Dundee United captain Jon Daly has confirmed he will play for Rangers next season.
The 30-year-old Irishman will put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the option of a further year subject to the results of a medical.
Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cammy Bell also confirmed his move to the Second Division side this summer

Cant belive were signing a lazy 30 year old on 5k+ a week, we should sign Nicky Clark and put him up top with Little or even Temps that would easy get us back to where we belong
We all ready have to thirty year olds getting more than 5k a week and they are out on loan so it does seem that bad if he's getting 5k and been playing 2 divisons higher is there anyone better right now at rangers cribari don't think so
20 May 2013 00:17:56
He's supposedly getting nearer 9k a wk.
Hope law and Daly come in for cribari and black, Ian black is worst signing ally made last year and that's saying something considering the rubbish that came in
Looks like McCoist is on the right track now and doing exactly what he knew had to be done. Just needs to offload the non performers now and I hope Law comes on board.
@4, problem is he signed the non performers on 2 year deals last summer and they have no sell on value. What makes it worse they are due a weekly pay rise now we have achieved promotion.
Give the guy a chance. Not even kick a ball yet and getting stick.
@5 good business by Ally, pay non triers big bucks in part time league, because he couldn't mould the so called "cream" at Murray PK into a team capable of winning P/T league.
19 May 2013 20:10:17
I hope Ally gets the players he wants for his budget and hits the ground running next year. I would hate to see his relationship with fans soured due to the way the team plays. Rangers should never be playing with a lone striker at ibrox against anybody never mind 3rd div teams.
Hasn't that relationship been soured because it was Ally's choice to play one up front? Nothing to do with not getting the players he wanted.
@1 well said mate this 1 up front p. sh gets right on ma t. ts. jmgers
19 May 2013 19:58:45
have we actually signed anyone for definite as all targets seem to be speaking to mother clubs first
19 May 2013 19:53:57
are we still going to usa and south Africa on tour in summer as I will be going to the states on holiday
No but I think you will be in a state lol
Think in the present climate Rangers should be going on tour to the highlands
by bus give the backroom staff, fans and players prospective.
We got it from the horses mouth two weeks ago. Ally stated pre season in USA and Germany. Or was he trying to be the tail wagging the dog.
Thought you would have seen enough of The Highlands!
I really hope Ra Rangers come to Germany pre-season. There is a great Frauen Football League over here. Perhaps they could play the Frankfurt Ladies team, should set them up for the next season. Eintracht would wipe the floor with them. Bring on the Gers. Auf Wiedersehen!
Exactly it should be a weekend in blackpool sharing a b and b its all they deserve.
19 May 2013 18:01:47
That's Alloa promoted two seasons in a row with an inexperienced manager and a team of part timers meanwhile Ally's worried about his £10M war chest.
Foxy
Ally just a very poor manaer
Difference being Allys
looking to build a
squad over nxt 2-3 year
so that when we do get
back there's a squad in
place that can hit the
ground running and
are capable of winning
a cup or 2 to keep up
with fans expectations

@2) absolute nonsense. He's crap. And he gets more money more resource than everybody.
By getting booted out of Europe he sunk the club financially. It sunk into admin then liquidation all because of Ally McCoist.
Thats a big surprise Alloa being so good
are they the same as the Alloa we rattled 7 past?
thought that game looked even till the 6th went in right enough
but fair play to Alloa for turning there season round from a complete route that day
@2 all you lot talk about is bringing back every has been that's played for the club yet Ally's building a squad, your'e deluded,
Athough happy for Alloa I do now fear the worst for Dumfermline, s future.
This could also be the case for Hearts.
Could either/both survive after relegation?
The predictions of Scottish football in freefall are just round the corner!!
I wish both teams well
Billyh.
You're spot on mate.
Don't let the numpties get you down.
P. O. B.
@5 take it you support
another team as you
call us "you lot". when
has ally mentioned he's
going to sign former STARS
billy h
@3. If you believe a couple of bum results in Europe put rangers in admin then you really need to read a bit more between the lines. Yes the results were poor and the financial consequences very harming. But do you think if wed have made the groups we wouldn't have gone bust? Cw would have creamed more money and still blamed the big tax case as being the reason we went bust. We went bust because of whyte. Murray to an extent didn't help but under Murray we still paid our inc tax and ni. Which if you recall was why we went down. Whyte had one plan. Go bust and con ticketus.
Spot on billy h. jmgers
@8 did I say Ally, no I said you lot and @7 spot off jump ty!
2) Jon Daly, Kenny Miller, Kris Boyd, building for the future?
4) With the club's wage bill Rangers should be beating everyone 7-0 yet only scraped by in many games.
My point was not Alloa is better than Rangers - but typical response on this site to slag them off because the mighty Rangers humped them. We've heard nothing but excuses all season about embargos, no pre-season, etc. when there is no excuse. My point was it is possible on a small budget.
Isn't all this public speculation around SPL targets and spending millions to win the 2nd division not slightly embarrassing?
Does it not stink a bit when the debtors haven't received a penny?
A bit of class, humility and frugality would go a long way!

