Sounds like rubbish to me "Kean wanted to speak to him but couldn't as they were travelling back from Hong Kong". If you were Kean and you wanted him would you let him come back up the road with all Rangers' much-trumpeted interest? And what exactly do we imagine he has to chat about? I live in the Toon, I'm a soldier in HMF. People here are gutted to see him go reminds me of Rickson except better

If we take the hit on his wages sign him for 2 or 3 years contract then we could sell him after 12 months and make some moneyback from his wages. At worst we would make back in wages what we sell him for This is just one way to look at it. Alternatively he will give us the attacking midfielder role that alot seem to think we are missing.

I should also say to those who think he is a loose cannon, that after the bbirth of his little one he has sorted himself out.

Just watched a video on you tube of Wesley Verhoek and I must admit that he should be our number one priority because he not only scores goals but creates aswell. I would say the minus the trickery that Laudrup used to provide Verhoek has similar qualities. Would u agree ed? {Ed001's Note - I have not seen anything to suggest he is in Laudrup's league as a player.}

Many of you don't want Goodwillie for similar reasons. I don't know what he was on at Newcastle but I doubt we could come close

everyone saying whyte dosent have cash , we have got Wallace 1.5 , Goian 1.5 , Ortiz 500k , bid 1.8million for goodwillie , bid 1million for verhoek , 2.5million for juhaz , 2million for cuellar and 350k for davidson , they may have been rejected / accepted but that adds up to around 10million pound , dosent look to me like he's skint ?

I could bid £20 million for Messi knowing Barca wouldnt even consider it and that would never need to get a bankers draft to prove that I had the money but a could still say I tried with a straight face

I want to know what happened to the £18 million war chest? So far we have a net spend of around £1.5 mil and with boughie going we will be in profit. That means that Whyte will need to spend around £20 mil for him to make good on his promise. Looks like the old board were right all along.

We have spent £2.8m so far. Ed does the £18m we have to spend include £3m upgrade of ibrox? They are 30 days left of the transfer window so give it a rest about signing no one. In Ally We Trust {Ed019's Note - i think the investment in the stadium was seperate. although the 15 mil quoted for investment in the squad was for wages aswell. that 18 million figure sounds as if the stadium refurbishment was inclusive as 15 mil was the ammount for the squad.

He has not only spent 1.5M so far. If you take into account the 5 year deals offered to McGregor, Whittaker and Davis on wages of over 20K a week each then that is quite a lot spent just on that.

Everyone is going on about Rangers low bids and not getting deals done. However look at this way we bid 300k for wallace but eventually bid 1.5 mil because mccoist really wanted him(5x the initial bid). Ok might have been good to get miller, Goodwillie or whoever in but its not rangers being tight. I like the rest of you want more players in but I'd rather more defenders and atleast one or two of the left sided players we have been linked with so Davis can play central with Ness or A new arrival and not have edu in the team. If lafferty when he comes back plays the way he ended the season he'll be jela partner even if we had signed Goodwillie and the way he's started would Naismith really deserved to be dropped.

Naismith would play on the right, with davis and ness in the middle and perhaps verhoek on the left....jela and lafferty up top, edu amd jig would be dropped
