Mr whyte nows your time to show us your money? If blackburn have a 2.8m bid acceptd why do we not match that If we get a bid acceptd then the player can talk to us and am sure it wouldn't take him long to sign that contract and give the fans a big boost On sat papac playd left mid, and that headless chicken edu out on the right that must surely show we need players so nows your time mr whyte to show the fans you love the club as much as the best fans in the world do? Sounds like rubbish to me "Kean wanted to speak to him but couldn't as they were travelling back from Hong Kong". If you were Kean and you wanted him would you let him come back up the road with all Rangers' much-trumpeted interest? And what exactly do we imagine he has to chat about? Could he no just have had the medical anyway to move things along a bit further too. Think it's pretty plain, reading between the lines he wants to talk to, and probably sign for, Rangers.

Randolph True Blue

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Have to agree mate why fly up here to fly back down again?. surely blackburn would or should have stuck him in a fancy hotell for one night?. maby he is home to get belongings and sort things out at home?? who knows. all i know is whyte should have just paid the 2 million 3 weeks ago.

just a thought lads, if we get put out by malmo do you think we should go for jim jeffries, cracking manager, he could give ally a hand or sack ally and give jj the job, anybody think this could be a good move for the rangers?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Need to give Coisty time, he will come good against malmo this week and I am starting to think we will get Goodwillie, cpl of loans and sign odonkor and we will be ok, think we will get the boy from anderlect and Mayb verhok, we would be real strong then

rangers want to pay for goodwillie in installments, if that is the case i think the fans should ask serious questions about mr whytes finances, if whyte thinks he can pacify the fans with the new contracts handed out to the top players then bid buttons for others he is taking the fans for granted, we know he got these guys on long term contracts hes paying 30 grand a week extra to keep these guys at rangers, its hardly staggering amounts of cash for our most sellable assets, i think its unbelievable how quiet whyte has been since buying rangers, and as for ellis who owns something like 20% of the club, has anyone actually seen or heard from this guy?what is his role at ibrox?why has he not put cash into the club?for a guy who was trying to buy the club i find this astonishing. {Ed001's Note - he can't pay in any more instalments than Blackburn are (because they are also intent on paying for him over a period of time), UEFA's FFP ruling also stipulates the length of time allowable for a transfer fee to be paid in full. It is no longer possible for a team to agree to pay a few quid a week for the next 20 years.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Every team pays in installments dumplin

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, I think whyte needs to address the fans soon, we need to know what this character Ellis is all about, if he is there to make money with land around ibrox so be it, we just need to know the score

I can't believe it... not only should we boycott United games for the way they've treated us during the Goodwillie saga (imagine not accepting numerous offers below an already accepted offer? the b******s). But now we have to boycott the Jambo's too as they kept Jeffries in charge just long enough to stand them a better chance of beating us and thus guarantee Celtic the league. It's all a conspiracy I tell you

Believable0 Unbelievable1

What a complete bunnit, offt just stop {Ed047's Note - I'm sure the guys tongue was stuck firmly in his cheek when he posted that. I wouldn't have allowed it otherwise because I'm sick of the conspiracy and boycott nonsense

I live in the Toon, I'm a soldier in HMF. People here are gutted to see him go reminds me of Rickson except better

If we take the hit on his wages sign him for 2 or 3 years contract then we could sell him after 12 months and make some moneyback from his wages. At worst we would make back in wages what we sell him for This is just one way to look at it. Alternatively he will give us the attacking midfielder role that alot seem to think we are missing.

I should also say to those who think he is a loose cannon, that after the bbirth of his little one he has sorted himself out.

Now i hope that puts to bed all the talk on here about the Celtic fans claiming we cant sign Goodwillie but Bellamy wants to sign for them .. well infact Goodwillie wants to sign for us .. Bellamy DOESNT want to sign for Celtic

Cmon Rangers, Get Goodwillie

xx

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Bellamy has said he is staying at Man City, theres a difference between that and getting blew out the water time after time, if Rangers sign Goodwillie surely Whyte will need to go and sit on Thompsons mantlepeice becuse he will have been owned by Dundee utd. Source STV:
Rangers failed with a fifth bid for the 22-year-old on Monday, which is believed to have fallen short of the amount agreed upon between United and Blackburn.

