Get vaulks signed!

20 May 2016 07:44:05
He would be a priority for me to be honest. The guy is physically a machine and is very versatile, honestly think he could play any position across the midfield and defence. Type of player that makes a squad.

20 May 2016 09:37:40
He's a player I like myself but they don't half get the rub of the green, Falkirk do they? All the wee nicks and deflections round about the box just seem to fall for them. Well done though, fancy them to go up now.

20 May 2016 11:06:29
Daft thing is we could probably get him cheap I've watched him for a while now and looks a player, knowing a few fans of falkirk they love the guy aswell, i do agree they do though they do get lucky but never give up either, fair play to them although i think killie will beat them at home.

19 May 2016 20:44:30
Steven Whittaker any body else think he would come back?

19 May 2016 22:21:07
Are you mad. Out of all the ones that left he's the 1 I wouldn't have back. The interview him and naismith give was a disgrace.

19 May 2016 22:46:06
Loyal bill why would we want him back?

19 May 2016 23:14:06
I'm still bitter the way he left us. so I'd rather he didn't.

19 May 2016 23:35:46
Why would we want him back? Walked out on the club when we needed him and the others the most. Not welcome back even as a guest!

20 May 2016 00:01:50
Whittaker is a poor defender, he was one of the first out the door when we had our problems and under no circumstances would I want to see this guy anywhere near Rangers.

20 May 2016 08:49:13
Hooly78

Spot on mate that interview was a disgrace and neither him or the other one involved in the interview should be allowed anywhere near the club.

20 May 2016 08:55:49
No thanks didn't rate him when he was at Rangers not for me, said it before Steve Davis is the only one I'd have back!

20 May 2016 10:35:12
Whittaker is a disgrace as is naysmith, greeeeeeedy Ba.

20 May 2016 07:10:49
I'm trying to look forward with rangers now and don't want to be bitter about the past but when it comes to the likes of Whittaker Naismith mcgregor and the likes I have no nothing but bitterness for these people. So called rangers men who jumped ship at the first opportunity. They have all made their beds and they can lie in them. No doubt they'll be trying for tickets for the next old firm game etc, don't even want to see them in the stands supporting. Sign reads Not Welcome.

20 May 2016 08:34:06
Wouldn't want whittaker anywhere near our great football club, just like lafferty, naismith and co they made their bed and sure as hell can lie in it, we simply don't need their sort at rangers, forget all about them and a big good riddance to them!

20 May 2016 11:19:54
Biffo yip your on the money with above post, him and naismith are the 2 i dispise most for leaving, due to the interview they done together, scumbags is what i call them on here, mqy true opinon on both would not get printed on any site.

20 May 2016 11:25:38
His petulance in Sweden was the beginning of the on field rot and the manner of his exit speaks volumes.

Don't want him or Naismith even though Davie Weir poached Naismith he could have gone with dignity.

20 May 2016 11:37:25
Greegs, every day of the week, Whittaker cost us a European tie, by trying to dribble out of the box, but McGregor is a great keeper

19 May 2016 20:21:31
Brenda Rogers . the flop from the kop.

19 May 2016 21:29:19
Is that the same brenda rodgers that had the loaf man working under him at Watford he was doing what brenda was telling him then and he will be doing the same when brenda comes up.

20 May 2016 10:21:28
Hahaha comedy gold madneeps your brain must be like a tattie. Maybe your next manager will actually be aloud to pick the team.

20 May 2016 10:26:41
Rogers is too nice a guy to stay at Celtic for long once he witnessed first hand the bile and bigotry from the 'Green Brigade'

20 May 2016 19:52:27
Tom42 i don't see him being there long anyway mate, i think its 4 jobs in a row he hasbeen sacked from?

19 May 2016 17:53:57
Hutton is good going forward but his defending is gash.

19 May 2016 19:27:38
Remind you of any1 mate?

19 May 2016 23:21:24
Bit harsh on Tav considering he gives 100% every game and scores a few goals.

20 May 2016 10:22:25
Bit harsh on hutton to say his defending is gash when he is an international tight back who has played at the highest level and our own right back can't defend.

19 May 2016 17:25:34
Rodgers took Liverpool to 2nd in the EPL. Do you think he is good enough to take Celtic to 2nd in the SPL?

19 May 2016 18:30:11
Swanseablue, brill mate, me personally i think aberdeen or hearts have a good chance of finishing second, lol.

