A generation gone!

IMO looking at nephew's and kids the same age, it's not Rangers shirts they have it's Man City, Baca no one what's to be Chris boyed f's! How many have been lost, these are the season ticket holders of the future. Rangers need to be back and winning in Europe soon or its gone forever! Kids I know don't even want to go now.

Wouldn't worry about it too much man. My mates and I also wore European jerseys when younger.

We have 10-15 boys under the age of 16 that go every home game. And I'm sure we will have more next season. All kids wear shirts from teams down south and Europe. I done it and I'm 38.

I remember I got the strip for Christmas. The wee short sleeved v neck shirt with white piping at the collar, white shorts and red and black socks. Must have been mid 1960's. I thought I was the dogs JD Salingers! Happy days!

Watched the game yesterday. Saw a few signs of hope in another dour draw. Maybe four or five players I would actually keep for next year. I was actually impressed that Dean Shields got a start, and a little further impressed with his play. He covered more ground than four or five others have all year. I hope McCall keeps blooding more of the youngsters.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

20 Mar 2015 23:12:33
Aye I thought Shiels did ok as well. I hope he gets a run as he's a clever player who can score goals as well as operate well in the hole behind the strikers

just watched the re-run of the match on RTV.
We actually played very well in patches, but McCulloch cost us the points by just watching the Alloa striker score the equaliser, and as for lard ass, sorry
Boyd?? he might be a legend, but now he is completely finished.

no point in fantasising about who we could bring in, but at least it should be obvious to McCall who to leave out!!

Where are all the so called gers legends that backed mc coist to the hilt in there newspaper columns? Fans should give him time?. He has wrecked the club on the pitch for years to come and walks away on gardening leave. In my opinion the team on the park is worse than it was when we were in 3rd division.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

20 Mar 2015 06:43:56
When Ally left we were in second spot 10 pts above hibs and at least competing with hearts now we are third and barely competing with Alloa, how's that Ally's fault? When he stepped down half the players chucked it Boyd most notably KM has more to answer for than anyone and when you were calling for Ally's head is this what you expected because it's exactly what I knew would happen and I posted as much on numerous occasions . Ally should have finished the season and stood or fell on the outcome instead we can now blame Ally, KM and McCall it we don't go up.

20 Mar 2015 11:25:25
Mccoist brought all the players in! Plus he is taking a wage still which is an absolute disgrace, plus he is to blame for the pathetic level.of fitness are should I say lack of fitness that mccall has inherited,

Agree4 Disagree0

20 Mar 2015 12:09:58
Oh dear JYF we are all entitled to an opinion but your clear affection for the last manager obviously takes such precedence it is almost as if you were watching a different team from the rest of us.
All McCoist's players. McCoist's choice of captain who seems incapable of motivating. £7million wages to win the worst two leagues in Scotland. The first league with full time better quality players and his game is a bogey. Fun oot except for real true fans like you and Callum McDonald who wants him back.
McCall's options are very limited. Ally's options which he chose not to exercise may have included Andy Robertson who he saw first hand at 4 games.
Scott Allen now starring regularly with Hibs who started the season badly but have since humped us with Both Ally and his pal Kenny in charge.

Young Telfer who has gone on to play well for United in the top league scoring at least two good goals from midfield.
A mix of youth and experience would have served us better but our worst ever football team - all presents from Ally and costing a fortune have no fight and no interest and look utterly un-coached and without leadership on the field.

Young Billy King scoring an absolute barrowload for Hearts and looks better than all our strikers but together but earns a fraction of our strikers.

You see Ally was completely risk averse and went for experience every time.

We were a bit of a story we were playing in the worst league in Scotland but still 43,000 supported. The world watched but Ally faltered and blew it and the world first then the majority of us left.

This is Ally's football mess and no one else's. You may be unsure who to blame but had you watched with an open mind the evidence placed the quilt with one man and one man alone- Ally.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2015 23:23:59
I hate to say it but I think we should have stuck with Ally until the end of the season. The stunt with McDowell backfired as he didn't want the job and made it plain. And the players did him no favours through their attitude.
Now Mccall has inherited a mess and is now under pressure within two games. He is already chasing Hibs and having to go to Easter Road and win. (I have a sneaky feeling we just might go there and beat them)! There's still some football to play and if we somehow finish the season in second place it would be a good outcome. I'd then back us to go up. Things are still very much in the melting pot

