be there much longer the turk was not to bad with dundee I am hoping with warburton templeton mackay walsh clark and even law are brought to their full potential and if we get allan even better the only other clas player celtic have is craig gordon who should have been at ibrox along with allan if it had not been for macoist who would not have signed messi if he had him in for a trial

even in the first 9-in-a-row and ours - there were seasons decided buy just 1 pt and hence 1 game.

We have 5 years to stop in, more than enough with our support - but just need to get rid of the spivs. chasing the quick buck.

I don't think we're really really far away but we are still far away, what I would say is that for the first time in a long time, there is genuine hope of us closing the gap, if Warburton can get this team playing fast, free-flowing football this season there is no reason when and if we get promoted that we can't get in that top four. If we want to be challenging for the title in my opinion in say two or three seasons we need four top quality players that will stand out and can compete with Celtic by consistently performing week in week out. This season is so important for more reasons than one, because if we can go up with a team playing the right away and settled then we've got a basis to work on.

JDG if you put the Warburton team in the premier league today they would not finish in top 6. Remember Motherwell! Players have come and players have gone but no one could say any of the players that have come in are top players. To be fair they have come in for very very little money so nothing has been spent. They will do fine in the Championship but it's a step up again when they move to the Premiership. Rangers will need more than 4 quality players probably closer to 7 quality players so there is about £15 to £20 mill and that is before you pay Ashley back his £5mill. If King gives the money then a challenge is on but don't kid yourself on that Rangers are any where near being close to mounting a challenge. Celtic are not a great side, neither are Aberdeen but they are way ahead of Rangers. Why is there no department set up to scout and identify players? If you want to build a team long term you need to get out and find talent. So why no scouting system? Simple, because no money has been put into the club yet.

johnnymac I don't think that's correct if we play a we did against hibs we would do ok cosidering that was only the first competitive game they had played together and with another couple of players we would more than match most of premiership teams certainly killie john hughes did ok but won't be as good this year same with st johnstone and dundee utd who have not replaced the players celtic took I think hearts motherwell dundee aberdeen will do ok but we would hold our own with the best of them

Bigwull everyone thought the same till the Motherwell game! I don't particularly think Hibs are that strong and they would struggle in the Premiership as well. Players that have come in are going to try and start well and we will see what is happening come Feb next year but the job starts when Rangers go up. Warburton will need some serious funds a minimum of £8mill year 1 and same again following year. If he gets that then it changes the whole thing as long as scouting is put in place now.

5 years of Rangers Hearts and Aberdeen chipping away at Celtic they will never even get to 6 in a row far less 10

Rangers under Warburton coaching with 2 more signings will win the league first year or at very worst second year trying the football style of play they are already showing will become the benchmark change in Scottish game in next few years and Celtic after another humping out of Europe this and next year will likely copy W&W coaching methods within a year

If I am wrong I will be here in a year to apologise and eat humble pie

3-0 today silly to expect 6 weekly though I do feel a 10-0 will happen this season

KT. Sorry but you are being wildly optimistic. We will be lucky to finish in the top 6. Celtic are miles ahead of us both in football and financial terms. We will not be competing for the premiership title for quite some time. To suggest otherwise based on 2 cup matches is very fanciful. Certainly things look better than they have for the past 2 years but why do you have such faith in W&W? What have they done to deserve such high praise?

Dave King playing to the gallery again knowing the same Rangers fans that backed Craig Whyte against the BBC will think this is wonderful news.

Am far from the biggest fan of Britney but at least he spoke out against the spending the led to our current troubles, one of the few journalists that pointed this out at the time. Unlike Jim Traynor.

Personally I would like to see Traynor and his PR company gone from Ibrox rather than any journo.

I've always trusted what Chris Mcgloughlin has said or had printed. Spears is another matter but calls himself a Rangers man so I am concerned with the ban.
Have they both exposed something we should worry about?
At this time we need to have friends in the press core not enemies.