19 May 2016 18:53:19
Swanseablu i was having a look throught the other sites, seems sports direct are selling all there rangers gear under the (must go sign) do you think this will be a genuine clear out of old stock or everthing must go , end of.

19 May 2016 20:38:18
Hope Rodgers get the nod he wasted £292m on 31 players who were mainly 💩
Any team with Suarez would do well in any league. Once he left the Pool were struggling to make the top half with team he bought.
The Fans at Liverpool hated him with a passion for his sideway passing style, terrible coaching defencively his arrogance and ability to fall out with everyone from his assistant to the Tea Lady.
Getting a billy big time will put extra pressure on him and will offer him more leeway when they struggle, if he ever gets it together it will be too late.
Can't wait to get our trophy back 🏆.

19 May 2016 21:05:05
Be interesting to see how many people that won't buy anything from sd will change their mind when it's reduced.

19 May 2016 22:59:53
@bigjoh85

"me personally i think aberdeen or hearts have a good chance of finishing second".

Spot on mate, you boys will be lucky to get fourth but at least you are realistic about it, not like some of yer bear pals on here talking about challenging the 5 in a row champions.

19 May 2016 22:25:18
Albertz people should avoid buying rangers gear from sports direct imho, let the greedy owner get rid of by any means he sees fat, oops fit, I've not bought anything from his tat shop ever, nor will i ever, poor workers, greedy man, hated man.

20 May 2016 00:35:44
Weetam you obviously don't know sarcasm when it hits right in the face, as ime more than sure most people know i was meaning celtic will be lucky to finnish in the top 3 league possitions, imho.

20 May 2016 06:03:06
Bigjoh I'm right behind you with that. A co worker of mine has already bought stuff from sd and drinks out a giant sd cup and calls himself a diehard, eh don't think so pal.

20 May 2016 10:43:26
Albertz i take it your co worker doesn't drink hot tea/ coffee out of the sd cup, cause if he does you should tell him to stop doing so immedietly, or he could get scolded when the cup departs from the handle, its all tat that gets sold from those shops/ /.

19 May 2016 15:30:30
Just watched a highlight video of Matt Crooks, now before you all start I know youtube can make anyone look good but the point I wanted to make was that he seems to play predominantly in defence in his early career at hudersfield he is also a unit, would like to see him slot in at CB when he arrives.

19 May 2016 16:42:47
He's 6'5, strong, tough tackler, decent on the ball. exactly the kind of defender we want for our playing style.

I don't know about now, but earlier in his career he was prone to mistakes, hopefully he's grown out of that.

19 May 2016 16:52:30
I also checked him out on You tube and he does look impressive and agree he looks good at CB but can easily play DM. He definitely has great touch for big guy.

19 May 2016 19:37:50
I think Crooks has all the potential to be a hero for the Gers. For a tall lad he is terrific on the deck with the ball at his feet.

19 May 2016 14:18:28
John Hughes to leave ICT in next 24 hours, next celtic boss? haha.

19 May 2016 19:54:51
Heard part of the so called contract with SD is that if we don't hit certain targets regarding strip sales we have to pay the fat cat Ashley's SD so much in compensation is this true?

19 May 2016 21:39:38
Brian p i think that's how the deal was set up. if the support don't buy a certain amount the club must buy them.

19 May 2016 14:11:22
just wondering if the club can alter the crest slightly and use a plain blue strip for the cup final?
if the club does not wish to use the new/ next seasons strips?

would this be against any cup or SFA rules?

19 May 2016 14:26:08
You misunderstood the problem. Rangers CAN USE the crest. It's Sports Direct who can't. !

19 May 2016 14:34:54
The guys in the know will know how to proceed with this dispute. Leave it to them.

Im sure we reserve the rights to the badge and all that anyways so i don't see how we would have to change it. There was only a holding over it when we had a loan and that's been paid back.

19 May 2016 15:16:44
Theblueman the team will be wearing the same strip, the one we have worn all season.

19 May 2016 15:26:38
did think it was us but it was the rules regarding the deal in place with handing in the notice period.
do we have to wear that specific strip as its part of that deal?

and didn't mean change it just adapt it slightly by maybe adding the ready scrill underneath? (just a thought)

19 May 2016 14:57:57
Doesn't mean the mere mortals can't discuss it, Super.

20 May 2016 10:37:39
If it is correct that rangers must buy the strip quota from Sports Direct if the fans don't purchase them then I have two questions. The first is 'Is this an unfair business practice that could cause that part of the deal to be rescinded'

Second question is, 'Is there a 'minimum price' that the Club has to pay to ensure a designated level of profit on the sale of the strips'. If so could Rangers still benefit in purchasing the strips from Ashley at this perhaps 'lower price' and then resell them to make the lion's share of the profit.