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Mar 2015 07:15:01
Mannering, did you even read your post back to yourself? if the fitness levels were not good enough under Ally Then that should have been sorted by now, Ally stepped down 3 months ago! "Telfor has scored at least 2 goals from midfield" so has Aird and the last I looked dundee unt were getting humped in the league and cup. Mccall has come in and changed what? The youngsters are there at Ibrox right now but neither KM or Mccall has picked them in any numbers, ask yourself why not. I know that the football under Ally was not good enough but hounding him out when we did was not the answer we are worse off now than we were, and we are still paying him a wage. Take a look at our squad and tell me that you don't think that they should be walking away with this league, you could blame Mccoist for this when he was in charge but now it goes deeper. Reading the posts on here with people still blaming Ally is a joke he's been gone 3 months and still no change.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Mar 2015 11:40:55
JYF we are never going to agree on this. Ally brought all these players in except just about the best one the NU reserve Vudic.
He was hammered by both Hearts and Hibs and lost to Alloa with a massively expensive old squad.
Youth has not been given a chance and McDowell who should never have been given the job as he didn't want it and McCall have to work with an utterly disinterested old team who have gone backwards under Ally's guidance. Telfer plays in a league above Aird and looks a prospect. Aird I don't think will make it which is sad I don't so much blame Ally as I do Walter Smith who appointed him. Ally might be a decent second in command as long as he isn't involved in tactics or team selection but he was never up to the top job.
The two youngsters given a chance by McCall and showing up well just shows us what might have happened with a braver more intelligent manager.
I don't wish Ally any ill will I just do not want to see him anywhere near a Rangers team again as McDowell (sort of) and McCall are having to pick up the pieces of a completely broken team- left by Ally- FACT

Bears and Obsessed Tims

My time allows me to post a lot less than I read. I am astounded by the fans that are just expecting results to change overnight with the new manager and the new board to appoint NOMADS every other day. Rangers are a broken club in every department, the team, backroom staff, corporate staff. Us rangers fans need a scapegoat so enter Ally McCoist!

When you lok at rangers back when they were first relegated they were only given a licence to play a few days before kickoff, all of our players left, we needed to get out of an aggressive league with a bunch of teenagers with no first team experience. He knew the fans expected us to win these games 5-0 every week. We all heralded his signings cribary, black etc. he was bringing SPL and serie A pedigree and experience. But now he gets slated for such signings.

Ally Aside, the NOMAD does not bother me in the slightest. We have 28 days to appoint a NOMAD from the date the previous one resigned. Still time, also what is punishment if this does not happen? We get struck off the AIM. Do we really need to be on there? No, infact by not being on it we might not be able to carry out a share issue but it also closes our club to charlatans. A NOMAD needs to be happy with the way things are run and the board are still doing due diligence on the club. The board also want to take rangers out of the front pages and back to this stuff being kept in-house with fans being updated on important issues.

Current team is a bit of an issue for most fans, again Time is needed for the ship to be steadied. Look for improvements rather than everybody firing on all cylinders. I can certainly see a sustained improvement in the team from the crap uni-dimensional punt tactics where every player was playing "hot-Potato" not wanting the ball. McCall actually took off a defender and put Templeton on (who assisted the second goal) The signs are there to state we are improving. We just need to remain positive and trust that the current custodians of our club are rangers people with rangers best interests at heart. Once they get to grips with the finances and see exactly how much is required and finance accordingly.
Hopefully we will start to see us keeping clean sheets, maybe we should put clark in defence he's the only rangers player who can win a header!

What do you call a man walking through leaves? . Russell!

What do you call a man that's lost his dog? . Douglas!

Boy your tag is like a mathematical equation and your long post almost as boring lol as to the NOMAD question it was King himself who said a NOMAD was already in place and ready to get down to business (read back all his press statements) so was he lying? Why no mention of when his nominated advisor will start work? These are the questions you should be asking the new men in charge.

First thing no one expected Ally to go with a team full of youth players in the 3rd division but should have happened was 5 or 6 young players should have been introduced into the squad along with the experienced pros. This didn't happen. Instead Ally flooded the team with players who were past their best. Do you not think he could have played younger players instead of the likes of Kyle, Perry and Cribari? Ally totally disregarded youth and as a result players like Telfer decided to go elsewhere for first team football. If we look at Hearts they played the young players in top league and it's paid dividends this season. They have a young hungry team who play good football and have walked the league. Also it must be pointed out that last season our youth team beat Hearts to win the Scottish youth cup a Hearts team which included most of their current first team squad. That tells me that must be some good young players in the youth squad but Ally never gave them a chance.

cant believe we have still got ian black back slappers its that kind of mentality that has held us on same poor par for last three years the guy is poor at best gives his all but he just can't cut it, no play makers in middle of the park is our biggest problem closely followed by dire defence