Possible 1st 11 for next year
BELL
HATLEY PERRY JIGGY WALLACE
McKAY GOMIS MACLEOD TEMPLETON

Perry is the worst player I have ever seen, absolutely useless. trueblue.

Personally I would sign a good goalkeeper [ Bell ]. A dominant central defender, a central mid-fielder able to control things and a proven goal scorer at that level [ Clarke ]. Clear out the failures and sort out our scouting methods.

i don't think we would need to improve our squad too much for next year however a few new faces are required.
here is a REALISTIC squad for next year
ins-GK-cammy bell-killmarnock
-LB-steven smith
-ST-Nacho Novo
-ST-Clarke-QOS
-ST-Kris Boyd-killmarnock
-CM-Morgano Gomis-birmingham
-CM-Nicky Law-motherwell
-RB/CM-Tom Hatley-motherwell
NOT SAYING WE WILL GET ALL THESE PLAYERS HOWEVER A FEW WOULD BE NICE
-BlueBob
Stevie smith couldn't get in team ahead of sasa. never mind ahead of wallace
Sasa was a crackin player and is having 2 good left backs not better than just having the 1?
Novo, Boyd it's like a episode of Ashes to Ashes, thought it was all about youth? Go the whole road and bring back Greig as manager, leave the past behind.
@3 what is wrong with signing novo, boyd, smith and even wilson and where is this youth that your on about mcleod, mckayand maybe aird are decent young players with mcleod being the stand out I like little but he shouldn't be looked at as a youth player others like Hemmings, crawford, hegarty etc would benifit from having older heads in the squad and us the fans imo would like to see a team play with a bit of flair and confidence and the mix of youth and experience could bring that so let's stop this play all the youngsters p. sh as we don't have enough good yins to achieve what were after. jmgers

Eds this is now 3rd time I'm posting this question to u have we made any pre season plans for down south or anywhere {Ed001's Note - and I have answered it that I don't know what is happening. There have been talks with a few Prem clubs, that is all I know.}
19 May 2013 15:04:16
I heard danny wilson is close to signing. does anyone think this is a bad move. the boy has gone backwords since leaving rangers plus he will be looking for desent money. he looked really poor at hearts. I would think about andy webster a contract for a couple of years. we need decent center half's.
Oh my god he's pure utter rubbish he was only good in his and the medias mind.
@1. Nonsense, Wilson was a good young prospect. I remember him holding his own (and in many games being the stand out) for us prior to his move to Liverpool. Do you honestly think a club like Liverpool would have taken him because the media said he was good? His only problem was the same as that of many young players, he left far to soon. That said, if he had stayed and been embroiled in our recent troubles that could have done his confidence in completely. If we're talking about bringing back former players then Wilson is one of the only ones I'd accept. at least he's still young. Can't believe we're still hankering for the likes of Boyd, Miller, Novo and Ferguson on here.
Wilson was known at Liverpool as the defender who can't defend
19 May 2013 13:47:53
anyone herd if the Argentinian centre back is signing.
Publicly stunt to sell season books.
Publicity stunt? Really?
I would hope they would come up with something a bit more promising than that. We don t need any stunts, fans will either renew or not- would be very surprised if they do not renew.
@2 Prepare to be surprised- some will without thinking but it won't be that cut and dried. You not remotely intrigued as to why renewals haven't went out yet?
19 May 2013 17:21:09
Baybear - Am assuming they'll be available soon to renew. Surely the sooner the money comes in the better?
Irvine
@4 the better for who? Where's the money going? Whyte, green, easdales? Tickeus? You would be nuts to buy a season book until it is known were the money is going.
@5 most of all, if the club is viable financially to even complete next season! That is what I would be most worried about!
N6 are you serious doyou honestly think rangers are bringing in these new signings to then run out of money in middle of season tmwnn
@7 you mean like they were in admin and tried to sign a player then! Yeah I totally see what you mean!
I don't think they really know what is going on with the regard to finances at rangers! @7 if you are so confident of such a rosy financial picture mate, why no audited accounts? Why is no one coming out and telling us the full picture? Last couple if seasons we have seen that rangers are very reckless with regard to signings and not thinking about any consequences! So signing players and not knowing the future would be totally a realistic! So best you wise up buddy and take off your rediculous blue tinted glasses!
No 1, ithink you may find he was over for a trial, as for season books is it possible they are waiting for the report to come out this week as nobody is going to renew until some clarity is giving to the fans. BT
19 May 2013 11:27:40
Why are people talking about a 15 point reduction for hearts? I thought rangers got a 10 point reduction.
The new rules are 1/3 of your previous season point tally?
Op there are diffrent strokes for diffrent folkes tmwnn
18 May 2013 21:33:48
Can anyone be signed on pre contract before the transfer ban is up? Or can transfer dealings only be done their after?
S Nic
Players on free transferscan sign a contract starting june/july. But cannot be registered until 1st september. i'm pretty sure they can play upto 3 league games as a trialist in august.
Its in your wording, the clue is ban
20 May 2013 09:34:26
They can't play any officially recognised games as trialists if they are already signed by the club. duh