19 May 2016 13:48:36
Just a querie. Jordan Rossiter has now signed. The Scottish league has finished and the cup is run out with the SPFL rules and is run by the SFA . Are we allowed to put the lad on the bench . Just asking as l don't know the rules on it.
Logical feedback bears.

{Ed001's Note - his registration does not transfer until July 1st.}

19 May 2016 15:05:58
Cheers Ed.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate.}

19 May 2016 12:29:25
Well done Dave king, stick it to the fat man I can't wait to buy my first top in years . I think when we beat the dirt that has a hold on us we will break new records on top sales and season tickets . mike Ashley must be insane to not give us a better deal and have a share in a lot of money hopefully now he will get jack not a good business decision by him.

19 May 2016 17:43:23
Damo66 i agree mate, but don't go buying a strip until the baord announce a new sponser or you will just be giving ashley more money.

19 May 2016 11:34:18
Would love to see "the beast" Akinfenwa pull on a Rangers jersey (xxxl one! ) . He would terify the spl defences!

19 May 2016 16:58:32
He looked more like a washed out heavy weight nicer than a footballer but fair play to him scored a great goal and was a constant menace.

19 May 2016 11:08:39
Waghorns on fire 🔥 🔥 your defence is terrified na na na na

Let's get hampden rocking on Saturday.

19 May 2016 11:29:25
You hoping for a free ticket? Not sure it works that way for copying though 😉.

19 May 2016 11:37:56
I have got a ticket already mate and I am season ticket holder.

19 May 2016 11:54:17
I have already renewed my season ticket and I have got a ticket for the cup final so the song is quality.

19 May 2016 12:26:49
Football fans taking other teams songs and adopting it as there own does that happen?

19 May 2016 14:41:53
Copied or not would get the place rocking if it caught on fine shout southsideger.

19 May 2016 15:57:57
If you don't get the joke -- and let's not kid ourselves, that's what it was -- then it's okay not to respond.

19 May 2016 11:01:59
I have been thinking again lads. (Might sound intelligent if I say enough! )
With what looks like the imminent appointment of Brenda across the city, is that a nod of acceptance to how good our Magic Hat is?
Celtic will say it's to take them to the next level, but wasn't Delia meant to have been the man for that?

Celtic have sat back and have done nothing for the past four years, simply because the haven't had to. After their skelping in the cup, I reckon they've realised that Rangers are back and back with a bang. They have a magnificent manager therefore we need to try and match that somehow.

So to appoint someone like Brenda, whose stock will be fairly high, can only be in recognition and in reaction to the simple fact they have some competition again.
So thank you celtic for giving us plaudits.
Once again, it's all about The Rangers!

19 May 2016 13:00:22
Brenda!, brilliant mate lmfao

he will be a flop as well.

19 May 2016 11:31:43
You asked a question, answered it yourself and then further commented as if the original set up (and answer) wasn't your own. Interesting approach.

19 May 2016 11:49:58
I'll be very honest I don't see the attraction to Rodgers. he'll cost quite a bundle, and if (when) he is out done by the magic hat it will be a horrific failure for Celtic. Yes he has experience in one of the top leagues in Europe, this can not be denied. I just don't think the guy is cut out for the football life in Glasgow. However it would benefit Scottish football if he were to come. I still reckon it's all paper talk and they will end up with Malky Mckay or Paul Lambert.

19 May 2016 14:18:11
Why thank you PP, creative writing don't you know.
Any sign of any 'failed' city traders you might utilise?
Or am I being obtuse?

19 May 2016 16:06:14
You walked into an empty room, started talking about Rangers - and then left, thinking/ declaring "once again, it's all about The Rangers! ".

That's not creative writing, it's the ramblings of a madman.