It is also understood that Rangers are keen to pay any transfer fee for Goodwillie over the duration of any possible contract with the club, while Dundee United are eager for all monies to be paid up front.

best of luck to Goodwillie in Blackburn you are going to need it mate, so much for being a Rangers supporter. Its only a matter of time before the bottom falls out the transfer market in Englandwith the new rules coming in that clubs need to stay within their means Boyd etc found out where their bread was buttered after they left Rangers and i wouldn't take them back, whats the point of going to a bottom half team in the English premier league when you could play in the EC with the Famous glasgow rangers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

'so much for being a Rangers supporter'

Ridiculous thing to say He doesn't have permission to speak to Rangers, and he's getting offered big money to move to the best league in the world? Mince talk fi you. Don't get me wrong, if he rejected Rangers for Rovers then I'd question his passion as a supporter, but he doesn't have the chance to come here if Rangers don't pay up. Give the guy a break. Are people on this that stupid (He price for goodwillie isn't 2m as blackburn have offered a package of around 2.8m.. Rangers don't know the exact package so r putting in a package they feel is fair.. Just because united wanted 2m doesn't mean 2m is acceptable anymore.. The guy that was talking bout man city putting in 40m, yes if dundee were offered 40m then other teams would have 2 offer the same obviously He's not worth 2.8 so let's move on

Good Morning Ed047, just heading back to work today but before I do want to say something, Randolph True Blue, Miko and myself come on here for a bit of light hearted banter we are neither offensive or rude, sadly some of the name calling we get back leaves a lot to be desired but each to their own, at least you leave a name so I can engage with you man to man or tim to ger if you prefer, we actually have a lot in common both of us think Whyte has let down the Rangers fans. Obviously we are on having a laugh about it as we are Celtic fans but hey if I tell a joke against your lot, give me a joke back etc.. but lets keep it civil and humourus and have some FRIENDLY banter. LOL Timalloy {Ed047's Note - In the current climate I enjoy the banter between you guys and I know the Celtic Ed feels the same. We Eds give each other pelters too. Keep them coming Bears & Bhoys

ok lets summarise this farce of a transfer window- so far - have i missed anyone out -

Hemed - R Mallorca
Danns- Leicester
Conway - Cardiff
Jedinak - C Palace
Miller - Cardiff
Goodwillie - Blackburn
Verhoek - ?
Juhasz - ?
Cuellar - ?

in -

Ortiz - £500k
Goian - £500k
Wallace - £1.5m

Total £3m

Bougherra soon to be out the door £3m
Adam money £850k

Total £3.85m

So apart from the new deals for Healy, Papac, Davis, McGregor, Weir ? ..& Whitts...we've spent nothing of this so called warchest...simply not good enough Rangers were two weeks into the season...and on the verge of going out the CL......shocking

It doesnt matter if goodwillie refuses the personal terms with other clubs..dundee united dont have to sell him all they have to do is take goodwillie of the table cus hes on a three year contract with them so unless we stump up the cash so we can get the chance to talk to him we've got no chance

Also. . . . . . Brunt is supposed to be coming? Mate was in Shankhill (was over doing family tree stuff) and met some school chum of Chris and lad says its all QT but talks are on the way

A touch of double standards here guys. First we're talking about giving the guys we've got a chance (Ness, Wylde etc.) then moaning about not paying £2 million for Goodwillie as we 'need' a new striker. We've got 6 strikers on the books at the moment Give them a chance Defence and left mid are the areas we need stregntening. Why not use our funds to stregnthen those areas, and in the unlikely event that we can't get goals from Jelavic, Naismith, Lafferty, Healy, Beattie AND Hemmings, then we'll look for a striker.