I agree with your points, ally could have played more youngsters, he did play Perry and he was dire, he played Macleod, aird, little, bought templeton, played Crawford. I do wish we did keep telfer he's a talent. I know cribari as a lazio fan but any fan who done a quick search on him would see the clubs he played for. Black can be a good player. L3mst3r. a heart felt post my friend however I unfortunately sense a skewed perspective which still plagues gers fans despite the carry on over the last 15 years or so. For example gers were never relegated but were allowed to bypass accepted rules to enter the bottom tier such as not having 3 years accounts. As for the NOMAD, its true no club HAS to be listed but it would be better in terms of corporate goverance. Mr King has made a lot of promises and I really hope he comes through with them but gers fans com. across as having blind loyalty, a trait which has brought nothing but pain. Its quite simply time for the plain truths to come out of Ibrox #nomoresecrets

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2015 21:40:59
Mb correct mate we weren't relegated as such, banished from football altogether and had to reapply for switching the licence. For talking sake, playing from spl to 3rd division (2nd but anyway) I refer to it as being relegated. But my perception is not skewed I'm niether pessimistic or optimistic in my views on rangers I'm realist. I take on board things from every persons views, take the facts from the paper talk and look at what people are not saying in interviews to find out what I believe to be the truth. I don't think corporate governance comes from being AIM listed, it comes from having the accounts published annually. I believe we will get a NOMAD but I also believe the board have found a number of onerous contract and dealings they can't make public for whichever reason.

I just want people to have patience. Dave Ming did promise a nomad and he will deliver but they need time to be in a position to fully understand the goings on and people behind the hedge funds.

That's just my opinion of course, he could have been bragging his way through the EGM but if that's what it takes to wrestle the club off the previous board then I'm happy to be lied to for the greater good as long as it's for the good of the club

The relish you pick up on is with hand on heart no more than payback for the pre-mccann era and I admit its high time to call it a day. Good luck to the decent gers hopefully Mr King comes across with his promises HH

While I don't agree with the majority of McCoist's signing policy, I thought Boyd would do a turn for us this season (Miller I wasn't so keen on). He's missed chances, but I think the midfield have let him down badly.

However, it is time to move on, and I wish him well if he's off.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

19 Mar 2015 13:50:55
midfield have NOT let Boyd down, Boyd has let us all down! from what I can remember of Boyd this season he could EASILY be on 20 goals or very close to it, if and this is a big if, he wants so FAT AND LAZY, how many times has he missed from 6 yards this season? how many times has he refused to jump for a header, how many times has he been offside because he's walking back from an attack we had 45 seconds previous to him being offside? Don't blame the Rest of the team for the likes of Boyd and Miller not doing what they are paid for, miller spits the dummy out all the time and Boyd is fat and lazy, miller runs after the ball(he's always a good 2-3 yards behind it no matter what) and then moans as he's pointlessly chased their defence when we don't press the ball until they are in our half(shows poor fitness) everyone is getting on at the likes of Law, Hutton, Murdoch, Clark, when in reality they are having to carry TWO dead weights every game! Clark played 20 minutes through the middle on Tuesday and scored twice. Gallagher has scored more goals for Cowdenbeath in the league this season than boyd has for us in all Competitions, Don't even bother playing the rest of the team for Boyd not being good enough! he's fat and lazy. blame that on management all you want but these are PROFFESIONALS they shouldn't need someone to hold their hand and tell them to hit the gym or to train. I'm not sticking up for the management, far from it, but Mohsni and Faure hit the gym all the time to improve their fitness why can't the other boys do it? big Jig is constantly in the wrong position and still hasn't been removed for his pathetic performances. it's time we all realised we have a SPL quality side that needs 3 new faces to it to be up their with most SPL sides. we'd easily finish top half with 3 new faces in that squad, Ally was NEVER the man for the job.

Agree6 Disagree0

19 Mar 2015 14:12:21
Onlyshowaround, so you don't Think k the midfield has been awful, black, law, shiels, etc. Create absolutely nothing and they don't defend or anything it's there job to create. The don't. You do t create you don't score

Agree2 Disagree4

19 Mar 2015 14:49:04
you mean a midfield that can't pass It forward as miller is always out of position and fatty Boyd isn't on the move? yeah I can see your point about that midfield they really are terrible!(sarcasm) Boyd has had so many chances to score, it's not the midfields fault that fatty can't score. he's had to many chances that the midfield must have given up on him. the game against Alloa proved that. he was pathetic.

Agree4 Disagree0

19 Mar 2015 16:51:35
Really so maybe the fact that the midfielders get the ball launch a high ball straight down the middle 85% of the match is boyds fault? You obviously don't watch the match when your there or you don't know which player is which.

Ceexxx I've been to every game this season, and it's always the same excuses from fans!, law is terrible, hutton is useless. when in reality they've lost confidence in the strikers to actually give them the service, boyd doesn't fight for the ball, he expects in right on his head. even when he gets that service it's right at the keeper, or hit over. stop protecting the old guard and realise we would be a lot better off without Boyd and Miller.