You keep throwing this failed city trader thing in. Why? As discussed before with BB, if you aren't going to

A. comment on something at the time of issue,

Or

B. Come out and say what you are trying to say,

Then you are just pissing in the wind. Bringing it up later (cold no less) and trying to be funny/ smart (who knows which) doesn't actually work. As for you being obtuse, it reminds me of the immortal words of Inigo Montoya:

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. "

19 May 2016 15:31:57
For anybody wondering what Brendan Rodgers is like download the documentary he made of himself when he got the Liverpool job. It's like David Brent from the Office, only he's being serious. Has a massive painting of himself on his living room wall, guys a complete person.
I think he will be a huge, costly failure to be honest. Unless he signs Suarez, then he might run us close.

19 May 2016 17:54:17
Recbob-

Whilst I know you aren't normally bound by fact, a few things:

One. He didn't make a documentary of himself.

Two. I have zero clue as to whether or not he is a person, but you should do some research into why that painting hangs there if you are going to hold it up as some sort of evidence. It wasn't a commission.

19 May 2016 18:07:25
Oh I know what it means alright PP, do you I wonder?
The failed city trader was in reference to something YOU said on your page regarding our manager. Do you see the connection now or are you being obtuse?
Ramblings of a madman maybe but I'm only trying to throw a few hypotheses out there for a bit of fun or should I say banter, as this is what this page is called after all.
Now we may not be all as smart as you PP but we're only here for a bit of craic. No need to get all serious on us and I'm sorry if I can't repartee to your degree. I'll leave the funny/ smart to you as you ARE the man when it comes to that.
Though I guess I am smart enough to:

A. Take it all in good jest and not pull people up for a bit of banter.

B. Support the right team.

Anyway, PP let's not fall out over a wee bit of banter.

RSVP.

19 May 2016 18:31:38
Circles. Circles. Everywhere.

19 May 2016 19:31:22
Poetic don't take it to heart, any man who has a painting of himself on his living room wall, in any capacity, is a person. Take my word for it. Who cares who commissioned the bloody documentary anyway, my point is he is as cringy as David Brent, should fit in well at Parkhead.

It's not our fault every manager you's are in for has been sacked from their last job. That would do my nut in as well, can't think of it ever happening to us right enough. We usually go for winners, as opposed to losers.

Saying that you's might get Coyle, he's in a job. Pity it's over in America, after no one bar you's would touch him. Did he not reject you's last time as well? And Keane for that matter. Oh well somebody will take it eventually.
I personally think you should go for Levein, get him to adapt some 0-10-0 formation, that way you's can utilise all your midfielders, on a rotation. After a few weeks they'll all have had a game.

19 May 2016 22:29:28
Exactly, "who cares" about facts. Which was my point about you in the first place. You talk mince.

And what exactly is your point? Most Managers of that level would have been sacked, otherwise they wouldn't be available would they? Come on, you should know that seeing as your very own Manager was sacked by Brentford. Sorry, his contract wasn't renewed, cough cough.

Although I see he has now come out to say how good it'd be for BR to manage Celtic. I guess that's cos' he's used to working beneath him.

19 May 2016 19:07:39
Racing drivers don't usually make memorable quotes, that's an obscure one. Well done TPP.

19 May 2016 19:57:44
And not a drop to drink.

20 May 2016 13:09:24
MW decided he wouldn't work under the owners conditions, even someone like you would know you don't get sacked from a tiny wee club hidden in the great metropolis, and then get the manager job at one of the biggest clubs in Europe?

19 May 2016 10:08:50
Interesting to look at Brendan Rodgers' managerial career now that he is favourite to land the Celtic job. In his seven years in management his wiin ration was only 43% and all he won was the Championship play-off final in 2011. I'm just interested in comparing him to Warburton if they are going to be head-to-head next season. Though Liverpool came close in the Premier League race a couple of years ago, it was almost entirely down to Suarez that they were in with a chance. I'm not worried about who becomes Celtic manager just interested to see how they'll match up to Warbs. Thoughts anyone?

19 May 2016 11:22:14
I think Rodgers is a very good manager and it would be a bold move by Celtic to get him, depending on who we sign it could be a cracking premier league next year, as I think if we get the players we want then it could be a cracker next year as Celtic will strengthen, plus a decent manager will get the best out of them across the city, can't wait lol.