have a wee concern for Wednesday, Bougherra obviously knows he is off to big money, particularily during Hearts game he pulled out of a few 50/50 tackles, something he never done, just feel the big bucks is in his mind.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I don't think it's ideal to be starting with boughie but we don't have any choice the pace of malmo will really stretch us as we have to score so we need his pace at the back we can only hope he wants to go out on a high and he's professional enough to do his best which I'm sure he will be it's good buisness to let him go and I wish him all the best Steph

this was on ssn transfer update at 12.01 but there must be a fault as it reloadsd and story disapears

says that Juhasz has put pressure on Anderlecht to saction hius move to rangers. Also states about Bougherra on a seperate story, could have a Gioan and Juhasz central def soon.

Would aimagine it will all come in to affect after wed {Ed019's Note - yip, juhasz has asked anderlecht to accpet bid, he thinks personally hes only worth between 2-3 mil. bougherra transfer is imminent. would like to see a cuellar/juhasz partnership at the back

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Personally i want to see Goian over Juhasz at CB (and obviously Cuellar as the other). I've only seen a video or two of the later but Goian on saturday looked assured and powerful - exactly what we need in the SPL.

Any chance we could actually sign big Bartley outright for say £1m or something, rather than paying a quarter of that to get him for a year? That way we would benefit from his development. We could always sell him back to Arsenal in a few years if they want him back for say 6 or 7m? That way we could extort some cash oot them just like they're trying to do with Barca on wee Cesc Fibreglass?

Randolph True Blue

I want to know what happened to the £18 million war chest? So far we have a net spend of around £1.5 mil and with boughie going we will be in profit. That means that Whyte will need to spend around £20 mil for him to make good on his promise. Looks like the old board were right all along.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

We have spent £2.8m so far. Ed does the £18m we have to spend include £3m upgrade of ibrox? They are 30 days left of the transfer window so give it a rest about signing no one. In Ally We Trust {Ed019's Note - i think the investment in the stadium was seperate. although the 15 mil quoted for investment in the squad was for wages aswell. that 18 million figure sounds as if the stadium refurbishment was inclusive as 15 mil was the ammount for the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has not only spent 1.5M so far. If you take into account the 5 year deals offered to McGregor, Whittaker and Davis on wages of over 20K a week each then that is quite a lot spent just on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you show me a quote where whyte says I will give McCoist £18million? He never quoted £18million anywhere. How about you just get behind the team and show a bit of faith. We will get the players in.

Billyboy1

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte gave interview to Traynor in Daily Record he PROMISED £15m IMMEDIATELY, this interview was sanctioned by Ibrox board so either whyte is misleading fans or worse blatantly lying every thing whyte does is in the papers he should just shut up and get on with things

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely the wage and transfer budgets are seperate?

we have spent 2m net so far, 2.8m but we got 800k from Adams liverpool move. Whyte needs to get the finger out - he is a joker

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the las post. He did say he was handing over money. Its not just about the money, but the way we have handled things. Maybe if we had bid for Goodwillie last week we would have got him. In future they need to keep quiet until they actually sign someone. Also, we DO have a net spend of £1.5 mil. Ortiz - £300k, Goian £700k Walalce £1.2 up front = £2.2. 700k in from Adam deal. If Boughie goes he will be in profit from the dealings so far. Also, you cant count wages as part of a transfer budget. Firstly, all these players were already on decent wages so the only extra outlay was the increase they received. ALso, these players could all be sold at anytime, so its not cast in stone that we will have to pay them five years worth of wages. Follow follow guys, but not with your eyes shut. {Ed019's Note - the 15 million was never a transfer budget, it was a squad budget in which wages were inclusive. there are signing on fee's with contracts also, which im sure would have been substantial ammounts. the transfer window has over a month til it closes and we are being linked with several players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whtye has spend £16m on the contacts of mcgregor, whittaker, davis who are all on £20k plus for 5years.... there's your warchest. People think that a budget is purely for the transfer fee but the biggest outlay is the salaries. These things are not separate and therefore these idiots who say "we've only spent £3m or whatever" are totally and utterly wrong. What does worry me thought is this..... Is whtye tying the best players up in the knowledge that clubs will have to pay top whack for them when the tax bill lands?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again another idiotic post firstly they were not given £20k each extra a week, secondly I am pritty sure they were not paid 5years salary in advance, and do you think that a business man that set a wage structure of reportedly max £26k a week would have not have budgeted for running costs BEHAVE