{Ed001's Note - what makes you think he is a good manager? He has only been a manager in one instance, Liverpool, where he was a miserable failure.}

19 May 2016 11:29:00
I agree doiger. I think MW approaches management of football much the same as his time in the city. That is to say, he prepares, he does his homework and he surrounds himself with what he perceives to be the best. He analyses every detail and finds a way to be better next time. He may be a newcomer to this but he doesn't look out of his depth.
Even in a different league we still managed to dispatch their 'manager, ' who knows what will happen now they have direct competition for the first time in years. Perhaps Brenda will be another name to add to their list of failures!

19 May 2016 12:55:01
Doesn't matter if he is a good or bad manager it will count for nothing. Plenty of good managers have had poor experiences and ended up being sacked. As for Rodgers it will depend on how much cash he will have, how good is contacts are and how many players he can offload from a very big squad. No one can say for sure how it will go if he gets the job but it will put more of the spotlight on the Scottish game which has been sadly lacking since our demotion.

19 May 2016 13:05:03
I just wonder how much the deal is actually worth?
and if they broke the bank to get him do they expect him to work magic with the current squad?
or have they been doing as some feared and waited to splash the cash they have saved for us coming up?

either way Brenda hasn't got a magic hat!

19 May 2016 11:34:04
I pretty much agree with Ed here. fair enough he won the play off final. he went to Liverpool and got them to 2nd, with a big help from Suarez. when he left f Barcelona Liverpool really struggled, average manager in my opinion, wouldn't be at all worried if he was appointed as their manager. woupdnt be worried if any of the names being mentioned for them were appointed manager to be totally honest!

19 May 2016 12:35:12
Just my opinion ed, I liked what he done at Swansea plus I think he did ok at Liverpool but because of the amount of money he spent he had to go, as I said it's only my opinion ed.

{Ed001's Note - it was nothing to do with money.}

19 May 2016 13:21:31
James Stirling

Although I expect them to have a bigger budget than us I don't think it will be that much bigger. I'm assuming that he will get a certain amount and then more from any sales. Trouble is I'm not sure how many players he would want to sell will actually bring any significant amounts of cash.

19 May 2016 17:39:00
I think Brenda is a more than decent manager, but the preS's in Glasgow would tear him apart.

19 May 2016 00:15:30
Ive also just read we have refused to wear the new strip (next seasons) strip in the cup final,

19 May 2016 12:12:19
dont think this will happen.

19 May 2016 15:22:11
Rangerboy its happening mate, this seasons shirt will be worn in the cup final,

18 May 2016 23:46:49
Don't seem to be linked with a goalkeeper yet which is a worry, Wes between the sticks doesn't fill me with confidence and he will be tested much more in the SPL than he has been so far.

19 May 2016 06:27:49
Young Liam Kelly would be more than sufficient cover and if he doesn't sell Bell then we have 3 keepers. Granted FODS has a few shaky games, but I don't see the need to get another young keeper from down south. What kind of message would that send to young Liam and Robbie McCrorie?

19 May 2016 06:44:41
Bell is off to Kilmarnock as is the boy McCabe, providing Killie win playoff.

19 May 2016 07:59:57
Rhys McCabe?

19 May 2016 08:22:39
The transfer window hasn't even opened yet. give it time people.

19 May 2016 08:47:55
We need another keeper as Foderingham isn't good enough concedes too many bad goals and far too easily beaten. If we want to genuinely challenge next season a better keeper is a must.

19 May 2016 13:07:32
anybody in mind biffo?

18 May 2016 23:41:36
Everyone talking about who we are signing but I think who we can keep this summer is every bit as important. My worry is if we get a decent offer for players like waghorn, Tavernier, Wallace etc then we would probably take the money. Also saw josh windass scored again tonight must admit I haven't saw much of him but seems to have had a good season. Do we think he will be a big player for us next year or more of a squad player? Also think a lot depends on if we win on Sunday and have a crack at Europe we can maybe get the bigger names that have been linked to the club like Barton, agger, Krancjar.

19 May 2016 13:11:18
I don't thing big tav is going anywhere or waggy for that matter . they haven't even proved themselves st the top of Scottish football yet and would be premature to sell too soon.

if they prove themselves next year and have a season like this one we could see over 10 mill on each player easily look and theirney if he is worth that tav is easily 12 to 15 mill.

19 May 2016 13:24:26
James Stirling

Would agree I don't think we need to worry about any bids as we didn't play in the top league last season and I doubt anyone will be impressed with performances in the championship. However if these guys perform well next season then some bids will come in. I'm sure when signing though this was promised to some of the players in return for playing in the 2nd tier.