Agree0 Disagree0

You are the idiot pal. What have wages five years from now got to do with this years budget? I am no accountant, but even I know that no business bases its current years spending on their staff wages five years in the future. You are a mug if you believe that.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2011 10:37:09
I think rangers are lacking a creative midfielder to play with Steve Davis. Eremenko I thought fitted the bill well last season and may have been a great signing for us for a fee believed to be 500k. Goodwillie has gone, lets look forward, would love to see us go out and actually make a decent offer for a player instead of trying to get every player on the cheap as it is becoming embarassing now. WATP

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Eremenko is on 20k a week in wages i imagine he would want roughlyat least that again and i dont see gers paying over the top wages for a decent but not great player (besides the guy was far too overwieght come the end of last season)

Agree0 Disagree0

Eremenko not on Rangers radar, too slow, and not a team player.(rangers coaching staff member)

Everyone is going on about Rangers low bids and not getting deals done. However look at this way we bid 300k for wallace but eventually bid 1.5 mil because mccoist really wanted him(5x the initial bid). Ok might have been good to get miller, Goodwillie or whoever in but its not rangers being tight. I like the rest of you want more players in but I'd rather more defenders and atleast one or two of the left sided players we have been linked with so Davis can play central with Ness or A new arrival and not have edu in the team. If lafferty when he comes back plays the way he ended the season he'll be jela partner even if we had signed Goodwillie and the way he's started would Naismith really deserved to be dropped.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Naismith would play on the right, with davis and ness in the middle and perhaps verhoek on the left....jela and lafferty up top, edu amd jig would be dropped

I don't think we are putting enough into our youth team development. We did not have a team in the Milk Cup again this year, which is regarded as the best platform for young kids. It is where stars of the future make a name for themselves, Beckham and Joe Cole are just a few of the players to play in it. We don't yet have the platform for the young kids to get in to the first team. We should be loaning the young guys out to smaller teams to give them game time. If we are not going to play the likes of Ness or Hutton, give them to St Mirren or someone and get them the exp they need.

Alejandro Bedoya is the attacking midfielder that should be signed now, we need somebody who can score goals from midfield and run at players with pace and take them on. Him and Davis in central midfield are a dream. He's scored 4 league goals this season in 11 appearences. That for a young attacking midfielder is great.

Ed, do you know the reason why rangers aren't playing Greg Wylde? Is he injured? Because I thought he was outstanding for a player of his age {Ed047's Note - The manager can only pick 11. He'll get his chance

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I've heard a rumour that Wylde is holding out for the same wages as Ness & Hutton and that is why he has knocked back 2 wages deals. This is the reason why he is not being played as we are playing hard ball with him to get him to sign an contract extension. Once the contract is sorted he will be back in the team.

Alot of doom and gloom about losing out here and there on players... Im pretty shocked and stunned at our fans attitude. Yes we are the people, but we aint f***ing loaded
I have a feeling as soon as the english teams produce there squads we will get a few loans. Id like too see bartley back and love to see quality like SWP from city or even orbertan from man u.
Give wee wylde his meesly 4g a week he is a player and could be the player the gers need instead of spending millions on some two bit foriegner.

Most folk in THE WORLD will never make that in a week.

The truth of the matter is THEY ONLY PLAY A GAME OF FOOTBALL

Wish I had the time to play but I have to work for my money so some khunt that won't play for the mighty Gers because 20 grand a week is not enough can go fhuk himself.

Ally will not hire mercenaries, just good honest journeymen pro's.
